Time warp. ( this takes place 50 years before the end of the last chapter)
Chapter 11
Percy was strolling the streets of Sydney, Australia. He had been in exile for almost 450 years. The last time he had seen anyone he knew was over 400 years ago. He knew he had to go back eventually, see his family and crap but he didn't know how. 77 Valdez hadn't been completed yet but he didn't know when the time was right.
77 Valdez was basically a plan of the show then run. First, the plan was to reveal the rebellion, then go away for a few years. While in the process, convince the entire demi-god population to their side. He didn't know how the former was going but he knew that everyone was underground in Tartarus, or so he hoped.
Percy was walking near the ocean when the tide started to act strange. A large ripple was coming towards him.
Shit, Percy thought. He knew he shouldn't have come here, it was too close to his dad. He was expecting Poesidon to come out of the water but who he saw surprised him even more.
"Triton," Percy asked, dumbfounded as to why his half brother would seek out a conversation with him.
"Yes, brother." He said brother almost with distaste.
"Why-"
"You are needed in Atlantis, now."
"No, " Percy answers simply. He would go back on his own time, when he said so.
Triton made to grab Percy and that was his one big mistake.
When Triton touched Percy, the contact sent him into a spiral of memories. His eyes went dark, the tides became choppy and Percy went ridged. Then all of a sudden he began to move like a robot, towards the sea. Triton almost took a breath of relief but when Percy launched himself into the ocean he realized that he was not doing what he wanted.
At lightning fast speed Percy appeared at the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean. His brain was still on autopilot as his head was split up into three sections.
PTSD and the triggered part of his brain
The part that wanted to release a blast of power because of PTSD
The part that wanted to release a blast of power because of PTSD but knows that he needs to hold it in so that he doesn't harm people.
The three parts of his mind were battling each other back and forth, fighting for control. Percy wasn't paying much attention when he hit the ocean floor. He had reached the bottom of the world.
He could almost relate to the trench, famous, feared, and a mystery. It was then, when he could relate to a trench, he knew he had reached rock bottom. Then, he let everything out. His hatred for the gods, what they had put him through. All of the emotions he held in came out in one huge blast of power.
The Underworld
The room shook violently. The stygian iron seemed to cave in on itself. The earth was compressing down on the throne room. Hades looked up at the ceiling, what the heck is going on? He looked around the throne room to double check that now one else was there. Then he flashed out. When he arrived outside of the palace, he saw things weren't much better. Buildings were falling down, cracks were appearing on the floor and ceiling. The pit's opening had expanded, creating a mouth that led to doom.
Hades stood there making sure no monsters escaped as he looked at the pit. The earthquake was terrible, but Poseidon's' couldn't reach down this far. Then he realized where the quake was coming from, the pit. Hades' eyes snapped open.
"Percy," he breathed.
Tartarus
The palace was bustling with activity. The Jackson kids were busy training with their mom, waiting for the day their dad would return. Annabeth was getting more and more doubtful that her husband would ever return. Yes he was an immortal being but someone didn't just leave their family for 450 years. She turned to look at her children. She was so proud of how powerful they had become. Austin, a champion of Poesidon, had water control powers that rivalled Percy's. Their daughter, Poly, had excelled in swordsmanship and her architect skill had been perfected to a t.
Annabeth felt tears coming to her eyes as she spiraled down into memories about her husband. She remembered the day he had left clear as day. They had been sitting down in a small movie room, watching the Tartarus war with their children. She didn't approve of the idea as a mother but her children could learn a lot from watching, so she agreed to let her children view the war.
About 5 minutes in, Percy stood up and walked out, almost in a daze. He walked out of the room and she followed. She started to try and get his attention but nothing was working. She started to scream his name but he didn't seem to hear. Then he flashed out.
When she had returned to the movie room her children turned to face her.
"Where's daddy," Poly asked.
Austin looked at his mother with a look of understanding, they both knew what had happened. He had left, not because he didn't love them, but because he loved them so much he knew that if he stayed he would cause damage in their lives. Poseidon looked at his daughter in law with grief filled eyes. Once Poly understood what had happened, she began to weep uncontrollably. Tear after tear streamed down her face in a constant stream, never ceasing to flow.
When the group finally managed to return to Tartarus, Poly ran to her room. Those had been some of the hardest days. They sent search party after search party, knowing their efforts were futile. If Percy didn't want to be found then he wouldn't be.
Annabeth shook herself out of her memories as she heard the clatter of metal. She looked to the arena and saw her two children, both covered in confusion. They were staring up at the ceiling and what Annabeth saw troubled her greatly.
A giant ball of power was condensing in the middle of the room. It was like a scene in that old movie, the Avengers. The tesseract was about to explode and the energy from it condensed into a ball. The scene Annabeth was seeing wasn't too far off, just with one glaring difference. The energy was black, not electric blue.
