Hey everyone! Long time no see. I have no excuses for being so late with updating other than the fact I was having major writers block and been pretty depressed, but I'm feeling a bit better now! I got some questions about this but yes, I did delete my tumblr and I have no intention of going back. Tumblr is a toxic mess of a site and I don't enjoy it or its negative energy so I yeeted it out of my life. I hope everyones been staying safe in the brink of Covid! Remember, wash your hands! Wear your mask! Social distance! Don't forget to vote in the upcoming US presidentialelection either. Thanks for sticking with me this long everyone! I hope you enjoy this chapter!XxXxXxXxXxX
It's been a week since Lucy's date with Natsu. The blonde's heart was still pounding just thinking about what he made her feel that night.
He made her feel beautiful.
Since that night, things have changed between them. Natsu came over more, they touched more, they spent more time together; her, Natsu and Kade. They felt like a true family.
A small smile played on her lips at this thought as she brushed her long hair. Today was Kade's first soccer game and Natsu had offered to pick her and Kade up for it. Wanting to spend more time with him, she agreed knowing her son would be thrilled with it too.
Kade really loved Natsu, and that thought alone made Lucy's heart soar. How could they have gotten so lucky to have someone fit to perfectly in their lives? Lucy finished brushing her hair, straightening the wrinkles out the black, long sleeved shirt she decided to wear. The white skinny jeans that accompanied really brought out her curves and for once in her life, Lucy welcomed it. Before she wouldn't care how she looked or how she dressed, but since Natsu came into their lives she wanted to dress pretty, look pretty… feel pretty. For herself or for Natsu she wasn't sure.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of a ball bouncing off the wall. Lucy sighed before shouting, "Kade! How many times have I told you not to kick the ball in the house! We just replaced the last lamp you broke!"
"Sorry Mommy!" Her son yelled back. "Natsu said I had to warm up before the game!"
Shaking her head, Lucy walked into the room where her son was. Her little boy stared at the ground, upset that he was caught. Lucy smiled slightly and bent down to look her son in the eyes. "Natsu's picking us up so you can warm up on the field, not our living room."
Kade, still pouting, nodded at his Mother's words before they heard a knock on their front door. "Natsu!" The little tyke shouted, running towards the door and opening it immediately. When the door was fully open, Kade launched himself at the pink haired male, putting his small arms around one of his legs. Natsu chuckled in response, ruffling the tyke's hair.
"Nice to see you too Kade." Lucy felt her face heat up when his dark eyes met hers, not missing the way his eyes softened at her. "Hey Lucy."
She smiled back at him before standing up fully, walking over to him and her son. "Hey."
Lucy watched as his gaze went to her son, slightly embarrassed that Kade was still clinging onto his leg like a koala in a tree. Luckily it didn't seem to bother Natsu, he even hoisted the little boy into his arms before asking, "Ready for your first soccer game kiddo?"
"Yeah!" Kade said a little too loudly next to Natsu's ear, making the adult tilt his away. "I was even practicing! Mommy got upset though…"
Panic set into Lucy when Natsu looked back to her, heart hammering Lucy began to explain herself, "He was practicing inside the living room, he already broke our lamp once before and I just got it replaced. I can't afford another one."
"Yeah kiddo, you shouldn't be practicing inside." Natsu began in a soft yet stern voice. "We get there before the game starts to warm up. There's plenty of time to warm up there."
"I sorry." Kade said in a small voice. "I just really excited…"
"We know you are sweetheart." Lucy said gently, putting her hand on his face. "I'm excited to watch you play. You've been doing so good in practice!"
Kade's face lit up. "Yeah! Natsu makes practice fun!"
Natsu chuckled at Kade's enthusiasm. "If you think practice is fun, just wait to play in a game." He turned his eyes to Lucy. "Ready?"
Lucy nodded in response, following Natsu out the door before turning back around to lock it. Once she secured the door she watched as Natsu fastened Kade in his car seat before closing the door. The blonde was surprised when she noticed Natsu turn towards her, waiting for her to reach him. When she was close enough, Natsu wrapped his arms around her in a hug. She squeaked,

Lucy sat in the stands, watching as Natsu led his team of tykes through some warm up drills. She watched as her son kicked the ball as hard as he could into the goal, earning a high five from Natsu. The older male then looked up at her, giving her a warm smile and a grin, something Lucy didn't mind returning.
"My, my. My boys taken quite a liking to you."
