Chapter 10: The Team Returned to Normal
Infinite launched those energy knives at Tails, but suddenly, a blue blur rushed in and kicked them away from Tails. Tails looked up and saw what appeared to be Sonic.
Tails- Sonic…
Mario (in Sonic's body)- Well…not exactly…
Tails- What the…?
Mario helped Tails stand back up while Bolo approached them.
Bolo- I think I get it. It's still Mario in Sonic's body.
Mario (in Sonic's body)- Yeah. We're still inside the wrong bodies. After all, Hades is the only one who can put us all back since he's the one who swapped us in the first place.
Tails- But why did you…
Mario (in Sonic's body)- We just couldn't let Tabuu's followers continue to harm you. Even if we were the ones who asked up to fill in for us while we were all like this.
Infinite- I guess Hades was right that you'd eventually come. Taking you out should be a snap with you in Sonic's body.
Infinite fired an energy blast at Mario, but Mario used Sonic's speed to dodge real easily and make Infinite lose sight of him.
Infinite- What the?! Where did he…
Suddenly, Infinite was kicked under the chin and knocked into the air. Mario had used the speed of Sonic's body to rush up close to Infinite and strike from his blind spot. Then Mario charged into a spinning ball and used Sonic's spin dash launch himself into the air after Infinite. The next thing Infinite knew, a blue blur was ramming him from all angles, like a bouncing ball smacking him over and over. Infinite looked up and saw Mario kick Infinite in the head to knock him back down to the ground.
Tails- Woah?! Mario…the way you just moved…it was almost like…
Mario (in Sonic's body)- Like Sonic? That's correct. Me and the others have been doing some practicing how to use the others' skills. Sonic's tactics might not be what I'm used to, but I'd say I've gotten the hang of fighting like Sonic.
Meanwhile, Marx still had Shazza wrapped around his tongue and was swinging her into all nearby buildings. But then, a bolt of lightning struck Marx from behind and made him let go of Shazza. But to Shazza's surprise, she was caught bridal style by what appeared to be Shantae.
Shazza- Shantae…?
Ty (in Shantae's body)- Not quite, Shazza.
Shazza- Possum?
Ty (in Shantae's body)- Yeah, we're still mixed up in the wrong bodies.
Shazza- But Ty, why did you come if you're still like this?
Ty (in Shantae's body)- Come on, Shazz! I couldn't just let Marx continue to harm you. Think of what would do to Fang if both parents couldn't see him anymore.
After Ty put Shazza down, Marx spread his wings and fired a bunch of arrows at Ty. But do both Marx and Shazza's surprise, Ty used Shantae's dance moves to dodge them all.
Ty (in Shantae's body)- As you can see, I've been working on me dance move while in this body, mate.
Shazza- Those were some impressive moves, possum.
Ty (in Shantae's body)- It's more Shantae's body that allows me to be so flexible. But the tricky part of figuring out how to move like Shantae.
Shazza- Maybe you'd like to take dancing lessons after you get your body back?
Ty (in Shantae's body)- Uh…maybe I'll pass. Reminds me too much of a bet me and Shantae wish to forget.
Marx lashed his tongue at Ty, but he gracefully danced out of the way with Shantae's dance moves. But before Marx could do anything else, Ty whipped Shantae's hair at Marx and wrapped hit around his wings and body.
Ty (in Shantae's body)- Let's see how you like what you've done to Shazza!
Then Ty smacked Marx into all the nearby buildings with Shantae's hair over and over.
Marx- No! You don't have to…(OWCH)…I didn't mean it…(OWCH)…I was only doing…(OWCH)…MOMMY!
Then Ty reeled Marx in and performed a backwards summersault to kick Marx and knock him into the air. When Marx landed, there was a red glowing mark between his legs and Marx looked like he was fighting back tears in his eyes.
Marx- I know you're mad I hurt your wife…but did you really have to kick in in that spot…I'm gonna need to sit on an iceberg for a week now…
Meanwhile, Pokemon Hunter J and her Poke'mon were literally blown off of Goh and his Poke'mon.
Goh- What the? Was that a Poke'mon move called hurricane? But where did…
Goh, Raboot, Sobble, and Scyther looked behind them and saw what appeared to be Ash riding on the back of Ho-Oh with Pikachu on his shoulder.
Goh- Ash?
Yoshi (in Ash's body)- No. Me still Yoshi. Ash still Kirby, Yoshi afraid.
Poke'mon Hunter J got back on and on the back of her Mega Salamence.
Poke'mon Hunter J- You'll pay for that, you dumbass dinosaur! Salamence, dragon rush!
Mega Salamence surrounded its body in its own dragon energy.
