Aqua's POV
I was on a walk with Sonic...okay, it's so weird walking with him! Why? He's the fastest Hedgehog in his world and here! A-and he's just...walking! Sonic never 'walks' he speeds down the sidewalks, fields you name it! Oh boy. I shook my head while playing with my charm bracelet gently, I don't know why he brought me out here, but... it's a big waste of time.
"Aqua...?"
I blink, stopping realizing Sonic stop walking. I turn around smiling apologetic, but he smiled shrugging.
"So, what were you saying Sonic?"
"Well, I was wondering if you remember anything else?" I kind of forgot about trying to remember my lost memories.
"Yeah, it came to me when Bianca told me about my father getting me this charm bracelet, for my birthday. Sadly he never came home, he died coming home." I told him softly, my heart aches remembering that feeling of loss and pain of losing my father.
"Sorry for asking...I bet it was hard for you and your family huh?" He replied with a gentle voice.
I nodded smiling sadly "It was a rough two years, but, I had to be strong for my mom and my little brother Shino...god I miss that sly brother of mine." I chuckled remembering my little brother Shino.
"Whoa, you have a little brother? Wow, is that why you're so motherly towards Tails and Cream?"
I chuckled softly, nodded "yep, the beginning I never knew why but now I know why heh, it was my big sister instincts kicking in." Smiling brightly, Sonic smiled at me making me blush bashfully.
"Wh-what? Stop smiling at me, mister! It sends a girl the wrong message." I teased him after I pouted.
He grins "Nah~ I can't help it Aqua...not to sound weird but; when you smile and talk about your family...your eyes shine like the stars, which I figure sounds so cheesy now."
I snicker behind my hand "Do you need crackers with that cheese?"
He chuckled, with a roll of his eyes.
"But seriously, if you ever find the person, our kind or human? Just know, I'll be talking with him first."
I raise my eyebrow teasing manner "what if I dated a female?"
I crack up laughing seeing the blue hedgehog and, the fastest hedgehog tripping over his feet, while his face turns red making him a stuttering mess. He huffed glares at me playfully. It went on like this, playful teasing, and sibling bond. He even thinks of me as a sister which I was happy about.
It was getting close to dinner when Sonic picks me up, and speed us back to Chris's home. He's been acting all dodgy and such, but I let it slide...for now.
"Come on Sonic, why must you blindfold me when we got back?" I whine out, pouting which earns a chuckle from said blue Hedgehog.
"You'll see. Okay...you ready?"
He finally stops making me stop as well. I nodded, and he took the blindfold off. I blink away my blurry vision from the dark behind the blindfold.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
I gap in surprise, shock, and confusion.
"Wh-what is this? Wait...my birthday?" I mumbled the last part softly.
Bianca walks over smiling wildly.
"Yep! It's late but happy birthday besty!"
"Ms. Aqua! I hope this cheers you up." Cream rushes over holding Cheese in her arms.
"Chao, chao!"
"What? Cheer me up?" Frowning, they did all this...for me?
"Yeah, Bianca told us your birthday. Than Amy did the rest." Knuckles spoke up, he looks like he was forced into helping by the look he gave a smiling Amy.
Then I thought 'why?' Amy walks over grabbing my hands smiling brightly.
"You like it?"
"Like it? Ames, I love it! It's so sweet and generous of you to do...but," Amy frowns, eyes shine in worry.
"But?"
"It's a waste, I-I don't deserve this amazing surprise. I-" I was cut off by Amy, who was furious I shrink down in fear of her fury.
"Don't you DARE say that!" Her glares deepen making me gulp "yes, the Fire Crystal Orb is crack." I open my mouth but quickly shut it when she gave me that 'look' "But, that's no reason you should just quit! We will NOT let you give up!"
"Amy's right Aqua." I look at Sonic, he put his hand on my shoulder giving me a stern look.
