Chapter 22

Darjeeling nodded and waved back to Kay. They stayed that way for a while and watched the small vessel disappear into the night. Darjeeling looked at Assam who was smiling and smiled as well. The night had gone well for both of the girls. Assam headed back with Darjeeling and opened her door to see Rosehip crying.

"What's wrong Rosehip?" Assam said rushing to her side

"Are you cheating on me?"

"What, why would you ask something like that?"

"I saw you and Naomi," Rosehip said, catching her breath, "You looked like you were having a good time and thought that you were together."

"What. Of course I am not cheating on you Rosehip. Me and Naomi have been friends since Secondary school. She came over to check in on me. I haven't been myself the past few days. Naomi was one of the only few that can see through my barriers. If it makes you feel better I am happier with you."

"So you're not cheating on me?

"Of course not, I would never cheat on you. Now let's get you cleaned up and maybe we can listen to that music that you wanted to listen to. Ok?" Assam said, with an arm around her and one hand on her leg. "I know I am not the best, but I can still be here for you."

"Don't say that Assam, you are perfectly fine. Let's get changed into something more comfortable."

"Alright then." Assam said, standing up.

They stood up and headed to the bathroom and took a shower. They changed into their night clothes and sat down on the bed together. Rosehip took her phone and opened her music app. She selected a song about the siege of Anzio. She started it and looked at Assam who was relaxed with her back against the wall and her laptop.

"Are you listening to it?" Rosehip asked, snuggling up next to her.

"Yeah. It is ok, not my personal favorite. Though if you like it then I will listen to it with you." Assam said, resting her head on Rosehip's shoulder. "Sorry if I caused any doubt about our relationship. I will always be here for you."

Rosehip smiled and kept her playlist going. They listened to the music until Rosehip drifted off to sleep. When she did Assam closed her laptop and paused the music. She laid Rosehip on the bed and put both devices on their respective chargers. She then laid next to the sleeping redhead and put her head in the crook of her neck and an arm around her stomach. She fell asleep like this and Rosehip moved a little so they would be comfortable.

Morning came and the first to wake up was Rosehip. Not wanting to disturb the blonde next to her she carefully untwined herself and got changed into her day clothes. She put on a blue t-shirt and a pair of black pants. She left the room only to run into Darjeeling who was also exciting the building

"Co- commander! I was. . . uh . . . We were just hanging out." Rosehip stammered

"Rosehip, it is fine. I do not want to know what you two do together as it is not my business." Darjeeling said. "I was going to get something to eat, I assume you were doing the same for you two?"

"Ye. . . Yes ma'am" Rosehip said, blushing at her commander.

"Very well then."

They both exited the building and headed to the nearby café. They ordered their food and Rosehip made her way back to the Dorm. She headed up the stairs to Assam's room. She opened the door to see Assam still asleep. Assam opened her eyes and looked at the Redhead who was standing before her with scones and tea. She smiled at Assam who looked shocked that she was awake at this time.

"Why do you look so shocked? I just wanted to do something for you." She said, handing Assam her drink and food.

"Well, for one, I am the one who normally has to wake you up on weekends, and two, thank you." Assam said.
