Hello, everyone! This is a new chapter! Chapter 10! I hope everyone will enjoy this chapter and without further ado, let's start!
Normal POV
After they entered the hall again, 'Kai' plopped down against the wall and slid down to sit as 'Aichi' smiled while his eyebrows furrowed a little.
" Despite the healing, you're still pretty exhausted, aren't you?"
" Yeah..."
" That was a pretty big attack. I wouldn't be surprised if you were tired too."
" I still am, but I can't be tired the whole time. Anyway, we're back here to discuss about our battle plans again, right? Then please start first."
" Okay."
Aichi turned to the others as they looked over to them.
" As we've discussed before, I would like to stick to the same plan. I'll bet that we have at least two hours before any Reversed fighters and Link Joker units start trying to come into this place. We have some time to prepare any last modifications to our decks and also strengthening the defenses around the school. We need to push their forces back and counterattack as quickly as we can."
" Yeah!"
" You two should take this time to rest too." Aichi said as he looked over to the still resting 'Kai', " I'll head outside to prepare the barrier and reinforce it."
" Okay."
" Stay here with Ginta-kun while I'm outside, Kai-kun."
" Okay..."
" I'll follow you guys. I can build some defense walls or equipment while I'm at it."
'Aichi' nodded as he made his way out with Nerva, Meliodas and Elizabeth. Once they stepped out of the school, Aichi and Elizabeth strengthened the barrier as Aichi sighed.
" I think no matter how much we do this, this barrier will break anyway. But we do need to buy time.."
" Yeah."
Nerva touched the ground as walls started to form around the entrance to block anyone from breaking through.
" This should delay the Reversed fighters for now..." Nerva said
" ... So what do you think about those two?"
" They're good. Fighting and personality wise. They're pretty similar to me and Kai-kun since we are practically the same people from different worlds. Also... Could you not grope Onee-sama when you ask a question...?"
Aichi sighed deeply while seeing Meliodas groping Elizabeth before continuing while looking at the black ring in the sky.
" Being able to stop the black ring from releasing more units... That's not a small feat, though they became exhausted pretty quickly."
" That talk about elements and flames... Their powers must be really powerful from what we've seen. Maybe if they can become stronger from this experience, they would be an even stronger duo. They'll be unbeatable. Plus, they can even travel through different worlds, since they could come over to this world."
" Yeah, I agree on that. They're already pretty strong on their own. It wouldn't be surprising if they still had more powers they haven't shown yet."
" Yeah, I have that feeling too."
" I wonder..." Elizabeth said as she sat down beside Aichi, " Do you think they are actually hiding their powers on purpose from us? Or..."
" I think it's almost a half half on both. They must still have untapped powers they haven't used or know about yet and they have powers that they haven't shown us yet. It's also in account to the fact that my other self is already pretty weak when he arrived. If he was in tip top shape, I'm sure he would be a greater help."
" That's true..."
" ... Aichi. You think Kai's going to be okay?"
" Hm? Yeah. I had a talk with him before. He was just a little... insecure again. Don't worry too much. He seemed better after we talked about his problems."
" I see..."
The four then continued to station themselves to keep a lookout as a few hours passed. Aichi had taken a short nap on Nerva's lap before all four of them felt a presence. Aichi opened his eyes and got up.
" They're here."
" I'll call the others!"
" Please do. We'll stay here in case the barrier gets broken too quickly."
Nerva nodded as he ran into the school and entered the hall, panting.
" ... Th... They're here...! Everyone be ready...!"
" Kai-kun."
'Kai' nodded as he grabbed the handles of the wheelchair. 'Aichi' then remembered something as he stopped Kai.
" Hey, come with us."
The others remained silent as they looked at each other before 'Aichi' pointed to Kai while he pointed to himself after a few moments of processing.
" Me...?"
Outside the school, Meliodas and Elizabeth had already flown up with their wings as Aichi waited for the others to come out of the school.
" Where are Kai-kun and the other two?"
" They went up to the rooftop. The other Kai said that he'll join you guys after he brought them to the rooftop."
" I see... Everyone, listen. Once the defense walls break, you guys have to start defeating as many Reversed Fighters as possible. We'll try to make sure that you guys don't get overwhelmed by them."
" Leave them to us!"
Aichi nodded.
" Please take care of them, Nerva-kun."
" I will."
Aichi nodded again before spreading his wings to fly up into the sky and saw 'Kai' already waiting in the sky on his cloud.
" So those are the Reversed fighters..."
" Be careful. I think I sense Void amongst them too. They're going to aim for us once the barrier breaks."
" Those defense walls Nerva built might not even last either with the enemies we're dealing with."
" Yeah. But this is just to delay for time... We need to prepare ourselves for the fight."
" I know."
'Kai' drew his sword as Aichi looked over to the rooftop to see 'Aichi' and Kai wearing cloaks to hide themselves before turning back to the army approaching them.
" They're coming!"
