Chapter Nine/ A Challenge from Lobelia Girls Academy!

Ouran Academy is big, bright, and beautiful. Lavish and posh, spacious and dreamy- and loud.

Usually, those traits are what Sora Kawashima finds most attractive about Ouran. When she moved back to Japan, she didn't have to go back to Ouran. Keito and Minato went there for high school, so of course, Sora's father felt comfortable sending the younger Kawashima kids to Ouran Academy as well. But he gave Sora a choice of going back to Ouran for high school and be there with her twin brother Shouta, go to Lobelia Academy, go to Sochi Private Arts Academy, or move back to Korea. After weighing her options, she thought going back to Ouran was the best choice.

"Sora? You look terrible!" Tamaki says, poking Sora's head as she laid slouched over on her desk.

...In times like these, Sora almost wishes she went with a different option.

The second-year girl sat up, rubbing her eyes. Her usually perky demeanor was absent, and dark circles rested under her usually bright and wide eyes. Unbeknownst to the other members of the host club, Sora's already-troublesome family was acting even more stressful than usual.

With the revelation of her step-mother, Nagi's pregnancy, and the new "no talking to your birth moms" rule implemented, her siblings have been causing more trouble than usual. Sora's twin Shouta took the news and the new rules the hardest and has been missing from both home and school for a week.

Tamaki tilts his head, worried by her silence. "You okay?"

"I'm fine!" Sora exclaims, trying to sound cheery "Just tired and... Between you and me? I think I just failed that modern Japanese Lit exam."

Kyoya, who sat next to Tamaki, shot Sora a look of suspicion, but Tamaki bought her lie. He places a hand on her shoulder, "Worry not, friend! That was only a practice exam preparing us for finals before the summer break in a month!"

Sora rubbed her temples, trying to calm down her headache. She smiles up at her club president, "Plus, afternoon classes are canceled for that cultural club exposition! Lucky me!"

Tamaki pulled his seat closer towards Sora and sat down excitedly, "The next few days are gonna be a lot of fun! Today is just to set up and prepare but tomorrow some schools will be performing!" He leans closer to Sora, "Any schools, in particular, you're interested in watching? I personally wanna see Fuyuji Academy's cultural club dance!"

Sora shrugs, "I guess Lobelia Academy? I heard their theater club is pretty awesome."

Kyoya clears his throat a bit, getting Tamaki and Sora's attention. "I hate to interrupt but should we still have club activities today or should we postpone for the cultural fair?"

"Oh right!" Tamaki stands up and pushes in his chair, "We should definitely still have a club meeting today! I'll text the others and tell them to make their way down to get ready."

Kyoya and Sora stand up and follow Tamaki out as well, bidding goodbye to some of their classmates and admirers. After a few moments of chatting while walking down the hallway, Sora pauses and stands still. She waves a hand, "Go on without me guys. I left something in the library this morning."

Tamaki and Kyoya nod and keep walking, leaving Sora to go retrieve her item. She was following the sound of Haruhi's voice, having heard the complaints of Haruhi and the faint teasing tone of the twins. Sora walks towards her, but stops and hides behind a post once she hears two other voices talking with Haruhi.

"Thanks for helping them out Haruhi!"

Sora could hear Haruhi's sigh. "No problem... I just wish they'd get their own coffee."

One of the girls giggle, "Well I'm not sure if that will ever happen, but at least they're having a good time! And it's all thanks to you-"

"And Sora-senpai!" The other one finished

Sora furrows her eyebrows in confusion at the praise but remains hidden behind the post, not wanting to interrupt. Haruhi expresses her own confusion and one of the girls continues her point.

"...We've been in the same class as the twins since middle school and they never used to be this cheerful and friendly!"

Sora closes her eyes and relaxes against the post, letting the image of the middle school-aged twins fill her head. Combed down hair, stoic and straight-faced, mean spirited — the twins are nothing like they were back in the day.

"They were so withdrawn and they didn't have many friends... It's like they were afraid to let anyone get too close. They didn't seem to like school at all, they were so bored by it."

The other girl nods, "But then everything changed one day... One of the girls in our class wanted to confess to one of them despite how brutal the twins rejected another classmate of ours... but Sora-senpai got to them first and slipped a letter in one of their desks. I don't know what she said or what they said but... After that, they both seemed to have a spark in their eyes that wasn't there before."

