Chapter 10 - The Red Carpet - Part II

(6:14pm)

The stars were continuing to gather as the program came back from commercial break.

"And we are back with Fannies Watch! I am your host, Sunny Day!" Miss Day spoke into the mic. "We're going to interview the next person that is arriving to the red carpet, the author of the Remember the Mat series, and the winner of the 2017 Best Story and Writer awards, Mr. Daccu65!"

Daccu, one of the most decorated authors of the Kimmunity, came out of the stretch limousine. He was wearing a blue tux.

"Daccu, you have been nominated for ten awards tonight, including three for Tumultuous Harmony and for best story and writer of this year. Do you find it surprising to be nominated many times?"

"No, it doesn't surprise me one bit, to be exact," Daccu replied. "I've always brought a lot of good ideas to the Kimmunity and they have been successful, as my number of followers and reviews can attest to. Tumultuous Harmony and The Devil You Know are just two more examples in my long resume!"

"Good luck for tonight!" Miss Day replied before Daccu headed onto the red carpet amid a sea of paparazzi.

The next stretch limousine then pulled up.

"And who could that be?"

The door popped open.

"It is Eoraptor, the famed Kigo author who won three awards last year!"

Raptor then stepped out of the limo wearing a white tux.

"What do you think so far on what happened last year?" Miss Day asked.

Raptor replied, "I was very prolific last year, finishing the likes of Bar Hopping and Risque. And I thank the readers and reviewers for honoring me tonight with seven nominations. I hope to win at least a few of them.

"Are you surprised Bar Hopping was nominated for Best Story?" Miss Day then questioned.

"To be honest, I'm not!" Raptor said. "The number of faves and follows will tell you it's quite a popular story for those looking at class reunions!"

"Good luck for tonight, Raptor!" Miss Day replied as Raptor went onto the red carpet.

The next stretch limousine then pulled up into the pavilion. And out came both F86Sabre53, known as Sabre in the fandom, and famed twenty-six-year old tap-dancer, Anna Stoppable.

Anna was in a light-blue dress with a left-side slit and t-strap tap shoes. Silver wrist and ankle bracelets, pearl earrings, and a silver necklace with a round blue pendent hanging from it completed the look. Her hair was in a ponytail. She was also carrying a duffel bag.

Sabre was wearing a tuxedo with a light blue vest and bow tie.

"And please welcome the author of the This Is Our Year series, F86Sabre53 to the show, who is tied for second place in the number of nominations with fourteen, including for the CPNeb Award, and Best Story and Author of 2019. And his famed tap-dancing partner character, Anna Stoppable!"

"It's a pleasure to be here tonight!" Sabre replied. "I am honored that This Is Our Year has been selected among many stories as one of the best of 2019. And I'd like to thank everyone who has read and reviewed the story and followed along Kim and Ron on their epic journey through Hudson River University, and all the ups and downs of college."

"You had been nominated nine times in last year's Fannies but came up short. Do you hope to win tonight?" Miss Day asked.

"Oh yeah, based on the reaction I have received from my stories, I would win at least a few awards tonight!" Sabre replied.

"And Anna, what do you have in that duffel bag?" Miss Day then questioned.

Anna replied, "Oh yeah, this is my dance costume for my tap dancing solo once the Fannies come to an official end. I am going to be tap dancing to 'Sing, Sing, Sing' by Benny Goodman. Sharper decided to add that in at the very last minute."

Miss Day then added "I bet it is going to be a wonderful performance by you, Anna! And good luck to you tonight, Sabre!"

The crowds began to cheer louder and the paparazzi flashed their cameras even more.

"I think we've come to the final stretch limo coming up!" Miss Day exclaimed. "This is going to be the one with the new host and co-host, plus the Possible-Stoppable family!"

"And here comes the star of tonight's show! The hostess and co-hostess of the 15th KP Fannies Awards: Gothicthundra and BCBDrums!" Both GT and BCB came out of the limo, GT with the BE4000 slung over her shoulder.

BCBDrums was wearing an off the shoulder royal blue floor length mermaid gown covered in waves of sequins, including over the long, lacy sleeves. Her golden-brown hair flowed in wavy curls down her back, and she bore an excited and slightly nervous smile.

GT had a large, bumpy, suspicious-looking duffle bag under the BE4000 as she followed BCB in a navy strapless knee-length dress that was layered in sheer fabrics that turned into sparkles at the waist. Her black hair was pulled up in messy curls and she wore a leather ribbon necklace. Her teal converse-style shoes looked out of place as she deviously smirked at the bag.

