author's note (Monster): Hi guys! As I mentioned before, this story has been planned out to have 35 chapters. I have yet to write them but no more year-long waits! Now I hope to do the same for Untouched. Have you guys heard HU's new song "Gonna Be OK" yet? Man, I am high on that chorus. I could use a 10-hour loop of that song for real. I love this song so fucking much. Enjoy.

If you haven't seen my story Soak Me In Bleach yet, please check it out on AO3. It's my biggest one-shot and one of my favourite stories I've ever written. I'd love for it to get some more love, too.

Danny was on time for class, finally. He sat in the middle, books out of their plastic and he felt well-rested. Knowing he had an early class today, he had asked Charlie to get off work earlier so he could still have a full night's rest. Charlie agreed because well… He couldn't say no to Danny, right?

Before he'd been okay with sleeping during Music Composition because of his late shift at the bar but it had been calm at the bar so Charlie agreed to let him go home anyway. Sooo Danny was happy to feel awake during Music Composition. It was his first time in professor Busek's class, he had to pay attention after being a late student to the academic year already.

"Hey Danny!"

Danny looked up startled to find Dylan coming to sit next to him. "What's up?"

"Oh hey", Danny smiled. "Second time I run into you."

"Small world, big uni", Dylan grinned. He sat down, took out his books. "I have no idea why I picked some of these subjects."

"What's your major?" Danny asked.

Dylan dropped his books on his desk, took out a pen to write but it was empty so he rummaged through his bag, eventually looking apologetically at Danny. Danny offered him a pen and he took it. "Music technology."

"Wow", Danny expressed. "That's something. What the hell are you doing with your subjects?"

Dylan chuckled. Professor Busek entered the scene with his wild curls and a coffee in hand, making his way to his desk and setting up his computer to show the slides for his lecture. Danny immediately skimmed through his course sheets until he found the slides they seemed to be at today. Then professor Busek began his lecture.

Dylan leaned in. "I just thought I'd take on some subjects that sounded interesting. Once I graduate, I won't have the opportunity to explore any subjects anymore."

"You like studying then?" Danny asked, eyes on the slides while he took notes like a good student. Dylan shrugged. "I like being a student. I get to learn new stuff just like that. It would be a hassle to learn all this on my own."

"True", Danny agreed.

Dylan hadn't even opened his book yet. "What's your major?"

"Vocal performance", Danny whispered.

"You sing?!" Dylan called out, far too loud because the heads turned to look at them. Danny chuckled. "I sing, yeah."

"Awesome, I wish I could sing but at best, I can rap", Dylan pouted. Both focussed their attention on whatever Busek was saying. "But in the end, it doesn't even matter!"

Danny held back a laugh. "In the end, it doesn't even matter. I had to fall to lose it all..", he whisper-sang to Dylan who chuckled too. "I had the exact same thought when he said that."

He pulled out his phone, looking like he was used to not paying any attention to the lectures. Danny tried his best to take notes but Dylan was scrolling through memes and he couldn't help but read along. One in particular almost made him laugh too loud. Dylan grinned at it too.

"Where do you even get these?" Danny asked.

"Tumblr comment awards, dude", Dylan shared. "They are so fucking random but so funny."

"I love that", Danny shook his head. Dylan muted his phone and whipped up one of the compilation videos for them to watch. By now, Danny's attention from the lecture had absolutely vanished as he leaned over to Dylan to watch along with him. Before they knew it, professor Busek announced a five minute break. Most got up and left the auditory. "I wanna go to the vending machine. You wanna come with?" Dylan asked.

Danny nodded. He hadn't really been socialising with anyone since he arrived at the school. He'd been so focussed on combining his job at the Hit & Quit with picking his major and subjects for the year that he'd been absolutely oblivious to his fellow students. It felt nice to have someone socialise with. He got up, left his bag in his seat and walked off with Dylan. He knew the way to the nearest vending machine, scanning his card before he picked a snack. Danny casually strolled around while he waited for Dylan to get his snack and drink, finding himself reading the doors of the offices.

Professor Sanders, Professor Myers, Professor Ragan.

Danny paused.

Professor Ragan.

George's office. He smiled to himself.

"Danny?"

Danny looked up to find professor Ragan in the hallway, most likely waiting to enter his office. Danny stepped aside. "Professor Ragan."

"Do you need me for anything?" George asked.

Dylan came to Danny's side. "Oh hi professor."

George gave him a nod but Danny knew for sure he didn't know his name. "No, I was just waiting for Dylan to get a snack and found out this is your office."

"Only since the start of the year", George said. He opened the door and went inside. "See you in class."

"Bye professor Ragan", Danny said and while Dylan walked away, he gave George a sneaky smile and a wink before he joined him.

"I didn't know professor Ragan's office was here", Dylan wondered. "I never really look at a professor's office location until I need it."

"Same", Danny said. "Let's head back. I'm sure the five minutes are over already.

Dylan munched on a chocolate waffle but nodded as they walked their way back. Professor Busek hadn't resumed his lecture but did so as soon as they were seated. Only five minutes into it and the pair was watching Dylan's phone again. Danny managed to combine it with taking notes every now and then but most of the second part of the lecture was lost on him.

Before they knew it, Busek called it a day and students around them were getting up to leave. Dylan pouted. "Man, I wanted to show you tons of memes."

"Send them to me?" Danny offered.

"How?" Dylan asked. Danny gave him his phone number. "Spam me with memes, dude. I want a laugh every now and then."

"Thank you for subscribing to daily memes with Dylan Alvarez", Dylan grinned. He texted Danny just to make sure Danny had his number too, now. "Do you have class now?"

"I do", Danny said. Dylan shrugged. "I don't. I'm heading back to the dorms."

"Where is your dorm anyway?" Danny asked. Dylan squinted his eyes trying to remember the number. "I'm on the first floor of 200L"

"What? So am I!" Danny said.

Dylan shook his head. "Man, small world and small uni."

"Crazy", Danny agreed. They packed their things and left the auditory. Danny checked the time. "Well, I'm off to my next class. See you later, dude."

"Later", Dylan replied.

Danny felt nice about having a friend on campus now. He looked forward to the daily meme subscription, too.