"And it got even better when the host club! Since then they've come out of their shells little-by-little, and when you came? It's like they finally found a friend to keep their spirits up!"

Sora smiles and sinks to the floor, her heart feeling full by the girls' conversation. The girl goes on, "And now with Sora-senpai back and hanging out with you guys it's like we finally get to see their personalities! Because of you two, the twins are having fun and living life each day to the fullest!"

Strangely, the praise and the closing of her eyes relaxed Sora so much, she fell asleep against that post. Her snores echoing throughout the hall and confusing some of her peers.

By the time Sora opened her eyes, the hallways were completely cleaned out. The silence was almost scary seeing how loud the halls of Ouran usually are by this time. From where she was sitting, she could spot the stage and booths being set up outside.

She sighs and stands up, checking her phone from any new messages and missed calls.

[Missed Calls (2) From Kai]

Sora walks down the halls and gasps at the missed calls from Kai. She shrugs off her surprise as the calls were probably just asking her if she was going to ride home separately today or not. That is until her phone buzzed in her hands, revealing sixteen new messages in the group chat she and her siblings shared. She walked closer towards the host club's music room, scrolling through her messages.

[Shouta]

Guys, I'm fine. I'm in Yokohama with my mom. Fuck Nagi and fuck that baby too. I'm not cutting my mom off.

[Shouta]

No offense Keito

Sora snorted and kept scrolling through*

[Kai]

Glad you had your coming-of-age dramatic meltdown but the only one who noticed you were gone were us, jerk. So quit protesting and come home

[Shouta]

Don't lie, I know me running away takes the prize

[Minato]

nope! I'll do you one better kid! Nagi found out about me and Akihiko!

Sora accidentally swung the music room door open too quickly and hit a girl standing in front of it. Overwhelmed by her accidentally hitting a guest and the text she got from her older brother, Sora quickly scrambled clumsily onto the floor to help the girl back up. She was from a different school and had short, bouncy dark red hair. Sora gave her a hand and stood her back onto her feet, "I'm so, SO sorry about that! I-I wasn't paying any attention and-"

"You are gorgeous!"

The girl Sora accidentally hit spun around her, examining and praising the color of Sora's skin, the moisture of her hands, and the sparkle of her eyes. She clasped her hand around Sora's, much to the older girl's confusion.

Another girl, wearing the same uniform as the other and with long light-brown hair, smiles, and nods. Sora makes a face, "Uh... Thank you? And... Sorry about hitting you earlier."

"No problem at all, love~" The girl exclaims, still holding Sora's hand. Awkwardly, Sora pulls away and walks over towards her fellow club members. The girl with light-brown hair frowns, "Ah, I see. So you have been bewitched by these scoundrels my dear?"

Tired and more confused than anything, Sora rolls her eyes and ignores the girls' question. She looks towards the twins for some reference.

Kaoru smiles and places a hand on Sora's shoulder, "You didn't miss much. These girls were just telling us how men are lowly lifeforms-"

Hikaru places his hand on her other shoulder, "Who 'don't care about anything but perpetuating their testosterone-laden image' and-"

"Then you hit her with the door!" The twins finish in unison, cheery music playing as they announced that. Sora sighs and deadpans, irritated by the large vocabulary of the strange guest. Tamaki continued talking to the girls, intrigued by their grace and blatant disrespect of the club... Or rather, the "lowly lifeforms" in the room they were seemingly disgusted by.

The other members just congregated by the couch, already growing bored of the sight in front of them. Hikaru pokes Sora's forehead, "What's up with you?"

She looks up at the older twin in confusion. Sora's eyes were still dark and puffy and, unknown to her, she lacked the cheery glow that usually defined her (which was very noticeable as soon as she stepped into the room).

"Nothing?" She answers, swatting his hand off of her. Hikaru opens his mouth to protest but is interrupted by the appearance of a third mystery guest.

"Maybe something like, 'I would never leave my lover alone'"

The air grew sparkly and dramatic music seemed to erupt out of nowhere as a handsome girl stood in the door frame, holding Haruhi in her arms.

