(Lunch with Kushina and Minato, Kusinas Point of view)
Where is my husband? Really it can't be this difficult to be on time. And the food I made will be cold, if he comes not in the next 10 minutes. And I am hungry..dattebane, Minato come home!
Then I heard that the door opened. And Minato said: "Sorry Kushina, but the talk with Hiashi took more time then expected."
"Minato, you really have no better excuse today?", I said a bit angry but was happy that he was finally home and that we could at least have dinner together, even if it was just for a short amount of time.
"Amazing, you have cooked a feast. That looks so delicious.", he said smiling at me and then at the food I cooked.
So I stopped being angry and sat down. I put some food on Minatos plate and then on my own.
"Itadakimasu!", we said at the same time and we started to eat.
Minato looked at me and then at my belly and we ate in silence. Normally he talked about his work while having dinner with me, but today he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts.
"Minato, is everything alright? Did the conversation with the Hyugas not go as expected?", I asked worried.
"No, or ah... I mean actually it was better then expected. We will have 3 more Chunins next month with strong eyes.", he said a bit at a loss.
"And this took you so much time?"
"No, after the discussion about the 3 new Chunins, Hiashi cornered me..."
I interrupted Minato and said: " I really doubt that Hiashi cornered you honey."
"Maybe that was the wrong word, you are right. But he talked about you, Naruto and the ninetails."
"What?!"
"Yeah...he was worried that Konoha would be in danger because of the ninetails."
"But Sarutobi-Sensei already has everything planned out!"
"Yes, I know. But he wanted me to reconsider the plan and to talk to Shikaku and to Sarutobi. He even had a solid argument in our conversation when he said that the Uchiha and sealing masters are the only ones in the village, who can stop the ninetails for a certain amount of time. But you know that the elders of the Konoha don't trust the Uchiha because of the failures of Madara and our sealing masters are occupied at the borders of Konoha at the moment. And I know that the Uchihas are not allowed on any missions during Narutos birth they are ordered to protect the inhabitants of the Leaf if something goes wrong. At first I thought Hiashi is just a Worrywart Idiot but he had a point. If something goes wrong with you and me the few Anbus can't stop the ninetails!"
"Okay...yeah maybe Hiashi has a point. But what will you do now?"
"Naruto will be born in October and so we still have a bit of time to rethink the plan. I will call a meeting with Shikaku, Sarutobi and Fugaku. Maybe I can convince him and Sarutobi that he will be one of our guards during Narutos birth. I trust Fugaku and I know that he will be prepared if something goes wrong. Maybe Shikaku could be our other guard. But I will clarify details with them, when it's time."
"That sounds alright to me. But honey you really should start eating you have only 5 minutes left."
Minato took his last bites of the food and went back to work. What was wrong with Hiashi? Could the idea of becoming a father- people like Hiashi change this much? Was he really worried about the village and his clan?
(Clan Meeting Hyuga)
(Hiashi Point of view)
I sat in front of the Clan next to me my wife and my father. Everyone stared at me and waited that I started to speak.
"I have good news for the Clan. Starting next month there will be 3 new Chunins in our Clan. Starting next month Masahiro-san, Makoto-san and my brother will take place in missions as chunins. Hizashi and me talked today to the Hokage and he agreed to our Idea. As you already heard the chunins from the 3 new branchhouse will give 35% of their payment to the mainhouse. I am pretty sure that my Brother, Masahiro and Makoto-san won't be the last chunins from the branchhouse, if someone wants to get promoted to chunin you can talk to Hizashi and he can talk to me. I think this new chunin Management will bring more fortune to the clan and will strengthen the village. And a warning to all of you, if there are any disputes while being on a mission between main and branch house the Hyuga in general won't be allowed to be part of any missions in the future."
My father interrupted me :"Hiashi you did not talk this trough with me and the other elders. In these circumstances I am against the promotion of 3 new chunins."
Thanks Dad...really now. I am Clan Head. Was I really this weak, when I was younger? No wonder there was no change in the Hyuga Clan, when I was young. So I said with a firm voice:
"Father, I have completely faith that we all are capable of being responsible shinobi while being on a mission. Additionaly Makoto-San, Hizashi and Masahiro-San are already officially promoted by the Hokage." (I did not know if Minato already had signed the papers, but I was annoyed by my Dad.) "So if you want to explain to the Hokage that we are not capable of being good shinobi you can talk to the Hokage yourself. Any other complaints?" I asked and looked straight at the elders and my father. I could see that they were all pissed, but no one said anything.
"Good this was all for today. If there are still any questions left I will be in my quarters. Thank you for your time. Have a nice evening."
Mai and me went back into our quarters like the rest of the Hyuga. I had tea with my wife and one hour later my father knocked on our door.
