Third POV
The Echidna Screech as both Nao and Cole came charging. Nao came first, dodging a swipe as he aimed for a strike with his axe. The Echidna swiftly dodge it and duck from a shot from Cole. It screeched, sending sonic waves to him, making the spear wielder cover his ears in pain. The snake Grimm then turns its attention to Nao, who charges up Rhitta with fire dust and throws it on the grimm. The grimm simply deflects the attacks but never takes into account that Nao then pulled out Nightshade and charged in. He quickly pulls off several shots to the chest and slides underneath a claw strike.
He shifted the pistol to the one-handed scythe and managed to dodge a claw and was forced back by another, but during that he had sunk his blade to the arm and grip the weapons tight. The Grimm tried to yank him or used its left claw, but Nao held on and held out his left arm and Rhitta came to him before using his semblance, he forcibly yanked the grimm towards him. While he yanked the grimm he swung his axe on the head, but the Echidna had swiftly twisted its body and went underneath, dragging him with it.
The Echidna then comes out and using its momentum it throws Nao to the air, dislodging Nightshade from its arm and the bone mask splitting open and uses the screech towards him before wrapping the tail around the white coat boy, and slamming him to the ground.
The Echidna's hair quickly formed around the face as several shotgun bullets were deflected. Soon Cole switches to Radeon and charges in as well as the Grimm. Cole delivers a series of slashes and trust, using his body movements to get maximum damage. As he continued his assault, the Echidna was amazingly blocking some of them with it's own slashes with it's claws. Cole then deflects a few more slashes from the Echidna, before he delivers a huge thrust (hehe) to the chest, cracking the bone armour a bit.
The grimm roared, and Cole sensed the danger that he was in before he started to back up. The Echidna didn't let him go easily as it delivered several quick slashes to the Vacuo-an. Cole started to do several flips and dodges to avoid the attack. He then did a backflip and knew that he didn't have time to dodge as the Echidna was just too close. Thinking quickly he slams his spear to the ground, powered by a combustion dust, creating a huge flash, blinding the Grimm momentarily.
"DUCK" Cole heard a voice, and instinctively duck as a pair of large shurikens hit the mid section and Cole felt that an extra weight came to him and saw Aleister use him as a jump pad as he saw him grab the head of the Grimm and knees it. Aleister then pulls out his pistol and starts shooting the chest a few times and teleports behind it. The other then saw several arrows hit the grim, and Cole looks at Sutekina, in her glyder form and bow at hand.
She sent a short nod to Cole, who returned it, before pulling Radeon and starting it's attack. Sutekina then takes refuge to the tower and immediately knocks her arrow in and starts providing cover fire. Nao and Aleister pull their respective pistols and start shooting the back, while Cole went in and to the chest. The redhead then charges toward it, pulling his blades stabs the back to the tail, between the bone plating. The Echidna screams in pain as it turned it's eyes away to Aleister, but the explosive arrows that hit its side of face quickly turned back to the pinkette. It screams before diving under the temple, Aleister quickly lets go as he doesn't want to get with the grimm. He ran on the scales before using 'Abyss Walk' and teleported next to Nao. They look around the ledge as they show no sign of the Echidna.
"Seen it?" Nao asked, getting a head shake from both COle and Aleister. "No... but keep you guard up!" Cole said as they look around. The area became eerily quiet as they can only heard the sound of the other dealing with their own Grimm troubles.
Suddenly Sutekina's cat ear started to twitch as it picks up a sound coming... Her eyes widened as the tower she was on suddenly burst behind her, as she turned around but quickly got pick up by the Echidna.
"SUTE!" Cole shouted as the rest of them pulled out their respective firearms and fired away. The Echidna can only screech at the attack and dodge the bullets with efficiency and swiftly, before opening the mask and letting out a sonic screech, which is amazingly enough, the bullets were redirected to them.
"Get behind me!" Nao said as they did and he charged up his axe and his semblance, absorbing some of the dust before slamming the axe down. Creating a wall of flames and molten rocks as the bullets melted away by contact. Once the wall have been dropped, they saw Sutekina struggling under the Echidna's grip, her face getting a little red as the grimm start squeeze her neck. Sutekina felt her consciousness, before quickly drawing a very crude drawing of her explosive arrows and quickly stabbing the wrist. The Grimm screams in pain as it drops the Faunus. Sutekina grab her throat as she tries to get air back on her lungs and saw the claw from the Grimm are raised, but before it got close it exploded.
She then took this opportunity to get off from the castle. She jumps from the ledge and opens her flight gear. The Echidna saw this and tries to use its tail to prevent her but a hard shot came as it screeched and turned as it saw Cole with his gun. Then It felt a pair of chain wrap around the neck and was forcibly bent down. To the side it revealed that Nao was using both Aleister's chain and Nightshade's chain scythe form, to hold it down.
