Hey, everyone, sooooo Sorry for the late update. I had a few close friends that died because of COVID-19, and I'm still in school. I hope I can make this better by giving you a really long chapter. Thank you for your guys' time and patience, and again, I sincerely apologize.

When the blinding light cleared, the teen saw a stag-like, quadruped Pokémon that is primarily green. On the sides of its head are longhorns that end in dull, curled points. It has a pointed snout with a black blaze running from its nose to the back of its head. Its face, hind legs, and underside are white. There is a pinked-tipped leaf on each side of its neck and leafy tufts on its shoulders.

The blond pulls out his Pokédex to analyze the Legendary Grass Pokémon.

Virizion: Grassland Pokémon: Its head sprouts horns as sharp as blades. Using whirlwind-like movements, it confounds and swiftly cuts opponents. Legends say this Pokémon confounded opponents with its swift movements.

Abilities: Justified

This Virizion is Registered to Morgan.

"A Virizion, huh first time I have seen one, no wonder you weren't so surprised by Hikari?" Morgan gave the blond an eye closed smile like she was pleased that her secret was out. The Grassland Pokémon locked eyes with the blond before stomping its front hoofs, ready for a fight.

Naruto sweat dripped a bit down his forehead before taking a massive breath about to unclip his Pokéball attached to his hip before he felt Hikari grab onto his hand, stopping him.

"Hikari?" he looked to his adopted daughter, confusedly. The rabbit-like Pokémon didn't even look at him; she kept her eyes locked onto the green quadruped Pokémon like in a battle of wills.

'Let me battle Papa' Naruto was surprised hearing the sheer determination from the little Pokémon voice. "I want to battle Papa. I know I can do this." Hikari assertively cut her eyes toward the blond. Naruto was astonished when she gazed into his blue eyes, anticipating him to have the final say. Naruto could see the flames burning into the little fire Pokémon's looks ready to prove herself to him and her friends.

Naruto chuckled, his hair shielding his blue gaze as she awaited his choice, thinking he would choose someone else; she was about to hover to his shoulder, but she was surprised to feel him pat her soft head.

"Sorry about the wait. I didn't mean to keep you waiting! Hikari, prepare for battle!" the blond shouted out in a commanding voice to was filled with confidence. Hikari happily nodded in pride as she flew front and center to face their opponent.

Morgan shot the blond a small grin by his choice.

Jarvis stepped forward, raising his gloved hands "This will be a one on one match! Our own Battle Chatelaine Morgan vs. Aura Guardian Naruto Uzumaki! Please get ready, and let the match begin!" the butler declared, stepping away from the two of them and waving his hands downwards, signaling the beginning of the battle.

"Hikari! Flame Charge!" The Fire Pokémon didn't waste any time as she flew toward the grass type to attack.

"Wait right there" Virizion stomps its hoof standing its ground, waiting until the fire type got close. Naruto was confused, not knowing what Morgan was planning as Hikari was quickly about to collide with the grass type.

"Wait, Hikari!" the blond was about to call out but was too late.

"Use Flash now!" the dazzling flash of light made Hikari stop in her tracks and close her eyes in fear of going blind; it was a brightness to rival the sun itself.

'Damn it! I was too careless!' the blond thought to himself as he reared back to shield his eyes, although still trying to squint to see ahead.

"Stone Edge Virizion" the stag like Pokémon slams it front hoofs into the ground, causing multiple jagged light blue spiked stones to come out of the ground toward the blinded fire type.

"Hikari, dodge it!" the little mythical Pokémon had no time to react as she was launched upward to the sky from the decisive attack. The attack exploded while and hitting its mark. The force of the impact caused the Fire Pokémon to crash the ground pain, while Virizion didn't even move from its position. Before the blond could call out to Hikari, Morgan was already prepared to intervene.

"Now, Grass Knot!" Virizion eyes glowed green as it made multiple green-glowing vines grow out of the ground, binding the tiny fire type in place, preventing her from moving as she cried out in frustration, struggling to escape from the knotted grass.

"Hikari, are you okay?!" he called out to make sure she was okay.

"Come on; I'm expecting a good battle from you, Mr. Uzumaki," Morgan said sneeringly while tapping her heeled foot.

Hikari crouches her body together, and her whole-body glows pale red as it surrounds its body in a round yellow fire. Hikari then fires flames all around from its body at the opponent, like a spinning meteor.

The flames struck Virizion as it skidded back away from the tiny Pokémon, now a bit more cautious from before, not thinking the little Pokémon wasn't a threat in the slightest.

"I see. That was my mistake, but I won't let it happen again," said in a superior tone.

"We'll see about that," The blond replied as he challenged her right back as he balled both his hands into tight fists.

Bring it on.

"Hikari, use Fire Blast!"

"Virizion, Solar Beam!"

Both Pokémon took a massive breath before unleashing their beams of light from their mouths. The two attacks hit the dead center of the arena and met with a mighty crash.

"They're even... Naruto thought as he watched the two powerful attacks strive against each other.

"Alright, Hikari, use Psychic as well. Lets' ramp it up!"

Hikari's eyes turn bright blue, adding on telekinetic powers onto the flames ramping up the infernos power through the attack as more flames suddenly took the shape of a raging firestorm with great intensity. Morgan watched with narrowed eyes as the Solar Beam rapidly began to get pushed back towards Virizion.

"It's strong...but having a type advantage isn't enough to stop us."

"Disappear, now, Magical Leaf!" Virizion swiftly leaped back, barely able to dodge the flames as it blackened the ground. It struck the ground in front of it while unleashing hundreds of leaves around its body like a vanishing curtain for protection.

"Will-O-Wisp those leaves, Hikari!" the blond shouted back. The tiny fire type created a ring of light blue and dark blue fireballs around its body before firing the fireballs at the dancing leaves, reducing them all to ash.

Hikari was looking back and forth anxiously, not able to spot the large grass type anywhere.

"Hikari, stay sharp!" the blond called out. Hikari took a brief look at her father before turning back to concentrate back on the field.

"Only one place where it could go heads up, Hikari!" Naruto looked toward the sky.

"Giga Impact!" Morgan hollered

Hikari looked up, stunned as the grass Pokémon dove towards the ground surrounded by a hue of purple swirling energy. The power was so great that the Pokémon creating it almost disappeared from view, becoming a mere shadow.

"A head-on attack, huh, two can play that game, Hikari V-create!" the fire type ears ignite into flames. The red aura around Victini's body came together as a V-shaped yellow flame. Hikari then dashes towards Virizion without a second thought. Both attacks' collision caused a gigantic explosion with a short blast, causing smoke to gush out all over the arena.

Both Naruto and Morgan looked on as it cleared to reveal both Pokémon in the center breathing heavily.

"Let's finish this!" Morgan shouted out, really getting into the match.

"Heh, that was powerful, but we're not throwing in the towel yet! Use Glaciate!" Naruto ordered as he got worked up, and Hikari smirked and released vast chunks of ice from its body at the dual grass type. It roared Virizion as it skidded back from the surprise move.

"You both are just full of surprises, aren't you, Charge Virizion and use Swords Dance!" Virizion glow light-blue, and multiple light-blue swords circle it as it raced toward the fire type.

"Sunny Day and Dazzling Gleam together!" Hikari points upward, causing the sky to become clear and sunlight to intensify as a blinding light inflicts the entire field making everyone shield their eyes from the colored lights.

When the brightness cleared, the tiny Fire-type was already in front of the grass Pokémon. Its body surrounds by a round yellow fire. "Searing Shot!" Victini then fires the flames from its body like spinning meteors.

The attack met its mark hard, making the grass type land hard on its side, sending up a small cloud of dust into the air. Naruto gave no hint of emotion as he watched the antelope-like Pokémon climb back to its feet. Morgan clenched her fists, frustrated at her tactic against her. The debris was clearing up a bit from the field.

'I'm impressed none the less by his thinking on the fly kind of style,' she thought, seeing the blond swung his fist and cleared out the dirt in front of his vision with the power behind his fist.

"Hikari up high!" In response, Hikari sprang up in the air to higher ground. "Don't let it get away!" Virizion leaped in the air so that it was now in mid-air up after the bunny-like Pokémon.

"I'm extremely impressed with Virizion jumping power!" the blond called out.

"I'm glad we impressed you with something in this match," Morgan replied smoothly with a wicked smile.

"Focus Blast!" the Fire-type forms an orb of yellow energy between its hands before throwing it at the Grassland Pokémon.

"Sacred Sword, cut it!" Virizion's body glowed green. Then a long, curved horn was glowing with a light green aura formed on Virizion's forehead. It then slices the ball of power in two as it raced forward, striking the tiny Fire-type as the impact kicked up black smoke clouds.

"Hikari!" the tiny fire type plunged from the smoke from the damage.

"Virizion, don't let up. Use X-Scissor now!" the Grassland Pokémon charged down toward the smaller Pokémon.

Hikari was falling from the sky at a rapid pace as Virizion was closing in on its opponent. Virizion becomes surrounded in a green aura as it drops down, ready to collide with Hikari's vulnerable body.

