"One hour until self destruction..."
The screen that had just popped up at the elimination ceremony area on Pahkitew Island now displayed a one hour timer that right away began to tick down. The final six were still sitting in their seats when the timer popped up, startling everyone except Chris. "What!? Let's just get to the boat then!" Amber shouted, getting up first to make a run for it.
Chris stood in front of her as she tried to run off, blocking the path that went down the cliff. "Not so fast! This is perfect for ratings, and further testing some of the adjustments we made to the island. So we'll just jump right into the next challenge!" Chris told them all, snickering afterwards.
Max looked the most frightened, although he was doing his best to hide it as soon as he stood up. "What is the meaning of this!? You said you fixed this cursed island!" Max yelled at Chris, standing beside Amber now.
The rest of the remaining contestants got up from their seats and walked up to Chris as well, all of them awaiting an answer. Chris groaned as he then pulled his personal tablet out, pulling up a map of what looked to be tunnels. "You all know the island is artificial, and it's got some buggy issues from time to time. But we've got this handled! You'll be competing for invincibility and for your lives as you race to shut the island down!" Chris told them, finding the control room on the map and showing it to them.
On the map, it was about as detailed as a game of Pacman, with a big red dot over one room that Chris pointed at. "We moved the control room to this spot, so you'll have to find your way underground and then make your way there! You'll split in teams of two and whichever duo shuts the island down wins! I forgot the password, but you'll have plenty of time I'm sure!" Chris explained the challenge to them, not worried at all for their safety.
"Give me that!" Yvette exclaimed as she reached for the tablet, which Chris just handed over to her. She held it close to her afterwards, hugging it with both arms for the time being.
-Confessional: Yvette-
"That fool! He just handed me the way straight to the control room! This challenge will be a breeze!"
-End Confessional-
The challenge description created plenty of worry with Amber in particular, who soon raised a hand. "Why don't we all just get on the ship and leave? We could die here you know!" Amber asked, not in the shape for this challenge at all with her injuries.
The others nodded in agreement with her, since there was a clear solution to make it so that no one was in danger. "I hate to question our host, but this is a serious threat to all of us." Raphael objected as well, looking the least worried out of everyone here.
Chris groaned at the complaints, pretending to yawn soon after. "'Oh, we're all gonna die, because we're wusses and don't feel like doing the challenge, waaah!' That's what you all sound like right now. Also, this isn't a threat to all of us. Chef and I will be hanging out on the ship about a mile from here so we can get a cool view of the explosion. Unless you guys shut it down. Then we'll just shoot one of you out the cannon." Chris said, mocking them as he began to walk down the path from the cliff to the forest.
As soon as he was gone, the six looked at each other to figure out who would get paired with who. Amber immediately ran off with Katniss, and Yvette did the same with Max. That left Raphael and Alex to partner up, which neither wanted to do. "Ugh, how annoying. At least your strength will be useful in the challenge. Don't blow this military boy, I need the invincibility." Alex told him, slowly walking down the path afterwards.
Raphael followed him down, unsure if he should even help in this challenge. "You may need it soldier, but you're also a traitor to your own team, so why should I help you?" Raphael asked, now humbling Alex a bit.
It took a moment, but Alex was quick on his feet to try and fool Raphael. "You're the one who needs it. The girls have an alliance remember? You're the strongest player here, so if you don't get invincibility, you're toast! They'll probably keep me around as an easy person to vote off. If you did vote me off, then the alliance would just get rid of you and Max soon after." Alex explained as they entered the forest, which was now much darker since it was nightime.
Raphael thought about Alex's words and grimaced, reluctant to agree with Alex. "You have a point. We'll work together in this challenge just to make sure the girls don't go power hungry. But we're not comrades, you got that?" Raphael agreed with him, holding his hand out to shake.
Alex took his hand and shook it, staring Raphael in the eyes. "Oh I got that. Once they're out of the way, it'll just be us against each other." Alex said, not intimidated by Raphael at all.
The two of them looked around for the others now that they had come to an agreement, but they were long gone. "Well, looks like we'll have to find our own way soldier! Let's get moving!" Raphael began to jog further into the woods, staying on the paths Chris formed during the previous challenge since the actual trees were popping in and out of the ground, sometimes with other objects popping up such as rocks, flames, instead.
Alex began to jog after Raphael, but he clearly wasn't as fit for this kind of running like the cadet was. "Slow down man, we'll get seperated if you don't!" he called out, trying his best to keep up.
