Chapter 8: Welcome Back Edward

Jasper's POV

It's been 3 years since Edward left us and Bella hasn't been the same. I try to use my powers on her to brighten up her mood but to no avail. She's been in and out of the hospital numerus times for hurting herself. She now has scares on her wrists. She just isn't the same Bella that we have come to love. Though I must admit that her friend Jacob the werewolf has helped her a lot and for that alone I am grateful.

"Jasper honey are you alright?" Alice asked me, a look of worry and concern written all over her face.

"Yeah I'll be alright. Just…"

"Worried about Bella." She finished, my god I love this woman.

"Yeah exactly." I said as she wrapped her arms around me.

"Hey Alice, hey Jasper. What are you two up to?" Emmett asked as he and Rosalie came into the room.

"Just talking about Bella and how much she's changed these last three years." I said. I knew that everyone could hear the worry that was in my voice.

"I hear ya man. But hey at least she hasn't done harm to herself for what the past 6 months." Emmett said his voice that of relief and worry.

"I think this last time in the hospital really helped." Rosalie said as she and Emmett sat down.

"Hey you guys. What are you talking about?" Bella said as she entered the room. We all knew that she had heard all that we had said.

"Bella. How are you? Did you take your meds today?" I asked the concern that I had for her very apparent in my voice.

"Yes I took my meds. Well the ones for the morning and afternoon. Um I was wondering if tonight we could have a movie night. I mean we haven't had one in ages and…"

"I think that a movie night is a great idea." Carlisle said as he and Esme came into the room right behind Bella.

"You really think so dad?" Bella asked.

"Yes I do I think that it's about time we got things back to well normal around here and what better way than to have a movie night." Carlisle said giving Bella a reassuring hug.

Just then there was a knock on the door.

"Who could that be?" Alice asked wondering why she didn't have a vision for a visitor.

"I'll answer it. If that's ok with you guys. I mean it might be Jacob." Bella said knowing that Alice can't see Jacob in her visions.

"I'll go with you." I said as I got up from my spot on the couch.

"Ok Teddy." Bella said this time she had love in not only in her voice but written all over her face as well.

As we approached the door I didn't smell Jacob's scent. But that doesn't mean that I didn't recognize it. Before I could stop Bella she had already opened the door.

"Guys get in here fast." I said as Bella collapsed in Edward's arms.

"Is she alright?" Edward asked as I quickly took Bella out of his arms and I couldn't help but growl at Edward.

"Edward? Your back?" Alice asked with shock in her voice.

"I thought that it was time for me to stop running and to come home. Though by the look on all of your faces I gather that I'm not welcomed here." Edward said and as I felt the feelings around the room I knew that he wasn't entirely wrong in that.

"Jasper, why don't you and Emmett along with Alice and Rose take Bella upstairs to her room? And please keep an eye on her. Make sure that she doesn't do anything that she will later regret." Carlisle said I knew that he wanted to talk to Edward and Esme alone and I guess see if it was safe to let Edward live with us and more importantly Bella.