'Hikari, can you hear me?' the little fire type creaked her blue eyes a bit, trying to see her adopted father through the thick smoke but failed.

'I can't see anything, Papa,' she said before starting to sob

'It's okay, just stay calm, okay, and listen to my voice,' he spoke gently

'Okay, I trust you, Papa.' she replied

'Now, when I say now, I want you to duck low then use Incinerate upward a few feet above you' Hikari nodded while her eyes were closed, trusting her trainers/dad's signal.

Virizion was closing in fast, but the blond was ready as it got close enough for his Pokémon to get a clean shot.

"NOW!" Virizions horns were about to land right in the chest of Hikari. Still, instead of getting the wind knocked from her, she ducking underneath the speeding antelope; Hikari spammed and manipulated countless orbs of flames, making it impossible for the grass type to dodge as they all bombarded it.

"Don't give up Virizion use Seed Bomb!" Virizion glared at its opponent as they both were falling from the sky as it charged up its next attack

"Grab onto Virizion now, Hikari" the little Pokémon clutched onto Virizion's neck as it desperately tried to buck it off.

"If it won't let go, then we'll make it! Toxic now!" the Grass-type sprays toxic spores from its body, covering Hikari as her body was starting to become affected by the toxin, and a deep purple hue covered her cheeks, but she still held on throughout the stinging pain.

"I know you can do it, Hikari! Push through it and use Thunder!" Many yellow sparks crackle off Hikari's body, and its body becomes surrounded in yellow electricity. Before striking the Grass-type.

"What?!" Seeing the massive bolts of electricity that sent the grass type and fire type flying towards the ground with a mighty crash, Morgan opens her eyes.

Both trainers shielded their eyes as the dust scattered all around the field. When everyone could see clearly, both Pokémon could barely be picked themselves up. Hikari was breathing heavily as the purple tent was more visible on her cheeks. Morgan sneered as she also noticed that Virizion's whole body was shaking as yellow sparks fell off its body, causing paralysis. Now both Pokémon roles were affected by a status effect.

The two Pokémon glared at each other, while Naruto seemed to notice that this would most likely be the fight's last attack.

"Flame Charge/ Aerial Ace!" both trainers yelled as both could feel the adrenaline pumping through their veins as their battle raged on, and as much as they've enjoyed it, it would have to end at some point.

The two Pokémon waited for a second before both of their eyes widened, and they shot off for each other. Less than a second later, Hikari's slammed into Virizions head, while Virizion's headbutted the fire type in the gut. Hikari's quickly hovered off the ground to stop herself from crashing onto the field, and both Pokémon just stood there for a second.

"Fire Blast, Hikari!" the flames sped across the field toward the Grassland Pokémon.

"Virizion use Aerial Ace again to dodge," Virizion flashing away from its position, narrowly dodging a speeding fire Kanji.

"Use Searing Shot, hit the mark" Hikari's body glowed reddish-orange as she pulled flames from her body and manipulated multiple spheres of fire as the inferno whizzed by from various directions.

"Dodge them all" Evading left and right, the Grass-type would not give the bunny like Pokémon the opening she so desperately needed. Virizion rocketed forward, eventually landing a blow that led to many. Hikari crashed onto the grounds below as where Virizion leaped overhead her fallen body as it was zig-zagged across the field, preparing to smash into its downed target once again.

Hikari was little body made a small dent into the field as she weakly tried getting onto her feet, desperately.

"I have to commend you, Mr. Uzumaki, for this exciting battle, but I think we should wrap this up, Virizion" she snapped her fingers as Virizion landed back over to Morgan's side of the field, looking physically worse for wear.

'Hikari, do you think you have the energy for one more attack?' Hikari weakly got up onto her feet with a small wobble trying to keep herself steady. The blond saw her look back at him with one eyelid close but confirmed with a short nod and discussed his plan to her telepathically.

"Let end this, Giga Impact!" Virizion surrounded by a hue of purple swirling energy, the power so great that the Pokémon had dust levitating from the ground around it before it charged forward speedily, like a speeding bullet.

"Hikari, use Blue Flare!"

'Blue Flare?' thought Morgan in surprise, about to ask Virizion to dodge whatever attack the other Pokémon was about to dish out, but before Virizion got the chance to move an inch, The Grass-type was trapped in place for some reason.

Virizion and Morgan looked down to catch a glimpse of thick vines wrapped around the grass types back hind legs.

'How could I have missed that?!' Morgan didn't have time to think further as Hikari roared pure blue hot streams of overpowering flames. Her natural ability to increase her flames' power when she was low on stamina was finally kicking in to raise her fire attacks' strength. Eyes widening, Morgan ordered Virizion to cease its aggression and evade; unfortunately, the velocity of the infernos; explosion outmatched its speed, which resulted in it being caught in the blast's radius.

Virizion was utterly overwhelmed and sent flying towards the ground in a constant stream of fire. The earth around the Pokémon melted before Hikari stopped the fire and fell to the ground on her feet while breathing heavily. The smoke cleared to show that Virizion was barely standing up at this point.

The massive explosion had nearly knocked down Morgan and had almost taken down the referees even though they were a safe distance away, leaving the green-haired woman extremely impressed.

"No way..." Naruto said in shock when Hikari fell back on her butt a second later, and while holding her gut in pain with one eye closed. She was breathing deeply but still very much awake despite the hardest one on one battle of her life.

Virizion dropped onto its side not moments later, with swirls in its eyes knocked out from the battle.

"Virizion is unable to battle! The winner is Naruto & Victini!" Jarvis announces, Hikari started to fall onto her back, but Naruto caught the small Pokémon before she dropped unconscious onto her back and smiled down at her.

"I'm so proud of you. You worked so hard," the teen said softly as he rubbed his whisked cheek against her furred cheeks before putting the tiny bunny Pokémon inside his cloak to rest.

"Excellent work, Virizion, return~" Morgan returned her Pokémon with an amused smile as she walked up to her younger opponent to the middle of the field.

"So, I hope I didn't disappoint you?" Naruto grinned as he walked up to greet her.

"You, my good sir, have passed my expectations with flying colors" she smiled while holding out her hand as the blond shook her hand, thanking him for a great battle. Jarvis and the other officials came over the pair.

"Your battle was awe-inspiring, Mr. Uzumaki" the other referees were nodding in agreement as the blond blushed, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment from the praise and applause from Morgan and the others.

"I was thinking the prize I was going to give you is pretty small, so I just thought of a better price for you, Mr. Uzumaki, instead of some crummy stone," Morgan called over one of the officials holding a cream colored envelope. The blond was curious.

"Here you go, Naruto. I hope you like this prize better" she sent him a closed eyed beamed as she handed him the envelope.

The teen opened it to find a first-class ticket airplane to Alola and VIP pass to a fancy hotel five-star hotel named the 'Hano Grand Resort.'

"Wow, really, this must be expensive!" the blond asked, wide-eyed looking at Morgan, stunned by the generous gift.

"Oh, think nothing of it, I have too much on my plate right now anyway to take a vacation, so I think why not let you take my place instead."

"The resort is on Akala Island, just show the hotel your ID, and you should be good. Also, one of the Island Kahunas will be your guide as well while your there for your stay," she smiled.

"When will they expire?" the blond asked, looking for a date on the slip of paper.

"You can use the tickets at any time you please. There is no expiration date" Jarvis bowed, explaining why he couldn't find a termination date.

"Wow, thank you so much. I appreciate this" the blond smiled as he put the tickets in his backpack safely.

"where are you off to now, Mr. Uzumaki?" one of the officials asked curiously.

"I'm now heading to Cyllage City for my second gym badge," he stated

"How about we give you a ride Naruto, we're passing by there anyway, heading to Anistar City for a small conference before I head back home to Hoenn. I could use another adventure," she giggled.

"Are you sure it's okay? I don't mind walking" Naruto looked back at Jarvis's face as it scrunched up like he was going to have a stroke when she mentioned the word 'adventure' too loudly.

"Ma'am, I don't think..." Jarvis never got a chance to finish before Moran locked arms with the blond teen.

"Come, let's go. I really want to hear how you pulled off that last Grass Knot without me noticing" she smiled, leading the blond away as Jarvis was trying to tell her about keeping the schedule to make it to the conference on time, but Morgan walked away like she didn't hear her butler crying out in tears.

The sound of explosions came from the distance as black smoke filled the skies as the fire spread throughout the collapsing buildings, the sounds of people crying out in panic echoed in the burnt cover city.

There was an enormous explosion. It was as though a fist of orange flame had decided to punch its way out of the main complex. Windows shattered. Smoke and fire rushed out. Thousands of pieces of glass and steel, a deadly rainfall, showered down. Alarms - shrill and deafening- erupted. Naruto had seen the size of the bomb. It was hard to believe it had done so much damage.

"Damn it, Nova, where are you?!" a long blond-haired child whispered as he held his side in pain. The pain throbbed in his gut; it's deep and warm, but not in a nice way. It feels like someone has their hand in there and are squeezing his organs either gently or as hand as they can. When it wanes, he can move; when it returns, he can only hold still and breathe, breathe slow and deep until it has passed. There is no blood anywhere, but his abdomen is purple and lumpy, where it should be smooth. Every step feels like a nail bomb exploding in the boy's innards.

