Hey everyone this is Chapter 7 to Legacy of the Speed Force.

Hope you all enjoy it.

Midway City.

Patty Spivot's Home.

Present Day.

Once Barry entered Patty's house, carrying the food he brought, the speedster couldn't help and admire how 'homey' it is, sure it isn't the biggest house but it is a nice one.

Patty brings them to the kitchen so they can start eating the food he brought to her home.

"You remembered what I liked?" Patty asked.

Barry cringed for the speedster forgot and had no idea how to tell her their son from an erased future in the year 2049.

"Not entirely...it's kind of complicated," Barry awkwardly explains.

Patty cocked a brow at his comment.

"Let me guess has something to do with your powers?" Patty asked again.

Barry let out a soft chuckle, he missed their chats honestly.

"It turns out my daughter with Iris, Nora came back in time from the year 2049, she came back in time because she didn't have anyone to teach her with her powers.." Barry tells her truthfully.

Patty is shocked to hear this, she knew from Barry's tone that he wasn't done so she let him continue speaking.

"According to a newsletter in 2024, I vanish in this event called 'The Infinite Crisis'...but in truth, I die in that Crisis.." Barry said sadly.

As he shows her the future newsletter that makes her gasp with the headline.

'April 25th, 2024.
FLASH MISSING DURING INFINITE CRISIS'.

Patty was speechless at seeing the headline and stared at Barry with major concern in her eyes, trying not to cry.

"After I 'vanish', Iris severed ties with everyone connected to the hero lifestyle...she put a power suppressor on Nora..she didn't read the label that she had to change it every two years...Nora never knew she had it...Iris didn't know the power suppressor came with side effects that include possible stunted growth, mental health issues, lack of impulse control and uncontrolled anger," Barry explains.

This brought confusion to Patty after she heard this.

"And how does it connect to me?" Patty calmly asks him.

Barry let out a soft chuckle at this, thinking about their son.

"When we were up against Cicada. I tested myself on a metahuman cure that can get rid of a metahuman's powers. I foolishly let Nora be on her own with Cisco and Caitlin to rescue Iris...she messed up and someone died. So she kept changing the timeline to see a better outcome, she changed the timeline 52 times in such a short amount of time. If Cisco hadn't figured it out sooner, Nora would have done it several more times but Cisco did come up with a plan to rescue Iris, but it came at a cost," Barry sadly explains.

Patty is just speechless at what she is hearing and barely touching her food, something Barry noticed and said nothing as he continued.

"Little things changed according to Cisco after checking on the time vault..not long later a speedster dressed in a way nicer but battle-damaged Flash suit popped into Star Labs. After Caitlin patched up his wounds...he told us who he was," Barry tells her.

But before Barry can finish, Patty knew who it was.

"Our son," Patty asks softly.

Barry gave her a sad nod as the response.

"Apparently in the future in 2029 his powers activate...he took on the Flash mantle when he turned 21...when Nora changed the timeline 52 times. It destroyed their future...our son barely made it out alive when their timeline was erased," Barry responds to her.

Patty was in tears, knowing their son is destined to become the Flash in a supposed future, but Barry places his hand on hers.

"Patty...he's alive and well, you raised him to be one of the greatest men I have met...it was through him I even found out about him," Barry gently assures her.

Grabbing his phone and showing her a photo of Henry, she stared at the photo of the father and son in their Flash suits.

Once Patty looked at the photo of the grown man besides Barry made her gasp, staring at her future son who was barely taller than Barry in the photo and dressed in a Flash suit that was more colourful and the added yellow boots and bigger lightning bolt emblem, but what got her was the smile.

Seeing how obvious the smile made the two related made her smile as she looks towards Barry.

"He does have a way nicer Flash suit," Patty proudly says.

Her comment made Barry chuckle.

"Cisco studied it for hours and it wasn't until Henry told us he constructed the suit out of speed force energy... it takes a lot of concentration to do so," Barry says to her.

