I stuck close by Scarlet while we travelled with Sound, even though there was virtually no reason to be so close with a trainer around, I still did it. Occasionally I will paw at her to try and get the Ninetales to play with me, which Scarlet did do. Was I already this comfortable with being a fire dog already? Here I was, asking a Ninetales to play with me, and I actually enjoyed playing. Scarlet pinned me down for the eighth time, "I caught you!" she cheered before getting off of me.

What really caught me off guard was how friendly Scarlet's been recently, early on she definitely wanted nothing to do with me, and only put up with me because I was a pup. Now it seemed like she genuinely cared about me. That brought me back to the night I met the Ninetales, Scarlet seemed to really hate Houndour and Houndoom. For an understandable reason too, so what about me made her like me?

Scarlet let me up, "want to go again?" she got down into a play bow, and I honestly couldn't say no. Maybe it had to do with how I used to be a human, but I have to say, she's kinda cute. So saying no to her would be like saying no to a hyper intelligent dog, you really can't. "Yeah!" I then jumped up at her, and Scarlet had let me pin her down, "I don't get how Pokemon have more energy than I will in my entire life." Sound joked.

Scarlet's POV=

I let Raon pin me down, playing like this after about a century felt nice. Now I was questioning what is wrong with me; this is a Houndour, and I was playing with it like it was my own child. I tried justifying why I actually like Raon with "he's decent for a Houndour" or "he's adorable."

Raon licked me on the cheek before getting off of me, "I win!" I giggled, "yes, yes you did," perhaps giving this pup a chance was a smart move. I got to raise a young Pokemon again, and chances were, this Houndour would be dead if he didn't come with me. Couldn't fight, couldn't even use Ember until Sound had taught him recently.

Looking at Raon now, he grew quite a lot, from that pup that was barely higher than my ankles, was now nearly at shoulder height. Now, by no means was he big, a Houndoom easily towered over me if I remembered correctly, but that did mean he's growing a lot. Which was good, I could start teaching him moves such as Flamethrower and probably Dark Pulse if I wanted to. Though, those would be most of the few moves I could teach him. I knew how to use a wide variety of moves, but I doubt a Houndour could learn most of said moves.

Raon yawned for a second, so I picked him up by the scruff. Despite how much bigger he's gotten, the Houndour was very easy to pick up off the ground.

Raon's POV=

After Scarlet started carrying me, I didn't pay much attention to what was happening. There wasn't a reason to pay a whole lot of attention, Scarlet would likely let me know if something was happening, and she'd also protect me right? I closed my eyes and started to sleep.

All of a sudden I was put on the ground, which caused me to wake up real quick, "Nine!" Scarlet barked, my eyes opened and what was happening, "Raon get behind me, now. Me and Sound will handle this." her voice was very stern. Sound had his Pyroar out, and was attacking something I couldn't see. Scarlet then turned and fired what looked like a Fire Blast. Her tone was enough for me to figure something was not right.

Then Scarlet got hit with what I could guess was a Rock Type move, she yelped in pain, and Sound and his Pokemon finished off whatever had attacked us. "It's down!" said Sound.

I slowly walked out from behind Scarlet, "are you alright?" Scarlet said, her voice was a bit strained, likely from the hit she took, "I'm fine, but what about you?" the Ninetales chuckled, "I only took a hit, I'll survive," I still wasn't satisfied with that answer. I sniffed all over her, checking to see if she had any wounds other than the scrapes and bruises she had, "Raon, I assure you, I am fine." after checking all over, I was satisfied, "thank you." I curled up into her side.

Scarlet's POV=

That Rock Blast hurt a lot more than I thought it would, while I would survive, what it left a sharp pain where it hit. Luckily I could just use Wish and recover pretty quickly, which is exactly what I did. Raon still checked over me despite my attempts to tell him that I wasn't injured other than a few bruises. After he was done inspecting me, he laid down on my side and thanked me for something.

Chances were the Houndour was thanking me for keeping him safe, which I was going to do anyways. I said I wouldn't let Raon get hurt after he got chased by that Growlithe right? Keeping that promise with him was something I intended to do. On top of that, I have grown a bit more attached to Raon, so I had more of a reason to protect him other than a small promise.

I could feel the Wish start taking its effects, it wouldn't completely wipe away the bruises, or even the scrapes. It will, however, get rid of that sharp pain that the Rock Blast had left, and heal it faster than if I just left it alone to heal for the next few weeks. Sound checked over Nala, and thanked her for helping take down the Aggron. The trainer then got up and checked over me and Raon, there was no need for him to check Raon. No matter what, I wasn't going to let a single attack touch the Houndour.

On top of the Wish, Sound took out a couple of potions and sprayed both of us down, so that would take care of the bruise and scrapes. It didn't do too much to Raon, given he wasn't even injured, but I appreciated Sound being safe rather than sorry when it came to our well being. Especially since we weren't even his Pokemon. The Houndour scooted even closer to me, which I didn't think would be possible.

I laid my tails over him; and tomorrow I will start teaching him how to fight so he can defend himself in case I am not around.