Ho-Oh- Yoshi, you need to issue a commend! Even I won't survive attacks like that if I do nothing!
Yoshi (in Ash's body)- Yoshi know! Ho-Oh, dodge!
Ho-Oh quickly flew upwards and avoided Mega Salamence's dragon rush.
Poke'mon Hunter J- Use dragon rush again and fly after that phoenix!
Mega Salamence (ROAR)
Yoshi looked down and saw Poke'mon Hunter J and Mega Salamence flying up after them.
Pikachu- Pika…
Ho-Oh- What now, Yoshi…?
Yoshi- Yoshi thinking…Yoshi got it! Ho-Oh, use aerial ace circle under meanie hunter's dragon's underbelly.
Just at Mega Salamence was about to attack Ho-Oh with dragon rush, Ho-Oh seemingly vanished.
Poke'mon Hunter J- What?! Where did that Yoshi and that phoenix disappear to?
Suddenly, Ho-Oh struck Mega Salamence from below and in the chest with aerial ace. This surprise attack knocked both Poke'mon Hunter J and Mega Salamence out of the sky and crash into the fountain from earlier. When the smoke cleared, Mega Salamence was still in its Mega Evolution form, but it appeared knocked out. Mega Salamence was also laying on top of Poke'mon Hunter J.
Poke'mon Hunter J- Salamence, get the hell off of me!
Yoshi (in Ash's body)- Did Yoshi do it?
Pikachu- Pi Pikachu!
Ho-Oh turned his head to look at Yoshi.
Ho-Oh- Not bad for a beginner. I think you're starting to get the hang of being a Poke'mon Trainer.
Goh- That was amazing, Yoshi! That actually seemed like something Ash wouldn't done in that situation if he were still in his body.
Meanwhile, Lord Fredrick had trapped Knuckles and Impa in ice from their toes to their neck and was approaching them with two large broadswords made ice. But before Fredrick could swing those two ice swords, Donkey Kong's fist smacked him from the left and knocked Fredrick to the ground. Knuckles and Impa was what appeared to be Donkey Kong.
Impa- DK?
Shantae (in Donkey Kong's body)- No, it's me, Shantae.
Knuckles- Shantae? You must've let yourself go and got all hairy!
Impa- Knuckles, she's still in Donkey Kong's body and you know that! There's no reason to speak like that to her!
Shantae (in Donkey Kong's body)- If we didn't have more important matters on our hand, I would've given you a blackeye for that joke.
Then Shantae used Donkey Kong's strength to shatter the ice incasing Knuckles and Impa without harming them. However, Fredrick got back up and pulled his horn out.
Lord Fredrick- Not exactly Donkey Kong, but I suppose this will be the closest I'll get with your bodies swapped.
Lord Fredrick blew his horn and a bunch of ice boulders were launched from horn. But then Shantae used Donkey Kong's fists to smash the ice boulders into snowflakes before they could hit her. Fredrick was surprised at first, but then he pulled out those ice swords again and tried to rush Shantae. Shantae quickly grabbed Fredrick by the wrist as he swung one of those ice swords and stopped his motions stone cold in his tracks (no pun intended). Then Shantae rammed Donkey Kong's head into Fredrick's head and made his back up a bit. But while Lord Fredrick stunned a bit, Shantae quickly pummeled Lord Fredrick with several of Donkey Kong's Monkey Punch and knocked Fredrick into a building.
Shantae (in Donkey Kong's body)- I'll admit, Donkey Kong's style is the complete opposite of mine, but if I'm going be in DK's body, I'll be willing to learn how to adapt. (Mutters)…especially since I can't dance in DK's body…
In the skies above, Diddy Kong and Sky were trapped in a sphere created by Zero2 that was rapidly getting smaller and smaller. Suddenly, Kirby's Warp Star rammed into the back of Zero2's head. The sphere made of Zero2's energy shattered and Diddy, Sky, and Wrench were freed. What appeared to be Kirby on his Warp Star flew up to them.
Diddy Kong- Kirby?
Ash (in Kirby's body)- Sorry, it's me, Ash.
Sky- I thought so as much. After all, Hades is the only one who can change you back.
Zero2 launched a few energy blasts at Ash, but Ash used Kirby's inhale to suck them all up. Then Ash spat Zero2's attack right back at him. Zero2 blocked with one of his wings, but he was knocked back a bit from the explosion of the attack.
Ash (in Kirby's body)- I've had some work with Kirby's powers while hiding in Smash City.
Diddy Kong- We do have one problem. Zero's weakness is that eye of his, but he's got a barrier to block projectiles by Tabuu.
