Chapter 22:

Welcome Home Everyone!

The next day, a few dragonflies flew around the grass-covered field near the cave.

Soon, Uhuru and his friends appeared from the cave as well as the herd as they stood by as the herd looked upon the valley as the Struthiogazella squawked with astonishment.

" Welcome home everyone," said Uhuru smiling.

Then a Paraburrolophus bellows out before rushing out as soon the other Ungusaurs happily rushed out of the cave and into the valley. Uhuru smiled for the Allorhinus is defeated and his adopted mother could rest in peace.

Many months later, a nest with a clutch of dozens of eggs rest peacefully as one egg rests in the center. Then a familiar snout lowers down and gently nudges the egg and smiled. Then the head lifts up revealing Uhuru as he happily smiled and turns to Mfalme.

" Wait up, everybody. I can't miss the opportunity to see this," said Bullodzer joining them.

" Well, Ah'll say you Bull-horns sure have soft hearts," said Trya as she and Bulldozer laughed.

" Look! Somebody wants to meet us, " beamed Mabawa.

The egg in the center stirs showing signs of life. Soon a piece of the shell cracks open and Mabawa gently peels the piece away.

" Oh, aren't you the sweetest little one I've ever did see," said Mabawa.

Then she moved aside.

" Hey, little guy. You look just like me," said Uhuru as he greeted his new firstborn son.

" Meet your dad. He's not as crazy as he looks," said Mfalme as she chuckled and Uhuru gave a funny smile.

The little Iguanohippus foal coos as he begins to break free from his eggshell and sneezed.

" Look at him. He's so cute," said Bulldozer.

" Well done little one," said Trya.

" No doubt about it. He's got his mother's eyes," said Mabawa as she grabbed the foal and looked at him with a smile.

" And his father's adventurous instinct too," said Trya as she giggled at her joke.

Then they turned to see One-ton coming at them cheering and came to a stop.

" So dudes, are we gonna stay here until our homes recover or can we stay a little longer?" asked One-ton.

" Let's see what the herd thinks," replied Uhuru as he whinnies out.

Then Uhuru lifts up and whinnies as Mabawa screeches. The Kritohippus foals whinnied as well as Bulldozer joins in and then Trya bellows out as well. Uhuru continues whinnying as Mfalme and everyone else bellowed and whinnied out as One-ton joins them. Nearby, a Paraburrolophus nest with three hatched eggs sits as the foals jostled as their mother stood over them. Nearby, is an Einioscruffa nest as the mother stood watching her three newly hatched babies.

Then the Paraburrolophus lifts up and whinnies out as primitive flying hoofed birds flew by as they called out. The Einioscruffa joins in as she bellows out. Then Kritohippus, Tenontohipppus, and Ultratheriums infants rushed by as they bellowed and whinnied. The little Ungusaurs ran by with the birds flying over them.

" The Valley Of Freedom was all that they dreamed it would be. A land of green leaves and colorful flowers and life. There are waterfalls, grassy meadows, enough tree-stars to feast on forever and rising upon them a new generation,"

" Uhuru and his friends don't know what changes big or small lie ahead of them,"

All the other Ungusaurs of the herd bellowed and whinnied out as the juveniles got to the shore of the lake and the birds flew off.

" One thing is certain their journey's not over. They can only hope that in some small way their time here will be remembered,"

The herd continues as a few Torobison, Kritohippus, and Ultratheriums were in the water.

" As they tell the story from generation to generation, each passing the tale to the next. The tale of…"