Barry could see the smile on Patty's face, she was so proud of knowing her son could do such feats in the future or now former future, but looking back at the photo of Barry and their future son and noticed something.

"He looks a lot like your father, but I never got where he got the hair and eyes from," Patty honestly admits.

"That's what Joe said too. He got the eyes and hair from my mom, she had red hair and green eyes. I can see you in him too, he has your nose and cheekbones," Barry said to her.

"That's not all Patty..we have a grandson named Bart Allen. Swipe to the left," Barry says to her.

Patty does so and sees a photo of the three speedsters, Barry was on the left side, Henry on the right and Bart stood between them dressed in their suits.

"He looks like you from old photos at Joe's," Patty tells him after seeing the photo.

"Yeah that's what everyone who met him kept saying...he goes by Impulse as his codename...he's faster than I was when I first started," Barry said with a humorous tone to him and pride.

Patty smiles at Barry upon hearing this, feeling sorry for her son's future self-knowing he lost his future but is happy to know he still has his son, only to take a look of confusion when she begins doing the math.

"He became a father at a young age?" Patty said in shock.

"Yeah, he met his wife in college and they eloped a month later. You and her parents tried to sabotage the marriage and only stopped when you guys found out she was pregnant," Barry said before ending it with a chuckle.

Patty is stunned to hear this at the thought of aiding on sabotaging her son's marriage but understood her future self's reasoning for he is her baby boy.

"He is faster than me Patty. A part of me is so proud of him reaching a level I haven't achieved yet. But at the same time, it makes me feel old if my kid is faster than me," Barry tells Patty.

Both couldn't help but chuckle at his confession.

"To be fair he seems to have more experience than you," Patty assures Barry.

Hearing this made Barry smile, a part of him wished he didn't push her away, but Patty gently strokes his face.

"I'm sorry for not telling you," Patty said sadly.

Barry shook his head, he knew she only did it to protect their son and he is grateful for it.

"You were being a mother Patty, there is no shame on following your instincts," Barry assures her.

The two stood there in silence until footsteps can be heard, the two turn around to see a little boy dressed in a Flash onesie with his short red-brown hair sticking up with his piercing green eyes staring at them.

"Mommy," The child calls out to Patty.

Barry froze at seeing his toddler son, he couldn't help but cry once he laid eyes on him.

"Hey, sweety," Patty greets their son.

Toddler Henry is just staring at him.

"Who's he?" Henry asks.

Patty smiles at their son than to Barry.

"This is your daddy," Patty tells their son.

When Barry saw the smile on their son's face, he couldn't stop the ever-growing smile on his face.

"Daddy?" Toddler Henry asks him.

Barry nods to his son, kneeling to his son's level.

"I'm your daddy," Barry tearfully tells his son as he brings up his arms.

The toddler stares at him for a brief moment, before giving a response.

"Daddy!" The toddler shouted as he runs towards him.

Barry caught his son and wrapped him in his arms, Barry held onto his son for a good amount of time and struggling to let out his tears, but once he saw Patty was crying at the scene, he caved and wept.

For he finally met his son; correction his son from the present and plans on being there for his son, but he knew sooner or later, he would have to return home and confront Iris about what she did.

Barry chose to ignore those negative thoughts, for now, he would spend the day in Midway City with Patty and their son.

Central City.

Central City Police Department.

Present Day.

Joe got a text from Barry, about a half-hour ago, he made it to Midway City and is with Patty and present-day Henry.

This didn't surprise the detective on Barry going to Midway City to see them, he was just surprised Barry didn't leave sooner to meet them, but from what is going on lately, he understood why.

Barry deserves to spend time with his son, a son he didn't know of until said son's future self came to the present.

What broke his heart was Barry's message of Iris.

He didn't want to believe it at first, but deep down he knew it was true.

Iris robbed Henry of a father, all because of fear Barry would leave her to be with Patty and be a father to his son with her.

