Jotaro wakes up.He looked around.He was in prison.It felt like the time where he arrested himself in the day he 1st got his Stand.
"Finally,you're awake."
Jotaro looked up to see Asami sitting in the corner opposite to him.
"Asami?How long have I been out?"Jotaro asked.
"A few hours.I was starting to get worried that you'll never wake up."Asami said.
Jotaro grunted."Gotta say;Tarrlok's one messed up Councilman."
"I agree.I can't believe Tarrlok would go this far."Asami said.
Jotaro noticed Asami's worried look."You ok?"
"Why?"
"You seem to be thinking of something."
Asami sighed."It's just that...I've been with my father for years.He took care of me when my mom died.And know that I found out that he's an Equalist,it just breaks my heart.People admired my father as an inventor not an Equalist.Now,people may think I'm just like him."
"I'm sorry for your loss.But,Asami,don't think people will think of you as an Equalist."
"Why not?"Asami asked.
"Because you're you.You're not your father.What you're thinking right now shouldn't matter to you but if it does,then prove to the people that you're different than your father."
Asami hesitated."You're right.I'll do that.Thanks,Jotaro."
"Anytime."Jotaro said as he laid down on his bed.
Asami then laid down on her bed too.But,she thought of something.
"Hey,Jotaro.During that time we fought those Equalists,how were you beating them by just standing there?"Asami asked."Jotaro?"
She turned to see Jotaro fast asleep.
I guess I can ask him about it tomorrow.*Asami thought as she fell asleep.
In a basement room with a metal box in the center and a dark staircase the door at the top opes showing Tarrlok using his Bloodbending to levitate Korra who is groaning while Tarrlok is going down the stairs and then puts her into the metal box.
"What are you doing?"Korra asked.
Tarrlok puts her to the metal box and releases his Bloodbending and then shuts the door.
"Tarrlok!You can't keep me here forever!"Korra yelled but Tarrlok didn't reply.
He locked the door to the house and stepped into his car and drives off from a remote snowy mountain.
The next morning,Tenzin and Pema were asleep.Meelo cuddled in between them.The telephone beside Tenzin started ringing and Meelo woke up to the sound of it.He crawled over to the phone,planting his foot on Tenzin's face in the meantime and answered the call.
"Who is this?It's 6:00 in the morning!This better be important."Meelo said.
Tenzin takes the phone away from Meelo and starts talking.
"Councilman Tenzin here."Tenzin said but then he becomes shocked."What?"
Tenzin hurried on his way to City Hall.When he got inside,it was a mess and there were reporters taking pictures.There were Equalist gloves and masks around the room.A chi-blocker bola was snagged around the column.Then,Tenzin finds Tarrlok having his arm healed by a male healer.
"What happened?What was Korra doing at City Hall?"Tenzin asked.
"As I told Chief Saikhan, Korra came to my office late last night. She was upset that I arrested her friends. She asked me to release them... and that's when the Equalists attacked.I tried to protect Korra.But we were outnumbered.Then,I was electrocuted.When I came to,the police arrived.But Korra was gone.I'm so sorry."Tarrlok said and he turns to Saikhan."Chief Saikhan, mobilize the entire police force. We have to find the Avatar."
Meanwhile Lin is in her room lying on her bed while listening to the radio.
"We interrupt your regularly scheduled broadcast to bring you this special report."The radio said and Lin stirred and focused her attention it.
"Late last night, Equalists attacked City Hall. They subdued Councilman Tarrlok and captured Avatar Korra. Details are still coming in but-"
Lin shuts off the radio and then gets up.She opened her closet and metalbent the suit onto her body and removes the police symbol on it.Then,she threw on a coat and headed out the door.
At the police headquarters,Asami and Jotaro are in their beds but then Lin Metalbends the cell open.
"Hope you both got enough beauty rest.C'mon.I'm busting you all out."Lin said.
"Thanks.I owe you."Asami said.