The handsome girl swung Haruhi around with ease, "If we fight, it'll be together! If we fail, we fail together! Even if I were to die... I promise you I will never leave your side, my love." She tilted her head down and brought her lips to Haruhi's hand.

Sora sighs, sensing an annoying amount of trouble from these girls. Tamaki, on the other hand, backed away and started gasping in shock, pointing an accusatory finger at the tall girl.

The two other girls approached the third and soon, all three of them were draped over Haruhi, uncomfortably touching the girl and praising her as if she were a dog. Sora hopes that the club would take a "just ignore them" approach-

"DON'T YOU GO TOUCHING MY HARUHI WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!"

Once again, Sora sighs, not even reacting when Tamaki goes flying backward when the handsome-girl punches the mess out of him. Sora pinches the bridge of her nose, "I pretty much got the gist of this now... You three-" She motions towards the guests, "-Are from Lobelia Academy and you hate men, is that right?"

The tall girl smirks, "That's correct-"

Without warning the lights dim and the Lobelia uniforms are tossed into the air.

"Lobelia~"

"Lobelia~"

"Lobelia~!"

The handsome-girl tips her hat, "St. Lobelia Academy, high school second-year, Benio Amakusa."

"Lobelia~"

"Second-year student, Chizuru Maihara!"

"Lobelia~"

"And first-year student-" This girl shoots a wink towards Sora, "Hinako Tsuwabuki!"

"We are members of St Lobelia Academy's elite white Lilly league! Also known as-"

"The Zuka Club!"

[The Zuka Club]

The host club merely stared at the girls, shocked by the display in front of them. The color slowly drains out of Tamaki, who was the most surprised. "The...Zuka...Club...?" He murmurs nervously.

The twins, on the other hand, go into a fit of laughter and fall onto the ground, mocking the guests for their goofy costumes and unsolicited musical performance. Overwhelmed, Tamaki falls onto the ground too, scared by the bold and brash attitude of the "Zuka Club". Agitated, Sora opens her mouth to speak up but is interrupted by the rumbling of the floor.

"You shouldn't underestimate the Zuka Club!"

Sora felt her mood fall, annoyed by the guest appearance of the half-french girl (who hasn't shown up since she 'trained' that elementary school boy months ago).

Renge didn't notice how unwelcomed her presence was and merely took a sip out of her teacup, "I may not know much about instant coffee, but I'm fascinated by girls' schools!"

"Instant coffee?" Sora mumbled in confusion, feeling out of the loop. Renge doesn't hear her and continues, "St. Lobelia Academy~ It is truly a women's world there! The Zuka Club is full of popular, strong young maidens who consider women to be superior to men in every single way! The Club prides itself on its thirty-year history! A club by maidens, for maidens-"

Renge's cheerful explanation of the Zuka Club was cut short by Sora's exasperated sigh. Sora's eye twitches, "So... they made a club just talking about how women are 'superior to men in every way' is that right?"

"That correct!" Renge nods

"And.. you three are here because-" Sora, who was acting incredibly out of character by not playing along with everyone's antics today, waves her hands around dramatically "Ohhh the host club is a bad club made up by men, is that right?"

The three guests don't speak up for a moment, by the tall girls' nods, "I would word it differently, but... That is correct. This club-"

"No need to explain anything more... Renge got me to understand everything I need to," Sora says, raising a hand. "Thanks, Renge." Though Sora was acting kind of rude towards the Lobelia girls, Renge was pleased to have helped out someone on the host club side and nods enthusiastically. "Well, I've always been intrigued by Lobelia Academy but... I could never go there!" Renge sinks back down into the floor, "What would I do without any boys!?"

After watching Renge disappear into nowhere, 'Beni-Bara' stepped forward, a hand placed firmly on her hip. "I have to say, I'm very disappointed by your blatant disrespect, fair maiden." She directs a slight right towards Sora. Sora scoffs.

"Your club is stupid and doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than to be just mad at men."

The host club members, now also joined by Haruhi, watched as Sora stepped forward, looking as if she were about to go head-to-head with the Zuka Club leader. Their eyes widened, not quite used to seeing Sora get angry at anyone that wasn't Hikaru. The youngest Zuka Club member, who had made it clear she was a fan of Sora, steps forward to diffuse the tension. "You just don't understand what we do over at Lobelia, dearest!"

