Crew:

Kyle (Impostor) – Blue Riley (Security) - Cyan

Ricky (Weapons) – Red Edgar (Captain) - White

Sofia (Cook) – Lime Helen (Communication) - Orange

Dereck (No specified role) – Black Chen (Electrical) - Purple

Grace (Nurse) – Pink Valerie (Cook) – Green

Grace POV

Chen is dead. I can't believe it. Not just that, but there is another Impostor here? Why did this happen to us? How many Impostors are there out there?

Maybe everyone but me is an Impostor? There is no proof that it isn't true.

All those thoughts are flying through my head, while I'm quietly sitting in Cafeteria. Ricky is wandering around through the room. He's stressed out and I don't blame him.

"What is taking them so long?" He asks.

"I don't know, do you think they are okay?"

"Yeah sure!"

I hear footsteps and jump up and step back. I don't know if I can trust any of them. Dereck is first, staring into the distance. Sofia is following him, also not really present anymore.

"Where's Riley?" Ricky asks.

Dereck shakes his head.

"What is that supposed to mean? Didn't you find him?"

"There is another body." Sofia manages to say.

"Fuck!"

Ricky turns around in frustration.

"Who…."

Sofia looks at me. "We don't know. Either Riley or Kyle."

Ricky turns around in a sudden.

"Not Kyle. Kyle walked in from Admin with a large bump on his head. I sent him to get Captain Edgar."

"On his own? Are you mad?"

Ricky shakes his head.

"What if Kyle is the Impostor? Or what if the captain is?"

Ricky grins. "Than we know that the other one is the Impostor."

I notice Sofia is growing a bit angry.

"But the other one would die!"

I look at Ricky's face, knowing that he wouldn't care if either the captain or Kyle would die. As long as he would survive this entire endeavor.

Luckily for him, Kyle and the captain walk in before he has to answer.

"What happened to you?" Dereck asks Kyle.

"When the lights went out I was in Admin. I tried to make my way towards Electrical when I heard Chen call out. But I tripped and fell with my head onto the table. I must have had a blackout because the next thing I remember is lying in the Admin room with the lights on."

"Talking about that, let me check your face to see if you are okay."

Kyle sits down while I check his bump, while Dereck fills in the captain on the latest.

With a troubled face, he tried to face us all.

Edgar POV

"Dear crewmates. With a troubled mind I have to talk to you, today. Two more of our crew have died, rather quickly, and because of that we need to bring back rules."

Everyone is quiet. One and a half weeks ago everyone would have sighed.

"Everyone stays in their rooms. The doors can lock both from inside and outside. I will personally lock the doors and open them again."

I look around. No-one likes this, but being killed is even worse.

"Secondly, now we've lost Chen and Riley, that opens up two positions that need to be filled. Weapons isn't really needed anymore since we already cleared the obstacles between us and Earth, so I would like Ricky to take Riley's spot. Dereck, you are now chief Engineering."

Again, no-one is complaining.

"I know this isn't great. In fact, this is the worst flight of my life. Earlier today I had a call with someone from the leadership board of Meera, who informed me I wouldn't be fired. Well, I don't think I will ever go back into space. The things these monsters can do, what they have done to our crew, it is just terrible."

I rarely cry, if ever. But now, I feel a tear coming up. All these people are my responsibility. I've lost Four right now, Five remain under my care. I have to get them home safe. I just have to.

"One of you could be the Impostor, but it could be something else entirely. There are more threats out here, maybe we are dealing with another kind of monster. I know that doesn't heighten spirits, I just want you all to be prepared for everything. Thank you for your attention."

When I'm about to leave the room, I hear Ricky cough behind me.

"I think it's you."

All eyes are on him.

"You want to lock the doors? So you can decide which door you can open and which crewmate you can kill next?"

"No of course not!"

"You were in Electrical when Chen died. How do we know you didn't kill Riley before that? Kyle agrees with me, right Kyle?"

I turn to face Kyle now, who was standing behind the others.

"Ehh… I don't know if we should throw random accusations right now."

"Come on man! It's Edgar for sure."

"That will be Captain Edgar for you."

But Ricky shakes his head. "Not anymore Impostor. I call you nothing other than a murderer."

I see the other people looking at me. They are tired, they are scared and their minds run all kinds of theories.

I don't know if they believe Ricky, they might just.

"You also said you wouldn't float Helen, and yet you ordered me and Dereck to take her. I bet she wasn't even an Impostor. It was you all along wasn't it? You killed Edgar and put his body in the Reactor."

Now more people stood up.

"Captain, please tell me he is lying," Dereck says. There is a threatening undertone in his voice.

"I swear to you all, it isn't me. I am not the Impostor."