Sky- We can't seem to make any progress at this rate.
Ash (in Kirby's body)- Like thinking of a strategy against other trainer's Poke'mon…
Then Ash pulls a feather off of Wrench.
Sky- Why did you…
Ash (In Kirby's body)- Trust me, I have a plan.
Then Ash charged Kirby's Warp Star at Zero2. Zero2 fired an energy beam from his eye and made an explosion when it hit the Warp Star. But before the smoke cleared, something struck Zero2's eye in the lower area. When Zero2 looked downward, he saw what looked like feathers as sharp as knives piercing the lower area of his eye. Then Zero2 looked more upward and saw Ash had turned Kirby's body into Winged Kirby after inhaling the feather he plucked from Wrench.
Ash (in Winged Kirby's body)- Looks like my outside the box thinking can still work even if I'm not fighting like a Poke'mon Trainer! Made you look, Zero!
Zero2 almost fell out of the sky, but barely managed to stop himself from crashing to the ground. Zero2 then glared at Ash with rage, even though he knew that it was Ash in Winged Kirby's body and not Kirby. At the same time, Dark Pit was doing his best dodge Star Dream's energy blasts. But before Star Dream could attack Dark Pit again, what appeared to be Pit flew in and kicked Star Dream in the face, knocking him to the ground surprisingly. What appeared to be Pit landed near where Dark Pit was standing.
Dark Pit- I see you picked up a play from my book instead of Pit's, Kirby.
Kirby (in Pit's body)- Still recognize I'm in Pit's body?
Dark Pit- You said Hades was the only one who can undo this mess. And we haven't found where in this scrap Hades is hiding and watching this chaos unfold in the Mushroom Kingdom. Besides, Pit isn't fond of kicking bosses in the face while I am.
Palutena (telepathically to Kirby)- Yeah. One time, Pit was infiltrating Medusa's palace and Dark Pit kicked the boss guarding it in the face when Pit wouldn't.
Viridi (telepathically to Kirby)- But you're still trapped in Pit's body! Why come back now when we haven't gotten Hades yet?
Star Dream got back up tried fire a few energy shots at Kirby. Kirby dodged them and countered with a few arrows to Star Dream's face. The arrows knocked Star Dream back a bit.
Palutena (telepathically to Viridi)- As you can see, Kirby and the other heroes have been working on improving their current situation.
Kirby (in Pit's body)- Not like Pit, but I'm working on it. POYO!
Dark Pit- POYO?
Kirby (in Pit's body)- Sorry, force of habit.
Viridi (telepathically to Kirby)- Still prefer you in your own body, Kirby, but not bad that you've also figured out how to fight like Pit and so soon.
Meanwhile, Super Shadow was trapped inside of what appeared to be a cage made of electricity instead of bars that was created by Sir Grodus.
Sir Grodus- No use trying to warp out of that! With Master Tabuu's power thrown into the mix, it will stop you from using that Chaos Control move to escape.
While Grodus was taunting Super Shadow, he didn't notice what appeared to be Link jump behind him and strike his cybernetics on his head from behind with the Master Sword. This caused Grodus to momentarily malfunction and the electric cage around Super Shadow vanished.
Super Shadow- What the? Link?
Luigi (in Link's body)- Sorry, but a different man in green.
Super Shadow- I see that now.
Sir Grodus- You ****ing idiot! You know how long it took me to fix my systems after Hades sprayed me with that fire extinguisher…TWINCE! This is a very delicate machine I have on my head and I don't need it being wrecked again by you!
Sir Grodus launched a bolt of lighting at Luigi, but Luigi knocked it away with Link's Master Sword.
Luigi (in Link's body)- A little clumsy, but I'm getting the hang of fighting like a Hylian swordsman.
Luigi swung the Master Sword at Grodus, but Grodus blocked with his staff. But Grodus was still knocked back a bit after Master Sword and staff collided. Also, the electrical sphere at the tip of his staff was now broken.
Sir Grodus- This is getting annoying!
Sir Grodus was still able to launch his lightning attacks from his staff, but less focused and contracted, but Link and Super Shadow dodged.
Luigi (in Link's body)- It I can just get above Grodus…
Then Super Shadow grabbed hold of Luigi.
Super Shadow- Allow me. CHAOS CONTROL!
Then Luigi and Super Shadow vanished under a flash of green light and reappeared directly above where Sir Grodus was standing. Super Shadow let go of Luigi and Luigi performed a downward stab (like in Zelda 2 or Smash) with the Master Sword and managed to drive the Master Sword through the top part of Sir Grodus' mechanical head. Sir Grodus began to malfunction and was struggling to control his systems. Luigi quickly pulled the Master Sword out of Grodus' head and jumped off before electrical sparks erupted from his head.