-Confessional: Alex-
"Raphael was easier to fool than I thought. Max will be stupidly easy too, but at the same time I won't be able to get rid of Yvette right away. I want her gone, but I know Max won't vote for her. They're practically married at this point."
-End Confessional-
Katniss and Amber had ran for the beach on the island, since it would probably be safer there compared to being in the malfunctioning forest. When they arrived at the coast though, they soon found that the area had been entirely frozen over. "What the.. how does it even do that?" Amber asked, stepping slowly and trying to keep her balance now.
Katniss slipped and fell as soon as they stepped onto the frost covered sand, then attempting to stand up only to fall right back down. "This wasn't ice before! This is weird." Katniss commented, not realizing how exactly the island being artificial worked.
Amber helped Katniss up, although she could only use her left arm, since her right arm was still in a cast. "Yeah, the island just... never mind. Let's just see if we can find a hole that leads underground alright?" Amber simplified their challenge for Katniss, not wanting to confuse her any further.
The two of them held hands and walked along the icy sand carefully, looking for any indicator of a way down. "Hopefully the others are having better luck than we are." Amber said, looking closely at the sand beneath them to watch for holes.
Katniss was looking at the sand as well, although she wouldn't have to spend much time searching though as the ground gave away beneath her and ice cracked. "What the-" Katniss didn't get to say much as she fell into the hole, pulling Amber down with her since they were holding hands.
Amber stood up and rubbed her head, looking around them to see the icy cold steel corridors of the island's interior. "Woah! We got in! Talk about lucky! Hopefully we're the first ones in." Amber exclaimed, stretching her injured arm for a moment while Katniss stood up.
The corridor they were in had plenty of steam leaking out the pipes running along the wall, indicating that the island was under plenty of stress right now with all it's malfunctions. "Wow, so this is how islands look on the inside. I thought they'd be all dirt and stuff." Katniss said in amazements, walking forward now and looking at the walls.
Amber facepalmed and walked behind her, looking around for doors of any kind. "Well the control room has to be down here somewhere right? There can't be that many rooms down here either. So if we just move quickly, we'll find that thing faster than a lawyer lies!" Amber had an optimistic tone now, picking up the pace. Katniss didn't get the analogy, but she just picked up the pace as well.
-Confessional: Amber-
"Well am I wrong? It isn't a bad thing they know how to lie well. When you get into politics like I plan to, you'll see it as a virtue!"
-End Confessional-
Yvette and Max were walked near the part of the forest that was on fire, and said fire was only spreading to the other trees. The trees were made of metal mostly, so the fire didn't actually damage them much. "Sidekick! Which way leads to the winning room! I would prefer if you made this snappy!" Max demanded, while Yvette looked over the map on the tablet.
"According to this, there are three entryways that lead into the inner plexus of the island. We are nearing one. Please look out for any indentation or landmark that could hint at a way down. The map lacks enough detail to figure out the exact location." Yvette told him, walking a little slower now as they neared one of the three green dots on the map. One of them was on the beach, one was in the dead center of the forest, and the last one was in a field of rocks that now had toxic goop in a moat around the entry way.
Unfortunately for the duo, they soon left the perimeter of the flaming forest and came across the moat. Inside the circle of toxic waste was more normal ground, with a steel trapdoor in plain view. "There! I see it!" Max shouted, pointing at the trap door.
The gap between the ground they were on and the inner circle was only four feet, but the occassional geyser burst of toxic waste was enough of it's own threat to their safety, so both contestants were hesitant to jump across. Max shook off his look off terror and looked up at Yvette impatiently, crossing his arms and tapping his foot. "Well!? What are we going to do here!? Make yourself useful sidekick!" Max commanded, bothering Yvette further who was just trying to think the situation through instead of being reckless.
It took a moment, but Yvette came up with a solution. She ran over to some of the smaller rocks in the rock field and scooped them up in her arms, then bringing them back over and tossing them into the moat. A massive amount of waste splashed up as a result, but it didn't reach the duo. "Hurry, jump!" Yvette told Max as she hopped across, to which Max frantically followed.
The two of them worked together to pull the trapdoor hatch open, then climbing inside and climbing the ladder down into the corridors. "Excellent. Now the maze on the map will be nothing more than a meager stroll if we follow the map." Yvette said with a satisfied smirk on her face, jogging off in a hurry. Max ran after her too, although he had some trouble keeping up.