"B-but-"
"No buts! Enough feeling sad, theirs gotta be a way to heal the Fire Crystal Orb."
My ears perk up when Amy mention healing, I gasp softly eyes widen than closed smiling. I hugged Amy, then pulled away.
"Thank you, Amy! Your brilliant!"
"E-eh?" She blinks confused about what happened most likely.
"What do you mean Aqua?"
I smiled "I was talking to the Crystal Orbs spirits today, and the nature one told me 'You can heal Flare, don't let sorrow and pain cloud what's important...' and I didn't get it until Amy said it too." I explained to them happily.
"Whoa, whoa! Wait a minute...you 'talked' to them?" Bianca ask me flabbergasted.
I nodded "yeah, but when I remembered her words and then heard Amy say it too. It got me thinking...how can I heal a crack Crystal Orb?"
Everyone shrugged "By their shrine! And while I put it there, I summon Undine to help heal it up faster." I told them happily.
"That's wonderful news sug, do you know where that shrine is?" Garnet steps up.
Nodding "Yes, It's in the volcano of course." I told them "but right now...I just want to enjoy this birthday party, it's for me after all." I said with my hands on my hips smiling brightly.
"Yeah!" Everyone cheered/shouted out in glee.
It felt like hours now, I was having so much fun I have forgotten how fun parties were. I end up remembering some things from when I was human, I was happy but...I didn't care if I remember my past anymore, cause right now...all of these people who took their time to set this amazing birthday party, just for me and that made me forget the pain, I went through and the stress of finding the crystal orbs.
"Come on, Aqua! Come dance with us!"
I chuckled, seeing Bianca waving like some wild woman with Garnet, Cream, Amy was waving me over.
"Okay, okay! I'mma coming girls!"
'Mistress, watch out!'
My eyes widen hearing Undine shouted out in my mind, with quick reflexes I dodge from pieces of the roof falling. Screams and shouts of surprise echoed all around me, I stood back up on my feet, frowning narrowed my eyes seeing a figure in the dust that came up from the sudden entry.
"Wh-who the HELL is that!?" Bianca shouted, but coughed from the dust.
My eyes widen, in confusion when the dust settled and standing there motionless, looking around with it's cold, empty red eyes was a metal version of Sonic! I step back when its eyes locked on me. I lift my hand with the crystal orbs around my wrist jingle getting its attention. It started walking towards me, I quickly summoned my ice spear tossed it at him but he just tilts his head to the side while still walking towards me like the ice spear didn't happen!
I kept summoning ice spears left and right but he kept dodging them, just side-stepping but he was still walking towards me! Panting from using allot of my energy, from summoning my ice spears. I kept walking backward, the same time he walks towards me.
I gasp when my back hit a wall, I tried using the wind to push 'it' away but...it didn't even affect it!
"It's inevitable to resist, if you do not resist I won't harm you, as much," it said in an empty emotionless robot voice.
"Wh-what happens if I resist...?" I stuttered out, where was everyone!?
"...Then I have no choice but to take you by force, my orders are additionally to bring you back alive...it didn't say if I have to harm you, so I can bring you back to the Doctor." It replied to me, it was standing right in front of me staring into my eyes with its empty cold eyes.
"...No, I won't go with you willingly or resisting! I rather DIE than go with you metal head!" With a flick of my wrist, earth from under the metal being sent it flying in the air "Thanks, Gaia..." I whispered, hearing a soft female voice from before when she calmed Frost and me down.
'Any time mistress. Ah! Watch out!'
But it was futile, I didn't move in time and I was hit sent to a wall hard. I cried out in pain, falling to the ground on my stomach.
"Aqua!"
My ears were ringing, but I heard Sonic's voice but it was like I was underwater. I weakly used my hands to push my upper body, but I had no energy. I fell back down whimpering, with blurry vision I saw that metal version of Sonic walking towards me until I couldn't keep it up seeing black spots in my vision, I let the darkness consume my vision fully, passing out.
