Brave Lizzie
A smaller wolf stood in Lizzie's place. She was the color of her hair, browns and blonds, a sleek, powerful beauty. She wasn't going to let William get murdered. She might not love him, but he had saved her from the bad place where she was at. "Close your mind, don't try to read anyone. Think your mind has a door, close it tight."
The smaller wolf pushed other wolves easily. She was charged with power. When she reached Thomas, she jumped on the much larger wolf, biting , trying to bite his throat.
Thomas had already realized how his wolves couldn't bite William, but he hoped he had done enough damage. When Elizabeth's wolf attacked him, he knew what he had to do. Thomas turned into a human. Elizabeth saw the man who had been her father and hesitated, dropping her shield. She had been afraid of him as a little girl; he had been free with the belt and his hand; he had been an abusive, mean father.
Taking advantage of the brief second, Thomas backhanded Elizabeth and kicked her a good distance. Using his magic, he appeared on top of his horse. He ordered his men, "Now, let's go, everyone on your horses; let's go ."
Lear pointed his hand and froze a few rogue wolves closer to him. The ones that were not frozen ran, jumped on theirhorses, and, using their magic, got away. Lear didn't try to stop them. Neither did her grand parents. He wanted to tend to William. He lay on the ground, bitten and injured. Elizabeth was on the ground, but maybe not hurt badly. Her father and relatives ran to her.
William lay on a pool of blood. When he jumped on Thomas, the villain managed to cut a deep slash on William's chest. He appeared to be dying.
Nathan-Thomas Bennet wanted to die in Willam's instead. His brother had murdered William's parents; Nathan-Thomas was sure this was his fault. And now, his beloved child was injured; once again, he regretted disobeying his father by not killing Thomas.
Elizabeth stood up, ignored everyone, and ran to Darcy. A small creature flew around her head, "I have seen pictures of those like you. I hoped you were real." Elizabeth grinned. The small-monkey like creature, with humanoid lips and blue eyes, jumped on her shoulder and kissed her cheek, "I be Coky, my Lady." she stayed on Lizzie's shoulder, holding on to Lizzie's neck with her humanoid gloved hand. Lizzie admired Coky's clothing, wore a silk vest, trousers, short boots, had several small satchels, and a belt loaded with knives; she was a tiny warrior.
Another creature, Contrarious went to kneel by Darcy, his head bowed.
Elizabeth kneeled by William and caressed his cold brow; she looked worried, "Thank you for saving me." She said, putting his head on his lap.
"You are my wife. It is my duty and my wish for you to be safe." He was nearly blue, their actual appearance, once the wolf was awake, they're other than human appearance manifested. "I am sorry if I wronged you. You are my one. I loved you the moment I saw you. My life for yours and your loved ones." He whispered since he could barely breathe.
He was dying; Elizabeth knew it; tears wouldn't stop rolling down her cheeks. Lear and her grandparents were desolate; William was the only heir; the hope of his people.
"I am sorry you don't like me. I hope you will be happy. I was wrong about your father and hurt you." Darcy told her.
Elizabeth couldn't think of a future without him. Her wolf was howling inside. Elizabeth suspected her death was close behind, her heart ached. "Don't die. I no longer dislike you."
Others moved next to Elizabeth. Lear wanted to touch William, but Lizzie snarled, "Don't touch him." In her grief, she didn't trust anyone.
Contrarious stood up. He put his semi-gloved hand, with long black claws, on Lizzie's shoulder. "I am Contrarious. My king needs his grandson, please let him help. My Lady, at your service." The short furry creature bowed. Elizabeth saw his furry face full of piercings. She knew he wasn't lying, his kind were dangerous, thus she wondered why he hadn't help.
"I wish my king would have let us help, though he is afraid one of us could be trapped; difficult, but it could happen. Our prince's father was our Lord, but he left us behind." He crouched by William to protect him.
Coky whispered, "He be right."
Everyone gathered around. Lear moved a round metal plate around Darcy. The disc turned black and glowed green. "He is poisoned; the same poison used to kill many of us. Thomas said my son had been poisoned, probably with this." He looked lost.
Coky flew above Darcy and sniffed. Out of one of her pouches, she pulled a vial. She gave it to Lear; when it landed on his hand, the tiny vials grew several sizes. It had a clear liquid inside, "Give this to your boy."
Lear made Darcy drink the vial; Darcy was nearly gone.
They waited a couple of minutes, but there was no change. By now, it looked hopeless. Nobody was able to save poisoned ones before. It was not only poison, but it was also pure hatred.
Coky was thoughtful. She said, "My Lady be his true one. Maybe he needs a little blood from a pretty wife."