The energy of the pit she realized. I need to get out of here now she thought. She launched herself out of the seat she was sitting on and made for her children. When she reached them she screamed at her daughter "GET US OUT OF HERE!"
The Jackson crew flashed out of the room moments before the ball of energy exploded destroying everything in its path.
Camp-Half Blood
Chiron was sitting on the porch of the big house, looking over the newest batch of campers. He stayed away from the campers more than ever because he knew they'd be gone by the end of the month. The camp had done everything in its power to protect the demi-gods but nothing worked. Strengthened borders, nope. More metal animals, destroyed. Guards, kidnapped. They had even asked the gods for help but they offered none. It was infuriating. No one knew why or how they went missing.
He was looking out over the ground when the earth started to shake, some of it crumbling away, giving way to a black abyss. The children seemed scared at first but then a look of excitement crossed the faces. They all turned towards the hole in the ground.
"FOR THE TRUTH," they cried, all 20 in perfect unison. They leaped over the edge as Chiron looked over in fear.
"NO," he cried. He wasn't going to lose any more demi-gods, but by the time he had reached the hole, they were nowhere in sight. Chiron began to weep, he had lost it all.
Percy POV (First Person)
Pain, lots and lots of pain. Mental, physical and spiritual pain overcame me as I let loose a gutrenching scream. I wanted for it to be over. I didn't want more war but I knew that it was too late. I wanted my family but I was scared that they would be repulsed, because of what I had turned into, what I had done. What was I gonna do?
As the pain slowly subsided I looked around me. The trench was slowly crumbling. I could feel the violent tide above. I could almost see the landslides, the cracks in the earth, my power in Tartarus exploding. I could feel how much time had passed since I had gone under water. I could feel it all. It was too much, but I was too weak. I was so weak all I could do was float in the weightlessness.
As I was floating in the abyss the only thing that would work was my brain. I was trying to think about how to get out of this when the memories came washing over me. Everything went black, then exploded in color.
*Memories*
410 years ago (His last interaction with people he knows for 410 years)
he had finally calmed down. It had taken him months to get out of the panic. The tide was the calmest it had been in months, a normal red flag. He was still conflicted inside and the tide reflected it. He felt bad about his family in Tartarus and could only hope the castle would protect them.
He was sitting on a familiar beach, staring over the waves. The amount of times he had come here in the past year was far too many. The past year. Percy groaned as he thought over everything that had happened.
He had lost his family, was made a god, went to Tartarus, found out he had a sister, and had started a rebellion.
He shook his head. "Too much for one year," he complained.
He felt someone coming up from behind him. He jumped into the air, turned around, and landed with a sword in hand. He looked at the newcomer. Frizzy red hair, paint spotters, and worn out clothes. Percy's eyes widened as he realized who this was.
"Rachel," he said, barely audible.
She grimly nodded, then ran towards Percy. She started to sob into his shoulder and he sobbed into hers. They stayed like that for almost a while, no words needed, just a friend that wasn't dead.
When they finally collected themselves, they sat on a cliff looking over an ocean.
"Where were you," Percy asked. "We could've used a blue hairbrush or two."
They both chuckled darkly.
''Believe me, I wanted to stick a hairbrush or two in a much more painful place than Tartarus's eye." She smiled lightly at this thought then, her face darkened. "I wanted to help, I really did but I got trapped. My cave collapsed. By the time I got out all that was left was a battlefield, filled with bodies.''
She looked like she was about to cry but held it in. "What about you?"
"I was the one who finished him off . All of the gods came down, collected me, brought me up to Olympus and made me a god." He had distaste hidden in the words.
" How did you -"
"Later," Percy snapped. When he saw the scared look on Rachel's face, regret washed over him. "Sorry, I'm just not ready to tell it again."
They sat there in an awkward silence, when Rachel passed out. Percy instantly was above her watching her twitching body flail in all directions.
"RACHEL," he screamed. "RACHEL!"
Soon the flailing stopped and Rachel went into a light sleep. She woke up about 10 minutes after the event.
"How long was I out," she asked, not even slightly phased. When she saw that Percy's face had lingering fear on it her heart dropped.
"Shit," she said. "It was a prophecy wasn't it?"
This woke Percy up out of his daze, He shook his head and said, "No, thank goodness no. What did you see?"
"You," she said, sounding confused. "Except you were 12 and was at school. You were talking to Chiron, except you called him Mr. Brunner."
Percy was confused too, this sounded like the day he attacked by one of the Kindly Ones.
"He said something about you getting expelled, but then it changed. It was still the same room, the situation the only difference, instead of Grover standing by you, you were standing by you. You looked how you do now, big buff, slightly depressed." She was interrupted by a light punch on the arm.
"Shut up," he grumbled.
Rachel laughed a little then continued with her story.
