Raving Love
Down in the glowing waters of Techno Lagoon, you could hear a thumping beat going on for miles. Synth was leading an epic rave, with every Techno Troll pumping their arms in the air, bopping their head to the beat, and having a good ol' time. Synth shouted, "Woo-hoo," as the crowd followed his actions and shouted along with him. Synth had a huge smile on his face as he said, "Now this is the perfect way to spend the day: partying and raving! It makes a troll feel so...*imitates blow horn noises"! Suddenly, he heard someone else imitate air horn noises as well, with the same amount of energy as he did. It made Synth curious as he asked himself, "Hm...I wonder who's doing that." He went deep into the crowd to find out himself and what he saw made Synth become surprised. A female, periwinkle, sparkly Techno Troll with glowing cyan blue hair and a beating magenta heart was raving to the beat as she shouted (Voiced by Rebel Wilson), "Hey-Oh"! The crowd copied her shout and were having a lot of fun as Synth remained speechless, looking at the girl with a pink blush developing. He has never met or seen anyone who loved to rave as much as he did, and now, she seemed to drop out of heaven and make his beating heart flutter with excitement. Then, he saw that the girl was about to notice him as he quickly hid in nervousness while the girl kept the raving motion up, shouting "Who here's having a good time"?! The crowd cheered in response as Synth then decided that if he was going to get her attention, he would need some help in romance, and luckily, there was one troll he knew that could help him out with this kind of situation.
Branch was looking at different floral pattern designs to see which one could look great for the wedding when he heard someone furiously knocking at the door, shouting, "Dubstep! I need your help"! Branch instantly knew it was Synth, hence calling him Dubstep, as the loner troll climbed up to the door of his bunker and opened up, saying, "Hey, Synth. Are you ok? Is something wrong"? Synth frantically shouted, "Yeah, there's something wrong! I'm in love, and I have no idea what to do"! Branch placed his hands up as he said in his most reassuring voice, "Ok, ok, ok, ok. Calm down, Synth. Calm down. Now, from the beginning, tell me everything that happened." Synth took a huge deep breath before saying, "Well, I was raving with the other Techno trolls, and I felt so happy, I began doing this...*imitates air horn noises*! Anyway, after I finished, I heard a female voice doing the same thing, with the same amount of energy as I do. So, I went to look, and in the crowd, I discovered a Techno Angel." His eyes started to get big as he looked up at the sky in a lovesick trance, saying, "Ah...she is so pretty, and she loves to rave as much as I do. I'm developing a huge crush on her, and I really want to go talk to her," before facing Branch and becoming frantic again, saying, "But I have no idea what to do! I don't know how to act around a girl romantically! What do I do?! What do I say?! Do I need to bring her a gift?! Tell me, Dubstep! Tell me,"! Synth forcefully shook Branch as the loner troll stumbled back before saying, "Easy. Look, it's great that you like a girl and have a crush on her, but you don't need to do anything too special to impress her or gain her attention. The best thing you can do is be yourself."
Synth scratched the back of her head as he said, "I don't know, Dubstep. I mean, what if I say or do the wrong thing? What if something happens that makes her hate me, or she never wants to see me again? What if she never notices my presence"?! Branch placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, saying, "You never know unless you give it a try. I'm sure that if you act naturally and be yourself, she will notice you and hopefully, also like you back." Synth started to feel less nervous, but inside, he still doubted that his normal self would be enough to impress the girl. He decided that he was going to get a second opinion from Branch's fiance: Poppy, as he smiled, saying, "Thanks for the advice, Dubstep! I'll come by later and tell you how it goes," as he started to leave while Branch went back inside his bunker. At Poppy's pod, after Synth told Poppy about his situation, she calmly told him, "Synth, I think it's wonderful you're beginning to experience first love! But you don't have to do anything differently to get her to notice you. Just be yourself, and she'll come to you." Synth sighed as he then said, 'Well...maybe I'm doubting my normal self because I'm afraid she won't like me for who I am." Poppy gave him a comforting hug as she said, "Synth, you are perfect the way you are. you don't need to act or say anything differently to impress her." Synth still didn't feel fully confident as he then asked, "Well, if I may ask, Poppy, how did you end up falling in love with Dubstep, anyway? Did he do or say anything that made you swoon over him in a glittery wave of love"?