Luigi (in Link's body)- Like I said, more clumsy than how Link does it, but I'm getting the hang of it!
At the same time, Aryll was knocked to the ground from one of Vaati's magic attacks. Then Vaati drew a large sword and approached Aryll before she could get back up.
Vaati- I only wish it was your brother. But this will do for now…
Vaati was about to swing that sword at Aryll, but two boomerangs were thrown. The first knocked the sword out of Vaati's hand and the second hit Vaati in the face and knocked him to the ground. Then Aryll saw a Tasmanian tiger paw offer to help her get back up. When she looked up, she saw what appeared to be Ty.
Aryll- Big brother…
Link (in Ty's body)- Good to know you still recognize me like this.
Aryll- You're my big brother, Link. But I'm surprised you returned while still in Ty's body.
Link (in Ty's body)- I wasn't going to let Vaati take your head…or worse…
Vaati- So the big brother arrived to protect his sister. How touching. Only you don't have the Master Sword this time and you're stuck in the Tasmanian tiger's body. How do you expect to beat me this time?
Link (in Ty's body)- I don't need to fight like a swordsman to beat you…
Then a boomerang was making it's return trip and wacked Vaati from behind in the back of the head before Link caught it.
Link (in Ty's body)- I just need to fight like a Tasmanian tiger this time.
Then Link kicked Vaati in the face and knocked him to the ground.
Link (in Ty's body)- And that was for trying to hurt my sister!
Meanwhile, Sly and Bandana Dee were struggling to hold the Quinking's foot from crushing them like ants. However, a rolling Yoshi egg rammed into the Quinking's face and knocked him to the ground and off of Sly and Bandana Dee. The Yoshi egg stopped rolling and what appeared to be Yoshi came out of it.
Bandana Dee- Yoshi?
Pit (in Yoshi's body)- Sadly, no. It's Pit and still trapped inside of Yoshi.
Bandana Dee- You still came back even though you're all still mixed up?
Sly- Maybe it's a good thing he did. You and I probably would've become pancakes if he hadn't.
The Quinking got back up and spat out a stream of fire at Pit. Pit jumped over the fire and used Yoshi's flutter jumps to jump over the Quinking.
Pit (in Yoshi's body)- How does Yoshi say it…Boing…POW!
Then Pit does a ground pound like how Yoshi does and lands on the Quinking's tail.
Quinking- OWCH! Why you little…
The Quinking swung his tail upwards, but Pit jumped off before the tail began to rise. Then the Quinking hit himself in the face with his own tail.
Pit (in Yoshi's body)- Unfortunately for you, I've been practicing with Yoshi's moves.
Meanwhile, Fawful's headgear had coiled around Wario and Waluigi like a snake. While they were struggling to get out, Fawful pointed a laser gun at them.
Fawful- HAHAHAHA! I have fury!
Fawful fired at Wario and Waluigi, but the laser was blocked by a launched fireball. However, the fireball looked brown for some reason. Then what appeared to be Fire Luigi jumped on the top of Fawful's headgear and shot fireballs at it to make it let go of Wario and Waluigi. However, the fireballs appeared blue for some reason. The headgear returned to Fawful and attached itself to the top of Fawful's head. Then what appeared like Fire Mario appeared as well, but the fire in his hands looked brown instead of red.
Waluigi- Mario…Luigi…
Sonic (in Fire Luigi's body)- Of course not.
Donkey Kong (in Fire Mario's body)- We're still mixed up until we can get Hades to undo what he did.
Fawful- Odd? Big ape in red mustache body and blue hedgehog in green mustache body, yet their fireballs are brown and blue instead of red and green?
Sonic (in Fire Luigi's body)- Must have something to do with the color of our souls, since that's what Hades took out of us before putting them into another body. But it doesn't matter, because you're still getting your ass kicked!
Fawful- HAHAHAHAHA! You think you beat Fawful when stuck in wrong body? When hedgehog have no super speed or gorilla with no super strength?
Donkey Kong (in Fire Mario's body)- We've learned to improvise.
Then Donkey Kong and Sonic both jumped into the air and knocked Fawful back further with a combined jump attack.
Fawful- Fawful getting annoyed!
Fawful's headgear opened its mouth and lunged at Donkey Kong. But Donkey Kong dodged by jumping and shot a fireball into its mouth before it closed. The headgear became overheated and too hot for Fawful to keep on his head. But as soon as Fawful took off his headgear, Sonic got in close and hit Fawful in the chest with a perfectly timed Super Jump Punch that knocked Fawful into a building.
