Why do I describe some characters a lot? Take it as a sign that he or she will be a main character and because I can't draw. My drawing skills are bad and when it comes to human figures, becomes absolutely atrocious. My good friend omegacrow-nexus also does not take sketch requests so that's that. Also, thank you, omega, for letting me borrow your OC.
On a brighter and sunnier than normal day, Nikki a.k.a Abaddon lethargically trudge through the streets. Due to the current weather, she wears a plain white tank-top, white jersey short she borrowed from Lynn, white wide brim hat and black sunglasses to prevent herself from being blinded by the sun and even with she wore."Why the fuck is it so hot when the weather dude told us it's going to be a cloudy day, fuck!" she screams out in frustration.
The parents in the vicinity didn't even bother covering the ears of their child or children, who didn't even notice what Nikki said or even acknowledge her presence.
Staying vigilant for a few more hours while on patrol, her patience was about to give out when her patience was finally rewarded. Just as she was about to return home and wait for an emergency, she heard and saw the start of a particularly shady conversation between particularly two shady individuals.
She went closer to eavesdrop."Hey, so I heard that the boss lady suddenly had an increase of opportunities to make some big bucks. I haven't seen any changes or any new shiz' coming up, so what's up with that?" the first one asked in a stereotypical crook type of man you hear in different media. The second crook, a female replied with "The boss lady said that she's got her hands on something special under the root of a tree, pretty farfetched if you ask me. It was a smooth oval topaz, I hear. When I talked to her about it, I told her that those kind of gemstones fetch a shit-ton of greens, especially in the black market but then she just refused so hard, I gave up the idea instantly. That and she began acting like that malnourished looking dude from King of the Rings."
"Hm, that stone may be special. Say, when did she find it?" the first crook asked."Just this morning."
"Then that could possibly explain why it's so hot today when the dude said it was going to be cloudy. And if she refused just like how you described her, then that confirms the fact that that gem ain't no normal gem." The male crook concluded as if he solved some kind of mystery."Ace Savvy really did get to you head."
A ringtone played in the female cook's pocket. She took it and spoke, "Yes, boss?... Ok, gotcha...See ya." "What did the boss lady say?" asked the first crook."Boss lady said that important cargo that could possibly double our profit is coming by this general location. She also said to stall for time and send a signal to others to come and help us. Now come on!"
The two crooks suddenly began wall-jumping to the top of the roof. Looking around and down, they see a white van with three cars as escort driving towards the nearby museum. It was still ways away from it's destination so they had time to intercept it. They were already jumping rooftop to rooftop towards it, Nikki noted so she went into her locust swarm form and followed after them.
The white van was nearing the two crooks, who jumped down while sending a signal for backup. The two crooks landed in front of the van and stopped it with their bare hands, causing the front of the van to cave in. Civilians on the streets and in the surrounding buildings and vehicles all ran or drive away from the commotion and in just a two minutes, the street was deserted. Immediately, the cars pulled over and dropped off it's passengers. It was at this moment that portals of all colors opened around and more people dressed like crooks walked through. It was 50 against 12 in favour of the crooks. If the mere grunts were strong enough to stop a van with nothing but their hands, they couldn't possibly hope to fight off this many.
The overwhelming odds were enough to force the escorts to their knees. No words were exchanged between the two sides as three crooks went to look inside the back of the van. There was a gauntlet made out of pitch-black diamond plus a blue diamond inserted in the middle of the three slots. The three crooks smiled and one of them went in with a burlap sack taken out of nowhere.
He was about to step in when he was suddenly covered in locusts that began to devour him so fast, he didn't have time to scream. The army of grunts gasped in shock at the killing capability of the locusts. Finally, the swarm took flight again, revealing the clothed skeleton of the crook."A mutant, killed just like that?" one male grunt said in shock and fright. The swarm clumped together before forming into who they know as Abaddon."That's Abaddon, the Queen of Locusts." stated one female grunt.