The girl with light brown hair fiddled with her fingers and looked to the side, eyes relaxed as if she were in a fantasy, "A maidens beauty... it means we possess the strength to not give in to power or lust..."

The first-year Lobelia girl sat on the floor and crossed her arms, "We've had quite enough of oppressive male contempt for woman-kind!"

Benio smirked and offered her hand to Hinako, who accepted it and went into Benio's arms. "Our pride is affirmed by our relationships based upon equality... Because we're the same-sex... And yes, that includes relationships of love too."

By the end of their little spiel, Sora had sat with the twins on the couch, watching Hikaru and Kaoru face each other in smash* on their Nintendo switch with Honey. Sora offered the girls the bare minimum of acknowledgment, "Yeah yeah... You see here that none of them care so why don't you guys just hit the road?"

Hinako giggles, "Oh come now... I find it hard to believe these silly little boys don't have anything to say about our sublime female love~"

Hikaru wins the match and then looks up, "What the hell is she talking about?"

"Beats me..." Kaoru answers, offering his controller to Sora so she could play the game. Sora politely declined, and just offered to continue watching. The girl with light-brown hair offers Sora a look of pity, "You should feel sorry for her, Hinagiku... She's been bewitched by pigs who don't know how to defend themselves since their patented host skills didn't work on us... And now they're all flustered and she doesn't know what to do with herself and can't seem to even think for herself."

Sora stands up and walks towards the girls again, having successfully been riled up by Chizuru's look of pity. "First of all, you watch your fucking mouth. Don't you ever say anything like that about me."

Chizuru blinks frantically, but soon shakes off her shock and closes her eyes "I apologize... I didn't mean to strike a nerve, I was simply just explaining your perspective~" She claims, her tone cute and artificially polite.

Haruhi, who had been silent since the moment she was first being swung around, gently touched the back of Sora's arm to calm her down. "If you girls are going to be rude I think you all should just do us a favor and leave." She says, coming to Sora's defense and slightly glaring at Benio.

Benio sighs and shakes her head, "So it seems they've gotten you too, fair maiden."

Benio stomps passed Haruhi and Sora and puts a fist into the air, "The host clubs president may be a pretty little halfer, but he shouldn't be using his looks to create a fictitious romance! Fooling the hearts of these poor young maidens-" She motions to Haruhi and Sora, the latter of whom nearly gags at the accusation "-is demeaning! Your so-called 'club activities' are nothing more than debasing macho fantasies."

"I promise we will bring you guys down... The Ouran host club will be abolished!"

Without warning, Tamaki runs over angrily. "YOU GIRLS HAVE IT ALL WRONG!"

He runs towards Sora, who was about to leave this whole "Zuka Club" mess to the rest of them. The blond hisses, "DON'T YOU SEE THERE'S NOTHING TO BE GAINED IN A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TWO WOMEN! IF THAT'S THE CASE WHY DID GOD CREATE ADAM AND EVE!?"

Much to the surprise of everyone, including Sora herself, Sora's knee instinctively found it's way to Tamaki, who had slipped on a banana peel. Because of him falling and her movement, her knee rammed into Tamaki's... male parts, causing the blond immediate sharp pain. He crouched onto the floor, going ghostly pale from pain.

Sora covered her mouth in surprise but soon ran out of the room with no explanation.

"Sora-senpai!" Haruhi exclaims. She attempts to follow after the Kawashima girl but is pulled back from the Zuka Club leader. Benio shakes her head and sighs, pulling Haruhi into a tight hug. Tamaki doesn't even react, as he is still on the floor from pain.

"That fool laying on the floor should serve as an example: We will not tolerate this club's blatant villainy and male bravado any longer! Now that we've seen such a sad display, we can not allow this maiden to stay here any longer! We'll prepare her paperwork and bring her to Lobelia at once, and we will welcome her to the Zuka Club at once!"

All the host club members' eyes widen in shock, a silence falling over all of them. Though her declaration surprised Haruhi, her focus was still on Sora's out of character behavior. She gently pushed Benio away and raised her arms in defense, "Listen, I... clearly have some thinking to do. But I have to go make sure Sora-senpai is okay."

