Update 26/06/2020: To people from the U.K I understand that England is no longer on lockdown and instead of the two meter rule you are having the one meter rule but please bear in mind that Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are still strict regarding lockdown and therefore, please don't come to Wales or in any other country that are still in lockdown if you ever want to get fined or worse put in prison and don't put on ILLEGAL parties either! Thank you kindly

Update 28/12/2020: My lovely beta Hanashi finished her edits back in November and unfortunately I have a scatter brain which caused me to forget to update gilded bird (and that I've playing on my switch. That reminds me how do you all like the LOZ game). Oh and I hope you all enjoyed Christmas. And I'll see you all in the New Year.

Trigger Warning: Mentions of suicide by hanging, animal death and employment of underage and Disability abuse.

"Miss, what do you mean by your father?" Jean asked.

"Jean, when I was around your age, I lost someone so dear to me… my adoptive father named Mana."

"Walker!" Link said as he pushed Allen protectively behind him. "You don't have to say anything about your past!"

"No I want too, Link...or rather, I think I should."

A very young child was seen walking around the circus and holding his paralyized left arm. To say the youth was annoyed, would perhaps be the largest understatement of the decade, if not just his life as a whole. Of course, it had only been just the tip of the iceberg for his current problems that life always seemed to enjoy giving the unfortunate street urchin. He blew his rusty-brown hair out of his eyes, only for it to fall exactly where it had originally.

"This fucking arm of mine," He was seething, not for the first time as his right hand's grip tightened around the unfeeling limb it was clinging to, "my bloody parents left me after I was born and I can't even hold a fucking job! Because. Of this. God-forsaken. ARM!" Younger Allen -- Or 'Red', as many have chosen to call him back then -- shouted loudly. How many jobs have been taken from him just because of either his age, or his demonic limb? Hell if he knew, he didn't know how to count past five, and even that was a miracle all on its own for someone of his current status.

Lost in his raging thoughts, he didn't notice he was going to trip over something. A rock hidden in the untamed grass. He screamed in surprise as he lost his footing, and groaned the moment he face planted into the ground. This was not his day.

For a brief moment, he wondered if he should just remain there, and let the earth just eat him. While it would solve the issue of his existence, it wouldn't have gotten the job done anytime soon. He would live another day, it seemed.

As he started to get up, he soon noticed a man holding onto some kind of rope and placing it on the tree while making a knot. It appeared that his fall hadn't alerted the weird man of his presence, so he called out to the adult, more so out of curious boredom, than anything else, "What are you doing mister?"

There was no flinch of the shoulders, so maybe the man knew he was there after all, while he made no intention of turning to meet his unintended guess, he answered a few moments later, "I'm going to the next world, this world is too cruel."

"Well, obviously." Red said in annoyance, "We live with the shittiest people to exist, so what?"

The strange man stopped making his knot, and this time, did turn to face his visitor. A young boy with reddish-brown hair.

'Is that Cross' child? And what is he doing here?' The man was curious, and took a step closer to the child. The boy backed up, rightfully weary, but the action didn't deeter the man. As he got closer he instantly knew who the child was. Of all places, he'd finally find him here?

"Then, how about we leave?" The man inquired, "This place is, as you've said, has 'the shittiest people to exist'."

"...it can't be that easy."

THe man smiled in a friendly manner, holding out his hand, "My name is Mana, would you like to go?"

"...Red...and...maybe?"

Within moments, the boy instantly became his son, and was renamed 'Allen'. The newly acquainted father-son duo left the circus together hand in hand.

They never looked back.

Months have passed since the impromptu adoption of Allen (formerly known as Red) and the child was smiling a lot more but still has the personality of a feline when it comes to Mana ( much to Mana's dismay.) However that changed when Allen went food shopping alongside Mana.

It was mid afternoon and Mana needed to get groceries for himself and his little feline. ("Who're you calling a feline, you creepy asshole!?") After a few short minute walk, they arrived at a mini market and Allen was forced to stay outside and wait patiently as the cue was long...and also, Mana didn't want Allen's sticky fingers anywhere near the shelves. He learned very quickly that his son was very grabby with items that caught his fancy.

He was already regretting it, because what started as a smaller line when he got there, became about five extra people longer. 'This is going to take a while!' Mana screamed mentally and sweatdropped.

Outside, Allen was attempting to move his deadweight arm. Lately, it was painful to attempt, a feeling he wasn't familiar with, as up until a couple of weeks ago it was always numb. He decided to stop, as the nerves were bothering him more than they have before within those two weeks. It was around then when two adults that looked less kindly walked up to the poor child.