"You know me? That makes it easier. All of you should know that that all of you stand no chance against me." Nikki confidently bragged."No..." started one grunt."But our boss can!" finished another. A royal purple portal opened beside the grunt who finished the sentence. Out came a 27 year old woman with an athletic and feminine build. Her hair was black and was cut in rough but not amateurish style so that it would reach her neck, she had a slim waist, wide pair of hips, a firm and taut derriere and muscular legs in general. Her firm pair of breast are definitely not something to scoff at, being that if their size and mass was combined would amount to the mass and size of an adult's head. Her height was at a rather intimidating 6"12 feet tall. She wore a brown trench coat and underneath was red tube top that covered her breast while showing a modest amount of it and doubles as her skirt. Her footwear was quite out of place but ingenious, she wore black blunt-tip shoes with no laces and wide area, hard and thick heel. The reason why the author considered it to be ingenious is due to the heel, which made for devastating forward kicks. On her right middle finger was a silver ring with a topaz gem on it.
"And how exactly did this bi-yatch give you all trouble?" the lady asks in an irritated tone."Boss, she controls locusts that ate one of my fellow grunts in three seconds flat." said a female grunt beside the boss, the grunts all go behind their superior."And you are?" Nikki curtly asks."Ava, Ava Jones, the Queen of the Underwold." the woman, now known as Ava, replied while showing off her fist so that the ring would face upwards. The gem was also giving off black mist."This gem contains a tremendous amount of power that the word "godly" is the only appropriate word. It doesn't only enhance my already immense capabilities, it also gave me NEW, and quite frankly weird, abilities. Observe!"
She threw her fist towards an escort's car that was behind Nikki, causing the ring to react and materialise a hand grenade of all things and shoot it towards the vehicle. The explosive immediately activated upon impact with surprising power, not only destroying it but also sending the escorts flying away from the blast while Nikki was skidding forward. What remained after the blast was a crater larger than what a regular bomb can make.
"That could be stronger if I gave the ring more energy. It doesn't have it's own source of power but takes from the wearer itself. Something that I can easily give it." Ava confidently and zealously stated. She turned to her underlings, "Head back to base. I got this."
The grunts activated something on their phone that engulfed them in a pillar of light which sent them to what Nikki can assume is their base."Now, face the full power of Ava Jones!... Darn it, that sounded much better in my head. But anyway, step right up if you dare."
Nikki waved away the escorts, who, along with the driver of the van, ran off. With the last of them gone, she turns back to Ava and stepped one forward. The latter clenched her fist, causing the gem on her ring to glint again and fire a deathray as wide as only the gem itself. Nikki sensed it before it fired, allowing her to dodge it just before it fully pierced her. Locusts phased out of the ground before landing on their queen's back, lightly flapping their wings, causing Nikki to hover a few centimetres off the ground before disappearing from sight. Ava also blurred out of existence, intending to intercept the locust mistress.
It worked as their fists, with Nikki's having added momentum and wait due to her locusts propelling it, collided which caused the two to bounced away. This resulted in the road getting a crater, which multiplied as the two ran side by side, attempting to ram a punch only to bounce away with a thundering boom as the windows of the nearby buildings shattered and the road to be filled with craters. The jumped in to the air and attempted to hit each other head-on, causing them to once again bounce off.
Nikki's locusts allowed her to fly while a red outline covered Ava which became her method of aerial navigation. The two seemingly gravitated towards each other as they hit and hit each other some more before Nikki pulled off a sucker kick supported by locusts that nailed Ava straight in the gut, sending her upwards. The former dashed up to catch up with the latter and send a strong upward straight punch that was backed up by locusts on Ava. The latter didn't get a chance to be propelled further upwards as Nikki grabbed her and pulled her to her level and showered her with a barrage of punches. Each punch that landed caused a gust of wind to appear behind the point of impact. Finally, Nikki performed a spinning downward kick that sent Ava crashing towards the road, creating a new Ava-shaped crater and kicking up dust. Nikki gently landed, not winded one bit by the long combo. The dust eventually settled to revealed Ava unscathed."I'll admit, I felt that, just a little." this revelation shock Nikki. She can only bring her hands up and cover them with locust as Ava was almost immediately upon her with her fist. The attack didn't hurt but sent her skidding back quite the distance but luckily, learning from her fight with Lana, she willed locust larva to come out of the ground to grab a hold of her to stop her. She tried to catch Ava by surprise by darting forward with all her speed and strength for a tackle but instead phases through.'What?!' she thought in surprise. The Ava that she phased through disappeared while her laugh was heard.
