Jasper POV

The more I imagine Bella changed, the more I'd like to do it. I could see I had made a big mistake even thinking about leaving my Bella. On top of that, I wouldn't be capable of it anyway. Just imagining leaving her hurt somewhere deep inside. I guessed maybe we both had some problems with self-esteem. Bella wasn't going to stop loving me over one 'slip' as she called it and I would never stop loving her.

I wondered what Bella's newborn year would really be like. Would she be wild and untameable? Would she be thirsty all the time? Would she want me the way she does now? Would she be passionate? Would she want me to make love to her in her newborn year? I tried to imagine it and my pants got a little tighter.

When Bella wakes up I am kissing her neck. One bite and I could change her. She tilts her head to the side, offering her throat to me. I just kiss farther down. My tongue runs over where her neck and shoulder meet. This is where I will mark her as mine someday. Not today. The timing is all wrong. Bella moans as I kiss her shoulder.

"What do you want Bella?" I ask.

"You," she whimpers.

"Do you want me to do this?" I run my hand lightly over her breast.

"Jasper, yes."

"You two cut it out in there," echoes through the door. I guess I was projecting a little. Oh well.

"Char sounds frustrated," Bella commented lightly and the moment is lost.

I kiss her neck one more time and imagine sinking my teeth in, making her like me. She shivers slightly and we get up.

Char and Peter are waiting for us.

"Since your day out was canceled how about you two stay with us for the night? Peter asks.

I look at Jasper and he looks at me, we both nod. "Yes please," Bella says.

I watch Bella around my friends. She really fits in. She'll make a magnificent vampire someday if she chooses to.

After I calmed down I realized how stupid I was to think of leaving her. It made me no better than the Cullens. But Bella snapped me out of it. Even if I could leave, and I don't think I really could, Victoria isn't handled yet. I'd never leave Bella with a threat hanging over her head like that. I was an idiot. I thought she would be disgusted by knowing I drained that man practically in front of her. I won't sell Bella short again. She is an amazing woman human or vampire.

"What are you thinking there, handsome?" Bella asks me.

"Just thinking about you Darlin',"

We went stargazing that night. Neither of us knew a thing about astronomy but it was fun to pick our own shapes out of the sky.

"It's a bird," Bella said

"It's a dog," I argued. "Maybe it's a bird dog but it really looks like a dog from here."

"You're cute, you know that Mr., what is your last name anyway?"

"It's Whitlock. Jasper Adam Whitlock."

"Well Mr. Whitlock, I still say it's a bird."

"If you say so." I submit.

Eventually, Bella started getting cold so we went back inside. Bella had hot chocolate while the rest of us tried not to look revolted at the smell.

Around one AM Bella was tired out and we went to bed. I held her close and breathed in her scent all night. There weren't any nightmares but she did say my name. Apparently my little Bella was having naughty dreams because I could feel her arousal growing by the minute. I just held her a little tighter and had my own naughty 'dreams'. One day I'd have enough control to make them a reality.

Bella woke up around nine the next morning. She went to shower and get ready for the day. I went to see what Char and Peter were up to.

"We need to get Bella home when she's dressed," Peter said. He looked awfully serious.

"What do you know, Peter?"

"I just know that Bella will need ta be at home today. Dunno why and don't got any details for you."

Bella's POV

The shower feels wonderful but instead of enjoying it I'm thinking about the way Jasper's mouth felt on my neck, the way his hand felt ghosting over my breast. I've never felt anything like that before and I hope to feel it again; soon.

I decide to get out of the shower and pull my damp hair back into it's braid. I don't have any other clothes with me so I put on my date outfit from yesterday.

Unfortunately, it's time to go home.

I open the door and Jasper is waiting on me. I see the concern in his eyes and it worries me.

"Peter says you're going to be needed at home today, my mate. He doesn't know any more than that but it's time that we get back to the real world I guess."

"I knew I'd have to go back soon Jasper, even if I'd rather stay here with you."

"I'm sorry our date got ruined, Bella. We'll try again sometime, alright/"

"Of course Jasper. Don't worry about it. I got to sleep beside you and stay with your friends. I like Peter and Char."