Meanwhile in Mako and Bolin's cell,Mako stood with his back to his brother.Bolin was peeing in a bucket.
"Are you done yet?"Mako asked.
"Cover your ears.I can't go when you're listening."Bolin said.
Mako groaned and complied. Lin smashed down the door to their cell and Asami ran through,followed by Jotaro.
"Asami!Jotaro!"Mako cried.
Asami ran forward and kissed Mako.
Bolin shrieked."A little privacy,please."
"Are you all right?"Mako asked Asami.
"I'm fine.It's so good to see you."Asami said.
"Hate to break up your lover's reunion but Korra's in trouble.Amon captured her."Lin said.
"What?"Jotaro said.
"No.No,she can't be gone."Mako said.
"Come on. We have an Avatar to rescue." Lin said.
All of them headed out the door but when Bolin passed Lin,Lin metalbent his zippers up.
"Your fly was down."Lin said.
"Thanks for catching that."Bolin said.
Back at the small house on the snowy mountain,Korra was still pounding on the walls of the metal box.
"Somebody!Help!Please!"Korra called but nothing happened and fell to the floor in defeat.Then,she heard Tenzin's voice.
I urge you to meditate on these visions.I believe Aang's spirit is trying to tell you something.*
Korra meditates and then a flash occurs.
Aang was standing,looking into the distance,as if he was waiting for someone.He heard footsteps behind him and turned around.
"What are you doing here,Aang?I told,I have this under control."It was Toph.
"Under normal circumstances,I wouldn't be involved.But if what those victims said is true,we're not dealing with a normal criminal."Aang said.
"Fine.Follow me,Twinkle-Toes."Toph said.
"Toph,I'm 40 years old.You think you could stop with the nicknames?"Aang asked annoyed.
"Afraid not."Toph replied.
They went inside a small bar,where their target was.The man was eating but Toph points her finger at the man.
"It's over!You're under arrest,Yakone!"Toph yelled.
The man named Yakone smiled."What is Republic City coming too?Used to be,a man could enjoy his lunch in peace."
Toph bends a metal cable at Yakone and yanks him forward over his table.
"What's the big idea?"Yakone asked.
"We have dozens of witnesses,Yakone.We know what you are."Aang answered.
"Take him away."Toph ordered.
"I've beaten up every trumped-up charge you yahoos have brought against me.And I'll beat this one too."Yakone said with a smile.
Aang narrowed his eyes and the vision ends.
"Whoa, I've finally got a connection to you, Aang, but what are you trying to tell me? A way out of this box would be nice." Korra said as she meditates again.
Part 20
Tenzin was sitting at his desk,talking on the phone when Jotaro,Mako,Asami,Lin,and Bolin walked into the room.
"I have to go.Call me back the minute you hear anything."Tenzin said as he hangs up the phone and is shocked to see the 4.
"Lin?What-what are you-you should be in the hospital."He pointed at the others."And you 4,you should be in prison."
"I figured you could use our help finding Korra."Lin said.
"Got any leads?"Jotaro asked.
"I've been on the phone all morning. But nothing yet."Tenzin answered.
"We need Naga.She can track Korra!"Mako said.
"I'm afraid her polar bear-dog is missing as well."Tenzin replied sadly.
"So,where do we start?"Bolin asked.
"My guess is that the Equalists have her underground. Possibly in the maze of tunnels beneath the city." Lin said.
"Underground. Just like my father's secret factory." Asami muttered.
"Yeah, yeah! That makes sense. When those chi-blockers had me in their truck, it sounded like we drove into a tunnel." Bolin said.
"I know where to start looking."Mako said as the 4 rush out.
"Wherever Amon is keeping Korra, my officers are probably there too."Lin said.
"Let's bring them all home,Lin."Tenzin said.
Jotaro,Mako,Bolin,Tenzin and Lin arrive at the location Mako indicated by flying on Oogie and the bison lands on a deserted street while they got off him.