The blond heard galloping in the distance as he tries getting to his feet once more to see his aggressor but never got the chance as the unknown assailant tackled him with licks mix with tears.

"What Tohru, I told you to stay back at the hospital," The green-colored quadrupedal Pokémon that resembles a pupal stage. Bone structures cover her body, which forms a shell with two openings and three ridges on top.

Her two yellow eyes had tears dropping down, worried at her trainer's safety and his injuries.

"It's okay, girl, I'm fine," I answer back, knowing it wasn't true, and about to pass out again.

'If it weren't for that nice lady with the Garchomp, I'd have not gotten out of the hospital at all. But putting that aside, I promised Nova I would protect him, and we go home together, so I must.'

Naruto rose unsteadily to his feet; it was against doctors' orders to be moving right now, but he needed to move. The blond was surprised when he felt the thick shell of Tohru back as she lifted the blond with her strength to keep him steady.

"Thank you, Tohru, now let's go" the blond gave his Pokémon a painful smiled and a pat as they trekked together toward their leading destination.

The pair got to the edge of the now-demolished Ferrum Stadium meant for the local towns Pokémon competition. Now it lays to waste because of multiple unconscious Pokémon and shattered machine equipment littered the ground, a group of strange characters wearing similar uniforms featuring scarves and helmets. Their uniforms are white, whereas some wore blue uniforms attempting to capture Nova; their real objective seemed to be that colossal Synergy Stone fused onto Nova's shoulder. However, now they're trying to catch him from the display of his powers.

Nova quickly dispatched the group. However, both Pokémon and Trainers around the glowing psychic-type didn't count on how powerful Nova could be after they had detonated multiple bombs trying to slow it down. This catastrophe caused fires to spread and buildings close by to fall.

"Nova!" the crazed Legendary didn't hear the blondes' desperate screams.

"What are you doing over here, you brat!" he looked back, spotting one of the grunts wearing the white uniforms tossing out a Pokémon ready to attack.

A quadrupedal Pokémon resembling a fully-grown lion. Its face, hind legs, torso, and the back of its front legs are blue, much of its body is covered with shaggy, black fur.

"You are getting away, kid, Luxray, use Wild Charge!" not a second later, the ground shook violently, causing the ground underneath them to crack in half and open up, aiming towards the electric type. The trembling had a mind of its own, and the pulsations rammed into the grunts Luxray knocking it unconscious in no time flat. When the blue lion fainted, the ground closes back up, trapping both trainer and Pokémon in the earth. In came a tall blonde-haired woman, with wavy knee-length creamy blonde hair that has bangs covering her left eye—wearing a long black coat with a V neck and black fur trimming the cuffs and running down the end of the coat.

"Hey, you're that lady that was at the hospital with that terrifying Garchomp?"

"Yes, and you're that reckless 9-year-old escaping from the doctor's surveillance when they told you to stay in bed to rest." She fired back with a small smile.

Naruto suddenly coughed from the smoke from the continued battle in the center of the stadium between Nova and the people in white uniforms. The mysterious woman held the child close, protecting him from the black fumes. Naruto looked at the woman before closing his eyes, sensing her aura. He felt it was a cool and calm feeling. The blond thought she wasn't a bad person if she had this type of aura (Mewtwo taught Naruto how to feel different kinds of aura from people to make sure no one takes advantage of him). The blond 9-year-old looked over the horizon as he sensed Nova raging aura from the infused stone, causing him to lash out wildly at anything getting too close to it.

"I have to help him," the blond feebly started looking at his guardian holding his head in agony.

"I would warn you that this is incredibly dangerous and tell you to go back to the hospital, but I have this impression that you won't listen and will go down there anyway," the woman asserted.

"You got that right, "the blond Uzumaki cheekily sniggered.

"I had a hunch, so I came prepared," She said, pulling out a gas mask from her pack handing it to the smaller blond.

"It's better to be safe than sorry, right, and I got your back; just stay close to me since your still injured. I'll give you an opening to get closer" The young Uzumaki and the mysterious lady both put on the masks as Tohru and Tyrunt made sure their trainers weren't being followed.

"By the way, my name's Naruto, and this is Tohru" He quickly introduced himself and the dragoness beside him as they followed the taller blond.

"Hello, Naruto, I'm Cynthia, now let's go help your friend" she directed her ace Pokémon toward the center of the battlefield.

"Garchomp, use Draco Meteor, make an opening!" Garchomp's body becomes surrounded by an orange aura. It tilts its head towards the sky and fires a white ball of atmosphere, surrounded by a light-orange glow. Then the ball explodes in the sky and sends multiple orange rocks with a light-orange light in the center and a white and light-orange aura surrounding the stones, and the rocks fall towards the ground, hitting the opponent's Pokémon from multiple sides.

The shower of meteors caught the enemy by surprise as they dispersed in different directions to get away from the explosions.

"Go now, Naruto, this is your chance!" Cynthia hollered toward the blond as he hobbled toward the Psychic legendary, still clutching its head in pain.

"Thanks, Cynthia, Let's go, Tohru" the dragoness faithfully stayed beside the blond child the whole way, blasting 'Dragon Breaths' whenever she saw an enemy trainer or Pokémon get too close to her trainer.

"Nova, can you hear me? It's me, Naruto! "the blond is trying to get closer.

"No, you don't, Tropius use Leaf Storm!" a grunt shouted from inside the smoke. The grass type raising its leaf wings began to flap as hundreds upon thousands of glowing leaves sprouted out, all began to spin a twister-like formation before razing them upon the child, but failed as a stream of flames incinerated the leaves before they got to close.

The Endurance hobbled its way through the smoke skidding in front of the child, glaring daggers at the grunt, making trainer and Pokémon step back scared.

"Thanks, Tohru, now Fire Blast 'em!" the shiny dragon exhaled a roaring fireball that took the form of a Fire Kanji, blasting them away instantly.

The blond sprinted closer toward Nova again, but a blue barrier repelled the blond from getting closer to the Genetic Pokémon. The blond's eyes started to glow a pure cerulean color, and his body glows light blue. Naruto began to emit a powerful aura in waves as the blond's body burned almost white as he radiated some much aura (just like the series of Naruto has a lot of chakra. He has a lot of aura too).

"Nova come on!" he cried as he finally forced his way through the barrier, caging the Genetic Pokémon. The blond child quickly grabbed onto the huge gray Pokémon tightly.

"Naruto," the feline-like Pokémon weakly gazed at the blond.

"I'm here, and we're gonna go home together" Naruto touched foreheads with the legendary, forcing his way into the genetic Pokémons mind.

As long as your around…you will never find happiness.

A dark, sadistic voice rang in the genetic Pokémon's head again, as it had for a countless number of times before. Pale, violet eyes shot open, struggling to see the source of the sound – knowing all too well that his efforts would be futile. Ever since he was created– he refused to call it for what it was, thinking it would only make the memory stronger –this dark, cruel, and sinister voice echoed through his mind whenever she had moments of lucidity and peace. When there were times, it could imagine himself far from here, safe, and happy.

The Pokémon yelled as it inhaled sharply when he suddenly felt the indescribable pain on his left shoulder. The pain was new and far worse than anything he ever has experienced in that horrible place. Her weak, fragile body fell back on her futon as she writhed in agony. She could not even find her voice to scream out for help – the only thing she could do was endure the pain until darkness overtook her mind and body.

You will never be able to get rid of me...

He curled his knees close and buried his face in them, placing his paws on both of his ears in an attempt to block the voices out – but his effort was futile. Crystal clear, it was making her remember those memories that he wished severely to forget.

A blinding light. A maniacal chuckle. Screams. Other people's screams. Screams. Blood. Cursing. Explosions. Pitch black.

And no one ever cared.

He shut his eyes tightly, breathing heavily until he was hyperventilating, his whole body trembling in fear of those memories that haunted him every waking moment.

He had always been weak.

He had always been easy to break.

No one will ever be able to save you from me.

"Nova"

The large gray Pokémon looked up to the small child as he bent down to its level and patted his head in comfort before pointing onto the darkness as it showed the child's memories for the past like a picture show.

~With everyone's attention focused on him, the boy took off, sprinting in the opposite direction – not looking back so he wouldn't have to see the heartless stares he was getting from the villagers.

"Hn. The boy deserved it. He shouldn't be allowed at the festival in the first place."

"All he did was ruin the fun. He'll never be part of this village. Ever."

"He's a monster who needs to vanish for good."

A saddened look was pasted on his boyish face as he bravely made his way to the small shelter he made in the woods.

Even though he was deep in the woods alone, he could still hear the liveliness of the festival, and the sounds depressed him more than ever.

They kicked him out again from a celebration in his village.

They loathed his presence.

They wanted him to vanish.

The only thing Naruto could do was to bear the brunt of what they said, even though it hurt terribly. He thought about it all the time. He wondered why people despised him as they did. Why they wanted him gone? Why couldn't he grow up normally like other kids?

With parents…

With friends…

With people to accept him…

Why did everyone treat him like a monster?