The detective plans on talking with his daughter, Barry has been through enough as it is.

Joe was now leaving his office and bumps into Captain Singh.

"You alright, Joe?" The Captain asks.

Joe shook his head.

"Not really, Captain. Some family drama, I doubt you wanna hear," Joe tells Singh.

Singh didn't look too surprised.

"I'm all ears," Captain Singh says to him.

Shocking the detective on what he just heard.

"Seriously?" Joe asked his captain.

"I noticed your behaviour changed within the past few hours, Joe. Whatever it is, it has to be bad," Singh tells him.

Joe let out a sigh before he decided to tell his captain.

"Yesterday...Barry found out he has a son in Midway City...Patty Spivot is the mom...when Barry was gone for six months, she tempted to reach out...she didn't get an answer and left a voicemail...Barry never got it, turns out Iris is the reason why...my daughter deleted the voicemail and acted like it never happened or did she plan on telling him," Joe began explaining to his captain.

The detective didn't notice how heartbroken his voice was when he began telling Singh, who looked just as shocked upon the explanation.

"Shit," Singh said after a long pause.

Joe nods at the captain's words.

"I'm on my way to go see Iris, I want to know why she did it. I need to know why she was planning on letting Barry's boy grow up without a father, making the poor boy believe Barry wanted nothing to do with him," Joe sadly tells Singh.

The captain of the C.C.P.D took a deep breath, before facing Joe.

"I'll let another detective take over your last few hours, go see your daughter and get those answers, Joe. Barry deserves to be there for his boy, it's time to break that Allen cycle of boys growing up without their fathers," Singh responds to Joe.

Upon hearing this, Joe let out a sigh of relief, the sooner he confronts his daughter, the better it will be.

"Thanks, Captian," Joe thanks his captain.

Before leaving, Singh stops him.

"What's the little guy's name?" Singh asks.

"Henry Joseph Spivot," Joe answers Singh with a smile on his face.

Just as he leaves the precinct to go confront his daughter, he knows it should be Barry to talk with Iris, but Barry deserves to spend time with his son.

The boy deserves to have some memories of his father if they cannot find a way to save Barry in the future.

Central City.

Star Labs.

One Hour Later.

Caitlin was watching Henry train his son on improving his speed, seeing the father and son bonding made her happy.

Their future is gone, but they still have each other, Caitlin noticed right away on how much Henry is more relaxed with his son here.

Which was shown after he learned what Iris did to Bart, but laughed once he saw the footage of Caitlin/Frost scaring her badly than Cisco using his powers to send her out of Star Labs.

Cisco snuck up behind her and unintentionally scaring her.

"Don't' do that, Cisco!" Caitlin yells at her best friend.

As her eyes turned blue briefly, scaring Cisco in the process.

"Didn't mean to scare you, Cat'," Cisco says to her with his arms up.

Caitlin's eyes revert to normal, as the duo watch the footage of Henry and Bart training.

"It's kind of adorable, isn't it?" Caitlin asks Cisco.

As they keep watching the footage, Bart tries to catch his father, only for Henry to easily evade his son's attempts on catching him.

"It's so adorable, we just need Barry here and it'll be three generations playing tag," Cisco responds to Caitlin.

Cisco had a smile on his face and begins saving the footage, making Caitlin raise a look at him.

"What? It's for Barry, so he can watch it later," Cisco explains to Caitlin.

Only to stop when Henry falls on the floor and lets out a cry of agony.

"Dad?!" Bart cries out.

Cisco and Caitlin immediately run towards the training room, with Ralph and Nora already there.

"What happened?" Caitlin asks them.

Ralph shrugs his shoulders.

"No idea, we showed up just when this happened," Ralph answers Caitlin.

Nora looks worried upon seeing her brother's condition.

"We gotta take him to the infirmary, hurry!" Caitlin yells out to them.