"The truck with Bolin took off down this alley." Mako said.
They dashed after Mako.After running a little,they reached a crossroads.
"Which way?"Asami asked.
"Hmm.This way kind of smells familiar."Bolin said as he puts his hand on his chin.
Lin planted a bare foot down on the ground and pointed to the right.
"There's a tunnel nearby."Lin said moving and they follow her and arrive at the embankment.
"There!"Mako said pointing at a large tunnel entrance with a metal gate.
"Motorcycle tracks." Lin said.
Korra has to be in there...somewhere." Mako said and Lin Metalbends the gate open and they go into an intersection of tunnels while Mako Firebends to light the way.
"Let's try this way."Mako said.
"What if she's not down here?"Jotaro asked.
"Then we keep searching 'till we find her."Mako replied.
The group continue walking down the intersection of the tunnel.Asami and Bolin followed in the back.
"Hey,is Mako alright?He seems really worried about Korra."Asami said.
"Yeah,we all are."Bolin said.
"I know but...he's your brother.Do you think Mako likes Korra as more than a friend?"Asami asked.
"Uh, what? No! No, that's just gossip. Where'd you hear that? Crazy talk is coming out of your mouth right now."Bolin replied.
Asami narrowed her eyes."What do you know,Bolin?C'mon spill it."
"Nothing. I mean, there was this one time during the tournament where Mako and Korra kissed but-"
"They kissed?"Asami asked.
"Yeah,I was upset too.Jotaro saw them kissing too but he didn't care.But I'm over it.I don't think it meant anything."Bolin said.
"I doubt that."Asami said.
Just then motorcycle noises are heard.
"Hide!"Lin yelled.
They huddled out of sight against the dark walls.The bikes soon came around the corner.One of the riders flipped a switch and an entrance appeared in the wall. They drove into it and the entrance closed, looking like a normal wall again.
"That must be where they're keeping Korra." Tenzin said.
"We need to get down that tunnel."Lin agreed.
The 6 of them boarded a tram and it started moving down the tunnel When they arrived at the end of the line, they took out 2 guards and Lin checked out the prison with her bare foot again.
"My officers are inside."Lin said.
"And Korra?"Jotaro asked.
"I don't see her yet."Lin replied.
They began moving through the cells, seeing if there was anyone inside. They turned a corner and saw 2 guards.Jotaro activates Star Platinum just in time and Star Platinum chokes the guards and slams them against the wall.
Mako ran up to one of the guards and shoved him up against the wall.
"Avatar Korra!Where're you keeping her?"Mako asked
Lin peers into a prison cell and finds her metal cops being held and so she Metalbends the bars and walks in.
"Chief Beifong?"One of the officers asked.
"I'm too late. That monster already took your bending, didn't he?"Lin asked.
They all nodded sadly.She looked at the ground."I'm so sorry. Come on, let's get you out of here."
Mako held fire under the Equalist's face."I'll ask you one more time; where is she?!"
"We don't have the Avatar. And the Equalists didn't attack City Hall. Tarrlok's lying!"The Equalist replied.
"What?"Mako cried.
"I scanned the entire prison.Korra's not here."Lin said.
"Why would Tarrlok make up a story about Korra being attacked?" Mako asked.
"Because that bastard's got Korra."Jotaro said.
An alarm started blaring. They ran back the way they came. Bolin and Asami were waiting by the tram.
"Let's go people!"Bolin yelled as they get on the tram which starts to take off.
The Equalists get on another tram and start keeping up behind but Bolin uses his Earthbending to collapse the tunnel sides to crash in the rubble.
"Try to chi-block that,fools!"Bolin yelled but soon,they see an army of Equalists waiting up ahead along with The Lieutenant and several mecha tanks.
"We've got more company!"Lin said.
She bent a metal track to form a ramp in front of them. The tram moved up it and she opened the ceiling to reveal welcoming sunlight. They were safe on the surface.
