The rest of the day felt like it went by much faster than Midoriya would have expected, then again he was just laying on his bed; still dazed by the kiss and by how Todoroki was towards him in general. It all felt surreal, like he was just in a dream, a dream he never wanted to wake up from. Midoriya carefully washed up before leaving his home to meet up with Todoroki at the spot he had left the day before. His stomach wouldn't stop doing flips from how nervous he was to see him, they weren't dating as far as he knew. Midoriya could only blush as he kept thinking about the possibility that they were dating and that he didn't hear Todoroki walk closer, but instantly yelped when a hand was placed on his shoulder; making him quickly turn around to face him.
"Are you ok?" Todoroki asked in a monotone voice, shocking Midoriya a bit as he watched him carefully.
"I-I'm fine..are you ok? You seem...different today…" Midoriya asked quietly.
"Just tired from practice with my father, let's head to school," Todoroki said before grabbing Midoriya's back from him and started to walk ahead of him but slowed down so that he could catch up. Midoriya gently bit the inside of his cheek, still feeling worried as he did this, hesitating a bit as he started to follow him to school.
"Is he...avoiding me?..."
The entire walk to school was the most uncomfortable Midoriya has felt since entering the school the first day, he didn't know what to do or even say. Every time he opened his mouth to start a conversation, he closed it right away when he noticed Todoroki start to look over at him. He almost felt scared of him getting annoyed with him trying to talk to him about something, anything. Once they got into their classroom, Todoroki walked over to Midoriya's seat and placed his bag down before going over to his own, still not saying a word the entire time as the green-haired boy quietly walked to his desk and sat down. He kept his head down a bit while listening to the other start to walk around the classroom, cleaning whatever he can until more of their classmates came in.
"I swear to god you're so damn annoying!"
Yea...I guess he's right...I mean, why else would Todoroki suddenly change from such a sweet and caring person towards him, to...someone who's just tired of being around him...like everyone else?...Tears quickly rolled down his cheeks, gently hitting the top of his desk, making him flinch a bit, and carefully tried to see where Todoroki was before he wiped away the tears the best he could and went back to his position. Soon enough, most of their classmates started to walk in; a few greeting the two while also asking Midoriya if he was feeling better, instantly earning reassurance from him about his well being.
"Are you sure you're ok, Deku-kun? Your eyes seem a bit red." Uraraka asked him in worry as she gently moved some of the hair from his face that covered a bit of his eyes.
"Did you not get any sleep? It's always recommended to sleep for at least 8 hours." Ida added in while giving a quick hand motion towards him.
"Y-yea, I didn't get much sleep from the pain. Medicine took a bit to kick in." he quickly replied back, putting his hands up in defense from the continuous questions he was getting while faintly flinching from Uraraka being so close to him. Blinking in confusion, she pulled her hand away and didn't question it while playfully trying to stop Ida from continuing his lecture and questions to Midoriya about getting more sleep for his health.
"C'mon Idaaaa, you should get to your desk unless you want to get marked absent by Aizawa~" she teased him, giggling when he suddenly and quickly rushed off to sit down when he heard Aizawa walk in and told everyone to be quiet before she waved at Midoriya and went to her seat behind Ida as well. Faintly waving back, he soon flinched when Bakugou suddenly opened the door and walked in with his usual annoyed expression - Kirishima being right behind him and was apologizing for being late.
"You were supposed to come in early to clean with Todoroki." Aizawa simply said as Kirishima rushed to sit down while Bakugou faintly stomped towards his seat, tossing his bag under it, making Midoriya flinch a bit from it.
"The old hag wouldn't stop yelling at me, so I lost track of time." he simply answered while noticing the other flinch, making him smirk at him a bit before sitting down. Aizawa sighed and shook his head in response before he slowly started to startup class, not realizing how hard Midoriya was focusing on not having a panic attack. So many emotions were running through him, it was almost suffocating him - he was desperately trying to hold back gasps by biting the inside of his cheek and clenched his tie a bit, trying to stop himself from shaking so much.