-Confessional: Yvette-
"Throwing the rocks into the moat disrupted the energy build up cycle the chemical waste was going through, allowing ample time for me and that vermin to make our way across safely. Without build up, the waste wouldn't shoot up for a few moments in that particular area. It's simple science."
-End Confessional-
Raphael and Alex had jogged their way through the forest, still not able to see anything even resembling a way down into the island. "This is so frustrating! Chris didn't need to make this a challenge, but he just did anyway!" Alex complained, trying to keep up with Raphael who was unaware of how much more difficult it was for Alex to jog at this speed.
"Well Chris is the host, and it's up to him. It being a challenge just amps up the stakes doesn't it? Gotta respect the man for trying to make good TV." Raphael defended Chris, still having some respect despite his actions.
Alex couldn't believe what he was hearing, staring at Raphael in disbelief. "Seriously dude? You still like that guy? No way. You're supposed to be the honorable military guy, not a psycho-defender!" Alex asked, hoping he misheard him.
Raphael shook his head, now stopping in place and looking back at Alex. "There is a difference between liking and having respect for someone. Chris I respect his orders as host, but I do not like his actions." Raphael clarified, not liking the image Alex had of him at all.
"How can you respect those orders? He puts us in danger all the time with them, like right now!" Alex questioned further angrily, stomping the ground a couple of times.
Raphael stumbled on his words for a moment, having trouble coming up with a proper response. "Well he's the host, so we have to listen to him! It's that simple. So let's keep moving soldier, not a moment to waste on squabble like this!" Raphael turned and went back to jogging forward.
Alex still didn't understand it, but he didn't feel like arguing with Raphael any further, so he just began to jog along behind him. It didn't last very long though, as they soon saw an empty hole in the ground. "Oh that must be a way down. At least I hope it is and we aren't just jumping into some furnace instead." Alex said, walking up to the hole and looking down.
Alex quickly dove away though as a tree popped up out of the ground, startling the two of them. "Woah! Well we'll just have to hop down once it goes down. Shouldn't be that difficult right?" Raphael stood near the hole, waiting for the tree to go back into the ground.
"Are you sure this is safe man? Oh wait, you're a Chris worshipper, so you don't care." Alex remarked, smirking at Raphael while they waited. Raphael didn't say anything, but he simply shot Alex a glare.
The tree soon disappeared back into the ground, and the duo hopped down into the hole. They landed on the tree that was in the corridor, and stepped off before it rose back up. "Well we're in! Let's get back to running soldier! Time is of the essence!" Raphael quickly took off again, although Alex had different plans.
"You do that! I'll check a different path!" Alex shouted at him, before turning and walking the other way in the corridor. In this area there were plenty of things coming down from the ground, so he just had to watch his step.
-Confessional: Alex-
"I am so relieved to be away from Raphael. Who knew spending one on one time with a cadet would be annoying. Everyone did actually, since they've got their batons shoved so far up there they don't care about anything else besides that schtick. Pitiful really."
-End Confessional-
Alex continued to walk on his own, and just after turning a corner he ran into Katniss and Amber. "Oh great, more people... this is annoying. I'm guessing you guys didn't have any luck at all?" Alex asked droningly, since he knew they were also looking for the control room.
Amber nodded, looking down at the ground for a moment. "Yeah unfortunately. We don't have that much to report. We found a couple of storage rooms, but nothing even resembling a control room." Amber told him what they had seen, making him groan.
Raphael soon ran up to the group in a hurry, staring sternly at Alex. "Why did you just split off like that soldier!? We're supposed to stick together here!" Raphael scolded him, crossing his arms.
"I was just meeting up with these two. That makes four of us down here. I really don't care about invincibility at this point." Alex lied, surprising Amber.
"Oh, so now that you've been busted, you just don't care about invincibility at all huh?" Amber asked skeptically, crossing her arms as well.
Alex shook his head, then tapping his wrist as if he had a watch on. "No, I would just prefer not dying. So can we just keep moving now?" he replied, turning and starting to walk in the direction Raphael had come from. Everyone else followed, although Amber was still skeptical of Alex.
The four of them walked down the corridor together, staying close and avoiding anything that came down from the ground. "I hope Max and Yvette are doing alright. Who knows if they even made it underground." Amber said, mostly worried for Yvette since if something happened to Max, that would just make things way easier.
Raphael chuckled, thinking of them. "Oh I wouldn't be surprised if those two were getting scandolous together behind some bushes. All they do is stick together, ever since Max showed up." Raphael joked, getting a few laughs from the group.
