I wasn't gonna write a note before this chapter but a review made me laugh.
Guest said: SH*T WENT FROM 0 TO 100 REAL QUICK! Why don't you have an emotional warning? I wasn't ready for this! D:
Buuuut the fact that I'm feeling this way means that it's a great story, so keep it up!
Thank you ! :D And I'm sorry for that emotional scene, I'll put a warning next time haha.
Marshall V2018 said 'Great chapter keep it up.'
Thank you friend, I really appreciate it! :D
Sturmivik said 'Hey, I'm glad you're back! I really enjoy these stories of yours!'
I'm thankful you do! And yeah it's great to be back! :D
I've decided to expand a bit on Rocky's past curiosity to interpret it better so it can be better understood to avoid confusion. And no emotional scenes in this one! Enjoy!
The pups arrived at the waterpark. It only took half an hour of a drive but Marshall was really enthusiastic.
Ryder stepped out stretching his arms. The PAW patroller side doors opened and the pups stepped out dragging their suitcases with them. Ryder had his own. "Thanks, Robo-dog! You can park the PAW patroller and meet us in the lobby of the hotel!"
Robo-dog replied in his robotic voice. "Ruff, ruff!" And then he took off, eyes attentively on the road.
"Alright, pups! Let's head in!"
There were 2 bellmen that were assisting the PAW patrol with their baggage and suitcases. After the reservation was made, the PAW patrol were led to their rooms all adjacent to each other, specifically for respect of their contributions to society, and of course because Ryder asked of them to which they gratefully agreed.
"Okay, pups. You know your rooms. I'll be staying with Chase and Marshall. Skye with Rubble and Rocky with Zuma. Any questions?"
The pups stayed silent.
"Great! You guys get ready and meet me back in the lobby in fifteen minutes and then we'll head off to the waterpark!"
Everyone made way into their rooms, prepared for the fun ahead while Ryder was most excited to relax.
As soon as all the pups finished unpacking for the upcoming two days, they met inside the lobby where Ryder was waiting for them. He waved at them in delight. "Here pups!" He had the same cap, shorts and shirt on when he arrived but this time he also had a small bag in his hand.
The pups all had their swimsuits on which Ryder thought they looked really cute in. The only pup without a smile on was Rocky who was already shivering at the thought of water.
"This is gonna be the worst day ever..." Rocky said, lowering his head.
"Come on, Rocky! Cheer up. And besides you can just lay on the sun lounger!" Marshall tried cheering him up.
Rocky looked up. "Hmm...I guess you're right."
"Alright, pups let's have a fantastic day with nothing but fun..." Chase said taking a quick glimpse at Rocky then back at the pups. "And games!"
The pups howled in excitement.
"Alright, pups off to the pool! It's just 5 minutes away by the PAW patroller!"
With that being said they all rushed out the doors and into the PAW patroller awaiting the fun.
When the PAW patrol arrived they went into the changing rooms after Ryder showed the tickets to the ticket taker. As soon as they were finished, a few members of the PAW patrol wearing goggles, their jaws dropped as they saw that the waterpark was full. There were so many people!
They all frowned.
Ryder saw their frowns and did what he did best. "Pups, don't worry. Besides you're all small so I'm sure there's plenty of room for some pups! Go have fun and I'll order us some lemonades and even ice-cream."
This seemed to lift their morale up as they rushed into the water apart from Rocky who followed Ryder.
The waterpark was huge! There were three separate pools. One was for smaller kids meaning the pool wasn't as deep while the other two were mostly occupied by adults meaning it was deeper. The waterpark had a theme going on consisting of the colour blue. There were at least 100 people! But this didn't stop the pups from having fun. Their main goal was to have fun and that's what they were going to do. Nothing was gonna stop them.
Chase and Marshall both went for the waterslide while the others jumped straight in the children's pool.
"I'm going first Chase!"
"Not if you catch me, Marshall!"
Both pups called out after the other as they sprinted towards the top of the waterslide. They couldn't get ready for some action!
Chase managed to beat Marshall to the top. Chase looked behind and seen Marshall out of breath and panting.
