Sakuras POV:
I woke up, my eyes half lidded as I hopped out of the bed onto the cold floor. I headed out of the room to the kitchen as I started making breakfast for Itachi and myself. I rubbed my hands over my eyes as I waited for the pan to heat up. I broke four eggs and poured it into the pan along with milk when all of the sudden I felt arms wrap around me. My body stiffened immediately as I snapped my head to the side, wide awake and ready to attack. When all of the sudden a kiss was planted on my cheek. I relaxed as Itachis sent filled my nose, I smiled and giggled softly shaking my head.
"Did I startle you?" I nodded smiling, he hugged me a bit tighter. "Sorry, a surprise hug attack I suppose."
"Definitely."
"It smells good." I smiled as I cooked on. "Let me help." He let me go and start spreading bread with butter as I finished up the eggs we sat down at the kitchen table and ate we talked about anything but what was actually going on. The war that's on its way as well as what's going on between us. We got dressed up into clothes we found in the wardrobe. I wore white pants with a red kimono shirt with white outlining. While Itachi wore black pants with a black shirt with a v-line. Later we heard a knock on the door and then it opening. Lady Tsunade walked inside with Shizune. We both bowed to Lady Tsunade as she sat down by the table.
"Is it just gone be us?" I asked as Itachi and I sat across from Lady Tsunade.
"Kakashi is also joining." And just on queue Kakashi sensei jumped through the window.
"I'm here." He walked to the table and sat in between Lady Tsunade and I.
"Inoichi has started interrogating Deidera and so far we only know little of what is going on. We do know that they are indeed planning on attacking the fire nation first and that him attacking the grassy lane village was because he was going to kill me. But that's unfortunately all we know."
"Not even when their planning this?" She shook her head slowly and I sighed softly. I was frustrated as hell, Deideras must be fighting back hard. I didn't know he had such a strong mind to be able to fight back against Inoichi.
"And about the ingredients for the cure?" My heart was in my throat, I tried to swallow it down to hear the answer. I was more afraid that they didn't find everything yet then when I was told of Deidera. Was it because I was scared to face Sasuke and Naruto on my own? No, I faced them alone back then, their still my teammates in my eyes even though they've slipped off the path. Was it because I was afraid of losing Itachi ..? I already knew the answer but I don't think I was ready to admit it yet.
"Our medical team haven't found everything yet. One of the plants, which you must have notice, can only be found in deserts. So their going to have to head to the hidden sand village to retrieve this plant. If the winds are in our favor it will take at most four days before it gets here. But then ..."
"It must be dried out first ..." She nodded slowly, I clenched my fist a bit under the table. I glanced at Itachi, he looked cool and calm but I could sense that he was just as worried.
"But we have already sent out shinobi to go and fetch some."
"We need to find out when they are arriving for the cure and to know when we need to evacuate the people."
"It would be best. Because this fight might get ugly. We can rebuild the village but the people we cant replace..."
"It would be best for the peoples sake if you went with them Lady Tsunade. You and the rest of the shinobi who can fight. Leave it to Itachi and I. The women said that we were the only ones who could stop them. And if we fail then you will need all abled fighters to stand together to protect the people." Lady Tsunade looked at me as I said this and smiled proudly as she nodded.
"Yes you are right Sakura. Usually I would disagree with you and insist that I join. But we must think of our people first." After that they said their goodbyes and told us they would come back as soon as they found more information but for now we had to stay put. I hope they where gone get more information out of him fast, so we can know how long we have until Sasuke and Naruto arrives.
Three days have gone by and still no sign of Lady Tsunade. I paced up and down the living room as I thought this through. I had my anbu mask in hand as I paced. The cure especially made me nervous. What if they were gone come before I made the cure. Itachi stood up and walked over to me as he took me into his arms stopping me dead in his tracks. I leaned against him as I felt my tears well up.
"Relax Sakura, everything's gone work out." He tried to convince me but I knew he was worried himself.
"I need to go to Lady Tsunade ... I need to know what's going on." He nodded slowly.
"I understand."
"Ill be back as soon as possible." I slowly pulled away from him and I don't know why I did it. But my body just moved as I cupped his cheek and kissed him deep and passionately before pulling away. I put on my mask. I formed hand signs and disappeared into cherry blossom petals and reappeared in Lady Tsunade's office. Luckily nobody was in her office but me. Now just to wait for her to return. I sat in her chair as I looked around the office. I wonder how it would be like to be Hokage. I looked at the pile of paperwork on the desk. Must be very hard work, wonder if you even have time for yourself. The door opened and Lady Tsunade came in, I stood up as I removed my mask.
