Chapter ten:

The next day is rather sun as if the sun is determined to shine upon the land to illuminate anything that will happen. Though there is a threat of some clouds way off on the horizon that are much too far away, that if it rains it will probably be late afternoon.

Mello is currently in Matt's room this morning with the red head who is checking his computer.

Near is in the common room reading a book, his puzzle having been put away in his room, as it is before classes though none of them have gone to get breakfast yet.

All waiting for a certain little something to come through.

Mello is leaning against Matt's desk looking to the other who types away before scrolling through something. "Well? How is it looking?" He raises an eyebrow feeling a little impatient to get the next part going. He stares at the red head as he awaits for a response from him.

"Well we got the go ahead." Matt informs Mello turning so his emerald green eyes meet with the blondes blue eyes. "Why don't you go get our teammate so we can make sure that the next step is all set to go." He suggests while picking up his goggles where they are resting on his desk that holds his computer.

Mello nods to this and he pushes himself away from the desk. He heads to the door opening it then he heads down the hall. He keeps going until he steps into the common room. He spots Near sitting on a couch that is there. He also spots a few other kids on the other side of the room talking to each other. He moves further inside ignoring the other kids. He bumps against Near's leg that is slightly stretched out from where he is sitting.

Near looks up and for a brief moment lets his eyes meet with Mellos own. He is quick to understand the secret message even from the rather brief meeting of their eyes between the two of them. He turns back to his book acting casual, like nothing had happened, as Mello grabs a random book off of the bookshelf.

Mello turns and leaves the room and heads to his own room. He tosses the book onto his bed before falling to his knees next to said bed. He places his right hand onto the covers and looks under his bed. He reaches under the mattress so his hand is between it and the frame of the bed. He pulls out what he has hidden there and gets to his feet. He carefully puts it into his pants pocket. He glances around his room before deciding that he won't need anything else.

Afterall Matt should have everything else that they will need for the next step that they are to take in their mission.

Mello heads out of his room and pauses as Near walks past him. He lets his gaze follow the other as his secret teammate heads straight to his own room. He turns away instead heading off to the red heads room. He opens the door to see the third teammate putting on his goggles over his eyes. He moves further inside shutting the door behind himself to act and look normal.

To look and act as if he is just going to hang out with his best friend before classes are going to begin.

Matt opens a drawer of his desk and empties it out of gaming equipment, like some handheld consoles plus a controller or two, along with game cases. He places that all on the floor beside his desk and hooks his finger into the hole at the bottom of the drawer. He had made the hole just big enough for his finger to fit into it. He pulls up the false bottom revealing the secret he had been hiding underneath it all this time.

The two turn as the door is once again opened, though they remain with expressions that are a mix of calm and seriousness, and Near comes into the room closing the door behind himself.

Near gives a silent nod of greeting to the two of them and pulls out two things he had hidden in his shirt. He settles on the floor sitting as he rubs the two objects together to ensure that the main object will be ready for the next step. "I am assuming that we have gathered because it has finally come to the time that we can make our next move."

"That is correct." Matt confirms checking on one of the things he had hidden in the drawer making sure he only has what he will need. "We got the confirmation this morning. So now we just need to be able to do this. And hopefully we'll be able to count this case as completed."

Near nods with a sound of agreement as he pauses the movement of the two objects to look at the main one. He seems to be inspecting it to ensure that it is indeed ready to go. "That is good. It is about time that we put an end to all that is going on. And that what must happen to those responsible happens." He lowers the main object in his hand to look from Mello to Matt. "We have all worked hard to get to this point. I think that so far we have done well." His words cause his two teammates and friends to smile at the praise that has come from him.

"You are right." Matt agrees looking at Near then he turns to look at Mello before he continues speaking. "Though first we really should start talking about how we are going to approach the next step. We can't mess this part up. The first chance to do this is the best chance that we will have. Besides we will be revealing that we are working together along with parts of our true selves to that man." He is referring to Rodger though he doesn't need to say the others name for the other two to understand.

"Then let us begin planning." Mello agrees to this pulling out his object as Near hands him the object he had been using on his main object. "I say that the sooner that we get this done the better. Before he has a chance to sell off another orphan." He begins to rub the object he was handed against the object he had taken out of his pocket.

In the meantime, Rodger is going through his messages on his computer. "I don't care how risky it is. I want to get rid of more of those brats. The sooner that they are gone the better." He sits there for a few moments with his hands linked by his chin in thought as he goes through the list of orphans in his head to determine which ones he could offer to the others this time around.