He couldn't focus on anything Aizawa was teaching the class, it was all just a complete blur, before he knew it the bell rang for lunch. Midoriya let out a shaky breath as soon as everyone got up to leave the room, he was sweating so much and felt like he ran a marathon with how out of breath he was. Without a second thought, he rushed out of his seat and out of the classroom, ignoring the calls of his classmates. There was no way he could handle being around any of them with his condition, especially Todoroki, he hates being a burden to them and refuses to let them waste their time with someone like him. Once he made sure that he couldn't hear anyone near him, his running slowed down, and let himself lean against a nearby wall to be able to catch his breath and calm down the pain he got from pushing himself too hard to just getaway. Tears soon followed once more as his mind wandered back to how Todoroki was acting around him, it was like the day he bumped into him just more - distant. As if he was having regrets doing what he did with him yesterday like he realized he wasn't worth the time to focus on. After a minute of just standing there in a daze, he wiped his eyes once more and let his legs take him whenever they wanted. He felt like he was floating the entire time, nothing felt real even as he managed to focus his gaze in front of him, noticing he was now at Recovery Girl's office. He gave a small knock before quietly walking inside and shakingly looked around for her to be in the room and jumped faintly when she rolled back from a curtain to see who walked in.
"Midoriya? Is everything ok?" she asked as he only nodded faintly in response.
"I...just don't feel good...was wondering if I could lay down until lunch is over…" he spoke softly. Recovery Girl stayed silent as she looked at him before sighing to herself and motioned him to the bed next to her desk.
"Don't push yourself too much," she said in a soft voice while he shakingly walked over and carefully let himself fall onto his side on the bed, instantly closing his eyes and let his exhaustion take over. Recovery Girl watched him carefully as he got onto the bed and gently stroked his hair, feeling him instantly relax even more from the soft touch.
"Poor child...you're more than just physically hurt..." she said quietly, seeing tears start to form in the corner of his eyes before they were gently wiped away by her.
Midoriya groaned lowly as he rolled onto his back, rubbing his eyes to try to get his eyes opened before quickly sitting up and yelping in pain that shot through his stomach. He gently made himself sit on the edge of his bed, clenching his jaw as he tried to get himself to relax more.
"Glad to see you're finally up. You wouldn't wake up no matter how much I tried." Recovery Girl suddenly spoke from the other side of the room.
"I-I'm sorry, I'll head back to cla-" Midoriya quickly started.
"School ended a few minutes ago, you spent the whole day here sleeping. Must have been feeling pretty bad to sleep for that long. How do you feel now?" she interrupted him while rolling over to him.
"I-I slept the whole day?..." he asked quietly in shock before jumping when he heard the door open.
"Midoriya, if you aren't feeling well please tell me so I can keep note of it. You're still recovering and I don't need to be worrying about you suddenly running off with your condition." Aizawa spoke out while walking over to him.
"Now I hope you didn't come all this way to scold him." Recovery Girl spoke out while crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"He deserves one but I'm not going to. Anyway, Ojiro is going to watch over you now. He's changing back into uniform and is going to get your bag before coming over to walk you out of school." Aizawa said.
"O-Ojiro? What happened to Todoroki?..." Midoriya asked in an almost whisper, trying to understand what happened. Did Todoroki get hurt? Aizawa let out a sigh and rubbed the back of his neck as he looked at him.
"Todoroki told me he couldn't help take care of you. He said it would be best for the both of you if you weren't always together." Midoriya's heart instantly sank upon hearing this, he felt himself sway to the side a bit before he managed to quickly act like he nodded at what he was told.
"R-Right, I hope I wasn't too much of a bother to him yesterday...I'll wait here until Ojiro comes…" he simply spoke out and gently let himself lay back down on his side. Both Aizawa and Recovery Girl were silent as they watched him, looking at each other before he leaned over and gently patted his arm in a reassuring way.
"Don't worry about it too much. I'm sure he was scared you'd get hurt again," he spoke softly before he pulled his hand away and heard him hum quietly in response before deciding to take his leave, not wanting to make him feel uncomfortable. Before leaving the room, he took one look back at Midoriya and saw how Recovery Girl gently stroked his hair while he relaxed - soon walking out. Aizawa soon made his way back towards his classroom and closed the door behind him while taking out his phone and making a quick call.
"How fast can you-" he started before freezing when the classroom door was suddenly slammed open.
"I AM HERE!" All Might yelled out as he let himself make a pose once the door was fully open. Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose as he saw this and let out a sigh and motioned him to close the door once more.
"I know this is asking for a lot...but I need a favor."
