Author's Note: Here it is! The chapter and battle I've been dying to write for a long time! Though it's still not the end of the story yet, but this is the battle I've wanted to get to and now it's finally here!

I do not own Sonic the Hedgehog. The franchise belongs to Sega. I only own Sun the Hedgehog and Kaiser the Myth Hunter, Keith and Master Koga.
Chapter 22: Fight of the Werehogs.
Back in the desert, Knuckles and Shadow were still fighting the Werehog-Beast who attempted to swipe at them, only for the duo to dodge the attacks and made to counter-attack themselves. The red echidna then attempted to rapid punch at it's already stretched out arms while the black hedgehog tried using another Homing Attack, and while the giant monster roared in agony, it swiped it's other arm at them and knocked them back. The two yelled out before crashing onto the sand, grunting in pain.
"Ugh, this thing's tougher than I thought...!" Knuckles groaned, pushing himself up and glared at the Werehog-Monster who grinned evilly at him and Shadow who knelt on one knee, hissing at his injuries.
"It's stronger at night." Shadow corrected. "We should've began eliminating this thing while the sun was still up."
The Werehog-Beast laughed, as though amused by the futile attacks by the two Mobians and their failing attempts to fight it. "PITIFUL SMALL FRIES. NIGHT IS THE TIME OF DARKNESS. DARKNESS BLANKETS THE WORLD. IT GIVES ME POWER AND STRENGTH. YOUR NEGATIVE EMOTIONS AND ENERGY MAKES ME STRONGER THAN YOU!"
"Big talk for an overgrown fuzz-ball who's just a monster!" The red echidna grunted, refusing to give up. "Light and positive emotions and energy will always drive away negativity and especially darkness!"
"AND YET, IT WAS GREED AND NEGATIVITY THAT HAS DRIVEN YOUR KIND TO NEAR EXTINCTION. I KNOW THAT YOU ARE THE LAST OF YOUR KIND, ECHIDNA. CONSIDERING HOW YOU REFUSE TO LISTEN EVEN TO YOUR FRIENDS BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO STUBBORN, IT'S NO WONDER YOUR PEOPLE HAVE WITHERED AWAY. EVEN IF YOU DO LISTEN NOW, IT IS ALREADY TOO LATE." The Werehog-Beast told it, and while Knuckles tried to ignore the taunting words, he felt a jolt of shock and guilt surge into his heart.
Memories of seeing the vision of Tikal's past came back to him; how her father refused to listen to her as she knew the tragedy that would occur, the tribe leader being the catalyst of the extinction of the Echidnas all across Mobius for 4,000 years until Knuckles himself remained. Given how stubborn he can be for not listening, not even to Sonic or anybody else and had been gullible and lied to by Eggman and others who had tricked him ever since the day he first met the blue hedgehog and Tails, if it hadn't been for Sonic...Knuckles would've doomed Mobius by believing in the evil doctor's lies.
"Shut up!" Knuckles snapped, trying to forget the taunt and focused on the present. But it was painful and he found himself struggling with his own faults, much to his horror.
"Knuckles, don't listen to this monster! He's using your anger against you!" Shadow warned, glaring up at the beast.
"NOT ANGER, BUT HIS PEOPLE'S STUPID DEEDS." The Werehog-Beast corrected, taking pleasure in taunting his two enemies, making the black hedgehog glare up at him. "YOU, SUN THE HEDGEHOG AND I HAVE MORE IN COMMON. YOU WERE CREATED BY HUMANS TO BE A WEAPON, AND YET YOUR WEAK CREATOR AND HIS ILL GRANDDAUGHTER MADE YOU SOFT, AND IT WAS WHAT KILLED THEM. YOU HAVE PUT A LITTLE GIRL'S ALREADY DETERORATING LIFE INTO A BITTER END, NOT THAT SHE DESERVED TO LIVE AS SHE WAS JUST A WASTE. YOU ARE AN ABOMINATION, A WEAPON FOR BLACK DOOM, A PUPPET WITHOUT STRINGS ATTACHED."
