Chapter 22 Romantic Advice Gone Wrong

Five Minutes Later

Nita, Koda and I were watching to see how Kenai's plan to impress the moosettes was going to go.

He stood on top of a rock, and started fake roaring at them.

"Um...", I started in confusion. "Why is he faking roaring? He can actually roar."

Koda just shrugged his shoulders at me in reply.

"This is stupid", Nita pointed out.

"Agreed", I added.

But despite that, I was recording what was going to happen with my Gummi Phone, since I'm sure Larxene would love to see Kenai trying (and failing) as Rutt and Tuke's wingman. Or I guess wing-bear in this case.

"I'm a big hungry bear", Kenai started (not really convincingly might I add). "And I'm gonna rip you to shreds! Roar!"

At this point, Rutt and Tuke were supposed to come out and 'save' the moosettes, but I'm not quite sure that they got the memo.

"I said...", Kenai started again. "I'm gonna rip you to shreds!"

This time, Rutt and Tuke remembered what they were supposed to do and jumped out from where they were hiding.

"Fear not moosettes", the latter 'reassured' them. "I Tuke, and my brother Rutt, will save you, aye. What ho, largest bear."

"Touch not those fare moosette ladies", Rutt 'commanded.'

"You'll have to go through us if you want them", Tuke stated.

"Yeah", Rutt added. "You'll have to kill us!"

Rutt seemed to realize what he said a moment later.

"Maybe not kill us", he corrected. "But just, you know, push us down or something."

With that, Kenai ran up to Rutt and Tuke, and this time, he properly roared at them.

For some reason, this made them totally forget that this was just an act, and they ended jumping back in fear and floating away.

The moosettes also seemed to realize that this was a setup, which made them very angry at Kenai...which resulted in him getting shoved into a beaver's nest.

"That went well", Koda pointed out sarcastically.

Then, we all walked up to Kenai.

"Hey Kenai", Nita started. "I thought you were supposed to be scaring the moose?"

"Do you think you can help me out here", Kenai asked.

With that, we all walked onto the beaver's nest and started trying to get Kenai out, but while we were doing so...something happened.

Nita tripped...and the bag that had the amulet in it...started floating away!

"Oh no", she yelled. "My bag! My bag! The amulet's in my bag!"

"It's floating right in front of you", Kenai pointed out. "Just grab it!"

Nita was about to do as told, however, she suddenly seemed to get very afraid.

"You get it, she commanded. "I can't. I can't. It's right there Kenai! Get it!"

Realizing that something was going on, I decided to take action.

I reached out and grabbed the bag before giving it to Nita.

"Thank you so much Lauriam", she said.

"You're welcome", I said. "Now come on. Let's get off of here."
