So we're back on RWBY's plot once more.

This time, we are now approaching the Beacon Dance. Will Jaune manage himself on the dance floor? And how will Cinder's (bitch) infiltration of Beacon go out?

Chapter 19: A Dance Since Years

Beacon Training Grounds

CRASH!

Went Cardin as he was flung away by Pyrrha who proceeded to take care the rest of team CRDL with a few graceful movements. However, to their credit, they gave Pyrrha a harder time since they were actually using their brains.

After the last of CRDL finally gave up, the beep sounded off, signialling the end of the match.

"And that's the match." Glynda states as she steps into the arena.

"Ow..." Cardin groaned as he clutched his side and looked up to see Pyrrha offering her hand to him "Thanks..." The former bully said as she pulled him up.

"Your teamwork has improved dramatically, you should be proud." Pyrrha smiled at Cardin.

The Winchester nodded "Yeah... I've been taking advice from Jaume recently, and I gotta say, he does know how to plan."

"Which is certainly taking good effect on your team's dynamic," Miss Goodwitch said "and I hope it continues to do so. Anyways, we have room for one more match before class ends, any volunteers? Miss Belladona?"

Jaune looked at hidden Faunus who slammed her book shut and looked at Glynda wide-eyed.

"You've been rather docile for the past few classes. Why don't yo-"

"I'll do it." A students raised his hand to which Jaune discovered to be Mercury Black.

Glynda looked at the volunteer "Mercury is it? Let's find you a-"

"Actually, I want to fight her." He said with pride as he pointed at Pyrrha.

"Me?" The Champion asked a bit surprised.

"Miss Nikos just had a match, maybe we can find you a dif-"

"No, it's quite alright ma'am." Pyrrha cut in to which the Combat Instructor finally agreed to.

"Right, you will fight using standard tournament rules." Glynda stated as she walked off the grounds.

Jaune observed closely as Pyrrha and Mercury got into position. Then, it begun.

The two began exchanging and blocking blows at a fast pace.

"His weapons are footbased... I can see that he'll also be good with his hands, however his leg-based combat is his forte..." Jaune said as he watched the fight while his team and RWBY cheered Pyrrha on.

As the fight raged on, Jaune took note of Mercury's expressions.

"He's holding back..."

"What?" Yang asked a bit confused.

"The bastard's making observations, watch his eyes. He's keeping an eye on her movements and mentally taking notes." Jaune said as he continued his observations.

Then Mercury got tossed to the ground.

The Arc has once again noticed something "Did you see that? He could've easily dodged that attack, he allowed himself to take the blow."

Yang, still confused by what he meant, shrugged and watched on.

Eventually, Pyrrha had the upper hand and was about to deliver a powerful strike on Mercury when he suddenly held his hands up in defeat "I forfeit."

"What?" Pyrrha said in surprise.

Goodwitch sighed and began to give her critiques to both fighters, especially Mercury before dismissing the class.

JNPR Dorm

It has been a long day of classes for JNPR, but they managed to pull through the day.

"Bloody hell... I'm beat..." Jaune sighed as he jumped on his bed.

The rest of his team followed suit as they began to relieve themselves from stress.

"So..." began Jaune as he finally caught his breath "...anyone got a partner for the dance yet?"

"Yep! Me and Renny are going to steal the dance floor." Nora proclaimed proudly.

"And you Pyrrha?" The Rifleman asked as he began to unbutton his jacket.

"Well... no one asked me yet... I was hoping that we could go as partners?" Pyrrha said timidly.

Jaune smirked "Aw... sorry to hear that, but I was planning to ask someone else for the dance."

Pyrrha's eyes widened "Wh-what?"

"Yeah," He teased "She's a real looker, beautiful, stunning personality, all of that beautiful stuff."

"Wh-who is she?" The Spartan asked, suddenly feeling extremely jealous.

"Some Mistralian named Pyrrha Nikos." He grinned as he looked her dead in the eye.

It took several seconds for Pyrrha to register what he just said before she went so red that her hair was blushing.

Jaune was howling with laughter, as was Nora while Ren was smirking.

"Y-he he- you should've seen the look on your face!" Nora wheezed out.

Jaune, who finally regained his composure, asked "Ah... anyways... the question still stands. Do you want to be my partner for tonight Miss Nikos?"