That hit Shadow's heart hard as he too felt the negative taunts despite attempting to ignore them. Just like that, as though this thing could read into his thoughts and knew of his past, the Ultimate Life-form saw his most painful memories return to him: His first days on the ARK, his friendship with Maria, GUN's invasion under orders to kill everyone on board, his only first friend killed and had died just after she placed him into that pod and sent him to Mobius, all of the dark deeds he performed after having his memories suppressed, working for Eggman, almost destroying the world, his amnesia, Black Doom almost leading him to the path of darker darkness.
Shadow squeezed his eyes shut, hissing as he tried to remember that he did good as well despite the loss. "NO! I have atoned for all of it! I am nobody's puppet! I made a promise to Maria, and I've kept it!"
He then glared up at the Werehog-Beast and declared, "It is YOU that is an abomination! And I will end your short, murderous life!"
"Me too!" Knuckles declared, panting as he struggled his mental battle. "You don't know anything about us!"
The two then charged again with several attacks, but the Werehog-Beast jumped back to avoid them and despite that they repeatedly attempted to do some damage, it was clear that it's taunts had affected them badly that it even began decreasing Shadow's speed, given that he was fast just like Sonic. The monster laughed manically and punched Knuckles so hard that he went flying into the short distance, the red echidna yelling out in pain before crashing into the ground once more, before having a bit of more trouble getting to the black hedgehog who unleashed more Chaos Spears and Homing Attacks with his own kicks and punches.
Eventually it succeeded by catching him off-guard and swiped at the Ultimate Life-form, declaring with a disappointed scoff. "ENOUGH OF YOUR FOOLISH GAMES."
Caught off-guard, Shadow was sent flying himself and hit a near by abandoned building of the ruins hard, falling to the ground in agony. He felt the wind taken out of him, unable to believe that he has been easily defeated by a giant slow Werehog-Beast who had the advantage due to the night and the darkness, feeding on negative emotions and bringing them out by simple words.
Near by, Sonic and Sun, who were just about to rejoin their friends when they saw what happened and skid to a stop still far away from the Werehog-Beast who didn't see them. The two gasped in shock and horror, seeing it already active and having defeated their friends easily. Fear and worry entered their hearts, but none more so than the blue hedgehog, the fifteen year old seeing it's blood red eyes open, grinning evilly, he felt somehow being drawn and glued to it. Instantly the memories of his nightmare, and Kaiser's death formed.
But it was the nightmare was what made him freeze up: Being trapped in the beast's hand, drawn towards it's mouth and gobbled up. Whimpering uncontrollably, Sonic shut his eyes and hugged himself. He had to go out there, he had to save Knuckles and Shadow before they ended up next on the giant monster's menu, but the cobalt hero was terrified beyond belief, no matter how hard he tried to force it down. He thought he could face it readily, but just seeing the Werehog-Beast standing made the teenager feel trapped.
"Sonic? Sonic!" Sun, who was feeling the similar effects, cried out when he saw his brother in a state of paralyzed fear. "Snap out of it!"
"I'm trying...!" Sonic exclaimed, his heart pounding loudly in his ears. "I-I'm scared! I can't move!"
"What about our friends?" The Werehog asked, worriedly.
That seemed to do the trick, as Sonic instantly realized that standing like this in a frozen state of terror was only delaying him from saving the others, snapping out of his trance and with a gasp, he saw that the Werehog-Beast was laughing evilly and began to reach out for the battered forms of his echidna friend and black hedgehog rival who, unable to push themselves up on time, could only gaze in shock and horror, the realization of becoming the beast's meal dawning onto them.
'Knuckles! Shadow!' Sonic thought to himself in horror. To make things worse, the monster was about to grab both of them when, despite the fear he was feeling, he narrowed his eyes as he knew, like with water, he had to face it head on.
"NOOOOOOO!" The blue hedgehog screamed out, racing over quickly despite Sun's protests to wait for him. While he felt guilty for leaving his brother behind, his friends, their friends, needed him.
Using his Homing Attack and, the Werehog-Beast hearing him shout, turned only to be met with the fifteen year old's attack, catching it by surprise and stumbled to the side, away from Knuckles and Shadow who saw his arrival, and felt relief surge up despite the annoyances of the hero of Mobius almost being too late. Sun in the meantime, stretching out his arms by using whatever he could use to get closer, quickly joined in and as Sonic leaped back while the Werehog-Beast recovered from the cobalt hero's attack, the Werehog let out a loud growl before punching his darker-self in the chest, forcing it back even further and actually fell to the ground with a thud that rocked the earth a little.