They looked in front as they saw Frederick touching the barrier. Slowly, it cracked and shattered as 'Kai' caught a glimpse of a black object flying towards Nerva. He quickly scooped Nerva off the ground to avoid it with his clouds.
" What's that?!"
" A black ring from Link Joker! I can't believe they manifested it!"
" That ring locks anything and anyone inside it! Be careful not to get caught by it!"
" How troublesome!"
A blast went past them after they dodged as 'Kai' clicked his tongue.
" This is going to be tough..."
" Onee-sama! Meliodas!"
The two swooped down to battle Frederick as they noticed Void coming out of the crowd of Reversed fighters and floating up to their level.
" There's the big boss..."
" Yeah, I can sense it too."
Void charged at them as Aichi raised his arm in front of him.
" Ark!"
The sphere of light surrounded Void as he smirked and the black mist spread around the light as they gasped.
" ... Grand Ark!"
An even stronger and bigger sphere of light surrounded the first one as Void laughed.
" As if this could stop me. I did not travel through many worlds, only to be defeated by this kind of power so easily. It's definitely strong, but it won't work."
" Not even Grand Ark could stop him?!"
" This is bad..."
Suddenly, two black rings trapped them as Aichi gasped.
" Hey!"
" Caught off guard... just like that?!"
" No... It was a trap all along!"
" Now there's only you left. A tiny, useless human. Just how are you floating on that cloud like that? Could it be one of the manifestations from Aichi Sendou's power?"
" Keep thinking, because you're going down!"
" Then let's see your feeble struggle while these two will take front row seats to your death show."
" No, don't!"
A sword appeared on Void's hand as he clashed swords with 'Kai'.
" ... This sword..."
'Kai' quickly pushed him away before he could stay near him longer as Void's eyes narrowed.
" That sword feels too out of this world. Where did you obtain that?"
" Have a guess, though you might not be able to."
" How interesting. Let's see then."
The two clashed swords continuously as Aichi took out his fan and opened it as he swung it. Blades of light came out of it and freed both him and Nerva as 'Kai' caught Nerva with a cloud again.
" I see. So you're the one. Cloud manipulation. Something you just recently learnt? Or rather..." Void trailed off as he thought about something, " I've decided. You're going to be my vessel."
" Not happening!"
Aichi flew towards them but quickly stopped when he saw the army of Link Joker units started to overwhelm the defense walls. The Reversed fighters have already swarmed around the school as he gasped while looking for the others, making sure that they were still safe.
" There's just too many of them...!"
Suddenly, 'Kai' seemed to pause as he turned to the rooftop. 'Aichi' and Kai were soon lifted by the clouds as Void took notice of them when they went higher.
" I have only one shot. Once this shot is finished, they must hurry before reinforcements arrive." 'Aichi' said as an orb appeared in his hand
The orb floated out of his hand and came in front of him as he got out his sword. The flowers scattered from the blade as they gathered around the orb. A giant flower bloomed after that as 'Kai' turned to the others.
" Draw back!"
Aichi called Meliodas and Elizabeth as they also flew to retreat after seeing the flower. Void and Frederick started firing rays of darkness as Aichi took a breath before executing his chant.
" Burst Element."
The orb glowed and burst as a giant ray of light sliced through the air, destroying anything and everything that got in its way, including the dark rays that Void and Frederick fired as they were caught in the blast as well.
" This is..."
" What power!"
" It annihilated everything... Again!"
" But then..."
While the aftereffects of the blast dissipated, the cloud descended as 'Kai' ran over to 'Aichi' to catch him from falling over, his hood falling off in the process.
" Aichi!"
" Was that... An 'element burst' too?"
" Yeah... Aichi gathered those elements in our world once to find a strong enemy but he never got to use it. Since we couldn't generate elements as we normally could, this was our only option. I never thought that this was the amount he'd gathered..."
" With this... They won't have reinforcements for awhile... So, hurry... Free those fighters..." 'Aichi' panted before fainting
" ... Onee-sama!"
Elizabeth nodded as they released a blinding light, purging the Link Joker aura from the Reversed fighters as they all collapsed. 'Kai' then started to use clouds to send the fighters to different card shops nearby and the field was empty in an instant.
" Is it... over?"
" For now. They will return for sure."
" That's right. We need to hurry and defeat that agent of Link Joker. The world will return to normal if we do so."
" Then let's hurry. The faster this is over, the faster we can go back to our normal lives."
" Yeah!"
'Kai' carried 'Aichi' in his arms as he slowly stood up before becoming locked by multiple black rings.
" What?!"
" Hey!"
" I can't move...!"
He was floated up as Void appeared in the sky beside him.
" Oh no!"
" That attack didn't damage him?!"
" This is bad!" Aichi exclaimed as his wings appeared on his back and he flew up, only to be stopped by a burned Frederick as he was healing himself, " Get out of my way!"
" I won't."
Void tightened the rings' hold over Kai as he gasped in pain.
" As I've said, you're going to become my vessel. What luck. To think that another Aichi Sendou existed. I'll be putting him to good use too, along with your world."