"It is beneath us to become involved with a monster." The man's voice echoed in his head. In his mind, he could see those apathetic eyes glaring coldly down at him. He didn't know who the man was, but it didn't matter because he could tell he was just like all the others. The man hated him and wished he were gone.

Suddenly, a teardrop rolled down his whiskered cheek… and then another one, followed by a third. Soon, he was trying his hardest to keep himself from crying uncontrollably. He just knelt there as he finished gathering some fallen acorns into his small ripped pouch, the tears silently flowing down his whiskered face.

"I tried to ignore the hateful whispers as I walked by people, but it simply wasn't possible because they echoed all around me. I tried to keep my head held high, but, on the inside, I was unable to hide the fact that I was crying," the blond said as he smiled sadly at the Psychic-type.

"Their eyes were burning into my back, and I didn't know how much longer I could take their hated stares. I felt so small, so weak, and instead of anger building up my chest, it was fear" Naruto clutched his fist angrily.

Before Mewtwo could say anything, Naruto pulled it into a tight hug. "I promise you; I'm going to be strong someday so that I can protect you remember?"

"I see. . . I guess we are more alike than I thought," Mewtwo said, a feeling of acceptance washed over him. He was somewhat breathless that he would go so far and make such a bold statement – especially for a failed experiment.

"It's my promise of a lifetime, Nova. And my nindō is that I never break a promise and never go back on my word. Believe it!" Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the duo rose onto their feet.

"Alright, alright…ready to go what how do we get out of here?" the child asked, bewildered.

"Don't worry; this is my mind. I can exert as much control as I want. Since I'm more in control, we can leave just as we came in," Nova affirmed.

"Wow, really?!" the blond said in awe.

"Yes, as a matter of fact, since my body is pretty weak right now, you should do the honors" The Genetic Pokémon nodded toward the child.

"What? Me?!" looking at the Psychic legendary like he was crazy.

"Yes, think as this another lesson in controlling your powers. I think I taught my apprentice very well over the years," The legendary stated, smirking down at the young Uzumaki as Naruto beamed in pride at the Psychic Legendary.

"Just take a deep breath and concentrated," The Pokémon advised as the blond then shut his eyes to focus as he brings his hands together for good measure. He feared messing up by accident.

"Go back, go back, he thought hard. Go back- "

He started when he felt the mindscape fading away.

A ringing noise got louder and louder in his ears, and he gritted his teeth until it suddenly stopped. His eyes snapped open just as the blinding light dispersed rapidly, and he and Nova fell to the ground.

Naruto's eyes fluttered, and he looked up at the sky through the damaged roof of the stadium. It was clear; they got out, it must have worked. Naruto noticed that most of the smog was gone, and Cynthia seemed like she rounded up and all the bad guys.

He groaned as he picked himself up off the ground. "Nova!" he exclaimed as he saw his friend lying unresponsive next to him. He quickly pulled the Pokémon into his arms before scanning his friend in mounting panic.

The blond noticing the Syncing stone was still attached to Nova's shoulder. The blond clutched onto the stone tightly and pulled with all his might. The blond even used his aura to add strength in rescuing his friend from the discomfort.

"Come on, you stupid rock!" the blond yelled, trying to yank out the stone with everything he got.

One of the scientists that were still tied up yelled out, suddenly spotting what the blond was trying to do.

"You fool, if you touch the stone without the right equipment, you could fuse with the stone and lose your mind!"

The crystal disappeared after Naruto infused enough of his aura into the gem, making it shattered. Naruto was starting to pant heavily after using so much of his powers in protecting his friend. Nova's more corrupt form was beginning to fade and go back to normal after a few moments.

Nova finally rose from the ground back to normal before facing his 'hero' then and struck the blond over the head before nagging the child of doing something once again so dangerous and stupid. Naruto huffed, crossing his arms after called his best friend 'ungrateful' after saving his life. Tohru rushed over to cuddle the blond lovingly. She was happy that he was okay before returning her to her Pokéball to rest.

The quickly blond got back to his feet to stand before a desperate hot wave had come over him. Naruto cried out in anguish as a surge of darkness consumed his limbs and soon infected his entire body in no time. He felt like his heart was beating rapidly in panic.

"NARUTO/NARUTO!" Mewtwo and Cynthia shouted as the child fell to the ground holding his arm in agony as the dark substance latched onto the blond instead of looking for a new host.

The urgency for air was more apparent than ever. The child's entire body is throbbing. His lungs feel as though they've been set on fire. Slowly, black begins to seep in at the edge of my vision. Naruto tries to open his mouth to breathe, but nothing came out. Then, ever so slowly, everything faded away.

The blond thinking, to himself that he didn't want to die like this, but it was too hard to try to fight, so he let the darkness take over him. It was all black.

A nudge to my ribs makes me jerk awake to see Hikari's concerned face and Morgan's smiling face. "How long was I out? I hope it wasn't long," the blond asked, wiping the sweat from his temples. "Hikari woke you up because you looked like you were in pain." Hikari came to the blond's side rubbing her cheek against his palm to make sure he was okay.

'I hope my Shadow Aura wasn't noticeable.'

'I don't think she noticed, Naruto,' Nova asserted. Naruto saw Morgan sipping her tea calmly with a smile as if nothing happened. A tray of sweets and a variety of drinks was arranged just for the duo inside the limo.

"How much longer?" the blond asked, picking some water on the try in front of the pair.

"It shouldn't be much longer now. Jarvis said, at least another 20 minutes before we get to the Cyllage Hotel where you were still resting," She beamed as she added more sugar to her teacup. Hikari went back to inhaling more snacks in front of her.

The blond smiled before leaning back into the leather cushions tiredly while looking out of the fancy limousine window spotting a huge bike ramp to the east.

After their battle yesterday, the blond main priority was to heal Hikari fully. Thankfully the Battle Chateau had an automatic healing station, so they wouldn't have to stop by the Pokémon Center so late.

Morgan insisted for Naruto spent the night in one of the luxurious rooms inside the Battle Chateau before they left early in the morning before the sun even rose over the horizon.

Hikari's face was abruptly squashed against the dark glass as she smiled as they rode by the ocean, looking at the waves crashing against the sand.

The blond smirking spotting Hikari's eyes were sparkling in excitement as she looked at the ocean.

"Hey, Morgan, me and Hikari are going to the beach, is that okay?"

"What about your gym battle?" Jarvis exclaimed after stopping at a red light on the road

"We'll get it before the day ends, just want to take a look around the city a bit"

"I don't see a problem with that. How about we meet at the Pokémon Café by the Cyllage Hotel in a couple of hours, is that okay with you?" she asked while looked at her wristwatch.

"Yeah, that's cool" he nodded after the limo pulled up by the side of the cliff to let the blond out. The blond hopped out as Hikari hovered toward the empty beach.

"I hope you won't be too bored" the blond felt a bit guilty, leaving them while they came all this way to watch his battle.

"It's no problem. I thought I would do some shopping. I need to update my wardrobe a bit" Morgan chuckled as Naruto gave Jarvis a pitiful look; it looks like he is going to be a Mudbray today and carry bags all day.

"I'll see you later, have fun" Morgan waved as she rolled up the window before the slick vehicle drove off into the city.

"I'm relieved I didn't tag along now" the blond grinned as he ran to catch up to Hikari.

The teen immediately spotted Hikari nearby playing in the sand, trying to build a castle. The blond decides to sit down on some rocks and watch over as she played on the beach. The teen looked to the sky, noticing a few Wingulls passing by.

The blond's eyes were moving from sand to stone, from rock pools to breaking waves. In the gentle spring sunshine, he felt as if he were swimming in the salty aroma as if the new rays of the day brought a frisson of energy to his fingertips.

'Are you okay now, Naruto?' he heard Nova telepathically. His smile dissolved as he opened his eyes. He sadly gazed down, clenching his fist.

'I'm fine. I have been trying not to think about it too much' the blond slowly shut his sapphire blue eyes as the gentle gust of wind brushed his tan skin and swayed his long spiky blond hair.

'I'm sorry,' Nova stated, referring to the blond's constant headaches and a curse.

'Hey now, don't you dare beat yourself over this okay' he glared into the sky.

"You know it was all Team Cipher fault for messing with shit that doesn't belong to them" the teen's eyes flashed crimson for a second.

'Language' Naruto eventually noticing Hikari close by waving at him in excitement as she made new friends from a Krabby and a few Shellders buried in the dunes. The blond waved back with a grin as she played.

'Sorry, but it's true' He looked up at the sky, and his thoughts began to wander like the clouds moving across it.

'Yes, but it was also my misjudgment thinking I could stop the stone on my own without assistance,' Mewtwo blaming his inability.

'Well, I think it's both our faults on that one, hey at least you wiped those assholes memories before Cynthia took those losers to jail' Naruto smirked.

'Yes, we don't need another reason an evil organization would after us' Nova started rolling his eyes from the blonds' carefree attitude.

"Lee! Stop running so fast, what's the rush?!" a female voice yelled out.

"I need more time to train my body and revive my flames of youth!" a green blur hollered, running at top speed. All the blond could see was a vast dust cloud getting closer.