Benio smirks, "Why... of course... We'll give you some time to think about it."

"Your friend too!" Hinako adds in happily, blushing slightly

"Well, then... Adieu~"

The three Lobelia girls twirl away, pleased by what just went down in the music room. Haruhi, without saying anything, runs out of the room as well, attempting to catch up to Sora.

As Haruhi set out to find her friend, just trying to make sure she was okay, the host club started panicking behind to now-closed doors.

Tears shout out of Tamaki's eyes "WAHHHH! What are we going to do! When I wanted Sora in this club I just wanted her and Haruhi to be close girly-girl friends! NOT SO CLOSE THEY LEAVE TOGETHERRRR!" he wailed, stomping his foot up and down.

Kaoru rolls his eyes, "Well you sure are complaining a lot for someone who started it."

"NO, I DIDN'T!" Tamaki protests, still crying from the sight of Haruhi leaving the room. Hikaru nods his head, "You totally did! Something about your little 'Adam and Eve' spiel made Sora mad enough to hit you... Say what you want but Sora's never been mad enough to hit me, so you must have made her mad on a whole other level."

"Sh-should we apologize?! I mean, it's not like Sora's likes girls! So why did she even get mad!"

"Tama-chan, you have to talk to Sora all on your own and figure that out!" Honey scolds, "And we have to make sure Haru-chan doesn't leave us too!"

After a few moments, Honey bursts into tears "W-what if they both transfer awayyyyy!" He cries, clutching Usa-Chan close to him. Mori picks him up and hugs him, trying to comfort his cousin and companion.

"It would be so... boring without Sora around," The twins say in unison

Kyoya pushes up his glasses, "...Lobelia and the Zuka girls could easily pay off Haruhi's debt as well. Considering Haruhi was smart enough to get a full scholarship to Ouran, that scholarship and more would carry over to Lobelia as well."

By the sound of it, practically everyone in the host club has already given up. Tamaki places a hand on the window and regains his energy, "Calm down gentleman! Listen to what I have to say and everything will work out!"

His eyes sparkle with confidence

"I already have a plan!"

...

...

...

"...Was just watching Sora a part of your plan?"

[The Kawashima Residence, 7:05 PM]

Tamaki (much to the twins' irritation) hid behind a large shrub bush in Sora's front yard, watching the girl play guitar by her front door. Tamaki announced to everyone (besides Haruhi and Sora) in a group chat that he had planned on reconciling with Sora and thus headed to her house to talk. She had headphones in and was writing something in her notebook, so she was way too preoccupied to notice her classmate and friend stalking her. On a facetime call with the twins, Tamaki shook his head, "No it wasn't but... I'm scared!"

"Don't be lame, boss." Kaoru teases, "You act like our dear devil-dog has a bad temper or something..."

Tamaki shivers, not emotionally prepared to be yelled at like he's seen Sora do. Hikaru shrugs, "If she kills you or something then we'll let Haruhi know, okay?"

"Yeah, maybe that will make her stay"

"Without the boss around we can finally marry Haruhi without him butting in~"

"We'll have a wedding in England and our honeymoon in the Bahamas."

"...Honey-senpai can be flower girl"

"...Sora-senpai can be best-man."

After a few moments of awkward silence and Tamaki's screen being paused, the twins stop, bothered by Tamaki not responding to their obvious ploy to get him riled up. Without any warning, the call ends, leaving the twins confused.

Unknown to them, Sora's bodyguard Junichiro had picked Tamaki up and nearly crushed the boy to death in a chokehold, having spotted him behind the bush while Hikaru and Kaoru were rambling. The host club president's screams pierced through the quiet and previously peaceful air, causing Sora to notice them and come to his aid.

"Junichiro, stop!" Sora sighs and rolls her eyes, "He's not a creep this is my friend, Tamaki, remember?"

"What!? Oh..." He slightly loosens his grip on Tamaki but doesn't let him go, "Why is he here!"

"I don't know!"

"You know you aren't supposed to have any male friends over, especially-"

"I know!"