The Echidna looked up and saw the redhead vigilante landed on it before delivering a heavy axe kick, but the Echidna's hair came to protect it, but that didn't stop him as Aleister then started pounding the living out of the hair armour. All the while Cole decided to take out the tail. This goes one fore a few moment that the Echidna struggling to fight for some release from the chain, Aleister fist started to get coated in blood as his just continuing on pounding away the armour, before he saw a loose pieces, grabs it, and rips it off with all of his strength.
That was the last straw for the grimm and it released a large, deafening screech that echoed through the whole temple. Cole, Nao and Aleister all covered their ears from the attack, Aleister seeing the armoured hair parted and the face of the grimm splitting opened, he didn't have time to react as the Echidna released a large shock wave blasting him off. Cole was then wrapped around the neck by the tail as he was then slammed to the floor several times, and Nao felt surprised by the sudden amount of power that the Echidna unleashed as he was flying upwards and the grimm grabbed the chains and pulled Nao toward it. Nao then felt a large portion of his aura depleted when the Echidna sliced him and suddenly felt Grimm grab him and slam him to a slanted stone bending him in pain.
Sutekina grits her teeth in frustration as they try to take out the Grimm. Her eyes widened as the Echidna then used Cole as a projectile at her. She quickly dodges it before diving to save him.
"COLE, GRAB MY FEET!" Sutekina exclaimed as she zoomed past him and Cole can see Sutekina's feet, he reached up to her as he tried to get a good grip on her legs. A few seconds passed and he managed to grab on and Sutekina quickly used some of her excess gravity Dust and they zoomed out of the fall. They managed to land on the bridge as they saw Nao was still being thrashed around by the Echidna.
Then they Saw Aleister jump into the fight and use the shurikens to prevent a claw strike. He then teleported out on the bridge, but the grim wouldn't let that happen. So using the tail in swung just a foot in front of the two as it dismantled the bridge in half.
"How can we beat it..." Sutekina said as she and Cole saw the two tried their best to defend themselves. Sutekina grits her teeth as she hastily thinks of a way to beat it.
"It is too heavily armoured, both front and back. And every time we got near it, it used that screeching ability." Cole said, getting Sutekina to nod. It's like a constant back and forth between them and the grimm. That is because the Grimm had a tail that is a problem of it's own and the hair armor too. Wait...
"Cole." Cole looked at her and she said "The hair. Or the head for that matter. The grimm always uses its hair to cover up the face, but more importantly the neck and head. Since there is no other way to kill it, and every time we go for the head it would cover it up. Look" Sutekina stated as she turn her direction from the battle.
Cole followed her lead and saw that Nao swung his axe to the head, but was quickly deflected.
"She's right, it kept deflecting anything that is aimed at the head." Cole thought before looking at Sutekina "Your right, but we still can't get passed through the hair." Cole stated as Sutekina think of a way to do it.
Back at the two the Echidna release another sonic wave as it manages to knock Aleister of the edge of the cliff.
"Woah!" He fell off the ledge, before doing a Blake and uses his chain and shuriken and throw it. It grips on of the supports and use the chain to swing himself to safety.
Nao was about to catch him but the Echidna then grabs him and pretty soon gives him a sonic screech disorienting him and brings him towards it's mouth. Nao's eyes widened as he managed to free his hands and grab the side of the mouth preventing him. In his vision, his saw a heart and was about to be food, if not for the fact that a chain was then wrapped around the neck and was yanked down. Nao uses the time and breaks off the hold and sees Aleister holding the chain.
"Aleister!" Aleister turns his head to Sutekina, flying near them, who motions something on her back. He looked and saw she was mentioning his shurikens, and looked back as she landed.
"It's preventing us from cutting off the head! We need to get the armour off first and I think i know how to do it! I have a plan" Sutekina yelled and the redhead nodded. Before he was then flying back from the Grimm who grabs the chain and throws him away.
" You ok?" Nao said as he looked at the Echidna. "Yeah, but I think you said you have a plan to kill it" Aleister said, getting a nod from the Faunus "Yeah, you two have to lure it to the tower and then..." she told them the rest getting both Aleister and Nao to nod. "Yeah but we can also go for the heart." Aleister and Sutekina look at him "If it was like a snake then the head wouldn't just cut it. We have to destory the heart to make sure" Nao stated, as Aleister nodded and Sutekina takes flight, as the two do their job
Back at Sutekina, she landed next to Cole, She looked at Cole "Whatever your semblance is I hope you can still use it." Sutekina said, getting a nod from Cole.