"H-How d-did you...do t-that so...quick?" Marshall questioned with a confused look in his eyes. "I'm like the fastest."
"Hmm..." Chase thought. "Probably cause of will."
They had to wait until the rest of the kids in front of them had their turn on the slide.
"I know we haven't really done anything yet and I don't want to sound like a little kid but this is really cool!" Marshall proclaimed, wagging his tail in excitement as he knew these two days would be quite the ride. It was all about fun and that was what he was planning to do.
"Well we are pups after all. Of course we're excited and always thinking about fun it's the only think we can think about asides from missions. And even they're fun!" He replied.
"Yeah, you're right Chase. I guess I didn't about it that way."
Soon enough it was finally their turn.
"Do you want to go first-"
Wasting no time, Marshall leapt inside the slide and whee'd until the end. Chase also heard him say 'THIS IS SO AWESOME'.
He chuckled. "Well that's Marshall for you."
And then it was his turn.
Rocky was sitting on the floor beside Ryder who was on the lounge chair happily sleeping with a hat on his face to protect himself from the sun. He also had a pair of ultraviolet sunglasses on but he wasn't risking it.
Rocky was glancing at all the people in the pools jumping around having fun.
'I wish I could have that much fun...' Rocky hated his phobia. The fear of water. It would trigger an unpleasant memory in his brain every single time he'd think about water therefore he avoided it as much as possible. But he knew. He knew one day he would have to be courageous facing his fear. Overcoming it would take time, Rocky had no doubt about that but it would take time. Nothing was impossible if you truly put in the hard work, thanks to Ryder. But even Rocky knew some things were impossible. Like a human being flying unassisted by mechanical devices or being able to live without drinking water and eating food. Rocky could only wish that was possible. He wasn't into food that much, unlike Rubble and Marshall. It was like a hobby for them!
Rocky sighed. 'I gotta be brave...just like Ryder said. Then I can conquer anything I want. Even my fears. Even...Marshall's secret.'
His mind drifted to that thought once again. Would he get anything out of this, he thought? Would it be beneficial in any way or just trouble once again? Rocky shook his thoughts.
"I gotta stop thinking about this..." He said quietly to himself. " But if I don't find out this curiosity will kill me soon." He moaned. "Come on, Rocky...focus on what's important. I gotta have self-control. That-that's important."
Now Rocky knew the consequences he would face if Ryder found out again about his curiosity. His curiosity in the past did not do him justice. He remembered exactly what happened. A bulldog named Spike was always curious about things, especially Rocky and his inventions. He was a bully and always picked on poor Rocky when he was inventing in an alley. Sometimes Spike would break his inventions other times he would force Rocky to bring him stuff otherwise he would feel a whole world of pain to which Rocky didn't hesitate. One day however he did manage to get his revenge, curious to see how Spike felt if someone else was bullying him for a change. However that unfortunate predicament ended the bulldog's life and Rocky vowed to Ryder never to do something like that again. Spike was the one who actually taught Rocky to be curious about things even though he was a bad pup in Rocky's life. That was the only thing Spike was nice about.
'Thanks a lot, Spike.' Rocky muttered. 'However I wish you were never dead. I'm sorry...but maybe it was for the best because that way you wouldn't bully others anymore.'
Rocky didn't know exactly what to do. Was he to act on his curiosity or to ignore it? He knew the latter was the right answer however ignoring it meant he would go through the pain of not knowing Marshall's secret at all and he didn't want to do that to himself. 'Chase already knows I'm up to something. And he's probably gonna try to stop me, that's his choice. I've already made up my mind. I'm gonna find out exactly what Marshall's secret is and if there is a connection with Everest somewhere. Most likely there is. He's been spending an awful amount of time with her. Perhaps he-'
Rocky heard his name called from beside him.
"Rocky. You sure you don't want to have some fun?" Ryder asked him, concerned for him because a pup like Rocky was meant to have fun not sit around doing nothing.
Rocky shook his head. "No, thanks Ryder. I might go to the edge but I'm not gonna jump in."
"Understood. You want to come with me and get some ice-cream and lemonade?"
"Sure." Rocky replied and they got up and left.