Junichiro and Sora exchange a look, just as Tamaki started to see the light from lack of proper oxygen. Sighing, Junichiro lets the boy go, Tamaki, falling limp onto the grass. Sora thanks Junichiro and sends him off to patrol at a different part of the house, sitting next to Tamaki behind the shrub bush. As soon as he regains breath and consciousness, he sits up to sit side-by-side with the dark-haired girl.

Sora brings her knees up to her chest, "Sorry I kneed you earlier... That was uncalled for."

Tamaki shakes his head and smiles, "Was it?" Sora looks at him with wide eyes but allows him to continue, "I've made you mad before, I've seen you mad before, but you've never been so offended you hit someone like that..."

Sora pouts and shakes her head, "I wasn't 'offended' so to speak but..."

She scoots away from Tamaki, fully remembering what the boy had said just hours earlier, "Attacking someone on something they can't change about themselves like that... You should know better.*"

The girl continues, "Things like how much money you have, who your parents are, your skin color, your sex, your race, what sex you're attracted to– if you genuinely attack anyone for things like that you are objectively a bad person."

Tamaki opened his mouth to defend himself but couldn't find the words. He felt his hands grow cold and throat go dry. He doesn't care if people are attracted to the same sex or not, but the saying isn't hateful towards gay people would be strange because of his rant earlier. His spine tingled from embarrassment in disappointment in himself.

Sora stares at him out of the corner of her eye and smiles.

"Tamaki, you're so childish."

He flinches at her words but is surprised by her gentle tone, "You act so stupidly and do and say the first thing on your mind whenever anything happens... You're not homophobic, or whatever, you were just trying to make the Lobelia girls feel just as stupid as they made you feel... So you attacked them on the basis of them liking other girls because you though that would cut-deep."

"...Which wasn't right of me." Tamaki shakes his head, "I'm so sorry. I was completely out of line."

"Yeah pretty much... But you're not a bad person, just... stupid."

Before Tamaki could say anything else Sora closes her tired eyes shut, "My step-mother is pregnant, she's forbidding us from seeing our mothers because she's a psychotic bitch, my twin brother is acting out, and Nagi... she found out that my older brother Minato, the one you sang with at the party*, she found out he's gay."

Tamaki's eyes widen, surprised by both the revelation itself and the fact Sora was being so honest with him. She stands up, "His boyfriend Akihiko is the drummer in his band and Nagi claims to just be 'concerned the public will find out and cause the group to disband' but that's a load of crap. A-anyways, I've just been worried about him and stressed by my family as a whole. Sorry, I took it out on you."

Tamaki shakes his head, "No, no... Sorry I contributed to that stress."

Sora, for the first time all day, genuinely grinned and offered a hand to Tamaki.

"Don't worry about me! Let's just make sure Haruhi doesn't transfer!"

"Be honest..."

...

...

...

"...Does this dress make us look fat?"

"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Sora fell onto the floor, tear welling in her bright and happy eyes. The twins, donning matching teal and light yellow ballgowns, posed in front of the second-year girl, pretending to be concerned by their appearance. The Hitachiin's smile, happy to make Sora laugh after her moody behavior just the day before. Though they don't understand why she got so mad at Tamaki (as the blond kept it a secret) they were just happy there was no awkward beef between them anymore. Honey spun around, wearing a pink ballgown and hair extensions that made him appear to have a ponytail.

"Sora-chan! Sora-chan!" He exclaims, tugging on Sora's arm to lift her up "I'm like a big sister now!"

Sora giggles and stands up, "I-I guess so, senpai..." She wipes her eyes, "I think this is a great idea guys... Truly."

Tamaki finished zipping up his red ballgown, "It is, isn't it!" He put on some more lipstick, "Sora told me how Haruhi came to her complaining about how men don't understand them! What better way to make sure Haruhi knows we understand her feminine trouble than to become feminine ourselves!"

"You're a genius, boss!" Sora praises, giving Tamaki a hearty thumbs-up

So... Sora told a complete and utter lie. Truthfully, Haruhi did catch up to Sora after they both ran out of the club room to make sure her older friend was okay. They did talk about how the Lobelia girls want Haruhi to transfer... but the whole "men don't understand me" thing never came out of Haruhi's mouth, and the first-year honors student made it perfectly clear to Sora that she had no interest in transferring.

...But they don't need to know that.