"How does it feel to hit nothing but air? With my super-fast movement plus more balance on my feet allows me to run exactly on the same spot for as long as my stamina allows it." Ava explained with her voice mildly distorted. The voice came from everywhere as blurred Avas appeared everywhere in front of Nikki. Their mouth moved at the same time as she speaks. They then moved in to attack and from how Nikki can feel, it seemed that all the afterimages attacked with casually-thrown punches. Nikki curled her arms around her front, nullifying the damage that would normally really hurt. She tried punching all of them but she just phased through again.'If I can't hit you, then I'll just strike from everywhere all at once!' Nikki screamed in her head as she sent all her locusts in every direction, halting the attack of the Avas with the original appearing in front. A gigantic cloud of locusts that blocked out the sun appeared from behind the clouds. Nikki had a hand raised before she lowered it abruptly, causing the locusts to come crashing on their position while avoiding their mistress and the buildings. In just a second, the streets and beyond was covered in a mountain of locusts.
Then out of nowhere, an explosion destroyed them all and damaged or even destroyed some surrounding buildings and kicked up dust. The dust eventually settled, revealing that Ava, unscathed, had a fist held up with her gem glowing hot."Your tricks are useless." Ava smugly stated before appearing right in front of Nikki with a fist ready to smash Nikki into submission. That was until a foot wearing crocs intercepted it. The force of the interception sent not only Nikki flying into the horizon but also Ava who managed to stop her flight prematurely. She then turned her focus to the interloper.
The face of the interloper, who was a female with her voluminous figure, was hidden by a black fedora. She wore a black jacket with four pairs of larger-than-normal dirty-golden button. The sleeves that reached her wrist were faded yellow with the exception of the middle-most part which was the same shade of black as the body of the jacket. A white ring with a light-pink glowing orb sat close to where her armpits were on each arm. The buttons on her torso were merely decoration so the jacket parted to reveal a white shirt underneath. She wore a pair of pants that reached her ankles and was colored black except for her knees which were dark purple and lastly, she wore a pair white skin-tight gloves.
Though the source of the confusion of Ava was not the strange set of clothes nor the long white hair that flutters with the wind. It was the massive pair of swords the interloper had and the fact she was casually carrying it and not hefting it on her shoulders.
The flat side of the swords was thick enough for a nine year old and below child to hide behind and was as tall as it's wielder. Their overall size, length and girth were the same yet shaped differently.
The sword on her right hand was red and yellow with a guard curved upward a bit and four stubs on each side that are shaped like a dragon's tooth. The outermost stubs were as long as a pinky finger, the innermost stubs looking to be scale-up twice the outermost stubs. The four middle stubs were half the length and girth of the outermost stubs. The blade was made a bit weird as there was a main, bigger blade while there was smaller "skeleton" of the main blade. The skeleton part abruptly grew narrower in girth three times before ending in a point. The outer rim of the skeletal blade as well as the third part of it was a golden shade of cheese while the inside of it was dark red that becomes lighter in shade as as it progresses upward. The main blade made up most of the size and girth of the sword itself. The smaller blade was surrounded by the main blade. The edge of the blade was the same golden shade of cheese as mentioned above while the prominent color was red with several darker blotches of red. On the point of the skeletal part of the blade was a hexagon that had one of it's corner joined to the point and another hexagon had it's lower corner connected to the upper corner of the first hexagon. A pointed line as wide as a pencil was joined to the upper corner of the second hexagon via a thin line. The hexagons and lines were also golden cheese-colored. The handle was long and colored black mixed with a tint of red while the pommel was simple in shape and was also golden cheese in color. The final touch was that nearing the end of the blade, it became an arrow-point shape.
The second sword on her left hanf was more simplistic but still just as extravagant as the first sword. The guard was shaped like the wing of a bat without the points on the wing that represented it's skeletal structure and colored white with a very minor tint of blue. The handle was black with the same tint of blue as mentioned on the colour of the guard while the pommel was simple and colored like the guard. The blade also had a skeletal part but much simpler as it was also a part of the guard and shaped and had the dimensions of a well-sharpened pencil. The main blade was dark blue with some blotches being deeper in shade. The edge of the sword was sapphire blue. The blade was simple in shape. The final touch was that it also had the two hexagons connected to the point of the skeletal blade and the two lines connected to the upper corner of the second hexagon.
After the lengthy observation Ava did on the interloper, she finally asked, "Who the hell are you?"