" That won't happen!"
" Oh really? Then we'll see once I take over your body."
Aichi immediately tried to fly around Frederick again but was blocked by a barrier as it closed up around him.
" Aichi!"
" Elizabeth!"
" Yes!"
The two flew up as well to help him as black mist started leaking out of Void. The black mist crept up towards him as 'Kai' felt the piercing pain of it entering his body as he let out a scream while trying to resist.
" This is bad!"
" Can't we do something?!"
" I don't have any power to create something to get us up there!"
" The other Aichi fainted and our Aichi is already trapped... The only other two people who can fight in the air already have their hands full... What can we do...?!"
While 'Kai' continued to struggle with the black mist, a glow of rainbow light illuminated from him and 'Aichi' as Void noticed that the black mist had seized a little but not completely.
" What...?"
The bow that 'Aichi' had handed Kai on the rooftop glowed as he felt it and took it out from the cloak.
" ... Are you telling me to use you to save them...?"
He then looked up as he steeled his determination and handed Ginta over to Nerva.
" What are you doing?!"
" Just... something. Something I hope that it'll work..."
Kai looked down at the bow as he lifted it up. The bow glowed as little particles gathered into his other hand, forming an arrow. Hiding his surprise, he immediately put the arrow on the bow as he pulled the bowstring.
" I just have to get one hit on Void... If this hits, he'll be released immediately... I have to do it!"
" Imagine it and it'll become your strength."
" Imagine it... And fire this arrow!" Kai thought as his hands started glowing again while the arrow started to heat up in the same orange glow, " Go!"
He released the arrow as it flew up towards Void. Suddenly, it burned up in flames and scattered before hitting Void altogether, burning him up in flames.
" W-What did you just...?!"
" Just now... It really did happen... Is this my potential...?" Kai thought
" Well, whatever you just shot did the trick! Hurry and help Aichi too!"
Kai nodded as another arrow quickly appeared in his hand again and he shot it on Frederick. Some of the arrows hit Frederick while the rest freed Aichi from the barrier encasing him as he flew up to help 'Kai'.
" Hey! Are you okay?!"
" Y-Yeah..."
Aichi released a ball of light from his hand as he ejected some black mist that had managed to enter 'Kai' before helping him down while making sure his other self didn't slip off.
" Are you sure you're alright?"
" Yeah, I'm fine..."
Aichi looked around to access the damage as he quickly landed before Void or Frederick could recover.
" Rest here."
" Aichi!"
Aichi looked up again after setting 'Kai' down as he saw Void coming out of the smoke, his body was damaged and black mist was clinging onto his damaged body parts.
" He's finally taken damage!"
" I don't know what you did, Kai, but it's working!" Miwa exclaimed
" ... Don't get so cocky."
Frederick appeared from the smoke after blocking the arrows with a barrier as he shot out a dark ray, aiming for Kai while he readied another shot. Meliodas immediately came up to block the attack with his dagger.
" Not happening!"
" Don't get in my way!"
" Then try to go past me!"
Elizabeth also landed beside them as she started to heal 'Aichi' and 'Kai' from their exhaustion as well. At the same time, Kai had released another arrow as it split again to hit both Frederick and Void.
" The same trick won't hit me again."
Black mist blocked the arrows while Frederick directed the dark ray to destroy the arrows.
" Oh my... They're pissed off now." Ren said
" Not the time to be impressed!"
" I'm not!"
" Kai!"
Kai had fell to his knees as he panted. Aichi immediately stopped healing and went over to him.
" Kai-kun?"
" I-I'm fine..."
He lifted up his hand again to create an arrow as the small orb soon burst as Kai let out a gasp while Aichi supported him again.
" You're lacking the strength to make another one!"
" But this bow... I just know it can..."
" Maybe, but you're too exhausted!"
" But..."
Suddenly, the bow started glowing again as footsteps approached them and picked the bow off from Kai's hand.
" It's okay. You've done your best. You can rest now."
The cape appeared around 'Aichi' as he floated up.
" I'll be back in a minute."
He flew up as he made another arrow of light and aimed.
" Like I said, it won't work."
" I know."
'Aichi' then pointed the bow upwards as they looked up to the sky and gasped. Black clouds were above them as thunder and lightning crashed inside it. 'Kai' got up as his black sword was on his hand. 'Aichi' shot the arrow as it entered the cloud.
" What?!"
'Kai' swung his sword down as the lightning filled arrows rained down from the clouds. Void and Frederick were left to fend for themselves as the others went away from the arrows that were hitting the ground.
" Amazing!"
" They're definitely on another level."
" Yeah."
" I'm sure glad they're on our side..."
" Yeah... The school would be gone if they weren't..."
Once the arrows and lightning ceased, Void and Frederick had disappeared as the others waited in silence before 'Aichi' turned to them and gave them a thumbs up. Naoki held in his excitement before he burst out.
" ... Alright! We did it!"