Sonic and Sun both landed safely on the ground in front of their already worn-out friends, glaring at their most evil opponent who began to get up itself.
"You guys alright?" Sonic asked, looking over his shoulder.
"You're both late." Shadow said in annoyance.
"What took you two slow pokes long!?" Knuckles demanded. "Did you do a dance or something after restoring this continent we just felt!?"
"Actually, we had a bad date with the Dark Guardian. That's what took us longer." The blue hedgehog shrugged.
"Can we just worry about this argument later? We do have my evil self to take out here!" Sun interrupted impatiently.
Knowing that the Werehog was right, Sonic nodded and despite trying not to show how scared he was, told the two exhausted fighters, "You guys did great, but let me and Sun take care of the rest."
"Be careful." The black hedgehog quickly informed. "That thing gets into your head, makes you think and feel of your darkest memories and emotions."
While wondering what Shadow was talking about, the younger hedgehog saw, to his shock, the pained expressions on his and the Guardian's faces; they had been mentally attacked, which made Sonic's heart stop for a moment or two. If the Werehog-Beast is capable of doing that to both of them, then this was going to be a very deadly battle. He had to gather up as much positive feelings as possible, and share it with Sun who, feeling worry and doubt already, hesitantly nodded as did Sonic a moment later.
After telling the defeated duo to hide and rest, Sonic(with some fear), who had given Shadow Chip's necklace just in case, and Sun hurried over before stopping in the middle of the sand, in a safe-ish distance from the giant monster who stood up, grunting a bit at the unexpected injuries before gazing down at it's two new opponents and grinned evilly and hungrily. At last; Sonic the Hedgehog and Sun the Werehog have finally come.
"AH, MY MAIN COURSE. SONIC AND SUN, YOU ARE JUST IN TIME FOR DINNER." The Werehog-Beast chuckled, licking it's lips.
"Sorry, Fuzzy. But dinner's about to be cancelled! You're goin' down!" Sonic declared, with much courage as he could muster.
"OH REALLY? SUCH BRAVE WORDS, BUT YOUR COURAGE WILL NOT BE ENOUGH TO SAVE YOU THIS TIME, LITTLE HEDGEHOG. MMMMMM...I SMELL FEAR, DOUBT, GUILT, SORROW, ANGER AND HATE. EVEN BY LOOKING AT YOU, I CAN ALREADY TASTE SUCH SWEET FLAVOUR OF YOUR SKIN, FLESH AND BLOOD." The giant monster responded, which sent a fresh wave of fear onto the blue hedgehog who tried to push it aside.
"How about you shut up and we get started in getting rid of you? I'm sick and tired of your dark words and taunts, and I'm sick of you trying to kill my friends, and using me for it!" Sun growled angrily despite that he tried to push down the doubt and anger inside him.
"Me too! You leave my brother alone! Wanting to eat me is one thing, but now you want to eat my friends and have the whole world as nothing but food, and trying to take over Sun's soul and body? You're the most horrible monster I've ever met!" The blue hedgehog added.
The Werehog-Beast just laughed. "HA HA HA HA HA HA! YOU LITTLE FOOLS! ALL OF THIS WORLD ARE MY FOOD! BUT THE ONES THAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR IS YOU, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG! NO ONE CAN STOP ME!"
Sonic and Sun both hissed angrily, the former daring. "Oh yeah!? We'll see about that!"
The monster grinned, before drawing it's fist back and made to punch them, but Sonic and Sun both leaped out of the way just in time to avoid it, before they made to attack it themselves. The blue hedgehog Spin Dashed to it's legs while the Werehog stretched and made to scratch it's arms. The Werehog-Beast roared before kicking and swiping the duo back. Sonic, yelling out, flipped and landed safely on the ground before gasping as the giant beast attempted to grab him. He ran out of the way and Homing Attacked while Sun pulled himself up onto the Werehog-Beast's arm, and dug his teeth into it hard.
"UGH!" The Werehog-Beast roared in pain, throwing it's smaller self off, causing Sun to cry out in alarm before landing hard on the ground. The monster then roared in pain and smacked Sonic aside, causing him to fly back with a scream.
