Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the New Emperor. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Destiny, Bungie and Microsoft do.
(Mars, Black Garden.)
Adam continued forward, he racked his shotgun and turned to Prime.
"I'm starting to wonder if we're going to get there." Prime stated which caused Adam to shake his head.
"We will." Adam said as he leapt to another platform. "It's shutting the heart down. I have no idea if the Vex increased their defenses here." Adam added before activating his communicator.
"Ca'uor?" Adam asked as a flash of light appeared. Adam turned and fired, decapitating the Goblin who collapsed to the ground. "Where are you and our men?" Adam questioned while more Goblins teleported in.
Adam took off. Vex firing at his back as he turned towards them. Adam would give the Vex credit. They were willing to throw dozens of units away just to delay the Cabal.
"We will be there soon, my liege." Ca'uor stated to the Cabal ruler. "The Vex are putting up heavy resistance. I'm surprised their fighting this much." Ca'uor added as Adam looked up at the sky.
"I told you the Vex will die for the garden." Adam responded to the Red Legion captain. "I'm going to take care of the Black Garden." Adam added and turned to the Vex again.
He fired his shotgun while Adam sighed and rolled his eyes. Adam watched one of the Goblins collapses. Adam looked at Prime before racking his shotgun once more. The bullet ejected from the gun as Adam hummed.
"Well, we can't exactly fault them for trying." Prime put in while Adam shook his head.
(With Ca'uor and Red Legion)
Ca'uor fired a jet of fire, melting a squad of Goblins before taking fire. He looked at the rows of Goblins and Harpies.
The Red Legion Captain was starting to understand. The Dominus didn't fear the Vex. But he was well aware of how dangerous they were.
"Hold the line!" Ca'uor yelled to his men. He watched a Centurion fire their Bronto Canon. A pair of Goblins collapsed; their frames twisted beyond repair. "Someone set up a flanking position!" Ca'uor ordered while aiming out of the cover.
Ca'uor hummed and fired his flame belching weapon at the Vex. He could hear the voice of Adam over the comm. Ca'uor could see a few dead Legionaries and Psions. Their armor burning where they were punctured.
"How are our lines holding up?" Adam asked, Ca'uor could hear the sound of weapons fire. "The Vex have to have a commander. The last time I was here? I had to take out a trio of Vex Minotaurs to destroy the heart." Adam put in which made Ca'uor look around the corner.
Ca'uor was starting to wonder if this invasion was well timed. Ca'uor had thought that Adam had kept his men back for a rear guard. He was now starting to realize that Adam had left his men for good reason.
"Their taking moderate losses." Ca'uor reported, he smashed another Goblin into scrap. "But their pinning down the Blind Legion. We're pushing through their lines as well." Ca'uor added and looked at the Phalanx wall.
the Phalanx wall held firm against the Vex onslaught. They fired their Slug Shotguns. Goblin after Goblin collapsed, bullet marks pockmarking each dead Vex soldier.
The few Centurions within the group urged a line of Legionaries and Psions forward.
"Their line collapses!" One of the Centurions roared, one of his shots decapitated a Minotaur. The hulking Vex soldier collapsed off the platform. "Push forward!" The Centurion ordered as the remaining Goblins retreated. Their line broken and realizing their wave like strategy was no longer effective.
"The Vex will regroup at the Heart." Ca'uor stated to his men before Adam came in over the radio.
"Ca'uor, the Vex will continue to ramp up their waves." Adam said, it sounded like he had finished a fight. "If your going to win here? You need to smash through them before they dig in. I've killed enough Vex to know how they work." Adam put in which caused Ca'uor to look around before staring at his men.
"My liege?" Ca'uor questioned and gestured his men forward. He had commanded a Bridge. The Red Legion equivalent of a Company. "Did you hold your troops back to keep them from being butchered?" Ca'uor asked Adam who took but a moment to respond.
"Yes. I know the Vex." Adam added to Ca'uor as the Red Legion and Blind Legion soldiers ventured forth. "They love to send out troops to die. Vex set up ambushes while their scouts die. If I had ordered my men forward? They'd end up butchered by Vex…." Adam said and hummed for a moment.
"Tell the Skyburners to get charges planted. When we destroy the heart?" Adam questioned the Red Legion officer. "We're blowing up the gate. The Vex aren't going to be coming back to Mars." Adam stated while cracking his neck.
(With Adam)
Adam reloaded his shotgun, surrounded by destroyed Vex. He waited for reinforcements to make a final push.

Phew. Another chapter done! Next chapter will end up being in 2-10 weeks or so and will show Adam leading the Red Legion. I also want to point out there will be more space battles soon. Until then, Lighting Wolf!
P.S: Next chapter will be 1200 words or so. Fallen and Vex will be 1200 words soon.