Ralph and Cisco pick up Henry, while Nora comforts Bart, who froze in fear at the sight of his father's condition.

However, as Cisco grabs a hold of Henry, he gets a vibe and gets a handful of visions.

The first vibe was a very young Henry, looking three-years-old, running towards Barry, with Barry being in tears once he wraps his arms around Henry.

"This is your daddy," Patty says to toddler Henry.

"Daddy?" The toddler Henry said to Barry.

"I'm your daddy," Barry tells his son.

The second vibe was Henry watching TV with Patty and Barry, with Henry sitting in the middle of them...watching Singin' in the Rain.

"I haven't seen this move in a while," Barry says to Patty.

"Same here, and it's our son's first time watching it," Patty tells Barry.

The third vibe was Barry playing with Henry on the floor, the child's innocent laugh made Barry's face light up with joy.

"Oh, you got me! I never stood a chance!" Barry said in a defeated voice.

Making the young Henry giggle, with Patty smiling at the scene before her and is recording the moment.

The fourth vibe is the three of them eating take out in the kitchen, Henry doesn't like the food on his plate.

"Henry, sweety take a bite," Patty said to her son.

But the toddler Henry shook his head, not wanting to eat the food in front of him, only for Barry to use his fork and grab a piece of the food and began eating it.

"Mmm, it's good," Barry said with a happy look.

Once seeing his father like it, the young child slowly takes a bite of it, while watching his father, to see if he is still eating it, leaving Patty to chuckle at the scene.

As the child took a bite of it and shows a liking to it, Barry smiles at his son for liking the food as the boy began wolfing down the food, Patty can be seen giggling at Barry.

"He gets that from you," Patty says to Barry.

Making Barry laugh in return.

"Truly, his father's son," Barry proudly admits.

The fifth vibe turns dark when Thawne and the second Reverse-Flash at the house, Barry is seen injured and the second Reverse-Flash has his foot on Barry's chest, while Thawne has Patty by her shirt.

"Iris sends her regards, Ms. Spivot," Thawne says to Barry in his sinister voice.

Before Thawne draws a knife and drives it into Patty's chest, killing her in front of Barry, with the injured speedster being helpless to save her.

"Patty!" Barry cried out in agony.

The second Reverse-Flash began stomping on Barry's chest to stop him from getting up, making Barry cry out in pain on his chest being stomped on.

"Why are you doing this?" Barry tearfully asked the speedster on his chest.

The mad speedster laughed sadistically before answering.

"To get rid of the competition for your title...father," The second Reverse-Flash proudly proclaims

The speedster points towards the child Henry, who is seen crying over his mother's dead body.

Cisco snaps out of the vibe, sweating bullets and having a look of horror in his face with Caitlin and Ralph looking worried.

"Cisco, what happened?" Caitlin asked in a concerning manner.

Still processing the vibes he has seen, he turns to the unconscious Henry before giving them an answer.

"Barry visiting Patty and Henry in Midway City is changing this Henry's memories," Cisco half-answers Caitlin's question.

Ralph quickly saw that Cisco wasn't telling the whole truth.

"Don't lie to us, Cisco. Tell us everything you have seen," Ralph said to Cisco.

"I saw Thawne...and his copycat at Patty's house. The copycat maimed Barry and has his foot on Barry's chest..." Cisco began explaining.

But the vision of seeing Barry being helpless to see Thawne kill Patty still horrified him, seeing the toddler Henry crying over his mother's dead body broke Cisco's heart.

"Thawne kills Patty in front of Barry...like how he killed Barry's mom...Henry was in the middle of it and watched Patty die," Cisco sadly tells Caitlin and Ralph.

This horrifies Caitlin and Ralph, the former of which began shaking with fear before her eyes turn blue.

"What else, Cisco," Frost demands Cisco.

Cisco let out a sigh before he spoke.

