"When we get a panic attack, our heartbeat rises, breath becomes shallow and fast, we start sweating, the body goes to overdrive and start to shiver and a knot in the stomach sends the chill down your spine."

Dr Calliope Torres was experiencing all of that as she paced the airport floor waiting for her family to arrive. Even though it was showing that flight has landed 15 minutes back, she couldn't see the faces she adores, amongst the crowd. The eagerness and anxiety to meet them were causing Callie to panic. So, she dialled the number of one person she thinks about whenever she is in trouble…. Clyde.

Over the past few weeks, Callie was in the constant state of dilemma. One day she will be excited and all chirpy about being with Sofia and Arizona in the same city. Other days, it will be the sheer fear of being so close to Arizona again. Among all these confusion and insanity one thing always remains perpetual, her best friend Clyde. She would call him anytime at night or would barge into his office in the hospital anytime she gets doubt and like a great friend he would patiently help her to push through.

Clyde on the other hand was very eager and curious to meet this Arizona Robbins who had his badass, ortho Goddess, best friend all flustered and panicky. Over the time he had known Callie, he has heard only a few stories about Arizona but out of that limited information he has deduced one thing that he was sure of; despite their past, Arizona was very special to Callie. So, now he was hoping that the said woman her best friend could see past their difference and come together again.

"Where are they?" Callie exclaimed over the phone as soon as Clyde picked up

"What?"

"Where are they? … why are they not here yet? … flight landed 15 minutes back" Callie asked

"Relax Torres… it's only been 15 minutes… may be the luggage is delayed… calm down" Clyde replied calmly.

"YES! the luggage... yes that might be it… luggage delay," Callie said sounding little relieved.

"What else would it be you idiot?…. Somebody kidnapped them in the sky?" Clyde laughed.

"Shut up… I was just… I was scared that…" Callie began but didn't finish her sentence.

"that... what?" Clyde enquired.

"Nothing"

"Torres!"

"I was scared that Arizona would change her mind at the last minute and cancel her move to new York" Callie admitted meekly.

"What?... you ARE an idiot… this, proves that… take a few deep breaths and wait patiently… they will be out in…." Clyde tried to explain but got cut short by the scream from the other side.

"I SEE HER…um… THEM… THEY ARE HERE!" Callie yelled excitedly as she saw a Blond and a little brunet head over the crowd.

Clyde couldn't help but laugh on Callie's condition "There you go Torres… enjoy with your family see you on Monday"

Callie didn't respond as she was no longer listening to Clyde or anything for that matter. As soon as Callie saw their faces it felt like her world stopped spinning, her heart was beating so hard that she felt like it will burst out of her chest.

"Ok Torres… get a grip… you are badass, and you can do this" Callie gave herself a quick pep talk and smiled while trying to control her breathing and heartbeat.

Arizona always hated flying but after the crash, she was even more terrified. 6 hours in a metal tube, 30,000 ft above the ground was worst of Arizona's nightmare. Every time Arizona would take a flight it was horrible for her and today was no different. The nervousness of meeting Callie was just the cherry on the top of the crap cake she was dealing with already. Just like Callie, she was in a state of turmoil. She knew that sooner or later they would have to have "talk" about themselves and she was dreading it. The last 5 and half hour, Arizona spent on thinking about how it's all gonna work; when she didn't reach to any conclusion, she just gave up and distracted herself by joining Sofia in watching princess diaries on iPad.

"MOMMY!" Exclaimed Sofia as she saw her other mother.

Arizona looked towards the direction Sofia was pointing at and as soon as she saw Callie's smiling face her own smile crept up to her lips involuntarily and when their eyes met for the first time in months, a sense of relief spread over Arizona … it's gonna be fine.

"Hey! kiddo" Callie ran forward and lifted Sofia of the ground to give her bone-crushing hug "God! You got so big in just a few months"

"yes! I am a big girl now" Sofia giggled.

Putting Sofia down, Callie looked at Arizona and butterflies erupted in her stomach as she advanced to give her a hug

"Hey!" Callie said taking a deep breath "I am so glad you are here"

Arizona smiled as she hugged her back "me too… me too"

The drive back home was filled with Sofia's excited chatter and Arizona's and Callie's occasional laughs. They didn't say much to each other. By the time they reached Callie's place, it was almost midnight.

"Callie… um… I am gonna leave… so if you just message me the hotel details, I'll be on my way" Arizona said after they settled Sofia's stuff in her room.

"Don't be ridiculous, I have made dinner… stay … please" Callie replied.

Before Arizona could counter, Sofia spoke up "Yes mama please stay, I don't want you to go"

Arizona took a defeated sigh "Okay… I'll stay for dinner…but send me the details of the hotel"

"Yup… I'll do that" Callie replied

Dinner was full of conversation. Arizona explained how Alex and Jo's wedding turned into April and Mathew's wedding and how they got married on a ferry boat instead, officiated by Meredith. By the end of the story, Callie was looking at the photos with wide eyes and amused expressions.

"You know, that's what I miss the most about Seattle, there is always a drama or turn of events, be it April first wedding or Meredith - Derek's wedding which turned into Alex – Izzie's wedding," Callie said laughing

Both women went quite but they both knew that they were thinking about the same thing; reliving the day when Alex and Izzie got married. It was the first event they went together to as a couple and the first time they had sex. Both of them smiled at the memory but cleared their throat as soon as they looked at each other.

With a slight blush of embarrassment, Callie tried to change the topic "So who wants ice cream?"

"ME!" Sofia exclaimed and Arizona just smiled and nodded.

After the dinner and dessert, Arizona repeated herself when she asked for the hotel details. As much as she was liking her present company, her leg was killing her and all she wanted to do was to remove her prosthetic, take a shower and sleep. It was a long day, and she was on her feet for most of it.