Lear thought about it. Blood from your mate might work, and William and his wife blood bonded. He looked at Coky, "Maybe, at the worst, it couldn't hurt. ''
Coky said, "I get it." She flew to Elizabeth. Elizabeth offered her hand, not knowing. Coky turned Lizzie's hand, took her wrist, then, pulled out a knife from her knife collection, Coky said, "My Lady, I have a special knife; it not be hurting, not even a little."
Elizabeth answered, "I don't care, just do it."
Everyone waited. Elizabeth's Scot family admired Coky. Only Lear had those like Coky and Contrarious. He had gifted a few to others, but the stubborn creatures refused to go away from Lear. Though it seemed both creatures liked Elizabeth, and of course, William.
Coky made a little cut on Lizzie's wrist, it was true; it didn't hurt. She collected the blood in another vial and passed it to Lear.
He forced Darcy's lips to open, "Son, please drink, swallow."
No, he didn't respond. Elizabeth heard her inner voice, You do it, order him. Call Wolfgang, his wolf. Crazy or not, she listened.
Elizabeth told Lear, "Let me, please."
Lear saw her fangs. Her wolf was nearly out. It was their only chance.
"Wolfgang, drink, drink. Mr. Dar, Err, William drink." Elizabeth asked.
Darcy opened his lips, and she poured the blood. Elizabeth knew about blood bonds, but she had never done it; not that she remembered exchanging blood with him. Indeed, she didn't remember drinking the mix with his blood. She wished that she had blood bonded. Maybe she could have saved William.
They waited a few long minutes; Lear hadn't cried in a long time, but he couldn't stop the tears. He wasn't the only one crying. Elizabeth's sisters stood behind her. Jane was looking messy; she had a few scratches, not that she cared. Lydia was out for the first time in a long time. They all felt their sister's sorrow and held hands, hoping Elizabeth held Darcy's hand. The cold hand was getting warmer; she smiled when he squeezed her hand a little.
Meanwhile, all the rogue wolves were gone, but Lear's people were tracking them. They had followed them even when they disappeared; they could see their ghostly figure. But suddenly, they vanished, using an illegal passage.
They could hear another carriage coming up the road. Coky and Contrarious disappeared. William looked human; he was was coming around. Mariah erased traces of the fight. She fixed Jane's torn clothes, doing the same for Lizzie and William.
Richard and Bartlett went to wake Charles. The servants woke up as well. Richard made them forget what happened. In their memories, Mr. Darcy had fallen.
Darcy smiled at Elizabeth, sat up; and she helped him up. When he stood, he kissed her hand.
"You will tell me what happened." He pressed her hand against his face.
"I will. I am glad you are well." She smiled, making his heart soar.
The carriage arrived, carrying the Bingley sisters. Hurst had opted to go up North to be with his cousins, but Lear invited him to visit. He could use more of them; Reggie had other cousins he would invite. Charles was afraid Louisa's husband wouldn't be around for long. Caroline was a bad influence.
Caroline descended; first, she ran to Mr. Darcy. Elizabeth stood right in front of him. Darcy heard the low growl and grinned.
"I just came to pick up Charles." Caroline kept looking at William.
"You were told not to come back. We just married today; we are not welcome, " Elizabeth said, reaching for Darcy's hand. For the first time, she noticed the ring she wore. It looked like a wolf's head with emeralds for eyes, exquisite.
"Where is my brother? We are leaving for London." Caroline demanded.
Charles came out. He didn't want to go with his sisters. "Caroline, I have been invited to dine here tonight. You best be on your way. We need to talk later." He looked at Jane; but she was undecided. Alois, the Austrian prince, though she would be perfect for his Hungarian or his Finnish cousins. He had seen her courage, plus she was royalty and beautiful.
Reggie added, "Louisa, you will hear from my solicitor. Please don't contact me directly." He turned around and walked back into the house.
Lear told Caroline, "You stay away from my family. Don't make any more excuses to come around. Go now. My daughter told you to leave."
Everyone started walking into the house. Richard moved forward, "Let me help you back in the carriage and be on your way."
Inside the house, Elizabeth, Mariah, and Bartlett went into a smaller drawing room to tend to those injured during the fight. William stood watching his beloved, wondering if he would have a wedding night; he hoped so. His grandfather said they had to, or the bond would weaken.
Thomas Bennet met with the mysterious enemy of Elizabeth and William's families to report. He was afraid of the reaction, but he already had a few ideas. Damn Nathan, the fair hair child, the favorite of everyone; it was time to end him as well, and the time to take Fanny back; after Lear gifted her. He wanted his daughters as well; they would make him prosperous very.