"What in the. . .Hikari come here quick! I think a crazy green dust storm is coming our way!" The tiny Fire-type quickly flew inside her dads' cloak to hide from the storm.

"Hah this is a perfect spot to start my daily exercises! We won't leave this beach until we do 50 laps up and down this cove. Isn't that right, Hitmonlee!" A teen yelled out at the sky as a humanoid Pokémon with an oval body with almond-shaped eyes with black space around them. The Pokémon was primarily brown. It had cream-colored, segmented arms and legs. Its feet and ankles' soles have circular, yellow pads—the Fighting-type Pokémon yelling out with the weird green blur.

The blond thought the boy had the worst sense of fashion in his life. His hair is now in a bowl-cut style, wearing a green jumpsuit, orange leg warmers, and a red belt holding his Pokéballs. He also has bandages around his forearms up to his fingers.

The blond thought he should quietly sneak away from this weird character, but luck wasn't on his side as both the teen and Pokémon locked eyes with him.

The weird boy had shiny black hair, round eyes with prominent lower eyelashes, and very thick eyebrows that made the blond shivered in fear.

'They look like bushy black Burmy's on his face,' the blond thought, freaked out from this kid's gaze.

"Hello! Youthful traveler, are you thinking of training here as well?!" the crazy teen asks, getting too close to the Uzumaki's personal space.

"uh sure..." Naruto cautiously replied while backing up a bit.

"Lee! Cut it out! Why do you think the people at the Pokémon Center were inching away from you when you were yelling in their faces for a battle!" a girl with buns in her hair shrieked, jerking the green freak back a few feet.

"I'm so sorry about his behavior. He still needs to learn about boundaries," the girl said in embarrassment. The blond additionally noticed a Farfetch'd lagging along with the girl.

"It's okay," the blond said, waving the green wearing teens weird greeting.

"YOSHHHH! MY NAME IS ROCK LEE. IT'S A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU!" Lee bowed, lowing in greeting before the girl once again pulled the green beast away by the ear.

"I'm Tenten," she said with a smile and a wave as she pulled Lee by the ear. Tenten had dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing her hair in two Chinese-style buns on her head and sporting a pink sleeveless qipao-style blouse with dark green pants.

"I'm Naruto. Nice to meet you guys too," he said with a tiny smile before pulled out his Pokédex to the two Pokémon.

Hitmonlee: Kicking Pokémon: Hitmonlee's legs freely contract and stretch. Using these spring like legs, it bowls over foes with devastating kicks. After the battle, it rubs down its legs and loosens the muscles to overcome fatigue.

Abilities: Limber/Reckless

This Hitmonlee is Male and registered to Rock Lee.

The blond then turned toward the light brown duck next.

Farfetch'd: Wild Duck Pokémon: They use a plant stalk as a weapon, but not all of them use it in the same way. Several distinct styles of stalk fighting have been observed.

Abilities: Keen Eye

This Farfetch'd is Male and registered to Tenten.

"I don't mean to pry or anything but are you new here? We've been here for a week coming to this beach every morning but never seen anyone around until at least noon?" the girl questioned.

"Oh, I'm here visiting with a few friends in battling the Cyllage City gym leader" the blond shrugged his shoulders, thinking the pair seemed harmless enough in telling them half the truth.

"Yosh! I see the flames of your youth are burning quite brightly!" He replied loudly before Tenten jerked him back again.

"Oh, you're here to battle Grant; you look like a trainer. Well, good luck; he's pretty tough. Lee just finished battling him a couple of days ago."

"Are you both earning gym badges?" the blond asked.

"Not me exactly, I'm just tagging along" smiled sheepishly. "My objective is to catch as many weapon-wielding Pokémon I can. That's my goal!" the girl said with stars in her eyes. "Pokémon weapons are so cool!"

"My dream is to be a Fighting-Type Specialist just like my great Master Guy Sensei!" he said with the eyes igniting in flames. The bowl haired teen then turned sharply to lock eyes with the blond, making the Uzumaki a bit nervous.

"Those are very nice dreams, well would you look at the time, I should be on my way" the blond was going trying to escape, but the green wearing teen blocked his way before he could leave.

"Naruto, how about a battle! Show me how hard work you worked, and that you can prevail! Show me! THE POWER! OF YOUR YOUTH!" the flames still burning in the green spandex wearing teen.

"Really. . ." he muttered before shutting his eyes while clutching his temple. It felt like a migraine was coming on. "You won't leave me alone if I don't right agree, right," the blond asked, already knowing the answer.

"Yes!" the blond sweat dropped at the kid's pure honesty before groaning.

"Fine, just one, okay, I have to meet up with my friends" the blond sighed, trekking after the hyperactive teen. Tenten patted the blond on the back in conform as she muttered a soft 'sorry' to him before she followed suit.

Tenten sat down on a rock on the sidelines, Lee and Naruto stood in the middle of an open sandy area of the beach so no one would be bothered.

"Let's just do one on one battle, okay," Naruto called out.

"Yes! Let's our flames of youth burn strongly!" Lee shouted out as he called his Hitmonlee upfront.

"Yeah … sure. Go, Ame!" Naruto called out his trusty Frogadier. Ame was up and ready for a fight.

"Ame, Water Pulse!" the frog creates a blue sphere of energy from in between its hands before firing the sphere of water at the fighting type.

"Hitmonlee, Hi Jump Kick!" evading the incoming wave of water with a high jump to the sky, Hitmonlee readied a high-powered leg thrust.

"Quick Attack, now!" the Bubble Frog dodged with an unbelievable speed that makes it almost invisible. The Fighting-type took the total aftereffect of the impact from the kick, "Follow up with another Water Pulse!" at point-blank, Hitmonlee was blasted back by the orb of water that quickly exploded into a tidal wave.

The Fighting-type let the current take him until they sunk into the sands and a complete stop, "You alright?" Lee asked.

Hitmonlee rose and shook its head several times in an attempt to calm its confused state. The Fighting-type nodded in response, giving himself a hard slap and snapping his senses to a mediocre level.

"Ame, Pound!" Naruto ordered, and Ame darted straight ahead at surprising speeds, "Hitmonlee, counter with Brick Break" Lee quickly declared. Despite its slightly disoriented line of sight, the Kicking Pokémon acknowledged his trainer's orders.

With legs glowing white, Hitmonlee struck twice; the force of the first kick countered the Water-type's fist from getting closer but was instantly stopped. The second kick landed in the frog's gut knocking it back a few feet.

"Now use Rolling Kick" Hitmonlee sprinted forward, legs ready for a roundhouse kick.

"Ame, dodge it with Water Pulse!" spewing the stream variation of said attack, Ame boosted himself away from the flying kicks.

"Well played, Naruto but, we're just getting started, Hitmonlee use Focus Energy!"

Hitmonlee stomped its legs on the sands and focused its inner energy throughout his body, outlining him in a blue aura. Through this, he was able to regain his senses and snap out of confusion.

"Be careful Ame, any of his attacks could do serious damage if we're not careful. You ready?" Ame nodded in response to his trainer's advice.

"Pick up speed with Quick Attack and Water Pulse!" Naruto commanded.

Taking a knee before bursting off at an astonishing speed, Ame launched himself towards several areas surrounding his opponent, increasing his speed with bursts of water from both his palms. Hitmonlee continued to channel all of his 'Focused Energy' while waiting for orders, "Don't worry, Hitmonlee, just keep it up and wait for an opening" Lee yelled out while keeping a close eye on the now blurred frog.

"Now! Hitmonlee, use Low Kick!" moving to the left with a heel burst full of force, Hitmonlee sent the kick flying as Ame rushed in.

Naruto grinned and extended his index finger, "Up top!" Ame gave a last-second stream of water, which launched himself skyward and allowing Hitmonlee kicked large quantities of sand away.

"Alright, let's hit 'em with Ice Beam" the Bubble Frog stopped her boost and charged a glowing cerulean orb, which dramatically grew in size.

"Hitmonlee, get ready" Lee warned. The Fighting-type backflipped several feet before applying pressure to its spring-like legs.

Ame was firing the ray of ice particles at the Fighting-type, "Hi Jump Kick, now!" Hitmonlee released the built-up pressure and jumped high into the sky, narrowly avoiding the frosty ray beams.

Naruto went wide-eyed, "Ame, Double Team now!" he shouted as Ame swiftly creates illusionary copies of itself, as Hitmonlee once again took a critical hit from his missed attack and was sent crashing down into the sands below.

"Alright Ame!" cheered Naruto.

"Hitmonlee, are you okay?" he asked in a worrisome tone rushing towards his downed teammate. The Kicking Pokémon's eyes fluttered open, shooting his partner a thumbs up.

"Your flames of youth are burning strongly, Hitmonlee!" giving him room to stand, "Down but not out, Hitmonlee use Bulk Up!" following orders, the fighting type brown body shined a rich red color as his strength grew.

"We can't let him grow even stronger, Quick Attack!"

Naruto backed up even further as he watched the Ame dash towards Fighting-Type, Ame's body becomes outlined in a light blue aura, and it charges at the Kicking fiend with incredible speeds.