Pyrrha finally looked at him in the eye before replying "Yes..."

"Wonderful," Jaune said as he gave Pyrrha a wonderful smile that melted her heart ",see you at 5?"

"I will..." She replied.

"Well, I'll be going out. I have to pick up my suit at the postal office. I'll see you soon Miss Nikos." With that, he left the room with Ren and Nora, the latter of which was still giggling at Pyrrha.

...

Jaune was still smiling to himself when he passed by Beacon's Ballroom which was currently being decorated in various banners and flowers.

He decided to check on RWBY as he heard that they've been selected to manage the party in place of Team CFVY who had a last minute mission.

Upon entering, he discovered that the ballroom was looking splendid tonight.

"Beautiful work here lasses." Jaune said as he looked around.

"Thanks Dick! It really is beautiful!" Yang called out as she placed a giant speaker down.

"Again Xiao Long, stop calling me that!" Jaune groaned as he saw Ruby moping on one of the tables.

Being the friend he is, he approached the Reaper "Hey there Crater Face. What's with the frown?"

"It's Blake... she said she wouldn't come" Ruby sighed as she continued "She's been out of it ever since we took down Torchwick's operation..."

"Hm, well I think Yang's got that figured out." Jaune stated.

"Why'd you say that?" Ruby perked up as she was now curious by what he meant.

"She has a laser pointer. I can see it from a mile away." Jaune deadpanned as he watched Yang smirk to herself as she left the ballroom.

"Oh... so, you got a partner for dance night?" Asked Ruby as she cheered up a bit.

"Yeah, Pyrrha. I'm actually out here to pick up my suit since my uniforms won't do." The Arc replied.

"Oh! That sounds nice." The Young Rose said "Anyways, I think you still have to pick up your tux."

Jaune looked at his watch and nodded in agreement "Quite. I'll see you later Ruby."

With that, he ran towards Beacon's postal office.

When he arrived, he did not expect to see a familliar face waiting for him at the entrance.

"There you are dummy. What took you so long?" Verte grumbled as she walked up to him, clutching a box.

"Verte? What the hell are you doing here?" Jaune asked, shocked by her sudden arrival.

"What does it look like? I'm here to bring you your suit." She retorted before giving him the box.

"Right... thanks. So, how's it going back there?" He asked his sister.

Verte finally sighed as she eased up "Well, Mom's still mom. Dad is always... being Dad. Sisters are sometimes cool, sometimes not. You know? The usual."

"And how have you been?" The slightly younger Arc asked.

"Fine I guess." Verte replied "Actually, I just remembered, Jeanne's coming to Beacon today."

"Jean? She advanced that quickly?" Jaune asked astonished.

"Yep."

"Huh, that's neat I guess." Jaune said as he remembered his younger sister who was just a few months younger than him.

"Well, I guess that's it for today. Come here little bro." She said, pulling him into an embrace to which he returned.

After a few seconds, she let him go "I'll see you next time brother."

Without another word, Verte left Jaune while he waved her goodbye.

JNPR Dorms

Pyrrha had just finished her make-up when she heard someone knocking on the door.

Upon opening it, she saw Jaune all dressed up.

"Mi'lady." He greeted the Spartan.

"Jaune... you look splendid. You even got the tie perfect." Pyrrha marvelled as she took in his appearance.

"I'm a quick learner... and you Miss Nikos look beautiful." Jaune complimented.

Pyrrha fought the urge to blush, but she couldn't as her cheeks began to glow red again.

Jaune smirked at this "Well, are we all set Miss Nikos?"

"I guess we are Jaune..." Pyrrha replied.

"Right, shall we?" The Arc offered his hand to his partner.

"We shall." She replied as she hung on Jaune's arm as the two began to walk towards the ballroom.

As they walked along, Pyrrha decided to ask "Jaune?"

"Hm?"

"When you were... back there in Earth, did you ever get to dance with a woman?"

Jaune went silent before replying "I... honestly do not recall a single moment where I took a woman I loved dancing..."

Pyrrha listened on

"Teresa, she died before I got the chance. Ellie, it wouldn't have worked out... Jane, we never had the time, that and she cheated on me. Lucille... no."

He looked at his partner "If I'm being honest, I haven't danced with anyone back then. I'm not sure if sisters count, current sisters mind you."

