Chapter 11: Happily Ever After… Or Is It?

Shrek and Fiona both kiss, the two of them having a proper wedding, and at the swamp itself. Many people had actually come to see the ceremony happen, even some Knights of Duloc as security, along with the Stormcutter dragon, alongside Deadly Nadders and Zipplebacks, along with a few other smaller dragons. Braedey and Chika were there as well, smiling at the new ogre couple. Practically, all the fairytale creatures were there as well.

Once done with their kiss, Shrek and Fiona made their way through the crowd towards their carriage, which so happened to be made out of an onion, with two horses pulling at the front. Fiona tosses her bouquet towards the girls, which both Cinderella and Snow White try to catch, but they end up getting into a cat fight. So, the Stormcutter caught the bouquet, handing it to Chika instead. She looked at the bouquet in confusion, then she looked over to Braedey, who was rather surprised. The two looked over to Shrek and Fiona, the former ogre giving a salute, and Braedey blushed bright red, his dorsal plates pulsing blue as a result, and Chika blushed red as well.

The dragons let out a chorus of roars, as the carriage soon rode away, people waving to the leaving couple, as they went on their long honeymoon. Braedey smiled at his two friends, recovering from his blush, and he lets out his own roar, shooting a beam of blue flames into the sky above.

After that, and after everyone had left the swamp to go back home, Braedey and Chika soon got to cleaning up, the other dragons helping out here and there. It was lucky to have an extra set of feet and claws, as well as long necks, to get the job done, and eventually, the swamp was back to the way it was, except a lot cleaner than before.

"There. Now both Shrek and Fiona will be coming home to something nice." Braedey signed, leaning up against a large rock. "And on top of that, I've made myself a treehouse nearby." He gestured over to the nearby trees not far from the house.

"Why did you build a treehouse?" Chika asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, since both Shrek and Fiona will be living together in their home, I figured I should give them their space, but I'll still be there, just out of the way for them." Braedey explained.

"That explains a lot." Chika shrugged. "So, what will happen now?" She asked, then noticing the Stormcutter dragon standing nearby. "And why is she still here?" She asked in confusion. "I thought she left with the other dragons."

"I actually don't know." Braedey began to walk over to the four-winged dragon. "What's wrong? Why aren't you leaving and going back home?" He asked to the Stormcutter. The dragon seemed to give some grunts and growls, as if trying to speak.

"Wh- What did she say?" Chika asked.

"She said that she was tasked to try and find me, to make sure that I was alright, since I've been on my own." Braedey explained. "She's been watching me ever since my father left, as well as my mother. Who's to say when they'll be home?" He shrugged sadly.

Chika gently patted Braedey's back. "I'm sure they'll come back." She reassured him.

Just then, a noise could be heard in the night sky. Braedey, Chika, and the Stormcutter dragon look left and right, trying to see where it was coming from. It almost seemed like a faint whistling sound. Then, the sound became louder, and louder, and louder. It soon sounded like a shrill screaming combined with something falling from the sky.

Braedey looked to the skies, and his eyes widened once he saw what it was: it was a Nightfury, but it was not just any, it was his father! "It's dad! He's here!" He laughed happily.

"Whoa." Chika commented, seeing the father of her friend. 'That is what Braedey's dad looks like as a dragon?' She thought.

The Nightfury flying overhead has a medium sized body with a sleek design with black scales, the body being 26 feet long, with a twin-tail design at the tip of its tail. It has faint lighter patterns similar to that of a manta ray. It seems to somewhat resemble an axolotl or a gecko in general appearance, with four pairs of wings sprouting from its back, the wings having a shape similar to a bat's, having a wingspan of 48 feet, and both wings over top of one another. The ears look to be two mobile, ear-like appendages on the back of its head. It has a pair of large, yellowish-green, cat-like eyes and sharp teeth. It has a short neck, and lacks any kind of horns.

The Nightfury flew down into the swamp, landing near the Stormcutter dragon. The two dragons bowed their heads to one another, as both Braedey and Chika noticed a rider sitting on the back of the Nightfury. The rider dismounted the dragon, and then looked over to the teens, as the Nightfury closed up its wings.

"Wow..." Chika commented with wide eyes.