The laughter was cut short as the giant scorpion from Raphael's previous challenge was lowered from the ground. "What!? We have to deal with that thing!? It'll kill us!" Amber let out a scream, backing away behind the group.
Katniss heard her friend scream and quickly got fired up, so she jumped straight onto the scorpion and now began to kick at it's pincer. Raphael would have helped, but he was currently frozen in fear. "No hurting my friends!" Katniss yelled as she kicked the robotic abdomen off, proceeding to jump up and down on it and crush the robot scorpion.
Amber watched with amazement, letting out a sigh of relief as the light in the scorpion's eyes faded out and it had completely shut off. "Wow Katniss... that was incredible!" Amber praised her. She couldn't clap, but her face showed all her gratefulness.
Katniss hopped off the scorpion, putting her hands on her hips proudly. "Well I wasn't going to let it hurt you guys!" Katniss responded, giving Amber a quick hug.
"Well done soldier, I couldn't have done something like that. Now let's keep going! I don't think we have much time left!" Raphael complimented Katniss, before jogging ahead. The others jogged after him, feeling the time pressure now.
-Confessional: Katniss-
"If I die here, I still made plenty of friends, so I'm happy! Noah, Amber, Raphael, Yvette, Wolfy, they're all great!"
-Confessional: Alex-
"Getting rid of Katniss might be more important than Yvette at this point. She's like a female Raphael, but wild, and much scarier."
-End Confessionals-
Near the center of the island's interior, Max and Yvette had been walking at a brisk pace towards the control room, taking all the correct turns in the split paths to get there. "Are we there yet?" Max asked, not enjoying having to walk so far.
Just as he asked, the robotic voice came on all throughout the corridors. "Thirty minutes until self destruct..." it announced, instilling panic in nearly everyone.
Max shuddered hearing that announcement, looking at Yvette's map for a quick moment. "I want my mommy..." he whimpered to himself, while Yvette rolled her eyes and just kept walking the way the map indicated.
The two of them, soon arrived at the entrance to the control room. Once they were there, a television popped out of the ceiling with Chris's face on it. "Oh yeah, forgot to mention! You'll need a password to get in there!" Chris laughed, getting a scowl from Yvette.
"Max, care to enter the password?" Yvette asked him, gesturing to the number pad in front of the door.
Max nodded proudly and walked up to it. "Let's see here... 1, 2, 3!" Max entered the numbers into the pad, and it surprisingly enough opened.
Chris was surprised it opened as well, facepalming. "I didn't think anyone would think to guess that. Well, invincibility is now for you guys to take!" Chris told them, as the metal door slowly opened up. The television rose back up into the ceiling afterwards.
"Yes!" Yvette cheered for herself as she ran inside with Max, quickly pressing a few things on the main keyboard in front of her and turning on the central control. Max was right behind her, already celebrating their win.
Yvette pulled out a usb drive and plugged it into one of the ports on the main computer, rubbing her hands together as she pulled up some files from Chris's computer. She brought the mouse over to his downloads, and quickly found a folder labelled TDPI. She right clicked it and hit transfer to usb, now letting the download start. "The fool really left all the footage on his desktop. Not surprised whatsoever." she chuckled, staring at her usb drive for a moment while the download went underway.
Max watched this process, confused by what she was doing. "Huh? Just shut the island down sidekick! You're supposed to do what's best for me, which is giving me invincibility by shutting down this cursed island! So do it! Sidekick!" Max ordered, making a grin form on Yvette's face. Those were the perfect words she was waiting for.
Yvette put one hand on her glasses, trying to restrain herself from her own excitement. She laughed to herself for a moment, still facing away from Max.
"I."
"am."
"not."
"your."
"SIDEKICK!"
Yvette threw her glasses off to the side, quickly undid her ponytail, letting her long hair come down. Max let out a shriek as she yelled at him, backing away now. "But.. you... I thought..." Max began to stammer, before Yvette grabbed him by the collar.
Yvette had a sinister grin on her face now, laughing evilly as she held Max. "Oh you thought. Everyone thought. I had them all fooled! But they're not important. What is important, is that you and McLean are going to payyyyy! Pay I say! I'll finish the job Scarlett couldn't! Because like her, I... am... EEEEEEVILL!" Yvette threw Max aside, continuing to laugh maniacally.
-Confessional: Max-
"I was for the record, not scared! I was playing it for the act! Nothing else!"