"Thawne...he said 'Iris sends her regards', Barry asked the copycat on why he is helping Thawne, the sick bastard told him 'To get rid of the competition for your title...father'," Cisco answers.

Ralph is horrified by the answer, while Frost is struggling to contain her anger at what she is hearing, as she plans to leave Star Labs to confront Iris.

Ralph stops her, giving her a pleading look to her.

"Don't, Cait'," Ralph pleads to Frost.

Not wanting Frost to do something that Caitlin will regret.

"She needs to pay," Frost sternly says to Ralph.

The Elongated Man shook his head with his hand still on her arm.

"Caitlin needs to be here for Bart, that kid is freaking out," Ralph says to Frost.

Pointing to Bart who is on his knees, crying at seeing his father's condition.

"That kid lost his entire timeline, his mom and sister, and probably thought, he was losing his dad!" Ralph again spoke up towards Frost.

Nora could barely calm Bart, who pushed away his aunt, leaving Nora to stand up and tearfully walk away.

"Right now, Caitlin. We need you for Bart, that kid is breaking and he needs the best doctor in Central City!" Ralph boldly says to Frost.

Once Frost saw the broken look of Bart, Frost saw a broken Barry and allowed Caitlin to regain control as she left to go see Bart.

Cisco is amazed at what Ralph just did, managing to stop Frost from possibly going after Iris and most likely killing her.

"How?" Cisco simply asks.

Ralph let out a deep breath before he answered Cisco.

"I just thought of what would Barry do in this situation," Ralph answers softly.

Cisco pats Ralph's shoulder.

"You're a good guy, Ralph," Cisco sincerely says to his friend.

As the duo kept watch on Henry's vitals, while secretly watching Caitlin being able to calm Bart down as the child places his head on her stomach, as she wrapped her arms around the crying child.

"We need to warn Barry," Ralph says to Cisco.

With Cisco agreeing with Ralph as he began planning on what to do.

"I'm gonna start planning it, Ralph, stay here and keep Caitlin updated on Henry," Cisco tells Ralph.

As he departs and heads to his office to begin planning on stopping Thawne and the copycat...who is also the son of Barry.

With Cisco having a sad look on his face, knowing full well on who the insane speedster's mother is, and on how he plans on telling Barry the vision he got.

Central City.

Barry and Iris' Flat.

Present Day.

Joe finally arrived at the front door of Barry and Iris' flat, the detective knocks on the door, hearing no answer, Joe knocks on the door again.

Iris finally opens the door, looking surprised at seeing him.

Dad, what are you doing here?" Iris asked curiously.

Joe let out a deep breath before facing his daughter.

"We need to talk, Iris," Joe said to his daughter.

Using his 'dad voice' on her, making her nod knowing it is serious.

As Joe enters the flat, he noticed another man in the kitchen, a tall, bi-racial man, dressed in a dark violet dress shirt with his sleeves rolled up, revealing burn scars on his arms and from what little, Joe could see on the man's chest, dark coloured pants with matching shoes, the man looks to be in his late twenties from what Joe could tell.

But Joe saw the look in the man's eyes, he was hiding something and he had a VERY bad feeling about it.

"Who is he?" Joe asked his daughter while slowly bringing out his gun.

Iris gestures her father to stop what he was doing.

"Dad, stop!" Iris begging her father.

Joe bitterly withdraws from grabbing his gun.

"Who is he, Iris?" Joe sternly asks again.

Iris smiles proudly at the man before them.

"This is Daniel West-Allen. Me and Barry's son from the future," Iris proudly answers Joe.

The young man before Joe walked up towards him.

"Papa Joe! It's been a while," Daniel says to Joe.

As the grandfather and grandson hug, Joe wanted to be happy about seeing his newfound grandson, once they let go of the hug.

Joe still couldn't help but feel something was terribly off about Daniel, as he quickly noticed Daniel's eyes flickered briefly of red and violet sparks.

The same colour as Eobard Thawne's.