(At a dark alley close by)
Hades was still hiding in an alleyway due to still being low on power, but he was keeping a close watch from a distance.
Hades- Shit! This is bad! Somehow, Mario and the others have figured out how to fight like the other members of the team and are starting to turn things around! Tabuu will hold me responsible if this doesn't work! But I know how to fix this! I'll just rip their souls out and mix their bodies up all over again! I think Pitty Pat in Shantae's body this time would bring some laughs.
Hades began to cast the Art of Body Switching spell again, when a portal to another dimension opened behind him. Before Hades even noticed it, strings that looked like puppet strings made out of a light blue energy lashed out and attached themselves to Hades' limbs, making Hades look like a marionette.
Hades- What the?! What's happening?! Someone's…trying to control my body…must…resist…
As Hades tried to resist, a red spiritual sphere exited the portal and entered Hades mind.
(Inside Hades' mind)
Hades was suddenly punched in the face and knocked to the ground. As Hades was pulling himself together, he spat out a tooth that got knocked out from that blow to the face. Hades looked around and saw he was in a darkened area, but there was a figure barely visible in the dark. Hades could make out that this figure had a mustache that matched Mario's and was wearing red. However, there was a unique sword sheathed and strapped to his left hip.
Hades- Hold on…you're…but you should be long gone! Your time is over!
Mysterious figure- Even after death…my fight with Tabuu is far from finish…
Hades managed to stand to his feet and tried his best to not be intimidated by this person, even though Hades knew his powers were too drained to fight anyone.
Hades- I'll admit, you're just as strong as Tabuu said you were after feeling that right hook to my face…and I also know about that sword you carry and how it's capable of harming Tabuu at his full power and even able to kill him…but you don't scare me!
The mysterious figure that looked like Mario drew his sword and pointed it at Hades.
Hades- I mean it! Back off! I'm not afraid of one ancient hero who tried to confront me in my own mind by himself!
Then another figure hiding most of his features in the dark appeared behind Hades. This one appeared to be wearing a white angel robe and had a set of angel wings that resembled Pit's. This angel held two daggers that make up the Palutena's Bow when put together and held them at Hades' neck in a scissors fashion.
Mysterious figure- Who said he came alone, Hades…
Hades- Pitty Pat…? But that can't…you're not Pitty Pat! You're that other angel I heard about that served Palutena before Pit…
Then Hades looked around more figures appear from the darkness. Most of their features were still covered by the darkness but there were some noticeable features that could be noticed. One was a very large gorilla that was twice the size on Donkey Kong. Another was a man who was wearing the pelt of a wolf over most of his body. Another appeared to be a round being like Kirby, except this one was wearing a bow on one side of her head. Another appeared to be dressed like a young prince, but he had a Pikachu on one of his shoulders. Another was a hedgehog with fur as white as snow and a cyan blue scarf around his neck. Another was a Tasmanian tiger with gray fur and large boomerang as big as his body on his back. Another was Yoshi that appeared to be a bit larger than the Yoshi we all know and love. And the last to appear was a man that was dressed similarly to the man in red with the sword, but his mustache resembled Luigi's, his outfit was green, and this one didn't appear to have a sword.
Hades- Well…look who all came into my little mind…but I warn you now, if you kill me, then Mario and the others will remain in the wrong bodies forever!
Mysterious figure that looked like Sonic- Who said anything about fighting you?
Mysterious figure that looked like Ash- Or have you noticed that one of us isn't in your mind with the rest of us.
Mysterious figure that looked like Kirby- She's the one who put those strings to your body and is currently controlling it.
Mysterious figure in the wolf's pelt- And using it to undo the mess your body switching spell has made.
Mysterious figure that looked like Mario- So we don't need to harm you…just keep you from resisting her magic from controlling your body like a puppet. Azra, everything is a-go!
Mysterious voice- I'm on it, Marco!
Hades- That voice…it sounded a lot like…Hey?! What's going on…?!
(Back in the Mushroom Kingdom)
Hades' body appeared to be empty at first, but then the magic strings attached to his body began to make Hades move again. With that, his body began to cast the Art of Body Switching on the Super Mario Brothers' Team again.
Mario (in Sonic's body)- Huh…? What the…why is my body…
Then a light came out of Sonic's body. A light came out of the other members of the team as well. Similar to what happened at the beginning of story. However, this time, each soul was placed in a different body than when Hades cast this spell.
Mario- That was strange. I feel different again, but in a good way…
It took Mario a moment or two, but he figured out what happened.
Fire Mario- I…I can't believe it! I'm back in my correct body! Luigi, are you back to normal too?