Somewhere unknown
Still Aqua's POV
"What do you mean it won't come off!?"
"S-sorry, sir but we all tried even Metal Sonic tried, aahhhh!"
Footsteps echoes making my ears twitch a little, groaning softly I finally came too, I gasp remembering the events that took place!
"Ah, I see you finally awaken, hohoho!"
I used my hands to push my upper body up, glaring at a man behind bars playing with one side of his beard smirking down at me.
"Eggman...your a real party crasher, you know that! I was having the time of my life until you sent your stupid look-alike machine after me!" I shouted getting up grabbing the bars.
"Hohoho! Yes, I have been informed that Metal Sonic crashed your party hohoho! Too bad, now hand me those crystal orbs hedgehog."
I step back hugging the charm bracelet close to my chest protectively.
"No! I rather die, then give you them! Their not weapons! Their living beings who have hearts and feelings too!" Glare harder at him "and I won't let you have them, I'll protect them from your evil grasp!"
When I denied him of the crystal orbs, he wasn't happy but my heart drops when he grins and laughs.
"Wh-what's so funny, huh!?"
"Hohoho! Thank you for the idea my dear~ Eggbots! Take the hedgehog to my lab and...shock her hohoho!" He walks away laughing that annoying laughter, while I kicked and screamed when they grabbed me and started dragging me out of the cell.
Two weeks later
Eggman's dungeon cell
It's been two weeks...I think? Eggman was 'kind' enough to tell me how long, I have been his capture and lab rat for those two weeks. I was weak...and my whole body ached, I was laying on the messy blanket that was made into a bed? When I felt a warm human hand on my forehead.
Opening my eyes seeing a blurry vision.
"Oh, Aqua...I'm so so, sorry. I hate every second Eggman is shocking you, I wanted to save you but...I'm powerless. I'm not allowed to step in...I hope you can ever forgive me." I heard the girl sob softly.
That's when I remember the voice!
"R-Ro...sa...?" I weakly called her name, but cough.
I felt her rub my back gently, to soothe my coughing fits. When I calmed down, I felt arms moving me around carefully until I was leaning against someone's lap and chest, arms wrapped around my aching body.
"Stay strong Aqua...Sonic and the others will find you, if not you must help Metal Sonic. Dr. Eggman took away his freedom. If you give Metal his free well, he will most likely help you...but I can't tell you 'how' but...just listen to your heart Aqua, I know your kind heart can melt the coldest of hearts."
Her voice was fading along with my consciousness, I end up passing out from the pain.
I suddenly jump awake, seeing my cell door slide open standing there holding a tray of food, is Metal Sonic. Suddenly I remember what Rosa told me before I passed out, I have to free him...frowning, even if he harmed me and crashed my party Eggman went too far in stealing someone's free well. I have to set him free, but how?
"The Doctor is being merciful, hedgehog, he decided to give you some nourishment to live another day." His robotic emotionless voice echoes the cell room I was in.
"..." I weakly using my arms, to push my upper body weight so I can sit up while leaning against the wall.
He walks over setting the tray of the food and cup of water in front of me on the floor, and he was about to leave seeing my chance I spoke.
"Why do you serve him, Metal?"
He stops, which I was happy I got him to stop, thank god. He turns around with his glowing crimson red eyes staring into my emerald green eyes, with such emptiness.
"I was created to serve the Doctor and only him, I must return to the lab."
Pushing back the pain, I quickly and painfully stood up on my feet and grab his metal wrist? Causing him to tilt his head, I was surprised...
I blink "Your...I'm shock but confused, I thought you be...cold but, your...warm." I said softly, looking from my hand that was wrapped around his wrist than look at his glowing crimson eyes that were staring into my soul it seems "Metal...please, you gotta help me. You shouldn't serve Eggman, he's just using you." I begged him, please god let me get through to him.
