Best Laid Plans-Ch 11
Dave walked back into the room a few minutes later and said, "well I talked to the doctor and got him to agree to put you and kitten in the same room so they are going to move your bed down here". Derek smiled and said, "thank you Dave, thank you so much", he said, "I can understand son, I know how much you love her and I also know that you don't want to leave her side".
Derek said, "the first thing I'm going to do when she wakes up is tell her the truth, tell her how much I love her", JJ said, "awwww" and Derek grinned and said, "and I figure it's about time, right" causing everybody to nod their heads yes in agreement. Hotch leaned in and whispered, "and I want a protective detail on their door all of the time until we figure out what's going on".
Emily said, "what is Strauss going to say"?, Hotch said, "don't worry about her, I'll take care of her, right now we need to focus on keeping Derek and Penelope safe" and everybody nodded their heads and said, "agreed" in unison. Fran sat down beside her son and said, "why don't you close your eyes and rest honey, we'll be here".
Derek said, "if anything changes"?, Fran said, "we'll wake you, I promise", he smiled and looked at Penelope and gently squeezed her hand before laying his head down against the back of the chair and closing his eyes. Sarah said, "I've never seen him like this before", Desi said, "that's because he's never been in love like this before".
JJ said, "he's been in love with her for so long but things were never right for them, not until now", Emily said, "and it's taken him almost losing her to make him finally realize how much he loves and needs her". Reid said, "they are both head over heels in love with each other but afraid that admitting that would cost them their friendship".
Dave said, "I have no doubts that Derek and kitten can't be together, their passion for one another is so deep, so great", Fran smiled and said, "and they are destined to be together, they always have been". Sarah grinned and said, "love looks good on him", Desi said, "if anybody deserves to be happy it's Derek and Penelope" and everybody smiled and agreed.
When Derek woke up a couple of hours later he found his bed beside Penelopes and he couldn't help but smile, Fran looked up and said, "well hello sleepy head, how are you feeling"?, Derek said, "better momma, better". Reid said, "do you think you could eat now"?, Derek said, "food sounds good pretty boy, it sounds reallll good" as he watched Reid put his food down in his lap.
Derek kept glancing over at Penelope and he said, "I take it their have been no changes in baby girl"?, JJ said, "nope, nothing yet but her vitals are still staying stable so that's something, right"?, Derek took a bite of his sandwich and said, "true Jayje, true". Hotch walked back into the room and said, "I talked to Strauss" and Dave said, "how bad was it"?, he said, "surprisingly it wasn't, she agreed with me and she's ordered the protective detail, they should be here in a few minutes".
Derek said, "wow, wonder what's got in to her"?, Dave said, "that's a good question", Hotch said, "I'm just glad she agreed, now we can focus on finding out what really happened to the man that hit Derek and Garcias SUV". When Derek was finished with his food he tossed the papers into the trash and said, "that was delicious" and Reid said, "I bet your stomach feels better now that you finally have something in it", he said, "you have no idea pretty boy, no idea" as a smile graced all of their faces.