The faint sound of girls talking outside of the music room interrupted their conversation. The host club all got into their places and went silent, preparing to complete the final step of "operation: keep Haruhi at Ouran!"

Sora runs towards the door and cuts the lights, just as the door slowly opens. It takes everything in the girl's power to not burst into laughter, but she holds it together and exchanged a look with the very confused Haruhi. Sora walks over and places a hand on the youngest Lobelia girl's shoulder, "Prepare to lose this battle, Zuka Club" she teases. Before Hinako could ask Sora anything, Kaoru began the performance.

"Ouran~"

"Ouran~"

Mori cleared his throat, "...Ouran~"

"Ouran~"

Honey screams, "Ouran!"

At that, Sora remembers her cue and turns on the lights. The lights flash above the dressed-in-drag version of the host club. All the girls' mouths fell open, and Sora had to once again cover her mouth to prevent herself from laughing.

"Ouran~"

"Host Club...! Welcomes you~!"

The Lobelia girls and Haruhi were pale from how overwhelmed the sight made them all feel. Tamaki, noticing Haruhi's shocked expression, dances over to the honors student, "Oh Haruhi! Welcome back!" He sings, his voice a tad bit more cheery than usually

Honey twirls around, "Look, Haru-chan, I'm a princess now! Aren't I cute?"

Benio sputters for a few moments before balling her hands into a fist, "I-I...! What is the meaning of this!? Are you attempting to mock womankind!?"

"What...?" Tamaki flips his wig ponytail, enjoying this way too much "That's not it at all! Everything's going according to plan! You see, Haruhi and Sora alike are bothered by the masculinity that overwhelms are club room every day. By doing this, we are attempting to show our girls that we are open-minded! Graceful! Kind! Beautiful! Non-judgemental! Everything they can find in 'girl friends' they can find in us as well!"

The girls all went white and stiff from shock again, but Tamaki continues, dancing around.

"Haruhi, you may be enamored by the idea of the Zuka Club! But stay with us and you gain a club full of brothers, but sisters as well!"

Sora wheezes, "A-and you get to stay with me as well!" She whispers through laughs, remembering her one line.

Haruhi had absolutely no expression. She was completely speechless

The twins walk over, "We're the Hitachiin sisters! Which one of us is prettier~"

Honey skips over as well, "Listen Haru-chan, you and Sora-chan can call me big sis from now on!"

The honors student remained stone-stiff and blank-faced. Mori and Kyoya took that as their sign to do their pitch. Kyoya, having nothing to say and feeling somewhat embarrassed, just kept his smile hidden behind a purple fan. Mori (who was the only one in a male costume as no dresses fit his large stature) merely shook a tambourine and offered Haruhi a small smile.

"Why you...?" Benio stomps over to Sora, lighting grabbing the girl from the collar of her shirt "How could you let these idiots disrespect us like this!? Have you-"

Benio's angry outburst was cut short by the sound of Haruhi's laughter. Surprised, Benio releases the now-smiling Sora. The girl fell onto her knees, gripping her stomach and kicking her feet as if she was having a full-body reaction to the sight of the host club in such ugly-looking drag. Haruhi starts crying, "I knew you guys were goofballs but jeez! S-sora-senpai were you in on this?"

Sora nods, and finally releases the laughter she had been suppressing since turning the lights back on. The two girls laugh together, playfully teasing the hosts. The twins and Honey, excited by Haruhi's laughter, chase the girl around the room playfully. Sora's laughter died down and she just smiled, happy to see everyone having such fun. Hinako looked up at the hostess, "I take it she's made her decision then..?"

Sora nods and winks, "Sorry but there wasn't a chance in hell she was ever going to leave." She confirmed, much to the Lobelia girls' chagrin

Haruhi, remembering they had guests in the room, stood up and took a deep breath to control her laughter. She bowed politely, "I'm sorry but... I have no reason at all to leave Ouran. An all-girls school sounds interesting and I think your values and clubs are very... unique. But I worked hard and came to this school with a goal and a plan in mind and I don't plan on not achieving what I want. I'm sorry you find the host club to be such an evil thing but... " Haruhi smiles and closes her eyes, "I always knew I wasn't going to leave it."

