Hey, what's up? Who's ready for an update years later?! I've been rewatching DBZ lately and I remember I used to write this fanfiction, so I thought I'd try writing another chapter. Why not? It might be a little inconsistent because I didn't feel like re-reading everything.
Chapter 8 - Get Training Before the Saiyans Arrive Guys!
Piccolo dropped down on the rough terrain, holding a little girl in his hand. He tossed her away, letting go of his grip on her arm. She winced, flopping on the ground, "Ouch…"
He spoke sternly, "Now, go hunt the dinosaur."
"I don't wanna kill the dinosaur!" She shouted back.
He groaned, "I didn't say you had to kill it, just defeat it, okay?!"
"Huh…?" She folded her legs in, sitting on the loose dirt.
The white of Piccolo's cape flipped back behind him in the wind. He placed one hand on his hip. "That creature was chasing you, attacking you, and you don't want to kill it?" He cackled, "If you don't toughen up, you're never going to be ready to fight the Saiyans, and the planet will likely be destroyed. That includes your pathetic friends and your mother." His laughter got louder and more pronounced, "And then your dad would have died for nothing."
Kura folded her arms, starting to stand up. "Wouldn't you be destroyed too?"
"What?" Piccolo snapped.
"I guess you don't want to lose our planet either"
"Yes! So, I can take it over."
"Hmm," Kura dusted herself off, almost seeing Piccolo in a new light. "I'll fight the dinosaur Mr. Piccolo, but then can I train with you."
He grunted in response. "Beat the dino, cry-baby. Then, we'll talk."
"Kura! Kura!" Chichi called out over and over again, walking through the woods, eventually coming out in the mountains. She was feeling tired from walking, her legs and feet sore. Emotionally, she was doing even worse. Chichi just could not process that her little girl was lost, stolen… and that her husband was dead.
She couldn't even think about it.
All she could do was keep walking and calling for her daughter. She didn't know what else she could do. Chichi tried to think of a better solution. She asked herself what Goku would do if she had died and Kura was taken by the evil reincarnation of Piccolo. His answer probably would not have been smart, but, Chichi thought, it would have been the right one. Would he have been walking through god-knows-where calling out of their daughter? Or would he be fighting Piccolo?
No question.
He'd be fighting Piccolo.
Chichi altered her approach, "Nimbus!" She shouted up to the sky. It felt like she was losing her mind. Just yesterday she was telling Goku and Kura to be safe heading out to Master Roshi's. Now, her daughter was missing and her husband was gone. Just last week she was getting dinner ready and yelling at Goku for jumping into eating before everything was actually on the table. And Kura's little face was laughing, sitting across from her father at the table. Chichi felt so alone trudging around.
Nimbus appeared, floating into Chichi's vision.
"Hello, Nimbus," she stated respectfully. Her hand touched down to the yellow cloud. "I need to find my daughter, Kura. I don't know where she is but-"
Suddenly, Nimbus swooped down, scooping Chichi up onto the center of the cloud. Taking off, Nimbus soared up through the air, whisking Chichi away. "Wait!" She yelled, "Slow down!" Nimbus kept speeding forward. Chichi held on for dear life, "Wait… Do you know where she is?"
"Ha!" Kura huffed, tossing a sliver of the dinosaur's tail down in front of Piccolo. She had stabbed the chunk with a stick, but she probably cut it with the blade from her helmet.
The green man stared down at the cut of dinosaur tail meat. She had managed to beat the creature clearly or at least outmaneuver it. Maybe she wasn't hopeless. He knew she was strong when angry or in danger, her Saiyan side apparently brought that intense power out. Now, he just needed to refine that power so she could use it and bring it out whenever necessary. "Are you ready to spar?"
Kura squinted, "Yes."
"I am not going to go easy on you. Accept that."
"Okay…" Her voice trailed off. She tried to stand up straighter and brought her hands into fists in front of her.
"Give me this," Piccolo took a step over to her and ripped her helmet off of her head. She grabbed after it, confused, "This is a crutch. The Saiyans would blow something like this up in a second." Piccolo tossed the pink helmet to the side. It slowly rolled into a mountainside.
"Fine," Kura muttered.
"Here are the rules. If you manage to hit me once, you win and you can eat the meat you got, but if I knock you out before you can hit me, you're on your own tonight."
She glared, her nostrils flared, "That's not fair! I don't know how to fight! And you're almost as strong as my dad!"
Piccolo rolled his eyes, offended by her comment about him being weaker than Goku, "As your dad was."
"H-Hey…" She mumbled, getting kind of sad, remembering how her dad died… until BAM! Piccolo threw a punch directly down at her.
She jumped, her leg feeling the blow of his fists connection with the ground. The dirt cracked and turned to dust in the air around her. Piccolo's other arm took a swing at her face.
"Ah!" She tried to dodge, but his fist caught the side of her cheek. Her body flew back.
"Let's go!" He shouted the second after she hit the ground, "Get up and fight back!"
All Kura could focus on was the pain coming from her face. She struggled to pick herself up and fought the tears back. "Okay, okay, I'm trying…"
"Now!" With a flash, Piccolo lit up the ground with blasts.
Leaping into the air, Kura was able to avoid getting taken out by his attack. Even though he probably was not actually using all of his energy.
Kura landed in front of him, on her feet, "Why are you being so mean? I'm not ready!"
"The Saiyans are not going to wait for you! Enemies will attack you with no mercy!"
Scrunching up her face, Kura spoke back to him, "That doesn't mean you have to…"
"Stop stalling!" Piccolo yelled and swung at her again. Kura was forced to run and dodge the best she could, but very often Piccolo's attacks would land and connect. She fought through the pain and ignored the bruises forming, in order to keep fighting. She had to keep fighting, she thought, it's what her dad would do.
"What?!" Goku gasped, speaking to Kami in Other World. "King Kai's is that far away?!"
"Yes, you must follow Snake Way approximately a million miles to reach King Kai's planet at the end."
"Oh no! How long is that going to take?" Goku was so anxious he started running in place.
"Quite a while, you must hurry in order to train before the Saiyans arrive. And make sure you don't fall off, Goku, or you'd be going straight to Hell-!" Goku was taking off before Kami could realize it.
He yelled back, waving with a big smile on his face, "Aw man, thanks a lot Kami, but I've got to get going!"
Kami rolled his eyes and sighed. Goku was such an idiot, but he would probably be the Earth's best bet of being saved. He just hoped Goku would be able to reach King Kai and train to get stronger.
Now, the Earth's other warriors needed to prepare themselves. Kami disappeared from Other World back to his lookout. It was time for Goku's other friends to begin their training with Kami; Yamcha, Tien, Chioatzu, Yajirobe, and Krillin would all be summoned.
A/N: Hey guys! Thanks for reading! I know it's been actually forever. I used to write this fanfiction and another DragonBall one soooo long ago. But, like I said I have been rewatching the show recently and felt like reliving my fanfiction days. So, here's a quick chapter. No promises I will update soon, but maybe if I'm feeling like it. It's kinda fun to just write stuff again.
Leave a review, follow, and/or favorite! Thank you! :)