The interloper finally raised her head so that Ava can see her face. The face of..."The Dark Lord known as Lexxianna."
"One of the five high-ranking newbies of the Evolutionary Seals? And also the Archdragon ranking one? Must be my lucky day, I was going to turn in the bounty of Nikki Jones, codename Abaddon. But yours is much higher so I guess you're a very much welcomed replacement for her since she's gone now. Also, I can test out the full potential of this..." Ava paused before showing off her ring."...beauty right here. I can possibly kill two birds in one stone."
"Ah, so you found one of the physical manifestion of my powers. That's great. I won't take it back, though. You can keep it for as long as you...hm...can. I would say want but you never know, someone may steal that from you." said Lexxianna with a hint of surprised on her first sentence. Ava had a mildly surprise look on her face before it turned into a bored one, "This gem, your creation? Don't make me laugh."
Instead of refuting the denial, Lexxianna diverted the topic instead."That gem is from a set of gems that are composed of the red diamond gem, the blue diamond gem and the yellow diamond gem. I know, it's weird since the red gem is a topaz-diamond hybrid and not a ruby-diamond but whatever. The red gem is the dominant part and utilizes projectiles and beams that don't continue to fire for as long as you want after activation. The blue gem utilizes abilities that you can turn on and off. The yellow gem focuses more on enhancing your capabilities greater than the red and blue gem can give you. While the red and blue gem requires a latent power supply from it's wielder, the yellow gem does not. Oh, and to differentiate the red and yellow gem, the red gem is a regular shade of orange. Hope that helps in your quest to find my artifacts. Oh and one more thing before our inevitable fight. Do make sure you take your time at a church regularly so that you can maintain a healthy protection against the dark influences of the gems. Your soul is already strong enough to withstand the most powerful but with another, I'm not sure. Any questions?"
As a matter of fact, Ava does have questions. First off, "If you're the Dark Lord, why the colorful weapons? Doesn't seem fitting for a macabre title like yours. And...um...have you been crying? You're trembling every now and then." Ava scratches her head in confusion.
"The Dark Lord does not limit his or her wardrobe to dark and gloomy articles. And to add to that answer, I didn't pick the title. It is bestowed to the individual who is the avatar of chaos. The avatar of chaos spreads the necessary evil to keep the balance between Order and Chaos so as to keep the universe from collapsing, something my predecessor didn't bother doing. And to answer your second question, yes, yes I have been crying. Why? You'll know when you become a doting mother yourself." answered Lexxianna who, this whole time, had a mildly frustrated face.
Ava didn't believe Lexxianna's answer to her first question nor what she added. But then she felt empathetic upon understanding the underlying dilemma her opponent had and even shed her own tears."You too? Damn, same here."
"I'll ask you more of my question making you admit defeat or vice versa, how does that sound?" Lexxianna proposed, her tone dripping with empathy and the desire to comfort a fellow mother who had lost the most important part of her life. Ava wiped off the tears on her saddened face which turned to a hardened one as she looks at Lexxianna with a determined face."For my one and only son, I have to be strong. You are just another one of the tests I have to take to prove myself strong enough to retake the most important part of my life." she said calmly but with an underlying tone of fiery determination."I hope the two of us succeed."
This was no longer a battle against two opposing sides but a test for a mother who lost faith in today's justice as it already failed her multiple times. A test for one to prove herself strong enough to do what even the largest organisation of justice could not: bring an end to the current age of mutant slavery, all for her child. The other had already proven time and time again throughout history that she is strong enough but is the other strong enough?
This next sentence was uttered by the two mothers at the same time.
"For our family!"

Lexxianna didn't take a step but brought her blue sword to her face and said something in a language that Ava was not familiar with."Modero!"
Ghostly prisoner shackles clamped on Ava's legs before disappearing. She ignored that and ran for Lexxianna only to notice one thing: she was slowed WAY down to the point she can only run as fast as a nine year old child. To make things worst, Lexxianna warped farther away from Ava in a pillar of light. The latter can still see the former but it will take while to reach her.