-Confessional: Yvette-
"Hehe, that was pretty cool right? I was waiting to have that little moment. I don't know how Scarlett made her hair all evil like, but I did my best. I hope she sees this, maybe she'll be proud?"
-End Confessionals-
In the corridors, the group of four was still trying to find their way to the control room. "Why did Chris need to make this place so complicated? Why else would you come down here for anything besides the control room?" Alex complained, feeling as though they were going in circles.
The help they thought they wanted soon came as a television popped down from the ceiling, although it only played audio for whatever reason. "Hello everyone. Max and I have already made our way to the control room. Unfortunately, we are unable to shut the island down from there. You would be required to head to the engine room and tear apart every main component that allows the island to run, on top of disabling the server. You will have to evacuate. I was able to open a tunnel for all of us to escape through, so please save yourselves if you hear this message. It will take you straight to the beach next to the cruise ship, so I would advise hurrying in this direction." Yvette explained in her normal polite voice, before the screen then displayed a map in the corridors that led to an exit.
Amber groaned, infuriated that Chris sent them to die basically. "Chris will be hearing about my lawyers on this one for sure!" Amber yelled, storming off down the path that Yvette had laid out.
Raphael wasn't angry like the others though, holding up a thumbs up to the screen in case Yvette could see them. "Thank you soldier for looking out for us!" Raphael thanked her, before hurrying down the path.
In the control room, Yvette turned off the intercom and double checked to make sure that the tunnel was open. It was a stairway that led straight to the surface, so everyone including Amber would be able to climb up, even with her injury. "Perfect. They are all safe." Yvette said to herself, sighing with relief as she watched them on the cameras make their way to the tunnel.
The television in the control room soon turned on, and Chris appeared on it, looking quickly alarmed. "Oh. So you're another one of Scarlett's clones huh? Well I can't say that I'm surprised. The others will be here soon, so unless you want to face instant elimination, I'd say just take your invincibility and shut the island down." Chris told her noncholantly, while Yvette clenched her fists.
"Quite the contrary McLean. I am merely a Scarlett fan, and I am only here to get even with you and Max for robbing Scarlett of her million dollars. The others have already been dismissed, so I don't think there will be putting a stop to me." Yvette said, still staying polite, although she looked very nervous about all of this.
"Suit yourself, you've got a date with the cannon once the others bring you back here." Chris told her, taking a sip of his coffee and smiling at her smugly.
Yvette smirked back, pressing a few buttons and sending some tree missiles from on the ground at the cruise ship. All of them barely missed, forming a circle around the ship. They had missed, but it was a perfect circle around, showing how well she could aim. "I have acquired all the power I need here. Give me the million dollars or else you're next." Yvette demanded.
Chris shook his head, taking another sip of his coffee. "I think you're bluffing. No one is that crazy. I think I'll just let the others handle this now." Chris called her out, completely dismissing Yvette's threats and then turning off his camera.
-Confessional: Yvette-
"I don't think I have it in me to do follow through with this. I can't... do evil. It just doesn't feel right. Scarlett wouldn't have let the others escape, she would have stuck to making everyone go down. Ugh! This is so annoying!"
-End Confessional-
The group of four hurried to the tunnel, but another television soon popped up and Chris had a grin on his face. "I wouldn't suggest leaving if I were you, unless you want to end up in the cannon of course." Chris warned them, getting an eyeroll from Amber.
"As if! We can't even shut down the island down here, so what's the point!? I'm leaving." Amber said, stepping past the television.
"About that..." Chris began, making Amber stop for just a second to listen to him. "Yvette actually took control of the island and is going to take Max down with her. You can shut it down from there. Come back to the ship and you're eliminated!" Chris told them, now changing the perspective for all of them.
Katniss gasped, while Raphael grew angry. "Which way to the control room then! I have a traitor to put in check!" Raphael demanded, furious his trust had been misused like that.
The screen soon displayed a map similar to Yvette's, displaying the route to the control room from where they were through the corridors. "Just follow this path and you'll get there. I'd be quick about it though because..."
The robotic voice came on, announcing how much time they had left. "Fifteen minutes until self destruct..." the voice announced, prompting the four of them to run off down the corridor and heading down the right path to the control room.
"I'm gonna make sure that nerd gets what's coming to her!" Alex declared, glad that Yvette had finally turned herself into a target for the others.
"Yeah! No one hurts my friends!" Katniss agreed, raising a fist in the air as they ran.