Poppy giggled as she answered, "Well, before, we did not have any friendly, mutual, romantic feelings. Well, I had friendly and mutual, but Branch was a bit of a grump. He did not have many friends, and he did not want to feel happy at all. Then, when our friends were in danger, Branch and I had to venture out and rescue them, and while we were on our little journey, in a way, we kind of...connected. Especially once we freed everyone from the clutches of darkness, after that, we started to get to know one another and...the feelings just...happened." Synth took note of this as he asked, "So, if I rescue her from evil, then she'll notice me"? Poppy screamed in shock as she said, "What?! No! What I'm saying is that you have to warm up to her first. Get to know one another, as yourselves, and let the special connection come naturally to you. Does that make sense"? While Synth seemed to understand Poppy's advice, he was still experiencing a little self-doubt deep down. Seeing the nervous look on his face was enough for Poppy to figure that fact out herself as she said, "why don't you try to talk to her? Trust me. You'll be just fine if you act normally and be yourself." Synth nodded in response, saying, "I'll give it a try," as he left to go back to Techno Lagoon. However, he first stopped by a booth to pick out three things: a box of chocolates, a beautiful rose, and a rainbow glowstick. With those items in hand, he started to walk back to the pond, saying, "These gifts will surely help her notice me, and then, once we get to talking, we can let the fireworks fly as we rave, have some fun and...*imitates air horn noises*"! Suddenly, a rustle in the bushes caught his attention as a huge spider appeared and looked hungry. Synth gulped and ran for his life as the spider pursued it. Looking for a place to hide, Synth dove into a bush, dropping the rose and box of chocolates in the process, as the spider ran past him, crushing those two items with its giant, cylindrical feet. Synth saw this occur in horror, and once the spider was gone, he ran to the fallen items and picked them up, hanging his head in defeat.
He sadly sighed and said, "What's the use? There's no way she would ever notice me or want to talk with me even with these things. I'll never be able to talk to her, even if my crush on her wasn't making me so nervous! Maybe I should drop the beat and quit before I make a fool out of myself." Synth sadly sat by the crushed items and sighed, feeling really upset. Suddenly, he saw a shadow approaching him as he saw that it came from Aggie, who was hovering over him while asking, "Synth, are you feeling ok"? Synth looked up, saying, "Oh, hey, Aggie. I'm alright; just a little disappointed in myself is all." Aggie looked at the crushed rose and box of chocolates before looking back at Synth, asking, "You wanna talk about it"? He nodded, saying as Aggie flew down and sat next to him, "See, there's this girl I saw earlier that loves to rave and party as much as I do. she even does the *imitates air noises* with as much energy as me. Plus, she's wonderful and is a fun troll to hang out with. I wanted to talk to her, but my crush on her made me nervous, so I went to ask Poppy and Branch what I could do to get her to notice me so I can talk. They kept saying, "Be yourself, act naturally, get to know her first," but even with their advice, I still can't help feeling jumpy, nerovus, and doubting myself because I don't want to give the wrong impression or make her hate me. I keep fearing that being myself won't be enough, and I'll either get rejected, ignored, or just tossed aside like old broken records. I thought these gifts could help, but a spider vetoed that idea before I could even give them to her."
Aggie placed a caring hand on his shoulder as she said, "Synth, I think it's great that you've found someone that's taken ahold of your heart. But just like Poppy and Branch said, you don't need to do anything special to get her to notice you, and even if she doesn't, something you should know is that love takes time. You're not always going to fall for someone and get them to start dating you on the same day. Take me, for example. When Trollex and I got caught in the twister, we were at first good friends and spent four days trying to find our way home. With each day passing, the little things we did together: swimming, setting up camp, him taking care of me when I got sick, it just brought us closer and closer. Then, when I risked my life, taking the bite from that Tarantulapuff for Trollex, who was about to get bitten, our little bond started to grow. When I recovered, and the events leading up towards the Battle of the Bands occurred, we started to develop a romance, going on small dates, hanging out with each other, etc. Things became official after I got my True Colors, and Synth and I have been romantically bonded ever since. So, you see, Synth, love isn't an "immediate thing to react to" kind of feeling. It's one that takes work on both ends. The same way you're working on talking to her, she also had to put in the effort to get to know you before she can decide if she likes you or not." Synth started to piece things together as he then asked, "But what about me? Sometimes, I find it hard to be myself because I feel like I act too energetic, too crazy, or even too awkward around others. And while no one seems to be bothered or too bothered by that, I'm afraid she might, and well...it scares me."
Aggie nodded in understanding, saying, "Synth, love can be a little scary at first, and sometimes, it can make you a little self-conscious or even terrified about taking a rise you believe might blow up in front of your face or fail and shatter your heart into a million pieces. I remember how I felt when I first started dating Trollex. While it was nice, deep down, I was nervous and scared...mainly because I didn't want to have my heart terribly broken and hurt like from a previous experience with another troll long before I met you guys and the leaders. But either way, as long as you keep your heart open and allow yourself to be mental prepared for whatever may come. As a result, even if it's not what you were hoping for, then love can feel more like a treasure rather than pressure. Instead of listening to your mind, Synth, let your heart be your guide and trust it to help you find your way." Aggie helped Synth up on his feet as she then began to pirouette and spin while signing in a melodious voice.