The person looked to be a woman, and has on a type of dragon scale armour. It appears to be formed of several different pieces tailored to fit the person's body. There is the helmet, pauldrons, chest plating, a scaled codpiece, torso guards, gauntlet and gloves, scaled leggings and knee guards, and boots. The suit is made out of dragon scales, so it has a black colour. The scales are attached to a black leather base, presumably with sticky saliva as the gluing agent. The whole suit is further embellished with a fin on the helmet. It also sports a red dragon symbol on the right shoulder guard plating.

"Braedey, is that you?" The person asked behind the armour, the voice sounding like a mature woman's.

Braedey took a moment to think about who this was, but the voice seemed to signify something. "Mother?" He asked in surprise.

The figure in armour nodded its head to Braedey, as the Nightfury began to change form, now becoming a human being, as the figure in armour removed its helmet, the two now revealing who they were before Braedey and Chika.

Braedey's father goes by the name of James Striker Martin, is a Caucasian at around 35 years of age, with a set of yellow/green eyes, and accompanied with short spiky black hair. He stands at around 6ft tall, and he has a muscular body figure and shape. He has on a cotton white shirt that hugged his broad chest and muscular upper arms, along with a black jacket overtop, made out of dragon scales linked together, a pair of blue pants cut and seen together, and black dragon-scale boots.

Braedey's mother goes by the name of Naomi Valkyrie Martin, is a lovely and beautiful young woman, with fair lightly peach skin, looking around 35yrs in age, with bright gentle blue eyes, and a pair of small red lips. Her hair is a golden brown teaching down to her shoulders with a gentle flow, whilst two small strands of hair frames her angelic-like face. She has a firm slender body shape with a slightly above average bust and hip size, whilst she stands 5ft tall.

"Braedey..." Naomi walked up to her son, and he hugged her son, James hugging the two of them as well.

"What happened to you, Braedey?" James asked, releasing their family embrace. "How come you weren't back at the cavern? There's a family of bears now living there."

Braedey and Chika soon explained about what had happened in the events prior; Braedey ending up in the black market of fairytale creatures, meeting Shrek, then going to deal with Farquaad, next going off to rescue Princess Fiona, finding out she's half-ogre, and finally, dealing with Farquaad and the two ogres getting married and they're now on their honeymoon.

"Boy, that's quite an adventure." Naomi commented to her son, then looked over to the Stormcutter. "I see that my dragon Cloudwinger has kept an eye on you." She said, gently patting the dragon's neck.

"Well, she's a lot better than a Razorwhip." Braedey added, getting a pat on the head by James.

James chuckled. "That's my boy. By the way, you haven't come across any of those Rumblehorns, have you?" He asked.

"Uh... can't say that I have." Braedey admitted. "But, if I did, I know to stand clear of those guys."

"Rumblehorns?" Chika asked in confusion.

"I'll explain later." Braedey replied back.

Just then, a chirp could be heard. Chika looked over towards the trees, and to her surprise, there was an Eurasian Tree Sparrow sitting in the branches of a tree. She gave a small whistle, and the bird flew over to her.

"Hey, Chirp. What brings you here?" Chika asked, then taking note of a small piece of paper. She read it, then handed it to James. "You might want to take a look at this. It's pretty serious."

James read the paper, then he snarled. "Dragon fights. Forcing dragons to fight for the pleasure of people? How dare they." He growled. "It says they're up in the North, over by a cluster of islands."

Naomi sighed, then turned to both her son and his friend. "I'm really sorry about this, but we'll have to leave. We only had today to come and meet you." She apologised to them.

"I understand." Braedey nodded, although he wasn't too thrilled about his folks leaving so suddenly. "But... just try and stay out of trouble, please?" He asked his mother.

"I will." Naomi brought her son into an embrace, holding him close to her. "And same to you. Try not to get into any trouble."

"I'll try to." Braedey shrugged to his mother.

"Let's get going. And son..." James looked to Braedey with caring eyes. "You take care." With that, he changed into his Nightfury form, letting out a roar, and ready to take to the skies

"Right. You two take care." Naomi walked over to Cloudwinger, climbing onto her back, securing the helmet she had on her head. "We'll be back before you know it."

With that, both the Night Fury and Stormcutter flew off up into the skies above, while Chika and Braedey waved to the departing adults, as the two dragons headed off to the Northern regions.
