Chapter 12. The Return of Uzumaki Naruto!
The following morning.
"Mmm ohayou," Nami greeted.
Kakashi was already awake and yet remained in bed, holding his kunoichi against him. She was snuggled into his chest and once Nami greeted him he smiled and kissed the top of her head. The moment she woke, her first thought came to the man she was currently using as a personal pillow. She looked up at him and smiled.
Her mind thought back to last night and a faint blush appeared on her cheeks. Kakashi was a very giving lover. They made love four times last night and now she was starting to wonder if she was even going to get up at this point. She felt sore and yet completely happy. She moved a bit, placing a gentle kiss on his jaw.
"Did you sleep well?" he asked as he gently rubbed her back.
"Yes, but after last night I might not be able to walk," she stated as a small smile appeared on her lips.
Kakashi let out a chuckle as he watched her intently. His eyes wandered, taking in her naked body and he already started to feel himself get aroused.
"I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist you," he replied.
"Don't you dare apologize. Last night was amazing," Nami said and she attempted to sit up.
"I'm guessing we're skipping morning playtime today," he teased as he also sat up.
"How do you still have any stamina left?" Nami questioned.
"Are you telling me you don't like it?" Kakashi questioned right back.
Then he gently scooped her up and picked her up, carrying her towards the bathroom. Nami winced but held onto him.
"I do like it but what are you doing?" Nami asked.
"Isn't it obvious? We're taking a shower. The hot water should help with the soreness," he said as he gently set her down.
That afternoon.
"ONEECHAN!"
Nami turned around to see a familiar sight. There in the middle of the main street were Jiraiya-ojichan and a taller version of her younger brother. A wide smile appeared on her face as she took in the sight of his appearance — as if to verify that it was truly him.
"NARUTO!" she exclaimed.
Then Nami rushed to the blonde-haired knucklehead and wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. She laughed happily as she held her younger brother in a tight embrace, while tears of happiness slid down her cheeks.
"Pff…oneechan …. crushing me…. can't breathe…" Naruto mumbled out.
Nami loosened her hug but still did not let go of her brother.
"I missed you! Stop growing! You're taller than me!" Nami exclaimed as she let go of him.
"I missed you too oneechan. We have to go see Tsunade-baachan. Come with us?" Naruto asked.
"Let's go then," Nami replied.
"And then we go get that ultimate-miso ramen together," Naruto grinned all excited.
"Absolutely," Nami replied as they made their way towards the Hokage tower.
The Hokage's office was filled with people as Naruto finally arrived home. There was Tsunade-sama and her apprentice Sakura, Jiraiya, Naruto, and Nami. The door opened and revealed another person. Kakashi entered the room.
"Yo!"
"Sensei! You haven't changed at all. Oh! Before I forget … Here! I have a present for you Kakashi-sensei," Naruto said as he looked through his backpack.
"Nani? This is …." Kakashi replied in shock.
Naruto handed him a book, leaving Nami to press her fingers against her temples to ease a budding headache. Her brother did not just give her boyfriend — then again, Naruto was not really aware of their relationship — an erotica novel. She turned to Jiraiya and gave him a look that said it all. Did you spend two and half years training my brother and exposing him to your perverted ways?
"You see this is the newest edition in the Icha Icha Paradise series in three years. It's really boring but you like it, don't you sensei?" Naruto asked as he passed him the small blue book.
"Enough stalling Kakashi. Get to work," Tsunade ordered.
"Huh? You're my opponent?" Naruto asked, as Kakashi tucked the book into his vest.
"That's not quite correct. I'm going to fight against Naruto and Sakura. The two of you together," Kakashi stated.
They made their way to the training ground three. As they reached the grounds, Nami stayed with Jiraiya watching from the distance as the three began their fight.
"Alright, we are going to do a second bell test," Kakashi started as he pulled out two small bells from his pocket.
"Be nice to Kakashi. I'd like to see him in one piece after all this," Nami said specifically to Sakura as she was aware of her immense strength.
Sakura turned to speak to Nami," Don't worry Nami-san. I won't punch your boyfriend too hard."
Naruto raised an eyebrow at learning that new piece of information and looked at his former sensei.