It did not take long at all for the group to arrive at the entrance to the control room, where the door was locked shut. Alex pounded on the door, startling Yvette inside. "Open up, now! Busting this door down and tackling you is going to hurt you a lot more than it's gonna hurt me!" Alex threatened, despite being clearly incapable of doing so.
Yvette didn't respond to them, sitting in the swivel chair in front of the computer. Behind her in the corner of the room, Max was hanging from the ceiling by his feet, tied up in just his underwear now with marshmallows stuffed into his mouth to keep him quiet. He let out some muffled screams as he heard the group outisde. "Mmmf mmmmf!" he tried to call out, but it was pointless.
Katniss now pounded on the door, giving it a few kicks as well. "Open it right now! We're gonna get you!" she demanded, not making a good case at all to open it.
Yvette still didn't say anything just yet, now grabbing her usb drive since the download had finished. Although after hearing Alex and Katniss's demands, she couldn't help but laugh. A television now lowered outside of the control room, and Yvette now appeared to the four of them. "You fools really think you can stop me now!? You were supposed to save yourselves and escape unharmed! But you chose to not listen, and you'll die for it!" Yvette taunted them, a sinister smirk still on her face.
Amber saw things differently though, and had a more sorrow look on her face as she looked at the screen. "Yvette please! This isn't you! Who was that brainiac telling us why we should eat our yogurt, or who was the one who helped us all with our food poisoning? What about Richard? Is this what you think he wants?" Amber asked her, trying to be reasonable.
Raphael nodded in agreement, seeing what Amber was doing. "Agreed soldier! You aren't doing what that crazy Scarlett girl did! You were going to let us go safely. You were a great asset to our team, just stop all this and things will be fine! You don't have to be this!" Raphael pleaded, hoping to get through to her.
Yvette pressed a finger to the bridge of her nose as if she was adjusted her glasses, forgetting for a moment that she didn't have them any more. "N-No! This was supposed to be a flawless plan! You guys..." Yvette had trouble picking what long words to throw at them now, looking ready to cry.
The television popped back up into the ceiling, and Yvette opened up the door to the control room soon after. "You guys really make this difficult you know?" Yvette sighed and let out a chuckle.
Amber ran up and hugged Yvette, while Alex hurried over to the keyboard. "I knew you weren't gone! You went a little crazy there!" Amber exclaimed as she hugged Yvette tightly, while Raphael stood behind the two and nodded.
"You went rogue there, but I'm sure we can move on now soldier. We're even now for all you've helped us." Raphael assured her, giving her a quick salute. Yvette put her glasses back on and redid her ponytail, then gave him a salute back.
A little bit after Amber let Yvette out of the hug, she soon saw Max in the corner of the room, very confused and disturbed by the state he was in. "Uh, what were you doing to Max? I know you liked him, but I didn't think you were going to get kinky with him too." Amber asked, chuckling.
Yvette blushed and shook her head quickly, realizing the implications of how she had him tied up. "No, I was going to torture him, but I just couldn't hurt him. I feel so weak..." Yvette answered with a sigh, now that she had failed the very thing she had set out to do.
"You should feel weak!" Alex taunted her as he pressed control, alt, and delete on the keyboard, shutting the whole island down. "I got invincibility! So your psycho butt is going to be the one sitting in the cannon when we get back!" Alex mocked her, then walking out the control room.
Even though the island had shut off, the loudspeakers in the corridors were still connected to Chris's walkie talkie. "The island is shut down, so I can only assume you guys stopped Yvette. I'll see you all at the elimination ceremony after you vote! I don't think a vote will be all too neccessary though. We'll still have it though, so hurry back over here!" Chris announced, at a loud volume as always.
Katniss untied Max after the announcement, letting him hit his head and fall to the floor. He stood up, rubbing his head in pain. "You cretins! You let my failed sidekick hold me here for that long!? What is wrong with all of you!? No matter, you all stopped her, so you have my gratitude." Max thanked them angrily, before storming out. The four still in the control room exchanged looks with each other, and all silently walked back to the cruise ship. It was a long and awkward walk too, considering everything that had just happened.
-Confessional: Alex-
"That was pathetically easy! I was practically given the invincibility for free! I'm staying in, the girls will be out numbered, it'll be coasting time from here. Assuming all the later eliminations are still votes of course."
