11. Home
Izuku was excused for the rest of the week. All Might recommend that he stay at his home rather than the dorms for now. He took the advice. Before he left he apologized to his classmates. He wanted to be honest. He told them everything about his pregnancy. Everything but who were the potential fathers.
The class was floored. They had assumed it was Uraraka after Bakugos outburst that singled her out. Ashido had stood up and apologized to Izuku in front of the class as well. She explained when she saw his phone, she went to change the contact names as a prank. She saw the sonogram and freaked out, telling everyone in the room, including Uraraka. Uraraka had texted Izuku about the slip up but he didn't read her text. They all apologized to him for gossiping and invading his personal business. Izuku accepted their pleas, and was happy to get that off his chest. He walked to his home alone, making sure no one was following him.
He entered the apartment, head hanging. He explained everything again to his mother. She was upset but knew this might happen. She comforted her son, inviting him to stay as long as he needed to.
He laid on his couch mindlessly squeezing his resistance grip. Thoughts poured in and out of his head, thinking of what he was going to say to the two boys. He sat up, traded his grip for his phone and saw the countless missed messages from Shoto and Bakugo. Some of them angry, some sad, but all of them questions. Who is she? How long? Why? Guilt was killing him. He put the phone down, clutching his stomach.
"I have to tell them. One is the father. He deserves it," his thoughts repeated over and over. A horrific sound came from the door.
"DEKU I KNOW YOU'RE FUCKING HERE!" Bakugo opened the door, ignoring manners. Izuku quickly ducked on the far side of the couch.
"Katsuki, stop right there," Inko quickly intervened, "who said you could come in?"
"Deku did when he CHEATED ON ME!" He shouted loud enough for the whole apartment building to hear. A second knock came from the already open door. Bakugo scoffed.
"What the hell are you doing here, icyhot?! Did you follow me?! Get the fuck out," he growled.
"I did," Shoto was stern but calm, "Izuku cheated on me too, I get to have an answer just like you," he defended.
"Now hold it you two!" Inko tried to act tougher, "I know you're angry. What my Izuku did wasn't nice! But you both need to show me respect!" The two didn't answer, "good. So, you know about the baby,".
"Hell yes we know!" Bakugo yelled slightly quieter.
"Do you know who he got pregnant Ms. Midoriya," Shoto asked, not actually wanting to know.
"Oh. He didn't- I thought you both knew," she was a little surprised, "Izuku..." she looked back, hoping her son wouldn't mind, "there is a quirk that can be found in the men in my family. This quirk causes a uterus to grow in their bodies. Do you know what a uterus is?"
"It's what a girl has to have babies 'n shit," Bakugo scoffed. Shoto kept quiet.
"Well, Izuku has a uterus. Do you understand?" She asked again.
"Wh- he's. A quirk uterus?" He asked, confused. She nodded.
"You two... Izuku didn't get anyone else pregnant. He is pregnant himself," she sighed.
The boys stared at her, slowly taking in the information. Shotos face was straight, but he had figured it out.
"He's... pregnant," he started, "the way to get pregnant is..." he trailed off. Bakugo started understanding.
"Wait- your saying that nerd didn't get anyone pregnant? But he is pregnant with my..." his eyes became dark, he turned his face away.
"Yes, Izuku is pregnant with one of your baby's,". Izuku started crying silently. He felt like a coward, letting his mother tell them his secret. Bakugo said nothing, and Shoto stood there. He couldn't move. His body started freezing again. Inko noticed the sudden drop in temperature. "Calm down, Todoroki, it's okay, it might not even be yours," she attempted to comfort him.
"But... what if it's not... I.." his face contorted into a frown, tears started burning his eyes, "I don't care that he lied. I don't know why, but I know he's my soulmate," this shocked everyone.
"You're a fucking idiot," Bakugo growled, "You're nothing to Izuku. He's mine and so is that baby," he turned back around, his face was red, but he wasn't crying, "I've been with Deku since middle school, he loves me and he's going to be mine," he declared. Shoto glared at the blonde boy.
"You two fight like cats and dogs, I bet you don't even know his nickname for you," Shotos straight face twitched with a smile.
"He has one for you too, icyhot," Bakugo shot back.
"Calm down," Inko put herself between them, "please. An apartment building isn't the place for a fight. I understand you're both angry, but both of you love my Izuku. But you need to understand that this is a dangerous time for him,". The two boys looked at eachother.
"Why?" Shoto asked. Inko sat at the table, and gestured for them to sit with her. As they moved Izuku moved around the couch again, keeping himself hidden.
"If he was a pregnant girl, this time would still be dangerous. It's still early in the pregnancy and there can be complications if he's stressed,". Izuku briefly remembered the doctor saying that. "And since Izuku is a boy with a quirk that can get him pregnant," she suddenly became somber, "no matter how perfect his pregnancy could be... There's still a high chance that the baby might not make it," this stunned Izuku. His doctor said nothing along those lines. He remembered the doctor talking to his mom outside of the examination room, he didn't really notice at the time.
"Why?" Bakugo was quiet.
"Because his body isn't physically made to have a baby. If the baby makes it to full term, he'll need a C-section. And if the baby is... alive, it might have mental or physical defects," Inko started crying, "I'm asking you boys... I know you're angry, and frustrated, but please... just be kind to him,". Izuku shook his head. He didn't know any of that. He thought he was going to be fine. The baby looked okay. He knew thousands of babies were born every day, but how could his potentially not survive?
He covered his mouth.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, "I'm so sorry,". His mother opened her mouth, but Shoto stood up, and looked over the couch down at the green mess of hair. He quickly made his way around the couch, then fell to the floor, gripping onto Izuku. He didn't say anything, he just held on to his friend. Inko and Bakugo stood up and watched them. Bakugo scowled.
"I'm not going to let him have Deku," he looked to Inko, "I don't give a damn whose kid it is. It's mine and so is he," he clenched his fist. Shoto looked up at his rival.
"Surprising how wrong people can be," he let out a smirk.