"Well, how about me for a start?" Pyrrha suddenly said.

"Oh my gods I did NOT just say that out loud..." Pyrrha's thoughts panicked.

"Well... why else did I ask you out Mi'lady?"

"..."

Jaune simply giggled at his partner's awkwardness.

...

The partners soon arrived at the ballroom and was met by Yang.

"Hey there love birds! Looking lovely tonight!" She greeted in her usual cheeky manner.

"Better than ever Yang." Jaune casually replied "Did you get the Kitty?"

Yang only replied with a thumbs up to which he smiled at.

"Right, we'll be heading down now. Xiao Long blondie."

"Later Dick!"

Sigh.

Jaune soon guided Pyrrha around the dance floor as they decided to save themselves a spot in the middle.

"So, you DO know how to dance, right Pyrrha?" The Arc asked as he held her by the hand.

"Well, I only know a few moves... the ones we practiced with Ren and Nora do not count, but I think I can keep up." His partner replied.

"Think you can keep up with me?"

"Is that a challenge Sir Arc?"

"Maybe it is."

Then, as if on cue, the music began playing, a classic song to be specific.

"After you Mi'lady." Jaune smiled

Pyrrha smiled back before they began to dance with such grace.

Like a well oiled machine, the partners took the floor as they complemented each other's movements. It certainly was an eye catcher, especially for a blonde teen who had just arrived at the ballroom.

"There you are..." The mystery blonde smiled.

As their warm up dance continued, the partners decided to have a small conversation.

"Guess I underestimated you. Maybe you CAN keep up with me." Jaune smirked

Pyrrha smiled back "Well, I did want to impress you on your first dance with a girl."

"Whoa there, who said impressed? I simply said I underestinated y-" Jaune was about to reply when someone yanked him by the ear and pulled him away.

"How dare you! After all we've been through Jaune! You'll just leave me hanging right there?!" The girl grumbled, but not so loud to create a scene.

"Let go of him!" Pyrrha protested as she too was taken by surprise by this mystery girl.

"Ow! Ow! Ow! What the bloody hell is going on?!" Jaune wondered loudly.

"Oh don't you pull that act on me Jaune! You think I don't know you?!" The mystery girl said as she continued holding him by the ear.

"Let go of my partner!" Pyrrha finally mustered up enough courage to intervene as she pushed the girl away from Jaune who finally got a glimpse of who was pulling his ear.

"Oh fuck me..." He groaned.

Pyrrha's eye twitched as she suddenly thought that Jaune had a girlfriend "Jaune... who is she?"

"Jean fucking Arc..." He sighed in pure disbelief "My younger sister..."

The Spartan's thoughts suddenly exstinguished when she heard that the girl was just her sister.

Jeanne smiled with cheek as she didn't care that Jaune was ready strangle her.

"Pyrrha, Jeanne. Jeanne, this is my partner, Pyrrha Nikos." Jaune introduced his sister to his partner and vice versa.

"I see... nice to meet you Jeanne..." Pyrrha said as she reluctantly brought her hand out for the other girl to shake to which she did.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Nikos. I think my big brother landed himself the jackpot with you as his partner." Jeanne replied

The Spartan smiled and said "I think I myself had landed on the jackpot when I met Jaune. He's quite the character indeed..."

"Are you sure you're talking about a green clad blonde who carries an old rifle?" Jaune's sister joked.

Jaune would not have any of it "Yes she meant this handsome bastard. Anyways... jokes aside, how are you doing Jeanne?"

"I'm great Jauney!"

Pyrrha suddenly felt that this was going to be a problem.

Eventually, the Jaune's sister left them to continue their dance, much to Jaune's delight.

"Finally..." He muttered before turning back to Pyrrha "Anyway, I think we didn't get to finish our dance."

Pyrrha replied "We can finish that later, if you don't mind, I'd like some drinks."

Jaune nodded before heading off to the punch bowl. Upon grabbing two glasses, he spotted Ruby.

"Hiding at the punch bowl I see?" He joked l.

"Oh! Hey Jaune!" Ruby smiled as she drank another glass of punch.

"You guys outdid yourselves for this party, quite the effort."

"Oh thank you, Yang had a good hand in this, but Weiss did most of the work."

