Me and my journalism class took our yearbook picture through a screenshot of our Zoom call, and I chose to eat Ramen in my picture. I regret nothing, and it will be one of the greatest achievements of my life.
Song of the Chapter: Cold War by Hans Zimmer
I own nothing but the story.
Spider-Man swung across the city like he did every day.
Some people screamed, some people booed, and there was the rare person who cheered.
Such was the life of Spider-Man.
He saw a mugging down below and shot a web at the ground next to the mugger, pulling on it. He flew down towards the thug, kicking them in the face. The person being mugged ran away and Spider-Man webbed up the mugger. He went up to them and punched them in the face before he left. He realized that he might have broken their nose, but hey, that's what they got.
He jumped and started swinging again. Nothing else really happened after that.
Oh, well, there was something.
His Spider Sense went off while he was climbing a building, and he heard a loud noise, like a footstep of some sort. He looked everywhere, but saw nothing.
"Is something up with my Spider Sense?" he asked to nobody in particular, confused. Then he heard screams and sounds of terror. He looked around and then realized that it was in the building he was on. "What the - " he started, but was interrupted as a large robot with a screen on its face jumped at him. It grabbed his wrists and they both fell down to the ground. The screen came to life and he saw Alistair Smythe's face. "Hello, Spider-Man!"
"Fuck you!" Spider-Man said, shooting a web to get out of the Slayer's grip. It worked, and the Slayer fell to the ground. Spider-Man sighed in relief, but the Slayer jumped out of the crater it made. "Shit!" Spider-Man said, jumping out of the way. He climbed up the tower as the Slayer climbed after him. This one seemed to focus more on strength, but it moved surprisingly fast. Spider-Man jumped and shot webs, trying to dodge the robot.
The Slayer suddenly jumped and grabbed his foot, throwing him off.
"Whoa!" he said, shooting a web to get back onto the building. He stuck back on and the Slayer aimed another hit at him. Spider-Man grabbed the enormous arm and threw it back. While it was stunned, he launched a flurry of punches and kicks at the robot. Some made dents, but ultimately didn't penetrate the robot. The Slayer grabbed him and pinned him against the wall. It aimed it's hand at him, and a hole opened in it. The suit suddenly started failing. It turned into something like liquid, and unlike last time, Peter felt the pain as well. It was like every part of his body was on fire. He screamed in pain and the symbiote shot tendrils out from his body wildly. The ones that erupted from his back broke the part of the building that the Slayer was pinning him to, and the others attacked the robot. It fell to the ground, and Peter thought that it was over, but the Slayer wasn't done yet. "I won't fail, Spider-Man!" Smythe said determinedly. The robot jumped and threw a punch at him, but he caught it's fist and closed his over it, crushing it entirely.
"Wha - " Smythe said, shocked to see Spider-Man do that to the robot so easily. "I think we're done here," Spider-Man said, filled with rage. He didn't even know exactly why he was angry. But he knew he was. And he ripped into the Spider-Slayer, breaking holes in the robot with each punch. "How?!" Smythe said in pure shock.
Spider-Man didn't answer. Instead, he started punching the screen, breaking and cracking it. It shattered, and the Spider-Slayer Mark 2 fell to the ground in pieces.
"Glad that's over with," he said, clinging to the wall. He looked around and saw the large amount of damage done to the building.
"I better get out of here," he said, shooting a web and swinging off.
This one is a bit shorter than the other chapters, but I like it a lot. The fight was especially fun to write.
