Bloodbunny 2

Chapter 8

The Attack

By: SmilingDolphins

Nick, Judy, Crodut, and Dina were playing cards when the badger burst through the doors. It was raining outside and the badger was sopping wet. He fell to the ground. He had cuts in multiple places.

"Cappi?" Crodut said, surprised. Nick and Judy recognized him as the badger who had delivered their invitation. Crodut ran over to him and helped him stand.

"He is coming. I tried to slow him down..." The badger groaned.

"Who's coming?" Nick demanded

The badger lifted his head.

"Dagger... Proditor." The badger slumped.

"Cappi!" Luca came running down the stairs, Alina and Sorina right behind him.

"Who is Dagger Proditor?" Judy asked. Luca paled when he heard the name.

NO! Not now. They are not ready. He thought.

"Alina, take Judy and alert the rest of the clan. I want Borya down here."

Alina nodded and motion for Judy to follow her. She led Judy through the halls to a door she had never seen before. Alina opened the door and led her up a spiral staircase. At the top, Alina opened a trap door and stepped onto the highest point in the castle. Judy could see for miles around, but her main focus was on the large golden bell shining in the middle of the tower.

"Sound the call, Judy. Hit it as hard as you can. Usually, Borya does it, but we don't have time. Come back downstairs after you ring it 3 times understood?" Judy nodded.

Alina disappeared down the staircase. Judy looked at the bell and stepped up to it. She raised her fist and struck it as hard as she could. The bell swung forward silent at first. But as it came swinging back, the large metal ball hit its sides, sending an ear-numbing chime in every direction. Judy waited for the bell to stop ringing, and hit it again. Then a third time. To the north, she saw black streaks begin to appear in the city. They flashed for a second, then were gone, only for another to flash somewhere else. To the east and west, Judy could see trees rustling. They shook and bent. To the south, down near the gates, Judy swore she could feel... something. A presence. An evil one. Judy had no time to get lost in the castle so she jumped out of the tower. She flew through the air and landing in front of the castle. Everyone except Cappi was standing outside, eyes glaring at the gate. None of them even glanced at the fact Judy had just landed next to them, superhero style.

Then a Jaguar materialized next to the family as well. Then an otter. Then 2 grizzly bears. More and more vampires appeared. Around 100 vampires now stood in front of the castle.

The family, including Nick and Judy, stood in front of them.

She could still feel the dark presence behind the gate. The woods around them went silent. Then the gates exploded open, the mental bent and twisted.

Luca raised his arm.

"PRIMA CLAN..." He shouted. He brought his arm down. "ATTACK!"

It had been raining, but then lightning flashed. A vampire ran forwards and Judy noticed he was glowing brightly. The vampire lept and suddenly a crack split the air. A blot of lightning hit the vampire but didn't seem to affect him. The bolt bounced off him into the darkness, where it seemed to strike something. A small dagger made of silver came sailing out of the darkness and impaled the vampire in the chest. Many more vampires lept into the darkness that seemed to be moving closer and closer to the castle. All of the vampires came flying back. They slammed into a few others and crumpled to the ground.

Luca raised his hand again, and all of the vampires took a step back, except for the family, Nick, and Judy. The darkness continued moving forward. A vampire was laying on the ground groaning in pain. He screamed as the darkness enveloped him. Seconds later his, limbs came flying out of the darkness. His head rolled to a stop just a few feet away. Finally, the darkness stopped. Judy could make out a figure walking through it. The figure stepped into the light and Judy gasped. It was a black lion vampire with no fangs and the brightest red eyes she had ever seen. He was wearing a long black robe. On his belt were multiple silver daggers.

The lion smiled and Judy felt a strange lingering sensation. She looked around her and saw that almost every female vampire's knees were wobbling. Some of them collapsed to the ground and some of them kneeled. None of them looked happy about it though. Their faces were clenched in concentration. The only females able to remain standing were Alina and her. But Judy could see that Alina's face was beaded in sweat. But she felt perfectly fine. The lion glanced in distaste at Alina, but his eyes widened slightly when he saw the vampire bunny standing, looking completely in control. His eyes narrowed. He smiled even wider, and Alina too fell to her knees. But Judy still stood there. The lion frowned and looked toward Luca.

"Hello, Luca." The lion's voice was like a thousand knives, all of them scratching across stone.

"You traitor!" Crodut howled. He charged forward, but the lion simply grabbed him by the neck and flung him to the side.

"Sit down little one." He said. He looked over at the fox and bunny that stood next to them.

"Talk about the two worst possible vampires. A fox? A bunny?" He said laughing. "I am curious as to why the rabbit does not succumb to my... effects."

"But no matter. She will be dead soo-" The words were barely out of his mouth when Nick growled and barked. The lion was not caught off guard by the fact he was being attacked. He simply held out his hand, expecting to absorb it like most things. What did catch him off guard was the fact that when the sound wall slammed into him, he completely went flying. He went sailing through the darkness. Judy head a thud and the sound of bricks breaking, along with a lion's roar. She felt the presence move and she shot out her hand. The silver dagger appeared, stopped from hitting Nick's heart by her. The lion came sailing out of the darkness. Judy pulled her fist back and threw it forward. It connected with the lion's face and once again, much to his surprise, he went flying backward, this time over the wall and into a tree.

The darkness disappeared. The lion jumped onto the wall and pointed at them all.

"This is not over. I will be back, and Prima Clan will fall." The lion roared and disappeared. Slowly, the females started to stand back up. They looked angry, and those with mates looked even angrier.

"What happened?" Judy asked Alina.

Alina looked exhausted.

"It's called 'charm'" She explained. "When a vampire has it, it can use it to dampen the senses and willpower of the opposite sex. Sorina has it."

Alina gestured to her daughter, who also looked exhausted. Though Sorina had looked like that a lot recently. Ever science she tried to rape Nicholas, her face sagged, and her eyes always seemed bloodshot.

A thought suddenly occurred to Judy.

"You, you don't think Sorina was using charm on Nick, right."

Alina looked at her.

"No, I believe she was." Alina looked over at her daughter. "I think... Nick loved you too much to succumb to it though."

Judy placed her hand over her mouth. At that moment, she loved Nick more than anything.

Judy looked at the young Lynx, who looked shameful, weary, and sad.

I think I should pay her a visit. Judy told herself as she helped a few vampires to their feet.

The young Lynx turned around and went back inside. Nobody except Judy saw the single tear that fell to the ground as she did.