"Hitmonlee, Double Kick!" Lee snapped, grinning when he saw his partner rapidly dodge the frog's speedy tackle to get above the water type. Hitmonlee forcibly lifted with his right leg following. Ame was tossed into the air and then nailed twice with powerful kicks, the sounds like stones colliding together with each powerful hit against the hard covering of the Bubble Frog. Ame was pushed back by the second kick, flying down the side of the dune, tumbling almost two meters down before its webbed feet dug into the soft sand.

"Ame!" Naruto cried in concern. "Ame are you okay?" Ame whimpered, shakily getting back onto its feet.

'Those two kicks— just two! — nearly destroyed it. Lee trained his Hitmonlee well'. The blond thought impressed.

Ame noticed his opponent getting closer. He gazed over to his trainer, who gave him a reassuring nod. Just as Hitmonlee was mere feet away, "Ame, use Icy Wind!" the Bubble Frog blows out a gust of wind with sparkling blue snow in the Fighting-types face. The icy wind was decreasing its speed dramatically.

This, however, caused Hitmonlee to stumble back, "Now your chance, use Winter Pulse!" declared the blonde trainer. Ame boosted himself with his Water Pulse and tackled his opponent, but not before hardening his body with his previous Icy Wind; Hitmonlee was forced back, arching forward while clutching his abdomen.

"Ame, finish 'em with Surf!"

"Hitmonlee, get out of there!"

Ame's body expelled an azure aura before raising his arms and slamming them back down, the seawater from behind infused with the blue frog's water attack making the waves split apart the sands as it fractured the ground and dug around the sand surrounding Hitmonlee. Soon massive waves arose higher to push and then crashed down, engulfing the Hitmonlee in an extraordinary attack ending the battle in the form of water, turbulent and unforgiving.

"Hitmonlee!" Lee shouted as he watched his Pokémon crash down, soaked to the bone and shivering with swirl-eyes.

Tenten was wide-eyed as she applauded both Trainers, witnessing a spectacular battle that few could ever win against. In the meantime, Naruto and Lee attended to their teammates, "Ame, you did it!" said Naruto, as he knelt, patting his shoulder proudly in victory.

"We did the best we could, Hitmonlee, but I guess it wasn't enough... guess you know what that means-" Hitmonlee gave a weak nod and a thumbs up, "MORE TRAINING!" shouted Lee with fiery determination in his eyes.

"And Naruto, you are also my other new archrival! I won't quit until I win against you one day!" shouted Lee with fiery resolve.

'I have the strangest feeling I'm not the one this whack job proclaimed this too,' the blond thought wearily.

Faraway in a different region, a teen with familiar lavender eyes, fair skin, and long brown hair gave out a loud sneeze, and then ominous sensing shivered up his spine for some unknown reason.

After the blonde balled his team, the two teenagers offered to lead the blond to the Pokémon Center to heal his teammates.

The tiny café huddled despondent among the huge city buildings. The half a dozen customers glanced up as the door swung open. Unlike the outside, the interior of the café was warm and cheery, with bright lights and colorful walls. The customers returned to their conversations as the door swung closed behind.

Morgan was enjoying a cup of coffee outside on the patio after her long shopping trip. Jarvis went to fetch the limo as she waited for Naruto to arrive. Before the green-haired woman could take another sip from her drink, a shadow loomed over her head, blocking her sunlight. She glanced up, recognizing the young blond looking a bit on edge, and grinned at his tense expression.

"Having fun?" she giggled playfully.

"Yeah, having a ball," he grumbled before landing headfirst onto the white plastic table in front of her, exhausted. Luckily Hikari was invisible on top of the blond's head so that she wouldn't be squashed from the Uzumaki's faceplant.

"Oh, it can't be that bad" Morgan waved off his mood like he was exaggerating when she spotted the limo pulling up while Jarvis was opening the door for them.

"Your right, it's worst, but just you see for yourself in due time," Naruto chuckled wearily.

When the limousine pulled up in front of the Gym, Naruto spotted the green nightmare waving very dramatically, making the pedestrians run away in fear as Tenten looked away in embarrassment.

"NARUTO! OVER HERE!"

"I can see you just fine, Lee," he muttered and groaned as he walked over to the pair.

"I didn't know you were rich, Naruto?" Tenten as she looked back to the fancy car.

"Oh, that's my friend's car; here she comes right now," the blond nodded back at the shiny car.

Both the teen's mouths were wide open as they noticed a fair-skinned woman with knee-length green hair, long white sleeve spring dress with white high heels step out of the fancy vehicle with the help of what looked like her butler.

"Lee, Tenten, this is my friend Morgan" the blond presented the older woman "Morgan, this is Rock Lee and Tenten, the ones that I told you about," he pointed to the gaping teens.

"Yes, it's very nice to meet you two," give the pair a sunny smile.

"You're Morgan, the leader of the Battle Chatelaine of the Battle Maison! I can't believe I'm meeting you in the flesh!" Tenten fangirl shrieked a bit, making Naruto and Lee step back a bit.

Tenten brought out her issue of Pokémon Battle magazine from her side pouch, showing Lee and Naruto. On the front cover was the Battle Chatelaine sisters, which consist of her, Dana, Evelyn, and Nita posing for the camera.

"Oh, that old thing. I old did that shot to appease the press. The press was always calling for an interview, but I finally gave in that day and did the shoot." The woman shrugged like it wasn't a big deal being famous.

"How come you were so secretive when we first meant instead of just telling me who you were?" the blond questioned with a small glared

"Oh, don't pay attention to the small stuff; I here to cheer you on, remember," she beamed as she hugged the blond close and ruffled his long locks. She then looked over the star-struck teens.

"I hope you guys cheer loudly for our favorite blond," she beamed.

"Y-yes ma'am, of course, we will," Tenten replied nervously, trying her best to maintain her cool in front of this famous and influential strong trainer.

"YOSH! LET YOUR FLAMES OF YOUTH BURN BRIGHTLY NARUTO!" Lee shouted toward the sky in passion.

When making it inside, the group first noticed a large cave containing an underground waterfall. A large, rocky hill takes up the center of the Gym, which is covered in rock walls that the player must climb to reach the top.

The gym official stated the challenger must climb to the top themselves without any assistance. The assistant guided the group to an elevator connecting to the rock wall. Lee's eyes burned in desire to once again to climb the rock wall with the Uzumaki to beat his previous time, but Tenten hauled him away before he could leap onto the wall.

As his friend walked away, Naruto looked up the tall rock wall and thought this way of challenging a gym leader was kind of ridiculous and dangerous, mainly if the trainer wasn't in the best of psychical shape or may fall from such a high height.

Hikari poked her head out to stare out in awe at the towering wall.

'I bet Grant has a good attorney if that ever does happen,' the blond chuckled as he made his way up the slope in record time. Once the blond made it to the top, he walked toward the earthy type battlefield to meet the gym leader.

The gym leader Grant has dark skin, black hair, and greyish eyes. He wears three stones in his hair, colored yellow, red, and blue. He wears a simple black shirt, grey pants, and black shoes and carries the climbing equipment on his neck and around his hips.

"Naruto, welcome, I've been waiting for, since we meet at the Battle Chateau," he recalled

"Yeah, I've also been waiting," Naruto nodded back.

"Good, then let's get this party started."

"The Cyllage City's Gym battle will now begin! Each trainer will use two Pokémon . . . If the challenger's or the gym leader's Pokémon are unable to battle, this match will be over. During the battle, only the challenger will be allowed to substitute Pokémon." The referee laid down the rules.

"Okay then, ready, Naruto?" Grant asked.

"Yep," Naruto, grinned.

"Then I choose . . . Aurorus!" with a beam of white light from the Pokéball, a quadrupedal, dinosaurian Pokémon that resembles a sauropod. It was primarily blue with a light blue underside. It has bright blue eyes, a long neck, and a long, tapering tail with a teardrop-shaped tip. On its head is a V-shaped white marking with a single, light blue crystal in the center. Two large, flowing sails extend from the top of its head and run down the length of its neck.

Naruto pulled out his Pokédex towards the ice dinosaur.

Aurorus: Tundra Pokémon: Aurorus was restored from a fossil. It's said that when this Pokémon howls, auroras appear in the night sky. When gripped by rage, Aurorus will emanate freezing air, covering everything around it in ice.

Abilities: Refrigerate

This Aurorus is Male and registered to Grant.

"Okay, then . . . let's go, Neon!" Naruto sent forth his Eevee, while Hikari left the teens to cloak still invisible and settled by the boy's shoulder.

"What is he doing? Naruto should have brought out his Frogadier. It would have had a major advantage over Aurorus since it's a half Rock-type?" Tenten thought, puzzled.

"I bet Naruto has a plan already set to counter this. Let us watch and see" the green-haired woman smiled.

"An interesting choice; Aurorus use the Ancient Power" the Tundra Pokémon's body glowed white as she forms silver spiraling rocks and shoots it at the stammered Evolution Pokémon.

"Neon, let's keep sharp, Quick Attack!" yelled the blond.

Neon shot forward, a trail like a starlight following her as she headed straight for the Aurorus. Aurorus quickly jumped over, and while in midair, Grant gave his command.