"Negative, I serve the Doctor and him only -"
"NO!" I snapped, shaking from rage with tears prickled in the corner of my eyes "You don't serve 'anyone'! You serve only yourself, you are the only one that can tell you what to do! You're a living breathing hedgehog! You may be metal, but underneath those parts is a beating heart, metal or not...your still someone important!"
"..."
"Metal...?"
Frowning, he pried my hand from his wrist and walked away without saying anything but not before he closed and locked the cell door. Falling to my knees, sobbing into the hand that gripped his wrist. I can still feel his warmth to.
No One's POV
Metal Sonic walk through the hallways of Eggman's ship which was like a fortress, floating in the sky. He was troubled, he did not know why but what that female hedgehog said got to him. Was he serving Eggman or...serving himself? His circuits were glitching like crazy causing his body to have smoke to come off his metal body causing him to froze, his body twitched wildly, seeing error across his eyes.
And just like that, he stopped twitching and stood still like a statue. The smoke still came from his metal body, his red eyes dimmed until there was no more red.
Suddenly his eyes glowed back to his crimson red eyes, he raised his claws/hands looking at his right, left then right again than looking forward narrowing his crimson red eyes glowing brighter.
"...So the Doctor decided he can try to control me yet again, hn," he closes his fist grinning, and started walking "We'll see about that, shall we, Doctor?" He said in a menacing voice.
Aqua's POV
I shivered feeling cold, I started to wrap my arms around myself while rubbing my arms to stay warm. It's been hours since Metal left me to eat in peace... I was snap out of my thoughts glaring at the two robots that always drag me to the lab, which they grab my arms and started to drag me even if I struggled, they were stronger than me. I could use my crystal orbs but...they oddly wouldn't work, maybe because I was so weak right now? I was strap onto the chair, as always.
They started the shock torture, in the middle of it Eggman left to let his robot lackeys to keep shocking me when he came back after starting a fight with Sonic and the others. So I was alone with them, lovely I don't know if my body can handle any more shockings. I felt so out of it, my vision had black spots appearing in my vision hearing a big boom sound near me and crashing sounds of metal being broken? My eyes were half-closed when I felt my restraints being undone blinking slowly lifting my head up and was happy and surprise to see Metal.
"...M-Metal, y-you did it...you broke his control over...y-you." I barely got out before passing out feeling an oddly metal warmth surround me.
Somewhere unknown
Groaning softly, when I came too I realize I was laying on hard rocky flat ground and it was the dark but not too dark cause of a fire near me with the fire crackling. Using my arms to push myself up, I put my left hand to my head feeling dizzy, nauseous, and weak.
"Finally up hedgehog?" A familiar robotic male voice echoed around the cave, but it didn't sound emotionless, it sounded like he had more emotion to it.
I turn my head slightly to the left at the entrance of the cave stood Metal, he walks over to the fire dragging a dead animal. I was horrified but then I remember, I needed food so I prayed for the animal's soul to be at peace while he skinned it then started to cook the meat over the fire. I look at the charm bracelet that held the crystal orbs but the fire crystal orb was still cracked.
'Am I still good enough to save both worlds? W-was I truly fit for this mission? Look what I have done to the Fire Crystal Orb...w-would they forgive me? No! I shouldn't put myself down like this! Sonic, Amy, and the others all have faith in me, so I shouldn't give up hope!' I scolded to myself in my thoughts.
I snap out of my thoughts when something was shoved into my face, blinking looking at the meat than Metal, and back to the meat again. I gently took it from his grasp, smiling at him.
"Thank you Metal..." He nodded and walks to the wall right across me.
I started eating the meat while thinking about how to find my friends, but then I remember I have to heal the Fire Crystal Orb before anything else. Hopefully Metal agrees to help me, I think he would make things easy so in a way he'll protect me from Eggman and his lackeys while I heal the Fire Crystal Orb, but I just hope it'll work.
