Simon had gotten to Velvet's house in no time at all with all the baking ingredients he had bought at the store. And without even waiting to knock, the twisted racer entered the NPC's home and shut the door behind him. It's not like Simon needed permission to open up peoples doors or anything, soon he would run his place and nothing would stop him.
"H-Hey! Who are you?" A city-thick accent said, and Simon looked around to see a short hybrid kid (who looked to be part reptilian or something),
"Oh, I'm Simon, I'm going to be your mother's future master." Simon bragged, all while he stared down at the kid in amusement and curiosity,
"N-No your not! Mama wouldn't date a sleazeball like you!" Pip huffed his wings beating slightly in annoyance and slight hostility.
"Hmm…..well see about that, brat." The twisted racer replied, as he glared slightly at the child this kid wasn't like the other children. He didn't trust blindly or simply tolerate a person because "mommy and daddy like them", no he was much smarter then that. And while Simon appreciated smarts or gut instincts like that in his new kingdom that he would rebuild, dealing with this brat right now would be a hindrance to his plans if he wasn't careful.
"Hey Pip, are you okay? Where ya at?" Another child's voice piped up, and in an instant Simon changed his demeanor as six children ran down the stairs. The one who was leading the group was a dark skinned boy with a blue hoodie. Three of the children Simon could recognize as Sebastian's own flesh and blood (that lucky bastard apparently had breeded). Another girl in the group nearly matched Velvet to a tea but her head shape and eye color were slightly different. And finally there was a sickly pale girl who's hair was nothing but a lifeless curtain of black hair. "Who are you? You better not have hurt him!" The boy in blue said, immediately casting a look of suspicion and hate at Simon,
"I'm Simon, Sebastian's brother, and I had come over to help the beautiful Velvet with a few things." Simon said, laying on the charm and kindness in order to fool the other children into trusting him. And, in an instant he saw his words work there magic, as the child look-alike of Velvet and Sebastian's kin immediately lit up upon hearing him say "Sebastian's brother". While the girl with the curtain of black hair appeared to still be a little weary after revealing who he was related to.
"Tha-That's not what he said before!" Pip said, as him and Cal stayed firm in their hostility and suspicion of Simon. They didn't care if he was related to the games resident cinnamon roll or not, something about him just couldn't be trusted.
"Oh relax, Pippylongstocking, sorry about him he wants to be some kind of detective when he gets older." Ruby said, as she pushed her way between the two boys and made her way over to him,
"Hey! Don't call him that!" Cal snapped knowing full well that his secret boyfriend hated that nickname.
"And he wants to be the junior detective's husband." Ruby jokingly added,
"Stop that!" The two boys said clearly not amused with the others statement as their cheeks flushed a vivid red color.
"Do you wanna play with us? Daddy always plays with us, if he has the time." Martin asked, with a similar excited and happy look in his eye that his father always seemed to have,
"Oh well, I would, but I would hate to hold up Velvet. Where is she anyway?" Simon asked while resisting the urge to roll his eyes in annoyance. Of course, Sebastian would play with his kids like the immature mental patient he was. But if he wanted to give off the same friendly vibe as his idiotic brother then Simon needed to play the part and act a little similar to him in a few ways. Plus…..Simon had to admit….while certain children did on his nerves a little (like Pip) overall he did have a bit of a soft spot for them (not that Simon would admit that or anything).
"Miss Cupcake left to get a few extra ingredients, she should be back in an hour or two." Faith and Hope simultaneously replied,
"Oh okay, I guess I can play with all of you then, but let's try not to make too much of a mess." The twisted racer stated and in an instant Ruby, Faith, Hope, and Martin surrounded him and dragged him upstairs. All while Blair, Pip, and Cal watched him carefully before climbing up the stairs in order to follow the others.
(Three Hours Later)
Velvet hoped that Simon wouldn't be too cross with her.
In truth, she hadn't meant to have to go to the store again, but the kids had the brilliant idea of seeing which sweets Ivan liked best. Granted, Sebastian's kids, Blair, and Ruby had the common decency to feel guilty once they realized how much they had given the dog. But Cal had felt worryingly apathetic about the well being of an animal while Pip had been disturbingly interested in how Ivan would (quote on quote) "pump the toxins out of his body". Pip had even started getting Cal to grab him an empty "Observation Book" from his room so he could right down notes and antidotes about "Patient 879". Velvet had to admit, she was proud that Pip seemed to want to know so much about biology (and that Cal had wanted to help him so much).
But…..it was very concerning, disturbing, and worrying that the two boys didn't seem to care about an animals life in the end. Granted, this could have been a developmental problem (due to years of being in the worst orphanage known to man) but that didn't mean that the problem shouldn't be fixed. If anything Velvet was glad to have caught the issue before said issues became something much bigger or dangerous in the further. Even if this fiasco resulted in Velvet having to get more groceries and having to drop Ivan off at the vet for the rest of the day (in order to get his stomach pumped). Heck, Velvet had already texted Torvald to inform her of Cal's behavior just to make sure that things were taken care of on that end.
After all, Cal was a real sweetheart at the end of the day and Velvet would hate to see anything happen to the boy because of something he didn't understand or couldn't control. However, Velvet was quick to snap out of her thoughts, as she saw her house come into view and before swiftly parking into the garage. And as the cupcake baker got herself out of the car, closed the garage, and picked up her bags she swore that she heard the sound of muffled children's laughter.
"Hmm….Hopefully, those kids haven't run him ragged." Velvet commented, as she picked up her pace and headed towards the door that would take her straight to the kitchen. And once the cupcake baker got herself inside her house she immediately was bombarded by the sound of laughter coming from the living room. This immediately made Velvet cringe at the thought of those kids potentially tearing apart her living room (like they tended to do when they got too active when playing). So, with this thought in mind (on top of her worries about Simon) Velvet didn't waste anytime putting her groceries down and hurrying towards the room.
Only for her eyes to widen slightly at what she bore witness to the sight of Simon actually playing with the children.
With the twisted racer appearing to have joined the kids in on some in door water balloon fight as he somehow managed to get Pip and on his side. In most cases Velvet would be furious at this sight but the way Simon was acting kinda reminded him of Sebastian in a way. Heck, if Velvet was sure she was seeing things correctly, she swore that Simon's eyes and hair appeared brighter then they should have been. But….that couldn't be right…..and as much as Velvet wanted to allow this to play out she couldn't let this continue for the sake of the integrity of her own home. So, after sparing a few moments to take some pictures on her phone, Velvet put her fingers into her mouth and whistled loud enough to overpower the voices of Simon and the children.
"Oh-Uh……Hi Velvet, you see I—" Simon stammered, with the glow in his hair and eyes starting to fade the moment he was caught playing with the kids,
"Save it, I don't care. The damage you did is a drop in the bucket compared to what these kids have done to my house. Now go upstairs and change, I have some men's clothes that should fit you in the guest room. Then once your done meet me in the kitchen for baking." Velvet gently ordered and the twisted racer obeyed clearly a little sheepish about his brief moment of childishness.
"Oh well, looks like the funs over." Pip commented, with him and the other kids slowly sneaking away towards the stairs,
"Not so fast, all of you are cleaning up this water, mops are in the hall closet." The cupcake baker sternly said and on cue all the kids groaned in frustration and announce with Cal in particular being the loudest.