"Aurorus, Body Slam!"

Aurorus twisted its body and headed straight for Neon, who had stopped her Quick Attack once she saw Aurorus go airborne. Still, Neon was quick enough to dance away from the earth-shattering Body Slam.

"Your Eevee is fast," Grant commented with a smile.

"So is your Aurorus. Good thing I heard some rumors about that Aurorus of yours from Lee." Naruto returned. His face smoothed into a determined mask, and he directed his Eevee.

"Neon, Boost Dash!" Naruto directed, and his Eevee shot forward without question.

'Boost Dash?' everyone was confused by the strange command. Grant watched with intrigue as he tried to figure out the meaning behind the order to 'Boost Dash.' It appeared to him that Naruto's Pokémon were all full of surprises and that the boy trained them in unconventional ways that would catch any trainer off guard. And, to some extent, even Gym Leaders. The Eevee Naruto called Neon darted around the field, dodging his Aurorus. The little Eevee would either nimbly dodge Aurorus until the more massive Pokémon got angry and frustrated and started to chase it. It was a testament to Naruto's ability as a trainer that his Aurorus had yet to land a hit on the quick, agile little Eevee.

"Aurorus, Ice Beam, freeze it in its tracks!" Aurorus opens its mouth, and a light blue ball form in front of its mouth, then fires blue freezing beams at the little ball of fur. Naruto countered with a "Go over!"

As a ray of ice erupted from Aurorus's mouth, Eevee utilized some supreme leg power to jump over it with a bit of flair— if she'd gone under or tried to dart to the side, there was a good chance she'd still have been struck from the ice-cold beams.

Still, it left the Eevee airborne even as Aurorus quit with his Ice Beam. "Aurorus, use Stone Edge!" Grant shouted as Aurorus forms white circles of energy, which quickly become sharp gray stones. It then fires them at his opponent.

"No, Neon!" Naruto cried as his Eevee was slammed into the rocks by the Aurorus and sent hurtling back to the ground. Luckily, Neon landed on all fours, though she crouched in pain as she considered her injured flank.

"Aurorus, use Hyper Beam!" Grant shouted as Aurorus fires a dark purple and black beam of energy from its mouth towards Neon.

"Neon, dodge with Quick Attack!" Naruto commanded. Neon shot forward again, doe brown eyes glinting in determination, as she dodged and weaved out of the way, but still took some damage from the blasts as it even sent Neon tumbling back with a cry of pain.

"Neon! Can you stand, girl?" Naruto asked frantically.

Neon breathed out, rising to all fours and glaring at the Aurorus.

"Body Slam Aurorus, she doesn't have much left." Grant declared. Aurorus jumped forward with a cry, its whole body twisting back for a hit.

"Dig!" Naruto cried out, alarmed as Aurorus slammed down its whole body almost immediately afterward, slabs of rock rose like a barricade around Neon. The Pokémon was wholly hidden from sight. Naruto grit his teeth, glaring at the Pokémon across from him.

"There's no use hiding from us, Freeze-Dry Aurorus!" the ice dinosaur cried out as it released gusts of cold air from its sails, transforming the entire battlefield into a chilly tundra.

"Is it just me, or is it getting colder?" Tenten shivered, gazing down at their feet; one would notice the thin layers of ice coating the whole terrain, creating audible snaps and cracks with each step.

"THIS IS SUCH AN AMAZING BATTLE; MY YOUTHFUL FLAMES ARE BURNING!" Lee was shouting eagerly.

"At least your warm, brr... it's amazing how cold it got just in a matter of seconds," the girl said, shivering, trying to stay warm.

Gazing down at their feet, one would notice the thin layers of ice coating the earthy terrain, creating audible snaps and cracks with each step.

'Eevee couldn't stay down there for too long . . . time to try something out then!' Grant thought while inspecting the field. Aurorus likewise glanced around, trying to find the tiny fluff ball until it noticed a few cracks in the ice off to the far left.

"There she is, Body Slam max power!" Grant ordered as the living fossil leaped on top of a rock to get higher into the air before dispersing, allowing the ice type to perform a high-altitude Body Slam.

'Wait for it,' Naruto commanded his Eevee, who waited before doing what was told still underground.

As the Ice-type let gravity do its work, Naruto could only stare at the sauropod descending self.

"Iron Tail!" Naruto commanded

Grant gasped in dismay as Neon sprung up from the ground, ice and rock exploding from around her as she somersaulted in midair to let her tail, which glowed white hitting the dead center of Aurorus unprotected abdomen. Aurorus doubled over the impact, unfortunately still standing but then again, everyone could see the struggle evident on his face.

"Aurorus zap her with Thunderbolt!" blitzing a weak stream of electricity, it managed to push through a shadowy orb and towards his smaller opponent.

"Neon dodge with Dig!" acknowledging, the shiny Pokémon dug back underground and let the bolts of lightning pass overhead. The Normal-Type then shot back up and rammed Aurorus in its face, who was looking down in confusion. He was then caught off guard by the constant attacks from different directions from below.

"Come on, Aurorus, use Thunderbolt!"

"Counter with Shadow Ball!"

Aurorus fumed as sparks blitzing from his blue body while Neon charged an orb of malicious energy; both fired their respected moves. The specters watched in awe as both attacks fought for dominance, "You can do it, Aurorus!" the dinosaur increased his electrical output and forced the Shadow Ball back a few inches, "Neon fight back with Shadow Strom!" Naruto declared.

"Shadow Strom?" Lee and Tenten asked themselves, many wondering the same thing.

Neon's opened her mouth wide as her Shadow Ball and rapidly fired multiple, smaller, yet weaker variant s of the original. The Shadow Ball grew and pushed back into place as Neon continued to fire more Shadow Balls into the ever-growing sphere of destruction. Soon enough, the density of both attacks hit maximum power and went unstable. It was causing the battle's second explosion.

The numerous dark spheres slammed the ice fossil to the ground, canceling his assault and creating a dust cloud. The dust cleared to show Aurorus's unconscious form, "Winner by knockout, Naruto and Neon!" the referee announced, Naruto's group burst into cheers.

"Now that's how it's done!" he smirked as Neon puffing out her chest in pride from her victory as she walked over to the blond human. The blond rubbed the shiny Eevees head as she scoffed, turning away like she didn't enjoy the Uzumaki's soft strokes.

Grant sighs, "Guess this round goes to you-" taking his Poke ball, he returned her Rock/Ice type, "Take a long rest, you deserve it," he spoke as he watched his blonde opponent congratulate his Pokémon.

'I got to say he's impressive,' Grant thought.

"Ready for the next round-"

"Huh? Oh right, ready for another go?" Naruto asks; Neon glanced back at Grant and nodded. He smiled and let his partner walk back to the arena, "Ready when you are," the teen motioned.

"Tyrunt, I choose you!"

Out of the bright light came a bipedal, dinosaurian Pokémon that resembles a large theropod. Its body is grayish-brown with a small hump on its back, and its belly and lower jaw are a lighter gray.

Naruto pulled out his Pokédex towards the T-Rex looking Pokémon.

Tyrunt: Royal Heir Pokémon: This is an ancient Pokémon, revived in modern times. It has a violent disposition, and it'll tear apart anything it gets between its hefty jaws. This Pokémon is selfish and likes to be pampered. It can also inflict grievous wounds on its trainer just by playing around.

Abilities: Strong Jaw

This Tyrunt is Male and registered to Grant.

"Let's start this off, right?" Grant asked in a low tone, getting a growl in answer from his primary partner. "Get her! Crunch!" Tyrunt bounded off at an impressive speed, its jaws open, ready to snap.

"Dodge and you Bite him right back, Neon!" Naruto cried.

Neon slid under snapping jaws and hopped up to deliver a nasty Bite Attack to Tyrunt on his tail. Tyrunt howled in pain and started stumbling about, trying to get the clinging Eevee off.

"Tyrunt, shake her off!" Grant cried.

Tyrunt shook and viciously. But Neon continued to hold on, even as she felt her strength drain from the energy it took.

"Neon, jump off and Quick Attack!" Naruto ordered. Neon finally let go just as Tyrunt was performing a harried sort of pirouette, and as Tyrunt 's back faced her, she performed her Quick Attack. Tyrunt fell with a thump but got back up again, barely taking any damage from the speedy attack.

"Tyrant, Bulldoze!" Grant cried. Tyrunt lifted his feet and stomped down hard, creating waves that rocked through the ground. The audience yelped as they were struggling to keep steady.

"Just keep crouched, Neon, lower your center of gravity!" Naruto called out, voice warbling as the ground and himself continued to shake, but the blond was fine from the relentless trembling coming from the field.

"Shadow Ball, now!" Naruto demanded

"Dragon Pulse Tyrunt!" Grant ordered the counter. From Tyrunt 's open mouth, a multicolored dragon-shaped beam of concentrated energy completely obliterated the puny Shadow Ball and headed straight for a startled Neon.

"Dodge it!" Naruto ordered, and as Neon jumped to the side, he hurriedly put his arms up as the attack trying to avoid flying debris.