Tamaki cried dramatically with tears streaming down his face and mascara running down his cheeks. He paused for a moment before glaring and marching over to Haruhi, "Hold on– if you knew you weren't going to transfer then why did you leave so angrily yesterday!?" He demanded, jabbing a finger into Haruhi's shoulder. Haruhi shrugs

"I wanted to make sure Sora was okay..."

"Which brings me to my next point!" He grabs Sora's shoulders and shakes her, "If you knew Haruhi was never going to leave why didn't you just tell us!"

Sora sticks out her tongue but doesn't say anything. Her actions spoke louder than words and Tamaki merely sighed and let her go, understanding that she just wanted to have something to laugh about. He shook off his annoyance, just happy to have Haruhi back.

"We're not going to give up on you maiden"

The three host club members stopped their banter and looked at the Zuka Club leader.

Benio raises a fist, "I swear that someday we will come and rescue you from this place! And when we do, the Ouran host club will be abolished!" Benio smirks and rolls her eyes, "Well then... adieu."

[Until we meet again]

The Zuka Club twirls off, with Hinako offering Sora a small wave goodbye and Benio shooting Haruhi one last wink. Sora snorts and waves off the text box, "Until we meet again...? Hopefully, we don't meet them again."

She slams the doors shut and the lights cut out as if on cue. Renge appears out of the floor again, eating a banana.

"And so a new rival, the Zuka Club, has appeared... Now our story should get even more exciting...! What's going to happen to our beloved host club next? Keep reading to find out! Hang in there, host club! Don't give up guys!"

Sora furrows her eyebrows together in thought, Wait... if Renge watches us all the time and watched and listened to all that go down... Does she know Haruhi's a girl?

"Hey!" Tamaki shouts, interrupting Sora's thoughts "It's not your job to cook things up!"

At that, two banana peels are strategically placed under both Sora and Tamaki, who both slip right onto the floor.

-Chapter End-

WOO! Sorry, that took so long! I promise the next chapter will be out much sooner!

Chapter (*) Notes:

-This fanfic takes place in 2019 it's modern Ouran so Sora has an iPhone. Her siblings (yes including keito even though he's a dick) are all in the same group chat. Keito doesn't check it and has it silenced anyway so it doesn't matter

-Hikaru and Kaoru are playing Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo Switch

-Minato is Sora's older brother with long light brown hair who was in "Kyoya and Sora's Awkward First Date" and "You're not invited!" He's a professional music artist in a band

-Sora is saying Tamaki should know better since he's treated poorly by his grandmother for being illegitimate (something that's not his fault)

-You might notice the whole "uwu the host club steal Haruhi's things and sells them" was absent? That's because Sora snitched on them for doing that way before the Lobelia Girls came and Haruhi put a stop to it

-Comments-

purplekittycatofthemoon- Thank you! I was trying to make the relationship between Kai and Sora somewhat similar between Honey and Chika. Kai is just a kid and struggles with her family dynamic and feelings of jealousy, but she doesn't hate Sora ofc.

Guest- Justice for Satoshi :( I just don't understand why they cut him out he's adorable

Keekaa- Sora's family represents the idea of complaining about a poor situation that hurts you and those you care about but doing nothing to stop or fight against it. The host clubs problem is that there are underlying issues that they have that they all ignore and pretend aren't there (as acknowledged by Kaoru later in the series) They could all learn from each other :)

mide1718- There's going to be a chapter about Nagi and Akio (Sora's dad) like three or four chapters from now explaining their dynamic and history but you're right in the sense Akio doesn't like her or get sexual with her often so hmmmm that is weird they even have a kid together. I won't say much now ;) but no, Nagi did not drug him.

Also, Keito doesn't really hate his siblings, he's just bothered by them. Keito grew up bothered by the fact his dad kept cheating on his mom (why wouldn't he be lol) but as he got older he kind of adopted a "that's none of my business" approach but still remained closer to his mom. He likes Kai the most, is indifferent toward the youngest kid Yori, never really got along with Minato despite them being closest in age, and doesn't like the twins because Shouta is an asshole towards Nagi and Sora bothers Nagi because of her close resemblance to her mom (which Kai points out) But no he doesn't hate them so to speak

THANK YOU FOR THE AWESOME REVIEWS GUYS OMG I LOVE YOUUUUU