"Older you was there and he looked me in the eye and said 'convey this message to the present. A new generation of demi-god is to be bred for an army. They will be more powerful and there will be lots of them. All remaining Olympians, excluding Hera and Artemis, will mate at alarming rates. They will be unfaithful and will ruin the lives of those whom they conceive with. Rescue the children.' He looked at me one last time, then took the hand of a younger you and flashed away. Then the dream really changed but I was only able to see flashes. I think it was Tartarus, the place."
They sat in silence for a moment as Percy realized what had just happened. He had a quest, something to do. He actually hugged Rachel. He had something that he could pass time doing, he could make a difference while still staying away from people he knew.
"Thank you," he said.
"You're welcome, I guess, "she said confused.
"Hey, I and a few other Olympians are over throwing's Zeus and whoever is with him. Do you want to -"
"YES! Finally someone who knows what they're doing is going to overthrow that asshole. Only question is, is Apollo on your side?"
When Percy nodded Rachel's smile grew even bigger.
"So you're in," he asked. He was promptly smacked upside the head.
"No wonder they call you seaweed brain."
He chuckled, and flashed them away to the palace.
"Stay here, tell Annabeth I love her but I have things I need to do. Tell my kids the same thing. Prepare space for those to come please. Get the training arena ready, ask my children to help."
With that Percy flashed away.
*new memory*
Percy was running through the woods. His clothes being torn up by branches.
"KEEP RUNNING," he yelled ahead to a young demigod. They finally reached the end of the forest where a cliff dropped off into oblivion. They were trapped. Percy looked around for a way of escape. When he saw none he turned to face the beast following him. The minotaur had somehow reformed and was now staring them down. The young demi-god let out a small yelp. Percy turned at her and looked into her grey eyes.
"Stay right here," he said as he went to face the beast.
The fight was quick to say the least. Percy defeated his old foe in three quick slashes. He turned back to the young child of Athena.
He took something out his black backpack and threw it to the side. Where the small disk had touched the ground now stood a tent. He threw another disk and a new tent was from, opposite of the other one. He gathered a few sticks together then murmured a small prayer. Then the fire erupted with great warmth and comfort.
The young demi-god looked at Percy with awe. He gestured to a spot of the cliff near the fire for her to sit down. He summoned a small amount of ambrosia and nectar for the girl and himself. He removed the black mask covering her face. The girl sat down and started to eat as she observed the man.
He was tall, about 6'1. He was wearing all black. He had tight black jeans, a sweatshirt and a black belt. He also had a black backpack filled with all sorts of things. He had a light tan and sea-green eyes. His face looked young but worn at the same time. She could tell that he had been through a lot because his posture was ridged, ready to jump into action at any moment.
"What's your name kid," he asked.
"Lea," she replied.
"Lea,' Percy said as if contemplating the name. "I'm Percy."
Lea's eyes widened when she heard the name. "Are you THE Percy Jackson?"
Percy let out a small chuckle then answered. "Depends, what have you heard about me."
"You're the rogue god. You started a failed rebellion. My dad said you weren't as bad as the gods made you out to be and if I ever met you then I should join you. I don't know what he meant though."
"Well Lea, yes I am That Percy Jackson. But the rebellion hasn't failed, that's a lie the gods started to spread false peace. The rebellion has just started. We ARE going to throw over the gods. Rightnow I am recusing the god's children."
"Why?"
"They want to use you, exploit you, put you in a war without your consent."
"Oh," Lea said, her voice small. "My mom would do that to me?"
"Your mom? No. She is on our side but is spying on the other Olympians."
Lea's face flooded with relief. "What would happen if I joined you?"
"Well it depends on how old you are." Percy gave the child a look that perfectly conveyed the question.
"10," she said.
"Ok well, if you want you would be trained for war. You get to pick what kind of training you get though. You could gte more hands on training for battlefield work or you could be trained for spy work. You could also choose to train in areas that would help with the war but you wouldn't fight. You would train in medicine, or other stuff."
Lea thought this over, "I think that sounds better than being forced."
Percy smiled, "glad you thought so Lea. Now finish your meal then we need to go to bed. Tomorrow morning we get to go to headquarters."
Lea nodded then turned back to her meal. When she finished she was feeling a little warm but overall fine. She headed to bed and so did Percy.
When the morning arrived Percy packed up camp and flashed the pair to headquarters. He dropped off Lea, leaving her with palace staff. He made sure that she had a room first then left.
He had completed his first mission.
*End of Memories*
Percy woke with a start. His hand clapped over his eyes as he was blinded by light. When he finally got used to the light he let his hand drop.
Where am I he thought. He was expecting the welcoming blackness of the trench. He was sitting around when he saw who had brought him here. He immediately tried to flash out but found himself unable to.
"Asshole," he murmured. "Why am I here?"
"Oh, our uncle had a few questions for you," Triton said.
"Well, you can tell him that no answers are coming out of my mouth mind or anything. Also why are you doing this, I thought you were always on dad's side?"
"The tides have changed little bro," Triton remarked, smirking.