Synth smiled as he said, "Wow, you're right, Aggie. I guess I got so caught up wanting to make a good impression and get her to notice me, I was freaking myself out over something that might not even happen right away. I reacted too quickly on my developing crush for her, and it made me act all nerovus for no reason." Aggie smiled, saying, "See? Now, why don't you go and try to talk to her? And if she doesn't reciprocate the feelings right away, work up to it as you two become friends." Synth nodded, saying, "I will, Aggie. And thank you for the advice." He started to head back to Techno Lagoon as Aggie started to fly back to Trollstopia. Underwater, Synth found that the rave was still going, and the girl from earlier was still partying energetically, saying, "Let's turn it up! Woohoo," as the crowd cheered with her as the music started to get louder. Synth took a deep breath as he swam back into the crowd and slowly approached the girl. He said to himself, "All right, Synth. Just be yourself, and take it slow. If I'm going to be myself...I'm going to enjoy this rave"! He then started to pump his arms in the air and shouted, "Rave the roof! *Imitates air horn noises*"! The crowd copied what he had said as the girl mimiced his air horn noises perfectly, making Synth smile as he then said, "Turn it up," as the crowd repeated what he had shouted from the top of his lungs, the girl saying it the loudest. Synth started to swim backward around the crowd, saying, "Let the music take control," as the crowd helped him crowd surf. The girl looked up and noticed Synth crowd-surfing as she said, "Now, that's a raving crowd surf"!
Synth smiled as he said, "Then, let's drop the beat and keep this party going! Woohoo," as the crowd cheered along with him while they kept pumping their arms and celebrating. Now, the girl wanted to talk to him as she swam up to Synth, saying, "Hey, you know how to throw a killer rave there, buddy"! Synth chuckled, saying, "If this rave's a killer, then I must've died and gone to heaven because this is fun"! The girl laughed and said, "Ha! You're pretty funny. Do you know that? And I can tell by your energetic personality that you love raving as much as I do"? Synth nodded, saying, "Yeah! When we rave, it makes a troll feel so happy, you want to shout," as they both mimiced air horn noises in unison, the crowd following tout suite. The girl then said, "Ha! I like you! What's your name, fella"? Synth replied, "I'm Synth, and you are,"? The girl replied, "The name's Stereo. I know it sounds weird, but my parents know the minute I was born that I would grow up partying hard and raving till the sun comes up"! Synth chuckled as he said, "That's what my parents said about my brother and me too"! The girl smiled, saying, "No way! You have a brother,"?! The Techno ambassador nodded, replying in excitement, "Yep! He lives back in Techno Reef, and he loves a good rave! In fact, every time he's at a party, you can say he "lights" it up." Both trolls had a good laugh as they kept raving and dancing with one another before the girl asked, "Say, you're a great troll to hang out with. You want to be friends,"? Synth smiled and responded with, "Stereo, I know we are the Tech-NO trolls, but to that, I have to say," as he shouted with the crowd, "Tech-YES"! The crowd got really pumped up as Synth and Stereo continued to rave and jam with the rest of the crowd.
A few days have passed since that day, and in the morning, while Aggie was chatting with Poppy, Branch came over, saying, "Hey, guys. Have any of you guys seen Synth? I haven't seen him a couple of days since he went to try and talk to the girl we had a crush on." Poppy and Aggie shrugged their shoulders as Aggie replied, "We haven't seen him either. I hope he is doing alright." Suddenly, Synth's voice could be heard, shouting, "You bet I'm alright, poppy, Aggie, and Dubstep"! They then turned and saw Synth coming towards him, with Stereo by his side, as he said, "Guys, meet Stereo, my new girlfriend"! Branch, Poppy, and Aggie were surprised and happy for Synth as Aggie said with excitement, "Congratulations, Synth! You're one lucky troll," as Poppy asked, "How did you ask her"? Synth explained, "Well, after hearing your advice, I returned home and started acting like myself, enjoying the rave. Then, she noticed me and came up to me, and we connected through our love of raving! W became fast friends, and over the past couple of days, we just spent getting to know one another." Stereo added, "Then, around dinnertime last night, after having so much fun, I told him that I had a little crush on the guy, and as it turns out, he had one on me too! So, I asked him if he wanted to try dating for a while, and he said yes! Then, he asked me the same question, and I said yes"! Synth then exclaimed, "I was so happy, I did loop-de-loops, and she did too! So now, we are a happy couple and ready to turn the music up on this relationship"! Branch said, "We're so happy for you, Synth. You deserve to have a special troll like Stereo," as Synth replied, "Just like how Poppy deserves you, Branch, and Aggie deserves Trollex."
Aggie then grabbed a camera and asked, "You mind if I take a quick picture of you both? This would be great to show Trollex"! Synth nodded while Stereo said, "Of course, Aggie! Flash that camera"! Aggie brought it up and took a quick picture, saying as it came out, "Trollex's going to be so surprised to see that his twin brother is now dating someone," as she rushed to fill out a postcard. Poppy, meanwhile, said to Synth, "Guess it worked out in the end for you." Synth nodded, replying, "Yep, and I really got to thank you, Branch, and Aggie for the advice you gave me. guess when I took it slow and allowed myself to act naturally, I ended up getting noticed without having to do anything too extravagant." Stereo added, "Yep, and now, to celebrate, there's only one thing to do"! Synth pulled out his turntables as the couple both said in unison, "Rave about it," as the music started to play, and everyone danced along to it, pumping their arms and cheering along with the happy Techno couple.