Back at Aleister and Nao, they are doing their best to lure the grim to the tower. Both Nao and Aleister dodge a swipe as the claw hit the temple pillars. Nao thought quickly and created a pillar of fire blinding the grim, before Aleister wrapped one end of the Shurikens and quickly stabs the blade to the Echidna's mouth. He went around the pillar and yanked the chain, while Nao did the same with Nightshade. Aleister then grabs his sword and stabbing them on the ground in the chain links, and also for Nao's pistol. Preventing the hold from unravelling.
They both nodded and Aleister then went from the edge before running. Sutekina saw her queue and went soaring to the air. Aleister then jumps on top of Nao and Nao providing the boost he tossed the vigilante to the air, and Sutekina grabs Nao, bringing him with her before tossing him with all her might. Aleister then grabs both his shurikens and Nao grabs him, using his semblance and tosses him to the grimm. Aleister activated the dust compartment and he buckled his body. Soon he started to spin with a high velocity as he made his way to the grimm. While Sutekina grabs Nao. The grimm saw the attack and quickly uses the hair armour, before Aleister made contact. Once the two hit each other, Aleister didn't dare stop and continued to spin. Soon the grimm's bone hair started to tear off. One by one, the armour is being peeled off.
On the other side of the temple, Cole was getting ready for his part of the plan, pouring down the sand in front of him as he take a meditate posture, before muttering.
"Please...by the powers that had been blessed upon me by my ancestors...bless me with the ability to protect those I love and cherish, and to slaughter my enemies..." Cole prayed as he then snapped his eyes open and sand started to form around his and he grabbed his spear. Sand started to travel from him to the spear as a sense of boost rejuvenated him.
Back it to Aleister, who was still shredding off the Hair armour, Aleister had started to increase his speed by using all the dust that is available in the weapons and soon the shurikens had cut through and made contact to the head, slicing it off. He then teleports out of the way as a Nao then appears above the sky axe had and glowing, before delivering a slash. Bursting the chest and armour in half and in a distance Sutekina and Cole are ready to deliver the final shot.
Sutekina stared at the target and soon she released her hold and Cole threw his spear. The arrows and spear sore throat the sky as sand courted the spear tip and the arrow to, before both sticking in the chest and right through the heart.
"YES!" Sutekina cheered. As Nao gave a thumbs up, Cole smiled, and Aleister gave a slight nod. Soon they heard the sound of a sniper rifle and Ruby's cries in pleasure (Sorry I couldn't resist hahaha) and look and saw Ruby Rose dragging the Nevermore to the cliff, and decapitating it.
But the Red Reaper had underestimated her power and timing as she was planning on landing but she found herself falling.
"RUBY!" Nao and Yang yelled in worry as they saw Ruby's supposed demise. But it soon stopped as Weiss came rushing in as she used her Glimpse and propelled herself to the young Rose, managing to get into a pillar and catch Ruby in her hand. SHe pulled her up, before giving Ruby a reassuring smile.
"Still think that she is a typical Schnee?" Cole said to Sutekina with a grin, which the cat faunus just give a shrug.
"Its a first." Cole smiled at that before looking on to the two.
Beacon Auditorium
After the whole fiasco that happened in the Emerald Forest, the remaining candidates stood in front of the auditorium, with the newly reformed team. To the left was the the newly formed team that is consist of Cardin Winchester, Dove Bronzewing, Sky Lark and Russel Thrush. Next to them are the team of Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora, and Ren, forming JNPR and to the surprise of everyone, Jaune was the leader. And the Last team to be formed was team RWBY, which consist of Ruby, Weiss, Yang and Blake, leader Ruby Rose ironically. Much to Weiss's dismay and Sutekina's enjoyment.
"And the last and certainly not the least, Sutekina Hoshi, Aleister Wulf, Nao Kome, and Cole Breeze. You four have collected the black Bishop pieces. From this day forward you wlil be known as, team HAZE led by... Sutekina Hoshi" Ozpin announced and the entire clapped and Sutekina look taken back a bit. I mean her, leading a team of her own? That's one big responsibility. she wonder how her family would take the news.
She felt a punch came from Aleister as she yelp in surprised and a bit of pain She gavea glare at him before she saw Cole gave a congratulative nod and Nao a smile, while Aleister just pluck out a cigarette from who knows where before Glynda then smack him on the head with her patented riding crop. She giggled at that before smiling at the headmaster and giving a appreciative nod to him.
While this is going on, OZpin can only look at the teams, especially team HAZE. A vigilante, a enigma, a warrior and a archer. Honestly this is going to be an interesting year for them.
