Luz woke up to the sound of her scroll ringing. She picked it up and answered it.
"Hello?" Luz asked, not even half awake.
"Luz, it's almost ten. Where are you?"
It was Boscha. Luz remembered the message she got last night about her wanting to talk.
"After having, perhaps, my biggest secret revealed and fighting a giant gooey monster; I think I've earned a little sleep."
"Amity's here. She said she'll give you a big kiss if you get here within the thirty minutes."
"I'm on my way!"
Luz got ready faster than anyone's every seen and ran out the door. She made it to Boscha's Treasure Shack and ran inside.
"I'm... here. Oh, I'm out of breath." Luz said.
Luz felt her hoodie collar get grabbed and pulled into a large kiss. The witch with mint green hair let her go and smiled at her.
"How's my fearless champion?" Amity asked.
"Tired." She looked around and saw Willow, Gus, and Skara, "This is an interrogation, isn't it?"
"Yep." Boscha said, "Gus, you're on."
Gus ran up to Luz and rapid fired questions.
"What's it like being part human? Have you ever been to the Human Realm? Which of your parents is human? Can we meet them?!"
"Uhm, my magic won't work on occasion. Yes. My mother. No."
"Gus, stop interrogating her." Amity said, "The other's most likely have questions as well."
"So, what's the Human Realm like?" Skara asked.
"Different, to say the least. Instead of trees being red, they're green. There are these things called cars, they're... hard to explain, there this human traveling machine. Worst of all, there is no magic."
"What? How do humans live without magic?" Boscha asked, "If we went to the human world, then does that mean that we aren't able to use our magic?"
"Well our magic still works. It's more like humans are unable to perform magic, at least like us."
"So, do you have any family in the Human Realm?" Willow asked.
"I have my uncle, who I haven't seen him since I was eight, and his wife and daughter. It was the last time I was in the Human Realm to be honest. Remember when I said that I had a family emergency and was gone for a week?"
Everyone nods their heads. It wasn't hard to forget, the little ball of sunshine that Luz was left for a few weeks.
"Well, that emergency was my grandfather's funeral. I haven't been to the Human Realm since then and my dad no longer can open a portal to the Human Realm." Luz said, "Can we stop with the questions before I start crying?"
Boscha grabbed Luz by the arm and pulled her to a place the others can hear them.
"Luz, I need your help."
"With what?"
Boscha handed her a note and Luz read it over.
"Oh, this is so cute." Luz said, "I should've known you liked Willow."
"I wanted to tell her last night, but then the fight started and... well, you know."
"Why not just give her the note?"
"I... I'm scared."
"Well, Amity was like that when we went on our first date. I thought her little panics were cute and funny. I ended up laughing so hard, that water came out of my nose. Listen all you need to do is take her somewhere she'll love and then give her the note. It couldn't be simpler." Luz said happily.
"I can't tell if your misplaced optimism is from your witch side or your human side." Boscha said.
"I'm pretty sure it's from both."