Purple translucent rectangles appeared on the ground, extending as far as she can see. She noticed many more appeared, facing different directions with some even intersecting with each other. After exactly three seconds upon appearance, the rectangles glowed bright purple. In her confusion, she didn't notice that a rectangle had appear right where she was, burning her intensely for the duration she touched it but strangely did not leave any marks but left a sense of lethargicity and dull pains. She slowly but surely advanced towards Lexxianna, who raised her blue sword, causing long bolts of purple lightning to target the ground where she was heading. She instinctively stopped just in time for an explosion of pure energy to burst in a small radius around where the bolt impacted. More bolts appeared on her position before she ran again. They all tried to hit where she was going but were narrowly avoided by Ava suddenly changing directions. However, once again, she was caught in the middle of a random rectangle and struck again.
A silver lining to this was that she could finally begin throwing attacks. So she threw a grenade at Lexxianna, who merely crossed her swords and dug her feet to defend. She was still sent skidding backwards but otherwise unharmed.
Lexxianna retaliated slashing her swords downwards, sending purple vertical crescents flying for Ava who managed to go between them. She didn't account for the rectangle that appeared in the crescent's path. The rectangle lit up and she was struck again.
Gritting her teeth but not stopping her constant movement, Ava gathered energy into her ring before firing a hail of fireballs that scorched the ground even though they didn't touch it. Lexxianna countered it by thrusting her blue sword forward and out came fast-moving wisps that effectively cancelled the fireballs.
Electricity gathered in her red sword before she slashed it horizontally, sending a crescent of pure electricity. Ava was grazed by the slash at the arm, overloading it electricity briefly before she felt the pains of shocked nerves. Ava returned the favor by shooting a mini-deathray at Lexxianna, who slashed her preemptively-charged sword in cross motion, shooting a much wider ray, overtaking smaller one.
Lexxianna raised her blue sword again, charging it with white energy. Meanwhile, Ava took a few hits from the rectangles, further draining her energy and dulling the feeling on her legs. She noticed Lexxianna charging an attack and threw her ringed finger forward, releasing a bigger bomb akin to one used in airstrikes, leaving her quite winded.
Lexxianna warped out of her sight, however, ultimately making her shot for nothing. A massive explosion destroyed the ground and buildings around it, Ava had no time to react as a white wave of energy washed over her, draining the last of her energy and causing terrible aches to flare up all over her body. The bullet hell finally stopped as Ava fell down to her knees.

Lexxianna warped right in front of Ava and held four fingers for the latter to hold on to. Ava obliged and felt a surge of energy enter her body, washing away her fatigue and pain. Once the wave was over, she pulled herself up."Wow, weird but effective way of fighting you got there." Ava commented.
Lexxianna flashed a small smile at that, "My love for video games never disappeared over the years. It's what brought me and my family closer and as a video game junkie with many powers at my fingertips, I can be my own boss."
Ava chuckled, increasing in volume. Lexxianna joined and eventually went into full-blown laughter. As their laughter died down, the latter offered, "How's about we exchange pictures of our sons so that we can help out each other on our dilemma?"
She stabbed her swords on the ground and held out a hand for Ava to shake on, "Sure." and she shakes it. When she pulled away, she saw a picture of Lance on it."This him?" she asks, Lexxianna just nodded and gave her his name. Ava took took a small facial picture of a four year old boy with hazel-brown hair and eyes and handed it to Lexxianna."This is him. David is his name."
The victorious of the two nodded."Well, this is where we part ways for now. I won't bring you in for your crimes any time we meet, from one parent to another. But if someone from the Seals do bring you in, I can't guarantee that I'll be able to pull you out."
Ava just nodded and watched Lexxianna slowly walk away. When she disappeared into the horizon, she opened a portal to her position and went back to base. It was at this moment that Nikki finally came back, looking worse for wear."Huh, guess it's over. Ava is gone and the artifact is secured."
She dialled a number on the custom-made phone that was given to her by the Seals and put it on video call."Abaddon, how was the patrol?" an aging man with a balding head asked."Base commander, a patrol led up to meeting Ava Jones herself." Nikki replied."What is the outcome?"
"I briefly engaged her but was terribly outmatched. She had some sort of artifact that enhanced herself beyond what I can take and gave her additional powers. I was rendered unconscious from something that was not her. She was also targeting another artifact but I secured it right after gaining consciousness. Status of Ava Jones is unknown. That is all." Nikki replied
"Then we can only assume she was defeated by one of our fellow Seals or perhaps an unknown vigilante. You can rest easy now." The base commander ended the call upon receiving a nod of confirmation. With that done, she flew back home.