"Oh its just you Sakura. Sorry your probably here to see if we have any new information but ... unfortunately we don't ..." I sighed softly in annoyance as I walk out from behind her desk.
"Tell me Lady Tsunade how does Inoichi do his job?"
"Well he tries to enter the persons mind and as soon as he can he searches their memories but if their memories are blocked he torturers their mind until they give in. As soon as they give in he goes in to gather the information he needs. BUT Inoichi was only able to torture him so far that he only revealed a bit of information before kicking him out of his mind. As soon as Deidera figured out how Inoichi got it right to get through to his mind he made it a mission to prevent it from happening again." I started pacing back and forth in front of the desk again as I thought so through. And that's when it hit me.
"Take me to him. I know how to break him." She frowned but I didn't want to waist time to explain, I put on my mask and I pulled my cloaks hood over my head. "Inoichi is gone see who I am but he will just have to keep my identity a secret." We walked to the intel part of the building as I concealed my chakra. The door opened and both Lady Tsunade and I walked into the room. All heads turned to us. Deidera was chained up in the middle of the room with chakra seals placed all over him. He was only in his navy lose pants with his hair hung lose around his shoulders. His cloak and shirt was also removed. I looked at him silently as Lady Tsunade spoke.
"Everybody out except Inoichi." Nobody questioned her, they either new their place or they were just too afraid to protest. Soon it was only the four of us in the room.
"What's going on Lady Hokage?" She looked at him and he nodded slowly understanding her look. He was a professional I could see it and I knew it myself. Luckily not from first hand experience. I walked to Deidera slowly and he lifted his head slowly, he still had the will of fire inside of him. But at the same time I saw pain in his eyes, torture. Just a little nudge to distract him then Inoichi can do his work. Deidera just needed to let his guard down, that's all I had to do. The best way was the make him emotionally unstable. I stopped in front of Deidera and I crouched down as I looked into his eyes. He looked at me with hatred in his eyes but also a hint of plead. He wanted this torture to end, I didn't understand why he would go so far to keep this a secret from us. Its the will of fire inside of him, the same burning flame inside us all. I understood then, we all have the fire inside us, that's what made us a shinobi. A will to fight for the thing we love or believe in. The thing that ignites our fire, our will of fire.
"You miss him don't you?" He narrowed his eyes slightly at me as he brow furrowed a bit. In the back of his mind he understood but he just didn't want to accept it. "Your teammate I mean, you miss him don't you?"
"They already tried that, it didn't work." That may be but I have a trump card up my glove.
"Even though you two didn't see eye to eye you still miss him. I bet they replaced Sasori like he was just a puppet." I giggled. "No pun intended." His jaw clenched slightly but no sign of breaking. "He died for that stupid organization that strives for peace. He died for their believes but yet they replace the ones who died for their peace like they were nothing. Like they were puppets that served no purpose anymore. Like they did with your friend Sasori." I could see he was biting back his comment. "And I bet this new teammate of yours is annoying you more then Sasori did. That his most probably just getting in the way the whole time. That's why you didn't take your teammate with you when you went after the Hokage. Because you knew he would never be as good as Sasori, he would never full that hole in your heart were Sasori was. And you hate to admit it but without Sasori you are empty. You hate to admit that without the rival of yours who you argued with all that who drove you so mad ... you realized you couldn't live without him." I saw his fists clench.
"Shut up. You know nothing." He hissed under his breath.
"Which made it all the more fun when I punched his heart out of his chest. Broke his body into a million pieces like the puppet he was." I said as I removed my anbu mask along with my hood. His eyes widened as he realized who was crouching in front of him. He tried to rip himself out of the chains as he tried to lunge himself at me. To probably tear my throat apart. And that was the moment when Inoichi went full force into his mind. I stood up as I saw his eyes go blank and his body slumping as he sat on his knees. Inoichi was in and now it was only a matter of time before he came out and told us all we wanted to hear. I put my cloaks hood back on along with my mask as I walked to Lady Tsunade. She smiled wide and proud at me.
"Great job Sakura. I cant believe that worked." I guess there is perks in killing people ...