Meanwhile,Korra entered her vison again.
"Yakone has ruled Republic City's criminal empire for years.Yet,he has always managed to stay out of law's reach,until now.You will hear testimony from dozens of his victims and they will tell you.Yakone has manipulated his grip on the underworld by using an ability that has been illegal for decades...Bloodbending."The prosecution attorney said.
"The persecution's entire case is built on make-believe notion that my client is able to Bloodbend at any time on any day.I remind the council that Bloodbending in an incredible rare skill and it can only be performed during a full moon.Yet,the witnesses claim that my client used Bloodbending at every other time except during a full moon.It would be a mockery of justice to convict a man of a crime that is impossible to commit."The defense attorney said.
Later Sokka returns from the deliberation.He stood up and took a deep breath
"In my years,I have encountered people born with rare and unique abilities.Why,I once bested a man with my trusty boomerang,who was able to Firebend with his mind.Why even Metalbending was considered impossible for all of history until our esteemed Chief of Police Top Beifong singlehandedly developed the skill.The overwhelming amount of testimony and evidence has convinced this council that Yakone is one of these unique benders and he exploited his ability to commit these heinous crimes.We find Yakone guilty of all charges and sentence him to life in prison."Sokka announced as he slams his gavel.
Yakone stood up to his feet.Then,he smiled evily and his eyes widened crazily.Suddenly,Sokka and the other council members screamed and were forced to their knees by Yakone's Bloodbending.
Toph fired a cable at Yakone but she was also bloodbent.Yakone laughs evilly as the entire room is under his control while Aang struggles and reaches his hand out.
At City Hall,Jotaro,Tenzin,Mako and the others arrive at the council chamber and they find the council members and Saikhan.
"Thank you all for meeting us on such short notice." Tenzin said.
"Chief."Lin said to Saikahn in a cold manner.
"Lin."Saikahn replied.
Tarrlok ran up to the group."Have you news on Avatar Korra?"
Jotaro approaches Tarrlok and punches him,making everyone gasp.
"What the hell do you think you're doing,Jotaro Kujo?"Tarrlok asked demandingly.
"We know you have Korra,you sick bastard.Tell us where she is now!"Jotaro said.
"I am shocked you would accuse me of such an evil act! I already explained: Equalists attacked us and took her!" Tarrlok said.
"But there were no chi-blockers here last night. You planted the evidence, didn't you?"Tenzin asked.
"That is a ridiculous accusation."Tarrlok said.
"It's true!" A voice said and they turn to see Tarrlok's assistant from behind a pillar.
"He did take her! I was here when Avatar Korra arrived last night, but Councilman Tarrlok ordered me to leave. I was on my way out when I saw Tarrlok bring her down to the garage."The assistant said.
"That is nonsense!Everyone knows you're nothing but a squeaky-voiced liar!"Tenzin yelled.
"But why are you telling this now?And how did Tarrlok beat Korra?"Jotaro asked.
"I was terrified to tell because- because Tarrlok is a Bloodbender! He bloodbent Avatar Korra!"The assistant said and everyone gasps.
"Don't make this any worse for yourself, Tarrlok. Tell us where you have Korra."Tenzin said.
The group got into their fighting stances but Tarrlok Bloodbends them into their knees and knocking them unconcious at the same time.Tarrlok ran out the door.
Later Lin walks to the still unconscious Tenzin.
"Wake up!"Lin said as she slaps Tenzin in the face,waking him up in the process.
Mako was helping Asami. Bolin stretched.
"Aw, man... I had this awful dream where Korra got taken by an evil Bloodbender. So weird." Bolin said.
"Bolin, that really happened. He knocked us out." Asami said.
"Are you serious?! Where is he? Is he here right now?" Bolin asked.
"Tarrlok is long gone. I'll alert the whole force."Saikhan replied as he and the council members leave.
"We've only been out for a while. Maybe we can still pick up Tarrlok's trail." Lin said.
