As Sonic appears in the workshop, Tails and Amy run up to him. Amy is worried about him.

"Sonic?! Where were you?!"

He tiredly holds up the unconscious girl in his arms.

"Help her. I had to use Chaos Control all the way from Icecap. I'm exhausted, and want to sleep."

Tails nods before taking the girl from his arms, and Amy takes Sonic's hand before leading him back to his bed. Then the fox carries the young girl to his room. He sets her down on the bed, then wraps her up in many layers of warm blankets. Tails then turns on the heater in his workshop. Then he pushes a button that turns the bed the girl is on, into a patient's bed. He quickly runs back to her side, and is just hoping that she doesn't have pneumonia.

(She already has a mild to severe case of frostbite. I hope her fingers and toes don't fall off...if so, however, I may be able to build a machine to stitch them back on. But it would probably be traumatic for that young girl just seeing her extremities fallen off…)

He sighs, then pushes another button. This one pulls down an X-Ray machine. He points it at her chest, then pushes another button. This activates the machine, which sends the photo to his computer. Tails sends it back up into the ceiling. When he looks at the photo, he sighs in relief.

(Phew! No pneumonia! She got very lucky that Sonic saved her!)

Then he shuts down his laptop to update, and goes back to the girl's side.

(She's not shivering anymore. That's good.)

Suddenly Amy runs back in.

"Hey Tails!"

"SHHH!!"

She sees the girl asleep in the bed, and looks at Tails.

"How is she?"

"She has a mild case of frostbite, but fortunately no pneumonia. She should wake up in a few hours, so I'm going to stay with her. How about you go check up on Sonic since Knuckles went back to Angel Island."

Amy nods, then rushes off to Sonic's house. Meanwhile, Tails pulls up a chair, and puts several heating pads to the girl's body before sitting down. Eventually, he starts dozing off…

Amy is running back to Sonic's house.

(I hope he's awake! If the girl is not awake yet perhaps we could go on a date!)

She smiles to herself. Then when she sees the small house, her grin widens. She quietly turns the knob and opens the door...only to jump back in surprise as Sonic runs up to her.

"OH!"

Sonic laughs.

"Hahaha! Sorry Amy!"

She smiles.

"It's ok!"

Sonic then develops a serious look.

"Is that girl I rescued okay?!"

Amy shrugs.

"Tails just asked me to check up on you. Is your strength back?"

Sonic then does a thumbs up.

"Yup! I feel like I could Chaos Control to Angel Island!"

Amy giggles.

"That's good. Now come on! Let's check on Tails and the girl!"

She takes off, and Sonic easily runs past her. This causes Amy to sigh, before exclaiming in surprise as Sonic grabs her hand and she is suddenly flying through the air while the blue hedgehog runs. Soon they come to Tails' Workshop. Sonic grabs Amy with his other hand before gently sending her winded form back on her feet. Amy then walks up and opens the door.

"Huh? Where's Tails? Thought he would have been tinkering with the Tornado again."

Sonic shrugs. Then he hears soft snoring. He motions to Amy, then puts a finger on her lips to tell her to keep quiet. She kisses the finger, earning a glare from Sonic. Sonic then walks over to the source of the sound. Amy tries to stifle a giggle as they spot the sleeping brown fox in the chair. Amy turns to Sonic, who smirks. Then he sees the red haired girl is waking up. Sonic is immediately by her side.

"Ugh…"

The redhead's hazel eyes open. Upon realizing she's in an unfamiliar place, she begins to panic.

"Wh-where am I?!"

She starts looking around frantically, not noticing Sonic or Amy right in front of her. Hero and heroine try to calm her down, but she's in a full fledged panicked state. The commotion wakes up Tails, who immediately grabs a spray bottle and sprays water on the girl, calming her down. Then he pushes Sonic and Amy behind him. The girl nervously speaks.

"Y-you're him, aren't you? The fox friend of our hero?"

Tails nods.

"Yup! My name's Tails."

Sonic and Amy step out from behind him.

"Hey hey hey! I'm Sonic! Sonic the Hedgehog!"

"I'm Amy Rose!"

The young girl's eyes light up as she is in the presence of her planet's heroes. She sits up, then tries to stand before stumbling back.

"WOAH!"

Sonic quickly grabs her arm.

"Are you okay?"

The girl nods. Tails gets an idea.

"Hey guys. Follow me outside of the workshop."

Amy nods, then walks up to the girl and takes her other hand. Together the group heads outside in the nice cool air. Then Tails leads them to a bench, and they sit down. The brown fox looks at Sonic.

"I think that you should explain how she got here."

Sonic nods, and plunged into the story about him going to Icecap after hearing her cry for help. Once he's finished, he looks at the redhead. Then he asks about her.

"I've spoken to you twice before, who are you? And how did you end up in Icecap? That's really dangerous for a little girl like you."

She looks down at her feet upon hearing him say that.

"I'm...I'm Ella."

Sonic tilts her head up to look him in the eyes.

"Well you seem to have recovered nicely. But, why were you in Icecap? It's no place for a young one like you."

Ella nods.

"I...I wanted to find a special flower that grows only there. It was supposed to be a present for my mom, since she's always wanted one of those kinds of flower. But, the cold got to me."

She starts shivering again. Sonic wraps an arm around her.

"That's a very nice thought, getting a gift for your mother. But why not wear appropriate clothing. You are wearing a yellow dress."

She looks down at her dress, then back up to Sonic. When she answers, there's a hint of sadness in her voice.

"My family is poor. This dress...I will admit I stole it. I'm-I'm sorry."

Amy runs up to her as a tear falls down her cheek. The pink hedgehog hugs Ella.

"It's ok! Tell you what-you stay here with us...and then once you're ready to find your family, we will take you to them and see what we can do to help them out!"

Ella's eyes light up, and she squeezes Amy close to her. Amy laughs, and so do the boys. Tails then walks back to set up a room in the workshop for Ella.