"Callie, details please…" Arizona asked again.

Till this time Callie was avoiding that but now she couldn't run from it anymore "Yeah! About that…"

Arizona raised her eyebrows in question

"You don't have booking for…um… today" Callie replied meekly.

"What!... Callie?... Why?" Arizona howled.

"I just thought… you know… you could stay here tonight… I … um.. have the guest bedroom" Callie said stuttering.

Arizona shook her head "Callie! you told me that you'll take care of the hotel and stuff… now you are telling me there is no booking for …"

"I did take care of it… you have a booking, but not for tonight..." Callie tried to explain and before Arizona could protest she rushed on "See, it's late and New York is not that safe… so you can stay here … " Callie looked at Sofia and quietly gestured her to insist.

"Please, please, please, mama… please stay here" Sofia brought out her best puppy dog eyes and pout to convince Arizona.

Arizona shook her head looked at Callie who was supporting almost the same look minus the pout and couldn't help but laugh "You both are impossible…. Fine! … I'll stay"

"Yey!" both brunettes yelled with a grin.

"Come on I'll show you the room" Callie gestured towards the stairs and Arizona followed.

Callie's guest bedroom was in front of Sofia's with an attached bathroom. Callie went ahead and showed her around.

"Fresh towels are in the bathroom along with a fresh toothbrush," Callie said

As Arizona went inside the bathroom, she noticed a shower chair which made her smiled "You bought a shower chair for me? just for one night… Callie… you shouldn't have… I would have managed"

"What? No… it came with the house…" Callie smiled mischievously.

Arizona laugh out loud "Yeh! Sure!"

"Anyways, have a good shower and a good night sleep… I'll see you in the morning," Callie said

"Thanks, Callie," Arizona said and they both stood there for few seconds looking into each other's eyes with a slight smile on their faces until Sofia's voice from her room broke there moment

"Ahem!... I'll go and take a shower," Arizona said clearing her throat.

"yeah!... um… I'll go and check on Sofia…er… Good night Arizona"

"Good night Callie" replied Arizona as she closed the door.

"Mama! Get up! Mommy made pancakes… and my tummy is making hungry noises" Sofia yelled excitedly as she jumped on Arizona's bed.

"Sofia! what did I tell you about keeping your voice down in the morning?" Arizona grunted.

"Sorry mama, but I am hungry, and mommy asked me to wake you up for breakfast," Sofia said in a significantly lower voice.

"Okay, baby girl, I am up… tell Mommy that I'll be down in 10 minutes," Arizona said yawning.

As Arizona came down to the living room, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and pancake made her stomach rumble. When she entered the kitchen the sight before her melted her heart. Callie and Sofia were in the kitchen in matching apron which said "Chef" and "Junior Chef" respectively. Sofia had batter on her pyjama sleeves, nose and hair and she was pouring the batter on the pan in odd shapes and Callie was redoing everything Sofia was doing. Every now and then, when Callie was not looking, Sofia will put more chocolate chips into the batter. They both were so indulged in their antics that they didn't realize that Arizona was quietly watching them from last several minutes.

Finally deciding to speak Arizona said "Good morning girls" which startled Sofia and Callie a little.

"Oh! I didn't see you there… good morning" Callie said with a wide smile.

"What's going on here?" Arizona asked in amusement.

"We are making you breakfast mama" Sofia explained excitedly.

"I can see that…" Arizona replied with a grin, eyeing the condition of the countertop and Sofia.

"Yeah… my assistant is helping me," Callie said and added the last part in a whisper "in making a mess" which made Arizona laugh hard.

"Coffee?" Callie offered

"yes please," Arizona said accepting the cup.

After breakfast, they all went to have a shower and get ready.

"Callie! Since last night I am asking you to send me the hotel details, you haven't sent it yet" Arizona asked as she sat on the couch.

When Callie didn't reply and continued watching TV, Arizona called her again "Callie! Are you listening to me? … my hotel details … please… I need to settle my luggage there"

"So, I was thinking that we should go to look at the apartment today, I have shortlisted few which I think you will like," Callie said completely ignoring Arizona's previous question.

"What? Callie? I am asking you about the Hotel and you are talking about apartments… what's going on?" Arizona said visibly irritated

"Okay fine! Here…" Callie said sending the details to Arizona.

"Wait… what… Callie, it says my booking is from Monday… what the…" Arizona asked confused.

"yeah about that… I have booked the hotel for you from Monday… " Callie said in the matter of fact tone and rambled on "I have off till Sunday, in which, we will go and look for an apartment and the potential site for you women centre… this way you will get time to spend with Sofia as vacations are starting and she is going for summer camp… you will stay here till Sunday and Monday morning I'll drop you to your hotel on my way to work" Callie explained everything in one go, leaving no room for argument for Arizona.

"wha… but… Callie" Arizona wailed.

"What? Did you face any problem here? Hotels are more comfortable than in my house?" Callie raised her eyebrows in question

"No... but… I mean… you..." Arizona couldn't find words or argument to oppose.

"Arizona! Just agree to it so we can go ahead with our day … unless you can give me a very good reason to stay away from your daughter …." Callie replied with a smug look as if daring Arizona to counter that

Arizona thought for few seconds "I don't wanna impose" Arizona mumbled

"Don't be silly … you think that I would have a plan it like that if you were imposing? Huh? Callie asked scolding Arizona lovingly.

"um… No… I mean" Arizona tried but didn't find anything to say so she nodded her head to yes.

"Great! Now, get your butt off the couch and get ready… its apartment hunting time" Callie said and went to get Sofia ready.

With a slight smile, Arizona thought "3 days… that gotta be fun"