-Confessional: Yvette-
"Even if I get eliminated tonight..." Yvette pulled out her usb drive, showing it to the camera. "I have all the raw unedited footage of Pahkitew Island! I get to see every bit of Scarlett now. Sorry I let you down."
-End Confessional-
Even later that night, the final six contestants had gathered on the bow of the ship, sitting on the two benches there. In the back row sat Yvette, Amber, and Katniss in that order from left to right. In the front row sat Raphael, Max, and Alex. The bonfire in front of them was pretty much the main light source in this darkness, since it was nearly eleven pm now. Things were silent, although Alex had a smug look on his face knowing that he was safe.
Chris walked in front of the bonfire, holding a tray of five marshmallows. "Wow, talk about an explosive turn of events! You guys got us some good footage for such a short challenge, so thanks for that! More of the budget for me!" Chris laughed, grabbing the first two marshmallows from the tray.
"You all know how this works. I'm sure you all know how this is going to go too. If you don't receive a marshmallow, then it's off to the Cannon of Shame for you!" Chris told them all, before letting the group have some silence to build up the tension. Although at this point, no one was going to be surprised. "Marshmallows go to..."
"Raphael."
"Alex."
"Amber."
"Katniss."
Chris tossed the four of them their marshmallows, leaving the bottom two to look at each other. Max glared at Yvette, while Yvette just had a look of acceptance on her face. "Yvette, you know why you're here. Max, Yvette gave you a petty vote like she has almost every single episode you were here. Even in the ones you had immunity. So the final marshmallow of the night goes to...

Chris tossed the final marshmallow to Max, leading to the shock of Amber, Raphael, and Katniss. "What!? How did he get it? We all voted for him!" Amber protested, standing up in her seat and pointing at the villain wannabe, who happily ate his marshmallow.
"Because..." Chris began, tossing the tray away. "Yvette kinda sort tried to take over the island, and I'm not a fan of that. So I'm kicking her off anyway." Chris gave his reasoning, which just further angered Amber.
"So why bother with the elimination ceremony if the vote didn't matter!?" Amber asked, throwing her marshmallow at him.
Chris snapped his fingers and Chef now walked out, grabbing Yvette's right arm to pull her away. "Well I kinda thought you'd all vote for her, since she almost got you all killed." Chris replied noncholantly, not caring at all.
"You do that to us on a daily basis! You don't see us shoving you in that cannon!" Amber shot back, marching up to Chris now.
"It's okay Amber." Yvette told her, pulling away from Chef and pulling out the second Chris immunity idol. "I may have already been prepared for this outcome. So I'm safe from elimination now." Yvette told her, showing it to everyone.
Chris walked up to Yvette and examined it, just a tad bit annoyed now. "Where did you find this idol?" Chris asked her, hoping she wouldn't remember.
Yvette didn't miss a beat with the question though, already prepared to answer. "It was located in the storage room." she answered quickly, annoying Chris further as he took it from her.
"So you found the other one it seems. Well too bad it doesn't count! Chef, load her up!" Chris ordered Chef as he chucked the statue into the water, while Chef handed Yvette a parachute and pulled her over to the cannon.
Max blew a raspberry at Yvette as she was put into the cannon, while Raphael, Katniss, and Amber hurried over. "Don't worry Yvette, I'll make sure my lawyers compensate you for this wrongful termination! Take care!" Amber waved goodbye to her, the other two doing the same.
Yvette waved back at them once, closing her eyes and bracing herself for the blast. She didn't give Alex, Max, or Chris the satisfaction of any last words, just letting Chris press the button to fire the cannon and send her flying off into the distance. "Well that's about how I imagined her going out! The rest of you go get some rest! You've had two challenges today, so I'll give you guys a day off tomorrow." Chris told them all, shooing them away.
The five remaining contestants all moseyed on back to their rooms, although Alex decided to the night in the hangout room instead. Once they were gone, Chris looked to the camera with his signature smile, while Chef walked out of frame.
"Five contestants left, who will go down next? Can Max or Alex slip through another elimination ceremony? What will I do with my extra money? Can Amber ever stop getting hurt? Find out next time, on Total, Drama, Revenge of the Cruise Ship!"

I bet no one saw this coming, totally, no one at all. Not predictable in the slightest. Who could have seen it coming? Okay, it was pretty obvious Yvette was going this episode. Although I think I wrapped up her storyline nicely. In the end, she never was evil. Just a really passionate fan. Her passion got the better of her finally, so now she's gone, but I think I wrote her well. She realized there was more to Total Drama than just the money and winning, albeit a bit too late. I can't say for certain if she'll be in another season, she's in a similar situation to Scarlett in that Chris wouldn't want to bring them back. Be sure to have a good day as always! Let me know what you guys thought of this episode and be sure to leave a review, the feedback helps plenty upon plenty!