"Haha!" One of the adults laughed and pointed at Allen. "He's fucking useless can't even move his arm."

'Way to point the fucking obvoius, you twat.' Allen mentally bristled.

The second one sneered, with a grin that showed much malice as he spoke, "He should go to the workhouse, all the worthless brats like him can wither and die! No one in London needs this disgusting filth in the streets!"

"I'm not filthy!" Allen shouted back. "And I'm not useless!"

However, inside the shop Mana saw what was going outside and swiftly left the shop and he didn't get served!

"What the Dickens is going on here?!" Mana exclaimed as he saw Allen in near tears and two full grown adults smiling smugly.

"We were just teaching this brat that he ain't needed in this world!" The adult closest to Allen said while pointing at him.

"He's a strumpet and doesn't belong here!"

Mana looked at the two adults camly but inside he was blazing with fire and spoke calmly but with a hint of anger.

"He is but a child and therefore not a strumpet, and not a piece of filth and he certainly belongs here, he is my son!" Mana had actually growled out, "and I will not have you degrade him like this again!" The adults scoffed and one of them said; "You belong with each other!"

Allen was crying once he finished his sorrowful tale, "Since that day, I happily called him my father until I lost him not long into winter."

"Ah…" Komui nodded, "But I assume there's a little more to this story?"

"Yeah." Allen sighed, looking listlessly into the distance.

Spring changed to summer, summer turned to Autumn and Autumn froze into Winter. It had been another day, nothing really gave off the premonition of anything bad going to happen. It was just a normal, unsuspecting day.

Until it wasn't.

"NO! Father!" Allen cried as Mana had pushed Allen away from the oncoming carriage, something had spooked the horse terribly somewhere up the road, and in its frantic escape, it nearly ran into Allen. The very one that did trample on the father that saved

"Allen, I love you and please keep walking. That is my final wish." Mana said weakly.

"No! I want you to live, I want us to stay as a family, please Mana!" Allen pleaded frantically however, Mana knew it was time for him to go on a journey and he will continue to watch over Allen, Mana then died with a smile on his face.

A week has passed since mana's death and Allen never left his father's grave. It was around then the Millenium Earl had visited him, and turned his beloved foster father into an Akuma. This lead to the second time where he lost Mana, and from the stress and shock, Allen's hair turned white. He passed out into a coma, and the world around him was no more.

"After that Cross only looked after me after a month then took me straight to the headquarters." Allen said. "That's why I want to stop the Earl, the Akuma's soul suffers inside the skeleton and they need to move on. Link, Kanda I know it's your duty to look after me, but please let me stop this Akuma from crying."

"Walker… for once I'll let you do this, but no more!" Link warned. "I mean it!"

"Thank you." Allen whispered gratefully and destroyed the Akuma while the others fought off the Earl and the Earl lost.

"I won't forget this!"

A week after the events which preceded passed Jean's father - after getting a scolding from children for more or less neglecting his child - always made sure he would get home on time in order to be there for his son...and as for Allen?

He, being rather innocent in some matters, just didn't understand why his heart would feel weird every time he's around Kanda.

Author's note 2: Dicken in the Victorian era was a bad word to use and the website is:

Beta's Notes: Hiyas~ ひさしぶりですね(It's been a while, hm~?) Things are finally winding down on my end, so now I'm happy to present this wonderful edited piece by yours truly~! Um, nothing else I gotta say, so...remember, wear your masks when you go out to crowded and public places...and don't forget to social distance. :D

Um...yeah, a lot of these terms were so silly to me as an American xD I might've had to calm myself between times I've been editing this x)

But for those who are using FF these words are:Top Ten Swear Words

1. Balls - shortened from ballocks

2. Bootlicker - same as ass-licker

3. Cherry - vulgar term for a young woman

4. Quim - female genitalia

5. Strumpet - a whore

6. Blazes - hell or the devil

7. Cussed - cursed or mean

8. Dratted - expletive or used for damned

9. Lickfinger/Lick-spittle - kiss-ass

10. Tarnation/Nation - used for damnation

BONUS: Top Five Surprisingly Naughty Words

1. Bull - taboo word because it was associated with sexual potency so polite people said cow brute, a gentleman cow, a top cow, or a seed ox.

2. Dad - euphemism for God as in dad-blame it.

3. Dickens - devil as in what the Dickens are you doing?

4. Inexpressibles - a euphemism for pants or trousers. This was due to the fact that the legs were considered extremely private. People usually said limb instead of the word leg. Also very awkward to use in your writing without explaining and even more awkward for your character to stop and explain it. Have to admit I tried to avoid it in my novel.

5. Mary - homosexual.