Fire Luigi- Huh…hey! I'm not wielding Link's Master Sword! I'm back to my old self, bro!
Wario- Huh…? You're saying you're not Sonic and Donkey Kong anymore?
Fire Mario- Nope. We're Mario and Luigi once again!
Fawful- Fawful hear correctly…but how…only Hades could undo body switching spell…
Fire Mario- You heard correct, Fawful!
Fire Luigi- The Super Mario Brothers are back!
Fire Mario- And I say we end this is a play from Marco and Loewy's book.
Then Fire Mario and Fire Luigi shot a fully charged fireball and launched it at Fawful. However, the two fireballs merged into one swirling red and green fireball that did twice the damage at least when it hit Fawful.
Meanwhile, Sonic was realizing what had happened to him as well.
Sonic- Is this…
Tails- S-S-Sonic…?
Sonic- Yes Tails, it really is me in this body!
Tails quickly hugged Sonic and began to cry.
Tails- Sonic, I'm glad to have the real you back!
Sonic- Take it easy, Tails. I didn't really go anywhere. I was just stuck in Luigi's body for a time. But it does feel good to be back where I belong.
Bolo- Hang on…you're telling me that you're back in your correct body? How? We didn't get Hades to reverse his spell.
Sonic- Who cares? I'm back where I belong!
Infinite- Sonic is…Hades has got a lot of explaining to do after this is over…
Infinite launched a few of those red cubes from the Phantom Ruby at Sonic, but Sonic quickly avoided them. Then Sonic appeared next to Infinite and grabbed him by the neck.
Sonic- Hey Infinite, let's see if this pain you're about to feel one of your illusions…
Then Sonic kicked Infinite into the air and began charging for his light speed attack.
Sonic- Ready…GOOOOO!
Then Sonic dashed off and rammed Infinite over and over before knocking Infinite into statue that looked like a Rabbid version of Princess Peach.
Sonic- Oh yeah! It feels good to be me again!
Meanwhile, Ash was realizing things were different.
Ash- What the…what just…
Ash felt the familiar feeling at a small creature standing on his shoulder. Ash turned to look and saw none other than Pikachu.
Pikachu- Pi…Pika Pi…?
Ash- Pikachu…?
Ash looked down and saw he was riding on the back of a very large of some kind.
Ho-Oh- Well now…allow me to be the first to welcome you back to your correct body…Master Ash!
Ash- Ho-Oh…Yes, I'm back in my correct body!
Goh- Ash…is that really you and not Yoshi?
Ash- It sure is, Goh!
Poke'mon Hunter J- How is this possible? I never saw Hades cast that body switching spell again…
Ash- Doesn't matter, because I'm sending you back to Subspace on a wheelchair, J! Pikachu, thunderbolt!
Pikachu- Pika…CHUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Pikachu's thunderbolt hit Poke'mon Hunter J's Drapion and knocked it out instantly. Before J could react to it, she and Mega Salamence were shocked by the move thunderbolt as well, but it wasn't Pikachu that used it.
Ash- Ho-Oh…I didn't know you could use thunderbolt as well.
Ho-Oh- Master Calmly thought me that move after he first met Marco and Loewy. Funny that a trainer taught a legendary Poke'mon how to use a Poke'mon move.
Ash- This gives me an idea!
Then Ash puts an electric Z-Crystal into his Z-Ring and began performing a pose for a Z-move.
Ash- Ho-Oh, electric type Z-Move! Giga-Volt Havoc!
Then Ho-Oh launched a blast of electricity at both Poke'mon Hunter J and her Mega Salamence which knocked them both out and reverted Mega Salamence back to its original form. At the same time, Link was feeling different too.
Link- What's this? The Master Sword in my hands and not Ty's boomerangs? Does this mean…
Super Shadow- Looks like you're back to your rightful body.
Link- Indeed, I am.
Sir Grodus- What's going on here?! Hades said only he could put them back in their correct bodies!
Link- Regardless, I'm back to normal. And I guess I should show you what a real swordsman can do with the Master Sword!
Link struck at Grodus with a sword beam and sliced open the cybernetics on Grodus' head.
Link- See that. I did more than Luigi did with my sword. But boy, did I miss the Master Sword!
Meanwhile, Yoshi was feeling different.
Yoshi- What the…Yoshi feel…like Yoshi again…?
Yoshi looked at his body and recognized it as his own instead of Ash's.
Yoshi- Yoshi back to Yoshi!
Sly- What's he saying?
Bandana Dee- I think he's saying that He's Yoshi back in Yoshi's body instead of Pit in Yoshi's body.
Yoshi- Yep! Yoshi back to Yoshi!