"It could lead us to Korra.Let's go."Tenzin said.
Mako looked aroun."Um,guys.Where's Jotaro?
Jotaro had woken up faster than the others.He saw Tarrlok on a Sato-mobile and kept running and running to chase after him.Soon,he got tired.
"Dammit!How am I going to catch up to him now?"
Just then,he heard a familiar bark.Jotaro looked around and saw Naga running towards him.
"Naga?"Jotaro asked and the polar bear-dog ran up to him and licked him in the face.
"C'mon!We have to find Korra."Jotaro said,getting on Naga who starts to dash off.
Meanwhile,Korra is still meditating.
Everyone in the court room was Bloodbent by Yakone.Aang struggled with all of his might but he still couldn't move.Yakone looked at Toph and forced her to open his cuffs.He stretches his wrists and knocks everyone unconcious except for Aang.Yakone levitates Aang in the air.
"Yakone.You won't be getting away with this!"Aang yelled.
Yakone laughed."Republic City is mine,Avatar.I'll be back 1 day to claim it."
Then,he throws the Avatar into the wall and runs out the door.He grabbed a free animal-pulled cart and took off.
Aang regains conciousness and turns into the Avatar State.He smashed out the door,riding on an air scooter and begins to chase down Yakone.
Yakone looks behind him and gasps as Aang sends a torrent of air,snapping the ropes that tied the animal to the cart,causing it to flip onto its side and slides to halt.
Aang circles around the cart until Yakone comes out of it and Bloodbends the Avatar again.
"This time,I'm going to put you to sleep for good!"Yakone said.
Aang screams in pain as his whole body was in control of Yakone but Aang enters the Avatar State just in time to neuralize Yakone's bloodbending.
He makes a cone of rock,surrounding Yakone and then places his thumb on his forehead.
"I'm taking away your bending,for good."Aang said.
Yakone groans as the Avatar took away his bending.Yakone slumped forward.
"It's over."Aang said and the vision ends.
"Aang, this whole time, you were trying to warn me about Tarrlok." Korra said.
Suddenly, she heard something. It was something in the back of her mind, she couldn't make it out. She began meditating again.It was another vision.
In the vision,Korra saw a blonde man.He was wearing a jacket with a tight tank-top underneath, as well as chaps with an exposed crotch.She noticed his mouth.It wasn't human.He had fangs which surprises Korra.He was laying in the ground,and his head was bleeding and he struggled to get up.He was saying something.
"I have a headache...a-and nausea.How could this happen?Me,DIO feeling sick?My head's been destroyed,so I can't get up?!Dammit!I have to do something!"The man said.
Just then,something splashed on him.
"I covered you with gasoline so I can track your smell."A voice said and the man named DIO looks up and it was Jotaro.
"I feel bad,kicking a guy when he's down but...Nah.I don't feel bad about this at all.My friends and a lot of innocent bystanders are dead because of you."Jotaro said as he lights up his lighter.
Just then,DIO laughs maniacally.A car passes by and Jotaro widened his eyes.
DIO got up to his knees and screamed.
"ZA WARUDO!"
Then,the vision ended.Korra woke up again.
What was that?Is that the DIO that Jotaro was talking about?I have to tell him about this.But first,I need to escape.*Korra thought.
Just then the door opens revealing Tarrlok who is furious.
"My life is a disaster now,thanks to you."Tenzin growled.
"So, your little Bloodbending secret's out? I know how you Bloodbent me without a full moon. You're Yakone's son!" Korra said.
"I was his son.But in order to win Republic City,I had to become someone else. My father failed because he tried to rule the city from its rotten underbelly. My plan was perfect. I was to be the city's saviour. But you- you ruined everything!"Tarrlok said.
"Tarrlok, the jig is up. You have nowhere to go." Korra said.
"Oh, no. No, I'll escape and start a new life. And you're coming as my hostage."Tarrlok said.
