The Next Day...
Regina parked in front of her long time boyfriend's house. Robin was out of town for the first few days of school. But he still heard about Regina's altercation. He brushed it off thinking it was just a female squabble that Regina had already moved on from. So he didn't ask if she was ok or if she wanted to talk about it. Regina chalked it up to him not seeing a bruise on her.
So, they went on with their regular routine. Robin had invited her over and just as always, he greeted her at the door with a compliment and a kiss. They went upstairs to his room where he went on about his trip and how much he was craving sushi. Sushi reminded him of the ocean and then he remembered he wanted to go to the beach this weekend. Regina sits on the bed kicking her heels off, as she patiently listens on. He rummaged through his back pack and said, "oh I forgot…" then pulled out a small red rectangle gift box. He placed it in her hand, combed through his dirty blonde locks. She looked at him with a half-smile before opening it.
"Robin…" she breathes holding up a diamond heart pendant necklace, "...this is…" beautiful, she thought, but why?
He nodded impatiently, "well, come on…" she gave it to him to put it on her.
"I wasn't sure if you'd like it." They stand in front of the mirror.
"You've never given me jewelry before..." she raises an eyebrow.
"I know… but we've been dating for almost two years now and I just wanted to show you how much I…love you, Regina."
Regina gave a faint smile, touching the pendant. She swallows turning to him and pecks him on the lips.
"I love it."
Robin roves his hands down to the arch of her back. Then he kisses her, "I really, really missed you."
"Did you?" She teases.
"It's been so hard being away from you," He whispers.
"How hard?" Regina bit her lip.
"Oh, you have no idea." He pulls her to him by the ass. She wraps her arms around his neck as he moves them to the bed.
"I can't wait any longer." He unfastened his belt. Unzipped then pulled her panties off. Regina grabs his face kissing him.
He guides his way to her entrance then pushes himself inside of her. She lets out a sharp gasp, as her fingers tug at his scalp.
Regina lays against Robin's chest, staring at the wall, with silence between them. Now that her mind was clear, she had a decision to make. She could do like her mother says and fix her problem with Emma. Or she could have fun with this. She knew Emma had some kind of infatuation with her. Maybe this could be a fun little project.
"What's the matter?" Robin asks wrapping his arms around her, bringing her back from her thoughts.
"I have to make friends with this halfwit. I'm not sure I'll be able to do it without strangling her," Regina sighs.
"Is this the same girl everyone's talking about?"
"Not everyone...but yes."
"So..."
"So?" Regina repeats.
"If you must than you will, right?" he asks.
Regina rolls her eyes, and dryly replies, "yes."
"I told you my father wants me to take over the business, right?"
"You've mentioned it." Her eyebrows crinkle in annoyance.
"And I remind you that we both have a reputation to uphold."
"Yes…I'm wholly aware. What are you getting at?" She could feel a headache coming on.
"Regina. I think you should fix it and just be done with it."
"Have you been talking to Mother?" She suddenly lifts her head to face him. He smiles,
"No. Regina, just put yourself in her shoes. She's not from here, she doesn't have the same opportunities like us." Robin runs his fingers through her hair. His own version of persuasion and if she were still in the mood, it would work, "Think of it as a part of your run for class president. You need everyone on your side."
Regina hears her phone notification. She pushes up off him then scoots off the bed her purse grabbing her phone.
Sidney: She's in the library.
"Not her," she breathes.
"Especially her. Prove to your mum that your more than just her daughter. That you're not just getting by." Regina grew bored with this conversation. And she needed to leave before she said something she couldn't take back.
"Did I say something wrong?" He sat up. Regina stops at the door. She takes a deep breath through her nose, rolling her eyes, before turning around to go back and give him a quick peck.
"I'm going to fix it; I'll call you later."
At The Library
Regina straightens her blazer as she approaches Emma. She had her head rested on her palm. Her hair was covering her face, and she seemed to be almost falling asleep. She was so unaware. So irritating. Regina picks up a book then drops it on the table, startling her.
"Regina-"
"So, I'm told everyone's thinking you're some sort of hero for assaulting me."
"I'm sorry...I don't know what else to say." Emma furrows her brow looking up at her.
"Stop apologizing, it's pathetic." Regina glares at Emma's now pouty face.
"Pathetic...ok, whatever..." Emma closes her books stacking them so she can leave. Regina puts a hand on top of the books, "ok. That was harsh. Let's not get off on the wrong foot again."
Emma sighs, "then don't say things that will piss me off."
Regina chuckles, "listen...I know I can be curt. But I don't mean to be."
"Maybe that's a sign. To stay out of each other's way." Emma concluded, scratching her head. Regina pulled up a chair sitting across from her. Emma sat up trying to maintain her composure.
"I know you're having a hard time finding your bearings. I just thought maybe I'd lend a hand or whatever. Maybe…we can help each other out."
There's a silence between them. Regina's stare makes Emma uncomfortable; it took all of her restraint not to get up and run away. Regina exhales staring at her. Emma evades her eyes by focusing back on her work.
Out of nowhere Regina gets up to stand behind her.
"What are you working on?" Regina leans over Emma's shoulder. Emma's eyes glaze over and she hunches her shoulders leaning on her forearms. Emma couldn't speak. Regina walks back to her seat.
"Calculus, well...at least it's easy..." Regina sat back staring at her.
"Not for me," Was all Emma could muster.
"Let me see...`" She reaches out waiting.
Emma hands her the paper, and watches Regina's unreadable expression as she looks over her work.
"Ok you're not completely hopeless..." She places the paper back in front of her, "I'll tutor you, as a peace offering." Emma looks down at her feet. There was no way she could go through this for more than five minutes.
"I don't...think that's a good idea."
"Oh, you don't?" Regina raises an eyebrow.
"I mean-"
"What?"
"Did you forget about a few days ago?"
"oh, I see...You want an apology?"
"OK." Emma shrugs suppressing a smile.
"For what? I didn't do anything." Regina challenged.
"OK, then, I guess we're done here." Emma says as her eyes wander away.
"Fine. Fail calculus." Regina slams the pencil down getting up from the chair. Emma looked around, then rolls her eyes.
"Ugh...alright...whatever god."
"You say something, Swan?"
"I'll do it..." Emma mumbles.
"Do what?"
"The tutoring or whatever."
"Are you sure? You know what? It was wrong of me to suggest us working together after everything..." Regina flips through the pages of one of the books.
Emma shrugs in defeat, "Can you...?"
"Can I what, Swan?"
Emma sighs in annoyance, "can you tutor me?"
"Well, sure, but only if you want," Regina says, her teeth glinting in a seemingly friendly smile. She sits back down. Emma smiled but didn't look at her. This was going to be alot.
"So lets start with problem number one..."