"Kakashi-sensei, I'm not sure how I feel about you and my sister dattebayo," Naruto stated as he and Sakura were engaging Kakashi in a fight over the bells.
Nami rolled her eyes at that statement and called out," He's your sensei Naruto! Be respectful!"
"We have been together for two years Naruto. I might as well tell you that we live together. Now let's get to test," Kakashi replied.
While the trio engaged in the small exercise, Nami sat down on a bench next to Jiraiya. The pair of them observed the bell test from a distance. The blonde kunoichi leaned against the elder man, feeling happy that he was back in her life. After a moment, Nami broke their silence.
"Tell me ojiichan … what news do you have of the Akatsuki?"
"I'm afraid the rumors are true. It's only a matter of time before the Akatsuki try to capture Naruto. I've done as much as I could prepping him for what's to come but … that does not mean I'm not worried. The rumors of the Akatsuki leader, they trouble me," Jiraiya stated.
"I have to help my brother, I cannot lose another loved one," Nami said.
"I'm sorry that you were sent on that mission Nami. I know it hasn't been easy for you these past two years, but know that I'm proud of you," Jiraiya said with a smile.
"Arigatou ojiichan. I just hope I can be there for Naruto when the time comes."
"We will all do our best to protect Naruto. He's definitely improved from what you last remember. Besides, you're a strong kunoichi Nami-chan, you will help protect him no matter what. You made a contract with the felines of Uzushiogakure at age eight and let me remind you that the last person to summon Shiori, the guardian of underworld was your great-grandfather Uzumaki Hirota. The fact that the feline didn't devour you on the spot once you summoned her …tsk… Your speed rivals your father's, and your perfect chakra control can be deadly. You do not recklessly rush into a fight like your brother. I'm sure your skills as a kunoichi will be greatly needed for us to win this fight," Jiraiya replied.
"Shiori is fond of children. I guess that kind of worked out for me but thank you ojiichan," Nami smiled.
"Who would've thought a demonic cat would have an actual soft spot," Jiraiya shook his head in disbelief.
"She would not enjoy hearing you call her a demonic cat," Nami laughed.
"Shinigami's pet then," Jiraiya offered and then chuckled.
They focused on the bell test, watching Sakura attack Kakashi.
"It looks like Tsunade raised another Tsunade," Jiraiya noted as they watched Sakura split the ground with a single punch.
Nami grinned all proud seeing the pink-haired kunoichi scare both shinobi.
"GO SAKURA-CHAN! THAT'S RIGHT! SHOW THEM WHAT YOU GOT!" Nami cheered.
A few weeks later.
The Akatsuki was on the move. Naruto was dispatched with team Kakashi to help save Gaara in the Hidden Sand. Nami remained in the village as she was currently still not permitted to participate in high ranking missions and instead chose to focus on her medical studies. Each day she pushed herself to the limit, wanting to prevent anymore loss of life. However, this routine started to become too much. Feeling caged within the village, Nami volunteered to be an assistant to the medic-nin. Although her medical skills were still developing, she was willing to learn and what best way to learn than in the field. She jumped at the chance when Tsunade asked for volunteer medics to be sent to a small village in the land of fire — supposedly there was a gas explosion in one of the older buildings and several people were injured. So, there she was, making her way towards the village, carrying supplies and what-not along with a fellow medic-nin Aoi.
"Shit! It's the Akatsuki!" Aoi exclaimed and she readied an open attack towards the cloaked man.
Nami dropped the supplies to the ground and unsheathed the tanto blade, readying to attack. This was a trap. Aoi came to a halt and dropped on the ground, locked in a genjutsu. The cloaked man walked forward, towards the blonde kunoichi. Not you.
"Is this how it ends Itachi? So be it!" Nami called out and she flickered to attack him from behind.
She knew better than to face him in the open. She knew better. She knew that she wouldn't win. The young man matched her speed and captured her. He grabbed her face, turning it so she would look at him. Nami resisted, reaching down to her pouch and pulling out a kunai. She wasn't ready to give up. She raised her hand, ready to plunge the kunai into him. She hesitated. She couldn't kill him. He saw her hesitation and grabbed her wrist, making her look in his gaze. His eyes met with his.
"I need your help Nami-chan."
Nami stared into his red eyes and became lost in the Uchiha's genjutsu.
