I don't think I'd ever get used to teleporting. It was just so weird being in one place, blinking, and then being somewhere completely else. I always did a double take when it happened. This time was even more disconcerting because I wasn't expecting the teleport. I was pondering how this egg would let you fly, when suddenly I found myself in a completely different place than where I was moments before.

"Ack", I nearly fell down, startled by the appearance of yellow knifey football and yellow unicorn potato bouncing in front of me.

They were bouncing around, squeeing with joy. They seemed so happy. After I got over my initial shock, I couldn't help but feel happy too. A smile, maybe the first one that day, crept onto my mouth.

"See, this is what being a DigiRescuer is all about." Armadillomon said, coming up behind me. "It never quite gets old."

"Yeah, it's really nice. They do seem pretty happy."

"Sakuttomon has been taking care of Sakumon ever since Sakumon hatched. They've been really close, Sakuttomon taking Sakumon under their wing, you know with Sakuttomon being Sakumons evolution and all."

"Hatched? That thing is a reptile?"

"What? No? All Digimon hatch, being a reptile has nothing to do with it."

"Huh, so y'all... hatch"

"Yeah."

I merely stood there looking at the two yellow blobs bounce around. Honestly I was just happy to get an explanation that made sense. No teleportation, or ferals, or Mystery Dungeon. Just hatching from eggs. That was it. Something normal. Something I could understand. Something that made me feel closer to home.

Content, I just sat down. Armadillomon sat down next to me. I noticed how peaceful it was, a slight breeze was blowing, and outside the two knife balls chittering away at each other, very few sounds could be heard. This place was not all that bad.

"So Armadillomon, you never did explain, what happened with Sunflowmon, one moment they were about to kill us, then the next thing I remember they were crumpled in a heap in front of me."

"Oh... yeah, sorry about that. I guess you don't know much about yourself huh?"

"I really don't, this being a new body and all."

"So every Dracomon has a scale. When that scale is pressed hard enough, they go berserk. That's what happened, I found the berserk scale and you went off, firing your Great Strikes. Which uh, is kind of like shooting laser beams out of your mouth I guess. Anyways you went berserk and brought down Sunflowmon."

"Huh. So I have a berserk button. Better keep that in mind."

"That's right. Dracomon have been known to go off just by accidently bumping it too hard. So watch that your belly doesn't bump into anything too hard."

"I'll be careful."

We sat there some more. Sakuttomon and Sakumon had stopped bouncing around and were now talking to each other. Armadillomon cleared their throat.

"Hey Murder..."

"Yes?"

"I just want to say... I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what."

"Nothing major, but just my general attitude. You seemed really lost and don't know about this world, and I've been really flippant with my explanations, I think you still have a lot of questions, but are afraid to ask because I never really bother to fully explain stuff. Also I kinda just dragged you into this without really considering the position you were in. I should've left you outside with Sakuttomon. I think I was just so excited to have a partner that I couldn't really imagine doing this without you."

"You couldn't imagine doing this without me?"

"I know, I know, it was really selfish. It's just that I've always wanted a partner, and well, you came along. So I drag you into a dangerous Mystery Dungeon and then cause you to go berserk without you even knowing that could happen. I've been an atrocious partner." The Armadillomon started to sniffle, tears seemed to be forming in their eyes.

"Hey, hey, hey, don't cry Armadillomon. For what it's worth, I really enjoyed hanging out with you. Not your fault that I got dragged into this world. Heck, I would be even more lost without you here. You've done nothing but help me, and honestly? As long as we don't encounter something as dangerous as Sunflowmon again, I could see myself going out on missions with you. It wasn't all that bad."

So that was a half truth. The dungeon delving part of it was really not up my alley. But seeing Sakuttomon and Sakumon prance around in joy did bring a smile to my face. I might not like this Rescuing business, but it was something I could see myself tolerating. Mostly I just didn't want Armadillomon to cry.

"R..Really?"

"Really. Just maybe next time tell me before you cause me to go berserk."

"Alright, I will!" Armadillomon said, smile and cheer back on their face.

It was at this moment that Sakuttomon decided to walk up to us.

"I can't thank you enough for saving Sakumon for me. I don't have much but I hope this will do."

Then Sakuttomon pulled out a giant piece of meat from... somewhere? And layed it out in front of us.

Like flat out a giant of piece of meat on the bone.

As big as I was.

Just floating there in front of us.

...

...

"Armadillomon?"

"Yes?"

"What the %$# ."

"Guessing this isn't something in your world."

"This is very much something not from my world. Why is there is a giant piece of meat in front of us."

"That's our reward."

...

...

"What."

"I promise to explain more on the way back to the guild. C'mon."

With that they grabbed the meat, somehow stuffed it inside their bag, and started walking down the road.