Another thing, since we're nearing the end of the season, you're all probably wondering what's going to happen with the next season with this cast. In order to prevent something like Total Drama Action from happening where the season is just lackluster compared to the first, I'll be taking a small break from this cast just so they don't get stale. For the next season, I'll be using canon characters in a setting that I haven't decided yet. I have some themes I've come up with, but I want you guys to decide what you would most like to see! Just leave it somewhere it in your review, that'd make it easy. If you've got any ideas to go along with themes, be sure to let me know too. These fics are for you all to enjoy, so I want to make sure I deliver!
Total Drama Firsts: Chris brings back the finalists and first boots of every season to a snowy ski lodge somewhere in Alberta, Canada in an attempt to bring Total Drama back to the limelight! Three teams, 19 contestants, what kind of crazy hijinks will ensue?
Total Drama Tour Encore: After plenty of time away, Chris brings back Total Drama and the jumbo jet with a near all star cast featuring the best contestants who didn't quite make it to Total Drama All Stars for another trip around the world!
Total Drama Ultimate: Everyone is here! Every single Total Drama Contestant from the past is brought back for the biggest season yet, with two contestants eliminated in every episode! 4 teams, all back on a Wawanakwa yanked from the sea!
Just let me know which one you guys like, and feel free to PM me if you have even more ideas on what could happen in these three!
I ran out of funny stuff to say, the budget for this review punchline was stolen by Chris.
Attackin2: As we saw, Yvette was never really evil, just a big fan. Since her audition tape was just an imitation of Scarlett's one would assume she's a bit deranged, but if it wasn't for her connection to people like Richard, she probably would have gone off the rails. Marty was a good call for the finale, being an all rounder with plenty of plot behind him, but that just felt too predictable. But you were right about Yvette being eliminated, just like pretty much everyone else here lol.
Alexneushoorn: Well the island is back under control, kinda. Raphael didn't seem like the type to lounge around in the hangout room yeah, so I just had him barely use it. Well now Yvette is gone, although I'd imagine the title made it obvious this time again. This next aftermath will for sure be juicy, so look forward to that!
MatiasND aka 'a: Yep, that's what Yvette was going for I'd imagine. Every episode Max survives just feels like a surprise at this point, he just keeps wiggling through. Thanks for the review!
NightwolfGamer3: I'll think about it, and if I can work Wolfy into another season.
Nobody245: Well some of history repeated itself, but no double elimination this time around! Raphael has really been catching the eyes of others lately, which is cool to see. Compared to the other males left, he's practically a saint. Max surviving is probably a shock to many, although he came super close to going this episode. I was going to have him go originally, but it would have led to pretty predictable elimination pattern from then on with Alex and Raphael going down thanks to the girls. I changed my mind a Wolfy a bit after rethinking some things, and you're right that she shouldn't be completely omitted. She'll still be a part of this cast and probably relevant too, since she still placed 8th.
Jessthedork: Well that optimism is nice to see! Marty has a lot going for him in his next seasons, plenty of unfinished business to go. I'll likely keep up the tradition of no double winners, although I won't guarantee too much. Understandable that life has gotten you down though, I've got finals this week as of writing, so it's all a lot to deal with. Hang in there!
GirlPower54: The title was meant to throw people off yeah, here it was the opposite. Just a reference to a really good Adam Haydel video, which I sort of took notes on when it came to Yvette's portrayal here. Wolfy will be in the Aftermath though, and Laurie will probaby be back too. Lots of peeps to go over, so look forward to it! You did call one of the girls going, so good on you there, although it was more because of Chris than the guys working together. Alex for sure has potential like I said as the first villain in this cast, if you don't count Tristan who was more of an annoyance if anything. See you next time!
AnnoyingAlarmClock: Katniss kinda exposed the alliance a bit earlier than anticipated, but it's all fallen apart now that they're outnumbered. Amber getting fired seemed a bit outlandish, and Chris is too lazy to get all that set up, so he just slapped someone else's challenge on her. But yeah, like most, you called Yvette going. The big brain players never win, unless you count Cameron, or Heather... or Alejandro... okay never mind. Thanks for reviewing!