"I think it is. Let's get him!"

But no-one moves. Ricky looks around angrily.

"Fine, then I will do it."

He's fast, but I'm not slow either. I sprint away and close the doors behind me. I will not be thrown into air by my own crew. Never. For now, I need to figure out how to convince my crew I am not the Impostor.

Ricky POV

This will keep them at bay for a while, hopefully long enough for Kyle to kill the others. He has picked up his pace, killing Chen and Riley almost immediately after one another.

I turn around and see Grace storming away.

"Can you two follow the captain? Make sure he's not up to something?"

Dereck frowns. "Yeah sure, but not because you ask. I just want to know if he's okay."

"Whatever."

"You got a job for me too?" 'Kyle' asks.

"Yeah.. just stay here."

"Cool."

I run towards the Medbay area where I find Grace has locked the door.

"Open up!"

"No! You are being an idiot. How could you just insult our captain like that."

"I'm not insulting, I'm speaking the truth! Edgar is the Impostor, he has to be."

She opens the door. Her face is red.

"I think maybe you are the Impostor."

I chuckle. "That's idiotic."

This is not what we need right now, so I force myself past her.

"It is Edgar, I know it is."

She closes the door behind me, but she isn't done. Not by a long shot.

"You are a selfish, arrogant piece of shit Ricky. If I had known that from the start I would never have started something with you."

"You did know."

Grace looks at me funny.

"Of course you knew. I'm the good looking asshole, that's almost written on my forehead. Don't go act all high and mighty with me right now, you were in this for the physical stuff."

Grace starts to laugh cynically.

"Bye Ricky, go find yourself another girl to seduce."

I want to turn around frustrated, causing me to stand face-to-face with 'Kyle'.

"I told you to stay in the Cafeteria," I say angrily, not realizing who I'm talking to.

"I don't take orders from you."

He walks past me and then turns around.

"You exposed me out there, I can't have that."

"What do you mean?"

"You pulled me into the argument, that was a big mistake on your part. I can only succeed at this game when I don't accuse other people, I don't want to draw attention to myself."

Grace has a weird look on her face, and I realize the Impostor is seconds away from being exposed.

"Grace, can you leave us? Me and Kyle need to talk in private."

However, 'Kyle' shakes no.

"She can stay and hear this. Your little boyfriend here has been working with me the entire time. Every kill I made, that blood is on his hands too."

Grace pulls up an eyebrow, but then her eyes widen. Her mouth opens, closes again and then falls open. She drops the papers she had in her hand and steps back.

"You.."

"Me."

She pushes against the wall.

"But don't worry, I won't kill you right now. I am here to punish Ricky. You know that he asked me to kill you last?"

Grace seems a bit more confident. Or her hatred for me is now stronger than her fear for the Impostor. She walks towards me and raises her hand.

"Can I slap him?"

Funny how she asks permission from the Impostor.

"As hard as you can please."

I don't even try to dodge it, knowing that if I do, the Impostor might do something worse. The contact hurts, but Grace isn't strong enough to leave a mark on my face.

"Good, thank you Miss Grace."

She steps back and suddenly has a worried look back in her face.

"But you killed all those people…."

"I did."

I'm left out completely of this, but for now I'm cool with it. If this slap was the punishment, I can live with it.

"Ricky, do you think you are punished enough?" He turns to me.

Can he read minds or something?

I slowly nod. "That hurt like hell."

"Well I don't think you are."

In the blink of an eye, his fingers grow in size till they are the size of swords, and he stabs four of them into Grace.

"Noo!" I scream.

Grace's eyes are wide open from shock.

"I am truly sorry Miss Grace," the Impostor says. "But Ricky needs to be hurt, this is the way to do it."

When he pulls back, Grace drops to the ground. I hurry to sit with her.

"You bastard.."

The Impostor, whose fingers are back to normal size, grins.

"Every human feels stuff. Even a scumbag like you does. You might not care about anyone on this crew, but you care for Grace. I can feel stuff like that. Believe me when I say I am feeling sorry for Grace, I had half a mind to keep both of you alive at the end of this."

With that, 'Kyle' walks away. I turn my attention back towards Grace, who's looking at me.

"You… are…. the….worst.."

I feel tears. Tears? I have never felt tears. Never had them, and now they are rolling down my skin.

"I'm sorry Grace…"

But she's gone, her eyes are just staring into the nothingness. I softly lay her on one of the beds.

"I suggest you do not make me angry again," The Impostor says, standing in the opening of the door.

"Oh and you might consider turning against me. You know what I said about that, you will not like that. Our deal is still on and there are still three crewmates left to kill."

I stand up and face him.

"Okay, let's get this over with."
