A/N: Alright this chapter is right on the edge of the T rating but the next chapter will absolutely be M, so be warned. Enjoy!
Niles only had a split second to register what was happening before he relaxed into the kiss and grabbed her around the waist, pulling her close to him. He seemed to forget where he was as the only thing registering on his mind now was C.C.'s body pressed against him and her lips connected to his. He deepened the kiss for a moment before C.C. pulled back, halting things from going any further, and gave him a sly little smirk before turning her attention to the couple standing before them. His hand still circling her waist, she leaned into him and placed her hand on his shoulder almost as if to place claim on him.
C.C. smiled sweetly to the couple. The man's eyebrows were raised in surprise and the woman looked C.C. up and down, summing her up. After a few moments of silence Niles seemed to find his voice. Clearing his throat he spoke.
"Jeremy, Christine, this is my lovely wife C.C." He then turned to C.C. "Darling, these are some old schoolmates of mine."
With the fake smile still plastered on her face, C.C. shook both their hands. "Pleasure to meet you both."
"Likewise, dear." Christine responded. "Though Niles is being a bit modest I'd say. He and I used to be an item back in the day." Christine smirked at C.C. It almost seemed as though she was challenging her.
"So what is it you are up to these days, Niles? I've done pretty well for myself, running my own auto repair business and what not." Jeremy stated proudly. Could these two be anymore transparent? C.C. thought. These two were definitely challenging them.
C.C. Spoke up before Niles had a chance to respond. "Oh he hasn't told you? He certainly is being modest then. Niles owns several high end shops all along time square in New York. Isn't that right, darling?"
Niles fell right into character. Truly the man could be an actor, she thought. "Ah yes. It can be quite a busy job, hard to find time to get away and visit home. Especially if C.C. has a show on Broadway at the moment."
Christine looked to C.C. "Oh are you an actress?" She asked.
C.C. Laughed "Oh heavens no. I'm a producer. My partner and I produce shows on Broadway together. Dealing with actors has truly got to be the worst part of my job."
She noticed Christine's jaw clench at her words. These two had definitely approached Niles with the intention of showing off and now it seemed things weren't going as planned. C.C. smirked then noticed Jeremy's eyes slowly dragging down her body. His gaze made her uncomfortable and she glanced at Niles to see if he had noticed. She saw him glaring daggers at the man across from him and felt his hand tighten around her waist and pull her in closer. She squeezed his shoulder in reassurance and then spoke, eager to get away from the two in front of them.
"Darling, my feet are aching after all that dancing, let's go back to our table." She looked back to the couple. "It was a pleasure meeting you both." She gave them another polite smile then grabbed Niles hand and led him back over to their table. Once they reached their table Niles pulled her chair out for her and she looked out of the corner of her eye to see the couple still looking at them and took that opportunity to pull him in for another quick kiss then smiled at him warmly and took the offered seat. She noticed a pleased look on his face as he took his seat across from her. She glanced over her shoulder one more time to see that the couple had left the table then turned her gaze back to Niles who was looking at her expectantly.
"Those two were idiots." She said. " Not happy with their own lives so they try to talk themselves up and make others feel bad about themselves." She spoke quickly, her nerves hitting her all at once now that she realized what she had just done.
He continued to stare at her for a moment before speaking.
"C.C." his voice sounded husky and his gaze was heavy. He reached for her hand and pulled it to his lips, pressing a gentle kiss to her knuckles, then another to the back of her hand. His eyes slid up to meet her gaze.
It had all happened so quickly but after the little display she just put on in his defense he was fairly sure his suspicions had been she had simply wanted to put on a show she wouldn't have kissed him the way she did. Not once, but twice. At this point Niles couldn't care less about Jeremy, or Christine, or even about the reunion. Right now all he could think about was her, how her kisses sent electricity through him, how nice her body had felt pressed against his, and how she was looking at him wide eyed now. Her face was flushed and her eyes showed anticipation for what he would say or do now.
He smiled against her skin then flipped her hand over and kissed the center of her palm moving his face so that his cheek rubbed against her hand as if she were cupping his face. C.C. remained still. His eyes met hers again and he spoke.
"If all of that back there was just an act….tell me to stop."
He looked at her for a moment, waiting for her to say something but she stayed quiet and continued watching him. He rubbed his cheek against her hand again then moved to kiss the inside of her wrist gently before pulling away. His hand still holding hers he entwined their fingers and C.C. finally found her voice.
"If I was your wife….what would you do now, at this point in the evening?" She asked him.
His gaze still heavy he leaned forward and spoke softly, his eyes never leaving hers.
"At this point in the evening I'd say I had my fill of this reunion and I'd suggest taking you back to our hotel room. " He paused before continuing. "Then I'd prove to you just how beautiful I think you are."
"Yes." C.C. said, the word coming out in a breath.
Niles lifted an eyebrow at that. "Yes, what?" He had to hear her say it.
"Yes to your suggestion." She leaned into him, dropping her voice. "Take me back to our room Niles."
Niles couldn't help the wide grin that spread across his face. He felt like a kid in a candy shop. He stood and pulled her to her feet with the hand that was still holding hers. Fingers still intertwined, she followed him out of the large room and back into the hallway. She noticed he was walking fast, almost as if he thought she would change her mind at any moment.
She laughed at his enthusiasm but followed along without saying anything. Then he halted his steps abruptly and she nearly bumped into him. He had stopped in front of the stairwell he had shown her earlier, he seemed to be contemplating something, then his gaze met hers again and he gave her a wicked smile.
"What is it?" She asked, puzzled.
"Come here." He said, then led her down the first round of steps, stopping on the platform in between the first set of steps and the second set that led to the lower level of the school. He backed her into the corner just out of sight of the upper level where they had just been standing. Her body was now trapped between him and the wall, he pressed himself against her and began kissing down her neck.
C.C. gasped when she felt his lips on her neck and she wrapped her arms around him. He began to speak in between kisses.
"You see, after seeing Christine with that jerk in there," he punctuated his kisses with small nibbles as he began moving up to kiss her jaw. "I decided I'd like to replace the memory of my first kiss with her with an even better memory."
She pushed him back and looked at him seriously. "I have no interest in competing with your ex." She said.
Niles smiled and shook his head. "There is no competition C.C. She has absolutely nothing on you. Never has."
She dropped her hand from his chest and pulled him back into her by his tie, their lips meeting hungrily. She caught his lower lip between her teeth and he pulled her waist flush against his so she could feel his erection pressed against her. She ground her hips against his, rubbing against him and he growled at the friction, the sound sending chills down C.C.'s spine.
Niles moved his knee between her legs, the best he could considering her floor length dress, and rubbed against her center creating a delicious friction of her own and she clutched onto his shoulders to steady herself.
He broke their kiss and looked at her, his gaze dark with lust. "I think it's time we move this somewhere more private." He said and she nodded her head, slightly out of breath. He kissed her one more time before taking her hand in his again and leading her back up the stairs and out of the building.