Lucy jumped at the voice, quickly turning around to the source to see Natsu's mother Grandeeny. She flushed as her words finally sunk in. "Y-You think so? I think hes just being nice since I'm new-"
"Nonsense." She smiled. "We've had a lot of new people come to this town and complex, but you're the only one that Natsu has cared enough to get to know. Perhaps it was love at first sight?"
"A-Absolutely not!" Lucy shouted, face flaming at this point. "W-We've only been on one date… it's kind of hard to go out when you have a child."
"Speaking of children, why don't you and Kade join us for dinner after the game?" Grandeeny said with a sweet smile. "Natsu's always talking about you two, it would be nice to get to know you and your son more."
Lucy's mind ran in a million different directions, unable to process the words Grandeeny just said. She wasn't used to people taking interest in getting to know her or her son. "I don't want to impose-"
"Nonsense!" Grandeeny laughed, amusement clear in her eyes. "You'll never be a bother to our family Lucy. I understand you got hurt in the past sweetheart but," The older woman put her hand on the blonde's cheek gazing into her eyes with fondness, reminding Lucy of what her own Mother used to do with her.
"You're not alone anymore."
The words rang through Lucy's mind, eyes now burning with tears that built up in the back of her eyes. She silently cursed herself when one tear escaped from the corner of her eye as she raised her hand up to wipe it away. "Sorry…"
Grandeeny laughed once again. "I'm not sure why you're apologizing, but will you accept my offer? I'm sure Igneel will be thrilled, our boys never brought a girl home before."
This caused a giggle to escape the blonde's lips, still wiping away the tears she couldn't stop. "How could I refuse that?"
The older woman smiled at her reply. "It's settled then."

"You did amazing sweetie." Lucy told her son as they walked to Natsu's car. He truly did. He scored one goal and had gotten praises from Natsu and his teammates. It made her so happy to see her little boy have so much fun.
"Did you see the goal I scored Mommy?!" Kade said excitingly.
Lucy squatted down to her son's height, smiling softly. "I sure did. You're a natural baby."
Kade grinned back at her about to say something else when something behind her caught his attention. "Natsu!"
Lucy looked back, cheeks warming up at the soft look in Natsu's eyes as he stared at her and Kade. Once he caught Lucy looking his way he looked away, his face flushed with embarrassment of being caught. He walked over to Kade, squatting to his height just like Lucy did before asking. "Hey squirt, did you have fun?"
"Yeah! Natsu made it a lot of fun!" Kade shouted before wrapping his arms around the older man's neck. "I never thought I could have this much fun!"
Lucy flinched at his words, eyes lowering to the ground as thoughts of not being a good enough mother flared up in her mind.
She wished she wasn't so sensitive with this topic.
She looked up when a bigger hand rested over the top of her own, looking back up to see no one other than Natsu. Not only did he seem to sense her thoughts, he had the same soft look in his eyes as he did just a few moments earlier, one hand on hers the other on Kade's back.
"You have a lot of fun with your mom too, dontcha?" Natsu suddenly asked, making Kade pull back.
With his smile never leaving his face, Kade looked over to his mom and rushed to go hug her. "I always have fun with Mommy!"
Lucy melted into the embrace with her son. After a few moments, she looked up to Natsu who was still wearing the soft look accompanied with a warm smile. She mouthed the words 'thank you' to him and he just chuckled in return.
"Your mom invited Kade and I over to have dinner…" Lucy shyfully explained, getting out of her squatting.
"That Mom of mine…" Natsu grumbled, Kade's hand in his as they continued to walk to his car. "You don't have to come if you want to. My parents are probably gonna use it as an excuse to embarass me."
"All the more reason to go." Lucy teased, laughing at her love interests offended gasp. "But seriously, it would be nice to get to know your parents just in case…"
Natsu raised an eyebrow at her. "Just in case what?"
"Just in case we decide to go further with… us."
Lucy watched as Natsu's cheeks warmed up when she said those words, his hand going to cover his mouth. "I-I guess.
"If…" Lucy said, voice more quiet than when she previously spoke. "If you still want us to try to work of course."
"Of course I do!" Natsu shouted a little too fast, making Lucy and Kade look at him. "I mean, uh, yeah… I would like that a lot." He gripped Kade's hand more firmly. "I really like what we're building."
Lucy looked at her and Kade's joined hands, then to Natsu and Kade's and smiled softly. This was starting to feel like a family to her.
"I do too."
