A few days after her last encounter with Darren Cross. Tony, Natasha and Khamala slowly made their way towards the local diner , they weren't really sure if they were safe, or that A.I.M. Might attack anytime, they were just about to enter the diner. Just then Khamala saw someone walk around the corner with a large box in his arms. She almost didn't recognise hin in a pair of baggy blue jeans and purple-shirt but the brown hair was a dead giveaway. Bruce's eyes widened when he saw the trio and he immediately turned around and starting walking the other way.
"Hey Banner wait up", Natasha called out. They ran to catch up with the Hulk who was moving quickly across the park. He tried to move through the trees but Khamala, Natasha and Tony succeeded in boxing him in. Seeing that he had nowhere to go, he sighed and put his box down on the floor.
"Are you avoiding me now?" Tony stated with annoyance.
"It's not that", Bruce began, he rubbed the back of his neck and looked towards the ground, "I'm just a bit embarrassed, our last meeting didn't end well". Khamala quickly looked over at Tony, "Dr. Banner, as much as you claim the Avengers are a problem, but we have proof that the Avengers were set up".
"What?", Bruce replied, Natasha stepped forward, "But we need to help each other out. We could use your help". Bruce bit his lip as he thought about his response. He didn't get to deliver it though as several A.I.M. Robots appeared in the park and surrounded the group.
"Man not these guys again", Khamala grumbled.
"Get out of here", Bruce cried, "you don't know what you're dealing with".
"Oh trust me, i do", Khamala replied as she prepared to fight.
"Yeah cause that worked out well last time", he shot back. She instantly regretted bringing up that her powers cost her everything she had, "I'm sorry, I just don't want you to get hurt".
"We can take care of ourselves", Natasha stated before kicking a A.I.M bot in the gut. She followed that up by jamming a stick into its chest. Tony jumped into battle against the A.I.M bots, blasting any bot he could with his repulser gauntlet.
Bruce admired Khamala's bravery and resourcefulness as she decapitated a A.I.M bot with a roundhouse kick. She leaped off the trunk of a nearby tree and flipped over a pair of footsoldiers. Using the momentary confusion she grabbed a branch and smashed the robots in the chest, disabling them instantly. Bruce turned around and saw that Khamala was beginning to struggle against the A.I.M bots. Ripping his shirt off, Bruce charged forward turning big and green as the Hulk tore through some bots.
Backed into a corner, Khamala relieved when the Hulk , Tony and Natasha came to her assistance. Hulk moved quickly, smashing through the bots as he went, "Thanks", Khamala sighed.
Hulk was now to her left, mostly with his back to Khamala. Suddenly Natasha saw three Bots sneaking up on the Hulk with their blades ready to strike. Instinctively Natasha fired her Widow's bite at the nearest Bot. The projectile slammed into its chest compartment and the Bot collapsed to the ground. Tony and Khamala then leapt into the air and drop kicked the remaining two Bots, knocking them to the ground permanently disabling then.
Hulk glanced around and realised how close he had been to getting cut down. Smashing the last Bot in the stomach, he turned to face the trio, "Thank you, I owe you one", he said once he had become Bruce again.
"Maybe Im not as helpless as you think", Khamala replied.
Bruce sighed, "I want to apologise for my behaviour "
" We really do need your help." Khamala replied
"Are you free to come with me to the Chimera?" The trio nodded and Bruce hit a button on his watch, a Quinjet appeared and moments later the group flew away from the park.
The Chimera
Bruce led the group through the corridors of the downed Chimera and down to the bottom level. Eventually they stopped outside a large door that looked like a bank vault. "This lab hasn't been used in years."
"So why haven't you used it?", Natasha replied, "Since we don't have Jarvis", Bruce paused and looked like he was struggling to continue.
"Then thats what we will do" Tony said, "sorry I didnt mean to interrupt".
Bruce shook his hands, "It's fine and yes you're right. We have to get Jarvis from the archives"
" Then lets get to it " Tony said.
