The house was surprisingly quite without everyone else here… Maybe that should have been obvious, but Linka wasn't used to the place being so deserted. Blowing out a sigh, she took the first step up to the second floor and proceeded with her epic journey up Mt. The Stairs. Sending her arm up ahead of her, she grasped the railing and used it to pull herself up the steps, three at a time. Cresting the top, she quickly shuffled towards the unoccupied bathroom and shut herself inside.

Oooh~ She blissfully exhaled as the pressure in her bladder was released and she leaned forward to luxuriate in her ability to take her time for once. It had become especially rare since she'd had to move out of the room she used to share with her twin brother. Her move to the basement, as the only other place in the house they could put a bed, was taxing on her ability to get to the bathroom before anyone else in the morning.

Okay… She sat up again, turning to take two squares of toilet paper, which she folded onto itself for one extra thick square and wiped herself down. Her fingers hooked into the hem of her skirt and she pulled it, and her panties, back up her smooth legs. Turning, she hoped the flush worked and breathed a sigh of relief when it did. Her legs carried her to the sink, and she absently turned her head to look at her face from different angles, in the mirror, as she lathered her hands and massaged them together under the warm water.

Right, Linka nodded at her reflection and stepped back out into the hall. The carpet tickled the soles of her feet as she glided back down the hall.

"Heeh?" The albino girl stopped at the faint whining that came through the closed door to Leni and Lori's room. "Nooooo~" Came the second oldest Loud's adorable mewling, prompting Linka to stop.

"Leni?" She wrapped her knuckled against the barrier, twisting the knob with her other hand. "Is everything okay?" She swung the door open without waiting for a response, revealing… Oh my god.

It looked like there had been a Christmas explosion in there. There was wrapping paper and ribbon covering every conceivable surface, along with strips of loose tape. One handle of a pair of scissors was just barely visible from under a layer of wrapping paper that clearly wasn't the bottom layer. Honestly it looked like a huge slipping hazard.

"Linky~" Leni warbled pitifully. "Help." She reached for the younger girl, from her spot sitting at the center of the room, with an unwrapped package between her legs.

"With what?" Picking her way carefully across the covered floor, the wrapping paper crinkled under her feet as she tiptoed over to where she could see the scissors and pinched her finger and thumb through the loop, to lift the tool from its burial. She sucked in a breath when she saw that the blades were open, wincing at the mental image of Leni stepping on it… Ugh…

"I can't figure out what design of wrapping paper to use for Linkie's gift…" Leni mumbled sadly, and it took Linka half a second to decipher that.

For some reason Leni used the same nickname for both her and Lincoln, and she couldn't be convinced to change it for either of them. She argued that they should know which one she's talking to, because they're spelled differently… Nobody was quite sure how to respond to that.

Closing the pair of scissors, she set them on Leni's dresser and thought about how to answer.

"Can't you ju-" She cut herself off, because of course Leni couldn't just wrap their brother's present up in a random design. That's not the kind of person that Leni was. Taking a breath, she set her weight on her back foot and bit her bottom lip in thought. "Well… Actual Christmas themes are out…" It wasn't so much that Lincoln would care about the paper his gifts were wrapped in… But… Linka gently shook her head.

"I know that." Leni crossed her arms, pouting at her younger sister. "Come one Linky, Linkie's my brother too. I'm not That lost."

"Well…" The albino girl shuffled towards her older sister, crouching down beside her. "Can you show me what you're choosing between?"

"Yuh-huh." Leni nodded, twisting on the spot to point out a row of wrapping paper rolls, standing along the wall of the room. Her finger swept between three of them: The first was pattered with stars, spaceships and lasers. The second was decorated with domino masks and detective hats. The third was a riot of colors, combined to make alien vistas. It kind of hurt Linka's eyes to look at…

Quickly breaking her gaze from the last one, as it was giving her a headache, she cast her eyes elsewhere. Her focus flittered around the room, avoiding the paper migraine, until it caught on something else.

Sticking from the closet, almost entirely obscured from view, was another roll of wrapping paper. Standing from her crouch, Linka carefully tread across the wrapping paper strewn floor and pushed the door open a little wider. At the front of another small group of different wrapping papers stood a roll of black paper with write letters scrawled across the surface in cursive print. As far as wrapping paper went, it was actually kind of cool.

"What about this one?" She swung the door open further, and pointed at the paper in question.

"Uh, eh… heh…" Leni spend a couple of second attempting to continue twisting in the same direction as before, like she had the spine of an owl or something. Her fingers uselessly scrabbling across the crinkly and smooth surface of the wrapping paper floor, before she got fed up and finally twisted the other way. "Huh?" The fashionable Loud tilted her head in questions. "But that's not Christmas themed…"

"No, but neither are the others." She pointed out. They were the kinds of wrapping paper that you usually brought out for birthdays.

"Hmm…" The older Loud turned back to her chosen papers and considered them again. "That's true."