Quinking- Yoshi back to Yoshi? This doesn't make sense. How can you be back in your body if Hades is the only one who can put you back?
Then Yoshi wrapped his tongue around the Quinking and actually swallowed him whole. Then Yoshi laid a large giant egg bomb before tossing it into the sky and having it explode with the Quinking inside of it and causing the Quinking to crash back to the ground.
Yoshi- Yoshi missed being Yoshi a lot!
Meanwhile, Donkey Kong was feeling more like his old self.
Donkey Kong- That's odd…I'm feeling like I've grown and have all my strength back. It's as if I'm…
Donkey Kong then looked at his body and realized the truth.
Donkey Kong- I'm back in my original body again!
Knuckles- Uh…what now, Shantae?
Donkey Kong- I'm not Shantae. I'm Donkey Kong! And I've returned to my correct body!
Impa- If you're returned to normal, that must mean the rest are as well and Hades' spell has been undone.
Lord Fredrick- Genie in Donkey Kong's body or DK back in his own body, it makes no difference. I'll stomp you into snow dust.
Lord Fredrick blew on his horn again and made a bunch of ice boulders launch at Donkey Kong from the horn. Donkey Kong dodged most of them, but unknown to Fredrick, Donkey Kong caught one of those ice boulders. Fredrick was about to blow on his horn again, but Donkey Kong threw the ice boulder he caught into the horn, clogging it. Before Fredrick could try and get the ice boulder out, Donkey Kong got up close and hit Fredrick in the face with his Monkey Punch. After Donkey Kong knocked out Fredrick, Donkey Kong then kissed his muscles.
Donkey Kong- I really missed you guys! Glad I got my strength back.
Meanwhile, Ty was slowly coming to over what happened.
Ty- Huh…Me boomerangs? Me orange fur? Me Tasmanian tiger body? I can't believe it! I'm me again!
Aryll- Ty? You're back? I guess that means my big brother is back in his body too.
Ty- Possibly, shela.
Vaati- What the?! The Tasmanian tiger? Not Link? Oh shit! This isn't fair! And I still haven't gotten my revenge on Link! But how did you even return to your body? Hades was the only one who could've done that.
Ty- Doesn't matter, mate. I'm me again and that's that!
Vaati tried to punch Ty, but Ty caught Vaati's fist. Then Ty punched Vaati in the face and stunned him for a bit. Then Ty kicked Vaati into the air before pulling out his boomerangs.
Ty- Let's see if I still have me boomerang skills.
Then Ty tossed his boomerangs and they both smacked Vaati in the face. Then Ty turned on the Sacred Bunyip power inside of him before shooting a beam at Vaati and knocked him into a nearby pond.
Ty- But if I'm here, that must mean Shantae is with Shazza fighting Marx. Hope Shazza is still ok.
Meanwhile, Shantae was collecting herself.
Shantae- Weird. I feel small and light again. No huge bulky body and I feel like my body is flexible again.
Then Shantae looked at her body and realized what had happened.
Shantae- What's this?! I'm back in my body?
Shazza- You're saying your Shantae again? Then I wonder if Ty's back to normal too.
Shantae- Hope so. Then we can put this body switching mess behind us.
Marx- Huh? Shantae is back in her own body? Forget this!
Marx turned around and began moving away.
Shantae- Hey, where are you going?
Marx- I think I'd rather face my consequences from Tabuu than continue fighting this pointless battle. Besides, if I get knocked out, Jayx will probably use it as an opportunity to enter my dreams again.
Shantae- Who's Jayx?
Marx- Someone who refuses to leave me alone and is preventing me from getting decent sleep…(yawn)…
After Marx left, Shantae and Shazza looked at each other in confusion.
Shazza- That was weird.
Shantae- I know.
Meanwhile, Kirby was feeling different then a moment ago.
Kirby- Hey…I feel…feel small again. Did Pit's body shrink?
Kirby looked at his body and realized something.
Winged Kirby- Pit's body didn't shrink…I'm back in my body! POYO!
Sky- Kirby…is that really you?
Winged Kirby- It appears so. I'm in my body again and not in Pit's.
Diddy Kong- Uh…Kirby…Zero's back up…
Winged Kirby looked over and saw Zero2 glaring at him. Then Zero2 shot a beam of energy from his eye. Winged Kirby managed to dodge Zero2's attack and attempted to ram into Zero2's eye. However, Zero2 tried to block with that energy barrier again. But then Winged Kirby began to spin, turning the ramming attack into a drill attack and managed to drill right through Zero2's barrier and strike the eye. This caused Zero2 to fall out of the sky and crash onto the ground.