"Come on, they'll follow the truck but we need to get you back."

The drive was quiet. Jasper seemed lost in his thoughts and I was focusing on the road. We had to stop a couple of times for gas and that slowed us down. It was on long drives like this that I wished I had a more efficient car rather than my tank-like truck.

Charlie wasn't home when we got there so I just walked up to my room to change out of my date outfit. I came down a few moments later in a tee-shirt and jeans. I didn't know what we were waiting for but while I waited I poured some cereal and had my breakfast.

Jasper, Peter, and Char were all talking in the living room so after my cereal was finished I went in there to join them. They were talking about fights they'd gotten into and I just snuggled up to Jasper and listened. I'd never been in a fight. I didn't even know how to fight. I'd always been the one with a book in hand.

I guessed that after I was a vampire I'd have to get Jasper or one of the others to teach me so I could protect myself in this new world.

I was wondering why it was so important I was home when they were interrupted by the phone ringing.

I went to answer it but it stopped ringing before I got there. Oh well, I thought. They'll call back. I went back to Jasper. That was where I wanted to be anyway.

When the phone rang again I ran to get it and I caught it in time.

"Is this Isabella Swan," a generic female voice asked.

"Yes," I said.

"This is the hospital calling, your father has been in an accident. He's asked for you to come to bring him back home."

"Is he ok?" I asked before she could hang up.

"I'm not allowed to give you any medical information. He is stable and he is waiting for a ride home."

"I'm on my way."

I turned around and Jasper was there. "I have to go get my father. I don't know what's wrong with him."

"It's all right. I heard the entire phone call. I'll ride down there with you and run back."

It was a tense ride to the hospital. I was worried about Charlie and I was also worried about Jasper. There was no way he could go into the hospital with me. He was just too new to being around groups of people to be able to stand a hospital environment.

I walked into the hospital alone. Jasper, Char, and Peter waited outside, listening to see if there was any danger.

"I'm here to see Charlie Swan," I told the receptionist.

"Your name?" she asked.

"Bella Swan."

"He's in room 310. You'll need a visitor's badge."

I took the elevator to the third floor and quickly located Charlie's room.

Walking into Charlie's room I was filled with worry. How bad was it going to be?

"Hey kid," he said when he saw me.

"Hey, Ch-dad." I replied. "What did you go and do to yourself?

"There was a woman standing in the middle of the road. I swerved to miss her and hit a tree."

I hoped Jasper could hear this. Who else would it be but Victoria?

"So what's the damage?"

"Only a minor concussion. I wasn't allowed to go home until they reached someone to come pick me up."

"I'll go tell the nurse I'm here and hopefully we can get you home quickly."

I listened to the doctor give me all the warnings about a concussion. I'd heard it all before, goodness knows I've hit my head enough with no more to fall over than my own two feet. An hour later and Charlie and I were on our way back to the house.

He was off work for the rest of today and tomorrow. I expected he'd have me run him down to LaPush tomorrow though. He never could stay away from the fish.

We got home and I helped him to the couch.

"Are you hungry, Dad?" I asked.

"No, I just think I'm going to turn on the tv. I'll yell if I get hungry."

"I'm going to go get some homework done. Just yell if you need me."

"Sure Bella," he said dismissively.

I ran up to my room, looking for Jasper but I found Peter instead. "The Major's gone out hunting Victoria, now that we might have a scent it'll be much easier for him to catch her."

I just nodded. I half expected it but I didn't know what to say.

"Char and I will be staying with you until he gets back." Peter continued.

"Thank you, Peter," I said a little self-consciously. "I think I'll just go get started on my homework and then make dinner for me and Charlie."

"It'll all be okay little one, don't you worry. The Major is a good fighter. He'll be back to you as quick as he can."

I tried to focus on my homework but eventually, I gave up and went down to prepare dinner. I couldn't stop worrying about Jasper out there somewhere hunting Victoria. I hoped he'd be back quickly. It was hard being without him now. Something had changed in the past few days. I needed him with me. It was more than missing him. My chest hurt when he was gone.