"And besides, didn't Lincoln win that holiday short story contest a week ago?" She prompted.

Leni's eyes lit up and she gasped, clapping her hands together in excitement. "You're right!"

Rocketing to her feet, Leni took several precariously long strides to the closet. Linka stood to the side, at what she thought was a safe distance. Her assumption was proven wrong, when Leni got to the closet, snatched up the end of wrapping paper, and twisted on the spot. Linka was also proven right, as the layers of wrapping paper floor slid along each other and Leni slipped. She hung, almost diagonally, in the air for a moment, before her brain caught up with her eyes, and with a squeak of fight, she latched onto the most sturdy thing she could think of, her sister.

Linka wasn't totally sure what happened, just that her back hurt from landing with Leni on top of her, she was dizzy from rolling across the floor, and her movement was more restricted than she would have liked.

"Ow…" Leni whined from on top of her. "Th-hat hurt…"

Linka just focused on her breathing, all the air having been knocked from her lungs by the landing. Okay… Just take a moment, and breath in… Now out. Cool, okay, good. Her lungs were starting to feel fine, and the pain in her back was fading. Shaking her head, she brought her arms up to push Leni off of her, except that no, she didn't actually do that. She definitely tried though. Blinking a few times, Linka tried to move her arms again, noting something was preventing her from doing so. Craning her head, she looked down the length of her body. Oh… That wasn't good…

Both her and Leni were wrapped up in a lot of layers of wrapping paper, with a few ribbons, that got caught up with them, neatly reinforcing the bindings on their arms and legs. Shaking her head to clear out the last of the cobwebs, The albino girl finally turned her attention to her older sister.

"Hey Leni, you okay?"

"No…" Leni mumbled. "That hurt…" She said again.

"Do you think you're up to helping me with something?"

"Mphmm…" The older Loud thought it over. "Okay…"

"Cool, just move with me for a second." Linka instructed, before rolling sideways so that she was on top. "Could you look at my back and tell me if there's a loose area of wrapping paper, for us to unravel from?"

Straining to reach her neck far enough to see, Leni tilted her head. She stayed looking for a moment, then huffed in frustration and set her head back down on the carpet.

"What's wrong, can you not see it?"

Leni shook her head and sighed. "The seal is really ugly." She inhaled as deeply as she could, "There's tape everywhere!" And complained explosively. "You're only supposed to tape where the edges meet."

Tilting her head back to think, Linka considered that for a few seconds… Then her neck got tired from the awkward angle… Cheeks coloring from frustration and embarrassment, she set her head back down next to Leni's and stared at the floor as she continued to think… Whispers of Leni's breath, over the micro hairs on her shoulder, sent a tingling sensation down Linka's spine and she suppressed a shiver.

"Alright…" She took a deep breath. "We're going to have to find someone to free us." Most of the rest of the family went out to do some last minute Christmas shopping, but she was down in her room when they left, so she didn't actually see who was staying and who was going. "I'm going to need you to work with me here."

"Okay." Leni nodded readily, moving with Linka as they rolled up beside Lori's bed.

"Okay, now lean forward and…" Linka arched backwards, as Leni leaned forward, and they shifted so that Leni's back was up against the bed. "A-alright." She coughed, face strained from the almost painful positioning. "Now lean your head back over the top of the bed, and push your hips up." Relief came as her body straightening out and she was left resting on top of Leni's body. "Then just move with me." Placing her feet on the ground, she did her best to push Leni's back further onto the bed, helped along by Leni's own efforts. "Now we just…" They rolled onto their side, placed their feet on the floor, and leveraged themselves into a standing position.

"Yay!" Leni cheered. "Let's go find someone." And started walking towards the door without waiting for Linka to be ready.

"W-wait." Linka had to hop along, as her feet were almost dragged and they swayed back and forth precariously.

"Hmm?" Leni blinked down at her, stopping just in front of the door.

"We have to walk together, or else we're just going to fall over again."

"But that's slow…" The older Loud pouted at her.

"But we won't fall over." Linka repeated.

"Fine." Leni huffed, falling into step with her younger sister as they slowly shuffled their way out the door.

It was only half way to the stairs that Linka was proven wrong, when the sole of her shoe scuffed along the carpet enough that her foot wasn't where it was supposed to be when Leni took the next step. Linka could only be thankful that this hadn't happened on the stairs, as the floor rushed up to meet them.

The wind was forced from her lungs again as they landed with a resounding crash. She blinked rapidly, forcing away the floating spots of darkness, breathing deeply. She faintly heard the sound of a door opening, but she wasn't paying that much attention.

"Merry Christmas!" Leni called cheerfully, and Linka shook her head, to clear it up as much as she could, before she craned her neck to look down the hall.

"I…" Lincoln stood, half obscured by his door, as he peaked out into the hall. Stepping out fully, he softly closed the barrier behind him. "You know, I might actually prefer this over whatever you were really going to get me."