Winged Kirby- Feels good being myself again.
Diddy Kong- What that…Mario and Luigi's house that giant eyeball landed on?
Winged Kirby- Uh…Guess I got some explaining to do for Mario and Luigi…
Meanwhile, Pit was feeling himself coming together.
Pit- This feels weird. I'm not gonna be in a ring again, am I?
Then Pit looked at his body and realized something.
Pit- I'm in by body again! WOOHOO! I'm back in the game!
Dark Pit- You and the others are back to normal then?
Pit- Yes, Pittoo! We're all back to normal!
Dark Pit- I think I liked it better Kirby was in your body. At least he didn't call me that. And how many times to I have to tell you not to call me Pittoo?!
Star Dream- Analysis complete. All members of the Super Mario Brothers' Team have returned to their original bodies. Error. Hades is the only one who could've reversed it, but why undo when Hades went to such great lengths to switch their bodies to begin with? Does not compute!
Palutena (telepathically to Pit)- Pit, I know you just returned to your body…
Viridi (telepathically to Pit)- Wouldn't be the first time…
Palutena (telepathically to Pit)- Anyways…this might be your time to attack Star Dream while he's still trying to process the situation.
Pit- Hey Pittoo, I think I have an idea!
Dark Pit- Stop calling me that!
Pit- Anyway, I think we might be able to combine out shots similar to how Mario and Luigi learned to combine their fireballs.
Dark Pit- Worth a try.
Then Pit and Dark Pit each shot a light arrow at the same time and managed to merge them into one large light arrow that managed to shoot right through Star Dream's frame and through its eye. This caused Star Dream to fall out of the sky.
Dark Pit- Interesting trick there.
Pit- It was something I saw Mario and Luigi do.
Viridi (telepathically to Pit)- Actually, it was Marco and Loewy, the original Super Mario Brothers, who came up with that combined fireball trick. Mario and Luigi picked it up after having dreams about Marco and Loewy like how you had dreams about Icarus.
Soon after, all of Tabuu's followers were pulled back into Subspace by a black vortex that opened up underneath them after they were all defeated.
Mario- Finally, we returned to our old selves.
Luigi- But still, how did we even return back to normal?
Then Hades collapsed to the ground from behind a dark alley.
Pit- Hades…?
Hades looked like he had been beaten in the face relentlessly and several lumps and bruises on his face. But then ten souls exited out of Hades' body. Each one a different color. But the soul that had a bright red glow to it caught Mario's attention for some reason. The souls quickly vanished just as quickly as they appeared. Hades managed to raise his head just a bit above the ground.
Hades- Damn you…Marco…
Mario- Marco?! Is he referring to our ancestor?
Before Mario could ask Hades anything, a black vortex opened underneath him and pulled him back to Subspace like the rest of Tabuu's followers.
Mario- Marco Mario…was that really you just now…?
While Mario was thinking, Shantae noticed a piece of magic string on the ground.
Shantae- What's this…this is…genie magic…and so familiar to me…was it…mother…?
(Later at Toad Town)
Mario and the rest of the team were helping Princess Peach and the Toads repair the damage done during that fight against Tabuu's followers.
Princess Peach- I am happy you and your friends want to help, but are you sure you want to be put to work after you've just returned to your correct bodies?
Mario- We're fine, princess. In fact, we're all eager to get out and move because we're back in our correct bodies.
Princess Peach- Very well.
Just as Mario was about to get to work, Mario looked up at the sky and saw a cloud. For a moment, he visualized it as Marco Mario's face.
Mario- Marco…was that really you who helped us? If it was…thank you. I still remember the promise I made before we returned you and Loewy back to the past…that I would one day put a permanent stop to Tabuu's evil…but…I don't yet know how since he's a god…but I will figure it out some day.

Epilogue-
(Tabuu's palace in Subspace)
Tabuu had grabbed Hades by the neck and pulled him to his face.
Tabuu- Well, it looks like your little body switching scheme turned out to be a complete waist of time. Mario and the others are back in their bodies after you tried to mix them up and a blast from the past came and seriously kicked your ass.
Hades- Hey…they kicked your ass all those years ago…
Tabuu- Don't remind me…
Hades- Also…this wasn't a complete waste…
Tabuu- Oh really?
Hades- Yes…you see…right before he left my mind…I was actually able to read a thought from his mind…I know who Marco sent that last missing piece of your soul to…I know where it's hidden…
Tabuu looked like he was interested in what Hades had to say and let go of his neck.
Tabuu- Ok, Hades…tell me then. Who did Marco send that last piece of my soul to?
Hades- Funny thing really…you're actually related to him…