"I see, I'm taking it she and Neptune are having a great time?"

"Uh... no?"

Jaune looked at Ruby as if she was mad "I beg pardon?"

"Weiss came to the dance alone. Neptune turned her down." Ruby replied.

"Hm..." Jaune then caught Neptune laughing with Sun and Blake before deciding to head out the balcony.

"Right, I'll get going now. Pyrrha will probably want to get that punch now." Jaune said as he left the punch bowl.

After giving Pyrrha her drink and excusing himself to go talk to Neptune, he found him standing by the balcony.

"So, how's the dance so far Neptune." Jaune asked as he approached him.

"Eh, it's kinda lame. Girls are cute though... I also want to say congratulations for getting Pyrrha as your partner." He replied.

"Is that all? Really Vasilias? I thought you'd be a bloody gentleman."

"Woah there, where's this coming from?"

"Weiss! THE Weiss Schnee asked you to dance with her, and you bloody turned her down?"

"Look... it's complicated... if you want her I, you can have he-"

"You don't get it do you? She's not some object for you to keep. She's a-" Jaune ranted before Neptune cut him off by giving him a straight answer.

"I can't dance!"

Jaune could not believe his ears "What?"

"I can't dance man..."

"Mate, you got bloody style and all, but you'd rather break a girl's heart?"

"...that pretty much sums it up."

Jaune fought the urge to throw him off the balcony, and luckily fought if off "Gods damn it Neptune, if you can't dance, just come clean about it. Lower your bloody pride for once. Take my word for it."

Neptune stood there silently before he relented "Yeah... I-I guess you're right."

"Get in there, make her bloody day or else I'll drown you." He warned as Neptune went back in.

...

Jaune had returned to the ballroom where Pyrrha was waiting for him.

"You took your time."

"Eh, had to help someone realize that they have to drop their ego." Jaune replied as he took her by the hand "Now I do believe we didn't finish our dance Miss Nikos."

"We certainly did not. Shall we continue?" She replied.

"Taking intiative I see, and I thought you'd be a tad nervous."

"Took a page from Yang's book."

"She has a book? Oh dear, I do hope it doesn't get published." Jaune smirked.

Then, the music changed to a more upbeat tune.

Jaune saw Ren who nodded at him.

"He gave the signal, let's go." Jaune whispered to Pyrrha.

The Spartan suddenly lost some of her confidence, but decided to at least give it her best shot.

With that, she followed Jaune as she and the rest of team JNPR would show Beacon one of the best performances of the dance.

They would pull it off flawlesly as well.

Kick step, kick step, body roll. It's not rocket science as Lie Ren would say.

Beacon Dorms

It had been several hours later when most of the guests went back to their dorms. Jaune and Pyrrha were one of the last to leave the ballroom.

As they walked along, Pyrrha looked at Jaune "Tonight was wonderful Jaune... it was so fun..."

"I'm glad we enjoyed it then, especially pur little dance tonight."

The Spartan decides it was time "Jaune... I've been meaning to tell you something. It's been something I've been wanting to tell you since Forever Fall..."

Jaune raised an eyebrow " Hm? Well... if you think that you should tell me, then, go ahead. I'm all ears."

Pyrrha held Jaune's hand and looked him in the eye "Jaune Arc, before we met, I had no friends. My fame pushed people away, and I felt alone because of that. I came to Beacon thinking I could make some friends here..."

She took a breath before continuing "At first, people still recognized me as the Invincible Girl, and the thought of making friends began to go down, but then I met you."

Jaune nodded her on as she continued her small monologue.

"You didn't know who I was, and even after you did, you treated me the way I always wanted to be treated, normal. Because of you, I made friendships that would last a life time. You helped me Jaune, in more ways than you could imagine."

"This was it." she thought.

"Jaune... I've been meaning to tell you this, and now I decided that it's time for me to finally come clean..."

Pyrrha took one last breath before gripping his hand more tightly.

"Jaune Arc. I... love you..."

...

...

...

There was a pregnant silence, and Pyrrha was now nervous. Jaune's face showed no signs of thinking, and it was very unsettling.

Then finally...

"Are you done?" Jaune asked his partner in a low voice.

Pyrrha, unable to speak anymore, simply nodded.

"Alright..."

Then all of a sudden, he pulled her into a deep kiss.