"You'll never get away with this!"Korra yelled as she pounds on the metal walls of her box.
Tarrlok walks up the stairs and he gasps to see Amon,The Lieutenant,and several chi-blockers.
"Amon!" Tarrlok cried and Korra gasps as she heard him.
"It is time for you to be equalized."Amon said as The Lieutenant and the chi-blockers took fighting stances.
Tarrlok chuckled. "You fool. You've never faced bending like mine before."
He Bloodbends The Lieutenant and the chi-blockers to the ground.But to his surprise,Amon stayed standing and began to advance.
He redoubles his Bloodbending but this doesn't stop Amon.
"What-what are you?"Tarrlok said,terrified.
"I am the solution."Amon replied as he grabs Tarrlok's hand forced it behind his back.He places his thumb on his forehead and Tarrlok screams as his bending was taken,making all the chi-blockers stand up including the Lieutenant.
"I'll take care of him. You four go retrieve the Avatar. Do not underestimate her. Electrocute the box to knock her out before you open it."Amon said.
Korra was trying to come up with a plan until she looked at the wristband on her right arm.
"It's payback time."The Lieutenant said as he placed his electrical sticks on the box.
Korra fake cries inside the box as the electricity is running through the box and is hanging from the bars at the top of the box by her wristband.
They opened the box to see her lying on the floor.
"Tie her up."The Lieutenant said.Then,Korra Firebends at the Equalists and jumps out of the door.She dodged a bola and smashed the ground,creating a shockwave that made a crater and knocked the chi-blockers off their feet.
Korra burst out the front door to see Amon loading Tarrlok into the back of a truck.She gasped and sent several bullets of ice at him. Amon dodged them all but Korra gets away and jumps off a giant slope of the mountain while the Lieutenant and other Equalists join him.
"I thought I told you not to underestimate her."Amon said.
Korra Waterbends to snowboard down the mountain and while sliding down she trips over a tree root making her lose her balance and she slides across the snow hitting a tree and is now unconscious.
Just then,Jotaro and Naga arrive at the snow.Naga is sniffing while Jotaro looks around.
"Korra!Korra!Where are you?"Jotaro called.
Then,Naga gets a scent.
"What is it,Naga?"Jotaro asked Naga.She dashes off and they later find Korra.
"Korra!"Jotaro said getting off Naga and places his hand on the Avatar's cheek.
Later Korra opens her eyes and sees Jotaro.
"J-Jotaro?"Korra asked.
Jotaro sighed in relief."I'm glad you're okay."
"How did you find me?"
"I brought Naga with me."Jotaro said and Naga starts licking Korra's face and Korra hugs Naga and Jotaro.
"I'm sorry if I made all of you worry about me.I was supposed to save you,but instead you saved me."Korra said.
Jotaro noticed Korra's wounds."You're wounded.Let's get you home."
Jotaro carries Korra and gets on Naga who starts to dash off.
Meanwhile at Republic City everyone is riding on Oogie going for the mountains and nightfall is coming.Then they heard Naga's howl.
"That sounds like Naga!Down there!"Mako cried.
Tenzin veered the bison around and landed beside the exhausted animal.
"Jotaro!"Bolin cheered.
"Korra!"Mako cheered as they got off Oogie.
Jotaro gets off Naga while carrying Korra.
"Korra!Jotaro!Oh thank goodness."Tenzin said.
"Where were you Jotaro?"Lin asked.
"I chased after Tarrlok then I found Naga.She did most of the tracking,though."Jotaro replied.
"Where's Tarrlok?How did you get away?"Lin asked but Mako shoves them out of the way.
"Give her some space!"Mako said.
"Be careful.She's injured."Jotaro said as he passes Korra to Mako.
"I was so worried. You okay?" Mako asked.
"I'm fine,thanks to Jotaro.I'm glad you're here."Korra asked.
Mako smiled and placed her on Oogie's saddle.
"You're safe now."Mako said.
