The Chosen One

We finally make it to the end of this crazy maze. "Well dead end." I say about to turn around but was quickly stopped by Vegeta.

"Wait" he said and turns my back towards the dead end. I look at him confused, he smirks and me then pushes me ruffly at the wall. I gasp as I pass through and start to fall.

I see where I fell out of the wall start to get smaller before I could start to scream, I see Vegeta shoot out of the wall and speed like a bullet to grab me. "Don't ever do that again!" I say holding onto his neck tightly I hear him chuckle as we fly away from the castle.

We were flying for ages; the sun had already risen by the time we got back on solid land. I sit on a nearby log and take my heels off. "Okay so what are we going to do?" I say rubbing my feet.

Vegeta sighs and starts to pace. "I…um…well…I don't know." He looked scared, like he'd never been this unsure. "We need to find help obviously, but I don't know how far this take over has gone." The confused prince stops his pacing and squats down holding his temples.

I get up and walk over to him. "It's okay." I said squatting next to him. "Well first we need some different clothes." I say looking out our outfits. "That armor isn't going to help you and this dress is too much." I stand and start my own pacing trying to think, I slip my hand into my pocket and feel a piece of paper. "Oh shit!" I say pulling out the familiar paper. "This is where we go." I said holding it up and walking over to the prince.

He looked and me and started laughing. "You know I really thought you were smart, I guess I was wrong." He said walking away from me.

I sigh and run after him. "Why not, we have nothing else to lose!" I say puling his arm to stop him. "Right now, this is our only chance at survival." I hold up the paper and stare him deep in his eyes.

"Ugh! Fine women!" Vegeta grabs the paper and reads the coordinates. "What the hell?" Vegeta looked confused then up and me who was smirking. "This might work." He said grabbing my waist and shot into the sky.

~BACK AT THE PALACE~

"What the fuck do you mean they escaped!" Frieza said grabbing Zarbon by the collar. "I gave you one job and you some how fuck that up." He pushed Zarbon on the floor and slaps the reptilian creature across the face. "I want you to take a team and search every inch of that fucking crawl space and if you come up empty, I will roast you alive." He says grabbing a random soldier and pushing him towards the exit.

King Vegeta chuckles as he holds his heavily bleeding side. "I'm sure your father won't be too happy to hear this." The King says looking at Frieza.

"SHUT UP MONKEY!" Frieza screamed at the top of his lungs and shot a ki blast at the reptile. "FUCK" The invading Prince stormed out of the room with Zarbon hot on his trail.

~THE SWAMP~

Vegeta flew over the land completely covered in green water. "I can't believe someone lives out here." He said looking disgusted. "The only upside to this is that its completely cut off from the main city and no one has and reason to come here." The Prince continued to look disgusted at the entire area.

"Vegeta you will inherit this land one day; you should try and find the beauty in your planet not just your palace." I said rolling my eyes at his comments of the area. "I think its nice and rustic." I said smiling.

"Of course, you do." Vegeta said landing on a patch of land. "I think we'll be okay to walk the rest, plus I'm running out of energy with all this flying." I again took off my shoes and started to walk after Vegeta. "So how old where you when you were dropped off at the orphanage?" I could tell he was trying to make small talk.

I looked at him quizzically to try and decipher his question. "The Madam of the house told me I was 4 when I was left." I said as I buckled my shoes together and slung them across my shoulder. "I was left with a letter and some money." I sighed thinking back to my life on Earth. Vegeta looked at me understanding my silence and allowed it to stay that way until I was comfortable enough to continue the conversation. "How far away do you think we are?" I ask not wanting to dwell on the past.

Vegeta looks back to the paper and thinks for a minute. "I'm not to sure about the grid of the swamps but from what I remember we should have a little over 10 miles." I groan as I lift my dress to help widen my stride.

"Well this is about to be a long journey." I say as I sigh deeply.

~11 MILES LATER~

The land around us was getting browner about 2 miles back the swamp dissipated and just showed dirt for the rest of the way. We reached a small village that looked inhabited. "These are the Sway Saiyan's, they decided to break away from the main area of Vegetasi and become their own people almost 3 decades ago." Vegeta said looking around. "We don't really bother ourselves with them unless there is some type of trade we can agree on, other then that we basically pretend the other doesn't exist." I smiled softly at the people staring at us.

"Maybe we could ask then for directions." I said taking the paper out of Vegeta's hand about to walk up to the people, he quickly grabbed my arm and pulled me back to him. "What the hell?" I ask ripping my arm away.

"Women, there is a reason we don't associate ourselves with the Sway Saiyan's." He said lowly still scanning our surroundings. "There are certain customs going about speaking with them and we can just pick a random one to speak with." Vegeta gestured for me to give him some space and I complied. He swung his cape over his shoulder and kneeled in the middle of what looked to be the road, with outstretched arms he sighed annoyed and started to chant in the Native Vegetasi language. I looked around and saw the rest of the villagers were gone. As Vegeta finished his chant he slowly stood with arms still out. "I wish to commune with the elders, I wish to dine with you and drink of your land." As he put his arms down, he opened his eyes to see a completely barren village. I still looked confused as I looked around and then back to him with the same face. "Give it a minute." He said smirking.

A horn sounded and Vegeta bowed and gestured me to do the same. "The elders accept your request and wish you to come to drink and eat of what is bestowed upon us." An unseen voice yelled out to us.

Vegeta and I stood. I grabbed his hand tightly as we walked forward to the middle of the city where a big house stood. "It's okay." Vegeta said squeezing my hand.

As we entered the house it smelled like burning incense. I looked around and saw the house was lined with people kneeling with bowed heads. "Please come closer." A mysterious voice told us. We walked deeper into the house and saw a woman sitting in the middle of the room smiling. "Welcome Prince Vegeta and guest." She said bowing, Vegeta and I did the same. "I am the village elder Okira, what is it that you seek?" She asked smiling.

Vegeta stood up from bowing and let go of my hand and walked forward. "We seek answers, we are looking for these coordinates and have yet to find them." He said handing the women the paper. "The planet has been attacked and my companion believes that the person who lives here could help us." I was shocked at how calmly and respectfully Vegeta was speaking, it made me see him in a different light.

The women smirked and looked up at us. "You are in search of the Mechanist, I'm sorry but your journey has been in vain." Okira looked to me with sad eyes. "He left the village a few years ago in search of something." She stood and started to walk out of the house. "Please follow me." She took us to an old house that was away from the rest of the village. "He left his stuff so we believed he would return one day but he has yet to, but 2 days before he left, he gave me the keys to his house and a letter. I put the letter inside because I knew you would be coming." She said turning to me and handing me the keys. "I think you'll find everything you're searching for in there." She said as she left.