"Sand Attack Neon, blind him!" Naruto shouted. Eevee barked, and once the dragon was within range, she kicked up a large enough dirt cloud to irritate and blinding Tyrunt.

"Tyrunt move away, don't let her get you!" Grant said. "Use Dragon Tail"

Tyrunt's tail becomes covered in a green, scale-patterned aura used to smack Neon across the body and sent her flying. Neon flew through the air but bent her knees flipped once— twice— three times still air bore getting higher.

"Shadow Ball and Iron Tail!" Naruto commanded. Neon firing a Shadow Ball at an angle so that it wouldn't climb too high too fast. With a burst of speed, she takes after it, tail glowing in preparation for her Iron Tail. She leaps up, coming just above the Shadow Ball and driving her tail into it, making it explode outward in a burst of dark energy like a Supernova. It then broke up apart into dozens of falling pitch-black meteors of dark energy that hit the ground.

"Jump while dodging it, Tyrunt!" Tyrunt dodges a couple of the beams of raining light, but the third one had enough power combined with the damage done by the previous two that it smashed and hit Tyrunt hard enough to knock him to the ground hard, making a giant hole.

"Remarkable! It's like something right out of a movie!" Morgan gasps, placing a hand delicately to her cheeks.

"Neon, come back!" Naruto ordered. Neon darted back to the blond's side. "You did great; you rest up a bit, okay" Neon nodded before slumping down by Naruto's feet to watch the rest of the match.

"Let's go, Ame!" Naruto shouted, sending out his Frogadier, who was already crouching in anticipation.

"Use Water Pulse!" Naruto instructed; the blue frog slammed down an orb of water that quickly exploded into a tidal wave.

"Tyrunt, use Iron Head!" Tyrunt body becomes surrounded by a white aura, and he blasted through the waves with his head at Ame and bashed him hard into the ground.

Ame got up, a bit hurt, but the damage wasn't that bad.

"Pound Ame" Frogadier jumps up with a high burst and dives on the opponent with a white palm strike.

"Chomp down with Thunder Fang!" Tyrunt angled his body so that he could extending his powerful jaws, ready to deliver a nasty bite. Sparks of electricity displayed in its fangs.

"Double Team!" doing as commanded, he created several copies and slipped away in an after image.

They start to move around in a spinning circle around Tyrunt, who had moved faster to see them.

"Don't let them get you dizzy Tyrunt, use Dragon Tail and find the real one!" Grant commanded.

Tyrunt raised its tail as it was soon covered in a green, scale-patterned aura and started spinning in various directions to dispel all the copies. It stopped when it had turned a full one-eighty degree and blinked in surprise when it saw the Frogadier in front of it without a scratch.

"Follow up with Water Pulse!" at point-blank, Tyrunt was blasted back by an orb of water that quickly exploded into a massive tidal wave. The mini T-Rex became slightly dizzy from the impact. It started shaking its head several times in an attempt to calm its confused state.

'It's confused, now's my chance,' the blond thought.

"Ame, use Icy Wind!" The frog blasted out a crystal blue gust of winds nailing the super-effective hit toward his opponent, making the dragon speed drop rapidly.

"Tyrunt, Draco Meteor!" Grant shouted; despite its slightly disoriented line of sight, the Royal Heir Pokémon was able to acknowledge his trainer's orders. Tyrunt fired a giant orange orb high into the sky. It then broke up apart into dozens of falling meteors of dragon energy that hit the ground.

"Dodging them, Ame!" Ame dodges a couple of raining light beams, trying to close the distance onto the living fossil. The raining asteroids crashed down onto the field, making it impossible to get closer to the dual-type dragon.

"Ame, are you okay!" Naruto shouted as the cloud of dust and debris from the impact dissipated. Naruto saw Ame land in front of the blond ready to keep fighting.

'If only we can cut down... it's it!' the blond brightened, coming up with a solution.

"Ame, follow my lead, okay" the Bubble Frog nodded, ready.

"Ame, cover the whole field using Ice Beam!" The frog shot beams of frost throughout the field, forming giant sculptures of ice all over the place.

'I have no idea what he is planning, but we're not going to find out,' Grant thought, determined to win.

"Rock Tomb Now!" Grant ordered

Tyrunt becomes outlined in white energy and raises its head. Multiple gray rocks outlined in white energy then form around its head in the shape of a ring. Then, it launched them at the Water-type.

"Dodge them, Ame," but the attack hit Ame head on. After the attack stopped, Ame bent down to one knee in pain.

Naruto looked around the field, noticing Ame now finished preparing the area to counter-attack.

"We're not giving up yet, Ame Quick Attack full speed!" Ame dashed at breakneck speeds across the ice. Ame darted forwards in a streak of white light like a shooting star.

"Don't let it get closer, Tyrunt, jump up high, and finish this up by using Draco Meteor!" Grant shouted as Tyrunt fired another giant orange orb high into the sky. bursting into dozens of falling meteors of dragon energy toward the ground.

"Ame double Pound and Water Pulse!" Ame's palms become surrounded by white as blue water spheres combined as he continued dashing forward while evading the falling asteroids. The blue spheres start to take shape as the frog sped across the sheets of ice. The light blue orbs then hardened around Ame's limbs, infusing the water simultaneously with the freezing temperatures creating two curved blades of ice.

"What?! How is that possible?" Tenten shouted as Lee was calling in the excitement in wanting to battle Naruto once more.

As meteors were still coming down from the sky, Frogadier jumps up with the help of the icy slopes it created. Using its fantastic jumping abilities, he leaped high into the air slashing with such force, instantly destroying all the chunks of stone from its original sender.

Tyrunt was unable to avoid the twin blades of ice. Ame then slashes the fossil with the swords. The attack knocked Tyrunt hard enough to hit it out of the sky and down to the ground hard, making a large crater. Tyrunt was sent flying back towards the icy battlefield, which was knocked out upon impact; the Royal Heir Pokémon laid on the ground with swirl eyes to prove its defeated state.

"Tyrunt is unable to battle. Frogadier is the winner!" The referee called the battle. "This battle goes to Naruto!" The blond and his Pokémon cheered, "You did it, Ame! " The blue frog Pokémon croaked in agreement as he hopped over to his whiskered trainer's. Not minding his injuries, Hikari happily clapped from her perch on the teen shoulder. Hikari huffed looked away, thinking it was obvious they would win.

The gym leader sighed as he recalled his Pokémon and giving Naruto a broad grin, "You are an unpredictable foe. One of the most creative battles I had in a while." The blond beamed as he petted Ame and Neon before recalling them both, "Thanks, I guess." He weakly grinned

Grant waited for the gym official to walk over with a small tray in hand. "That was a pretty cool maneuver, and the fact that your Frogadier dodged and weaved without you even saying so is a testament to how long you guys trained together," Grant replied. The rock type gym leader presented Naruto the Cliff Badge. Naruto put the badge inside his orange badge case.

"I look forward to a rematch one day," the gym leader exclaimed with a laugh.

"Thank you, Grant, and me too," Naruto said, beaming. Victini cheered while still invisible, hovering beside her father/trainer.

His friends soon bordered the blond as they all congratulated him on his win.

'I hope the rest of this journey is smooth sailing from now on.'

A shadowy straw-hat figure stood in silence as the great mountain loomed before them, cold grey crevices holding the blood of many battles. While the lower passes wore a cloak of greenery, the peaks were crowned with ice headdress. Without a word passing between them, their hearts knew it to be a sacred place and stilled their minds.

The mysterious person continued forward, a glint of light caught his attention and what followed was a sickly caw. A bird with grievous eyes and ink-stained wings seemed to float over above him with the swift movement of a wing. It landed on the branch in front of him as it cawed like it was addressing him.

The person heard a beeping signal coming from his wear long, black cloak with red clouds, before pulling out his Holo Caster. Opening the screen, the monitor shot out a hologram of its caller, "Agent Shu, what news do you have?" asked a deep, ominous voice.

"Mission was a success, the Keystone is in our hands also have the location of the Creation Trio... though I recommend getting the Keystone sealed, its already attracting enough attention from wild Pokémon."

"Noted, get it back to base and have agent Kū and his men study it. You've done an excellent job."

"Thank you, I'll head back to base once I check on something right quick," he stated as he cut his connection.

The young man lifted his straw hat to peer off into the distance. The Michina Ruins are the remnants of the shrine made by Damos, which are located at the peak of a vast, rocky mountain in Michina.

He had onyx eyes, under which were long, pronounced tear-troughs. He had jet-black hair pulled back in a low ponytail and framed his face with center-parted bangs that extended to his chin.

Another caw distracted his thoughts as he lifted his arm; in one swift movement, a small weight landed gently on the man's arm as it cawed once again. The man brushed the bird's rough feather softly as it rubbed its head onto his fingers contentedly. The avian Pokémon with black feathers. Its crooked, yellow beak and the three feathery tufts on its head resemble a witch's nose and hat, respectively. He could feel the stare of the never-ending numbers of the Darkness Pokémon perched up high as they covered the dead trees like deformed leaves of darkest ink. Their eyes bore onto his back as if it knew he wouldn't leave this dark place.