"How does it feel to host the Fannies for the first time ever?" Miss Day asked, holding the mic in front of GT.

"Technically it's my second time... I was...somewhat here last year... BCB?" GT replied before turning to her partner-in-crime.

"I was in attendance last year as a presenter," BCB recalled. "Hosting is a tremendous honor! It's also an honor to be nominated for the first time!"

Miss Day then added, "Now, you, GT, lead all authors with eighteen nominations followed by BCB, who is tied in second with fourteen. Do you think the two of you are going to win any awards tonight?"

GT replied amidst all of the camera flashes, "I don't know... It would be nice but I'm really here for fun and chaos...and Drakgo... I'm not gonna sugar coat it."

BCB said, "There are a few things I was nominated for that I am very proud of, so it would be nice to win for some of those. But honestly, like GT, I'm here for Drakgo. And I always get some good fic recommendations out of the Fannies!"

The stretch limo that carried both GT and BCB drove away and the final limousine was coming up. The cameras intensified their picture-taking.

Miss Day then exclaimed, "Here they come! The greatest crime-fighting duo of all time! Please welcome Kim and Ron Possible-Stoppable!"

A swarm of cheers and camera lights from smartphones were the greeting as Kim and Ron got out of the limousine. Kim was in a beautiful long white dress with large diamond dangling earrings. The dress had a slit so that she would have some freedom to walk.

Ron was in a three-piece black tuxedo with black dress shoes. Justin was in a little tux and Alexa was in a baby-blue dress.

"Welcome, Mrs. Possible-Stoppable. How does it feel to be here tonight?" Miss Day asked.

It's totally amazing and fun to be here tonight with my lovely husband of ten years..." Kim replied.

"...And counting..." Ron interjected.

"Ron..." Kim smirked, "...I'm talking to the nice lady here!"

"Whoops...sorry, KPS!" Ron replied.

"And our wonderful two kids!" Kim continued.

"What do you think about this year's field of nominees?" Miss Day then questioned.

"Arguably, I think it is the most balanced that I've seen in years," Kim agreed.

"Yep, their stories are all bon-diggety!" Ron exclaimed.

"And you hope that nothing goes wrong with tonight's ceremony? It seems that every year, something weird usually happens when Sharper was hosting the Fannies," Miss Day asked.

Ron laughed. "Don't worry, me and KPS will have everything under control! We'll do everything to protect GT and Drums!"

BCB tried to hide her frown. "Excuse me, Ron?" she said quietly. "I actually go by BCB."

Ron corrected his mistake. "Whoops...sorry, my bad!"

Kim intervened, "What he was trying to say is that Global Justice will make sure that no incidents shall happen with tonight's ceremony."

BCB looked between Kim and GT thoughtfully. "I'm still new to this... Has something happened every year?"

Kim replied, "Yeah...there was the incident with Junior singing and the JARVIS II from the 9th..."

Ron added, "The time with those big roaches and Slipgate's power suit in the 10th!"

"There was also Whitem, CB and..." Kim said with a shudder of the name, "...Sentinel...thinking that there was a ghost in the 11th."

"And who could ever forget the 12th..." Ron added.

"Oh yes... Sharper and his whole idea of having his...Queen..." Kim gritted through her teeth, not wanting to mention Bonnie's name in her kids' presence, "...having a lavish opera house only for her to use as a platform for nearly humiliating me."

"And Sarah getting captured...that was not really badical at all," Ron replied.

"I've missed a lot..." said BCB, glancing at her friend again.

"Dr. Director getting kidnapped in the 13th and Milo Murphy, of all people, damaging the theater due to Murphy's Law in the 14th," Kim recalled.

"And you remember last year... Will Du joining forces with Carmella Sweets," GT added about her own character, "to take over the ceremony with mind control cupcakes."

BCB's eyes were wide. "I hope...Global Justice steps it up this year. It would be nice to prevent an incident before it happens."

Kim replied, "Don't worry, BCB, we'll make sure that nothing freakishly weird happens!"

BCB's unease lessened at hearing Kim's confidence, but she couldn't help but be suspicious. She gave a knowing glance to her friend.

GT returned the look with a broad smirk and hefted the suspicious-looking duffel bag higher on her shoulder.

"Thank you for your time, Mr. and Mrs. Possible-Stoppable!" Miss Day replied. "And this has been Fannies Watch! Let's go inside the Timothy North Memorial Theater for the beginning of the ceremony!"