"Ow!" The blue hedgehog cried out as he hit the ground hard, eyes shut while hissing at the bruises he knew he was going to have for a while. He sat up and wiped away invisible blood from his lip, glaring at the huge monster. "That hair-ball is one tough knot to brush out!"
It seemed that the Werehog-Beast had other ideas apart from simply trying to take out Sonic and Sun itself, because it then howled loudly and skyward which made the two brothers and their friends to cover their ears as it hurt a lot, the moon already risen and the sky darkening with dark clouds. To make things worse, several of Dark Gaia monsters appeared, formed of Rhinos and flying bats that looked hideous, and charged towards them in different directions and blocked the duo from reaching and attacking the main monster who grinned evilly. Sonic and Sun made to dodge the new opponents and tried their best to take them out.
Sonic Axe-kicked at the Rhino Monsters on the heads by hopping onto them first, and flipped and attempted to taunt them, tricking a couple to crash into each other. The flying monsters swooped down to strike, but the blue hedgehog was too fast and even though it was harder to take out these things, he managed to take down a couple while Sun grabbed and smashed others, the Dark Gaia minions squealing or roaring in pain as a result. All the while the giant Werehog-Beast tried to grab hero of Mobius or the Werehog, but they managed to evade it's attempts.
Then came the newer monsters they and Chip had encountered lately; large Beetles that stood on two legs and with mouths on their bellies which was pretty disgusting. One of them charged at Sonic who easily dodged and made to attack only for another to try and whack him away and the beast making to grab him. But Sun punched it's arm while the blue hedgehog took out the smaller monster as best as he could before having an idea. He Spin Dashed into the sand and with much strength as he could, flung a boulder at it's mouth where the rock got stuck and rendering the monster helpless, allowing the teenager to take it out.
The Werehog meanwhile grabbed one of the Rhinos and spun around and around with his arms stretched before he let go and it crashed not only into the flying monsters that were taken down easily and falling from the sky, but it also crashed into the other Rhinos and mutant-Beetles. He grinned to himself only to notice too late another Beetle charging and by the time he looked, it dug it's claws into his right cheek, making a deep scratch with small traces of blood leaking out. Sun roared in pain and was then punched hard that he was sent flying before crashing to the ground.
Sonic noticed and gasped in horror, screaming out his brother's name before yelping in fright as the Werehog-Beast made to grab him by using this distraction. But he quickly ran away from it's massive paws and charged towards the Beetle that hurt his friend, Homing Attacked it several times before it finally fell, and then he hurried over to the injured Werehog who placed a hand to his injured face.
"Sun! Are you okay?" Sonic asked, worriedly as he reached his brother's side.
"I'm fine. Just a scratch, but that thing sneaked up on me." Sun replied, hissing as it stung, but he knew that he was in for a scar when it would heal up, wiping away the blood that slightly leaked. The blue hedgehog though noticed traces of darkness also seeping out, but it was vanishing by traces of green light, which confused him but he quickly mentally shook his head to worry about that later. Right now, they had a giant Werehog-Beast to worry about.
The Werehog-Beast growled darkly under it's breath, staring down at the blue hedgehog and the Werehog who, sensing it's presence, glared up at it as well before they knew that, given how despite their best efforts, and they weren't even making it tired and they were already getting exhausted themselves, there was only one other thing to do and they hoped that it would work.
"Guess it's time for Plan-B." Sonic announced as he shared a glance with Sun. "Think you can grow gigantic again for this?"
Hesitant, Sun nodded slowly. "I'll try. Stand back."
"Right!" The blue hedgehog nodded, then whispered softly. "You can do it. I know you can."
His brother nodded before the teenager leaped back to a good distance while the Werehog stood up, glaring up at his evil self who raised an eyebrow questioningly. Sun then closed his eyes and wished, hoped and prayed that his ability to grow into a giant was still there. It took a lot of effort this time due to the darkness being mostly sucked away from him, but as he had hoped for, he began to grow by using his latest power, and as Sonic, Shadow who was stunned in shock, and Knuckles who's eyes widened in disbelief that the Werehog really can grow into a giant, and the Werehog-Beast watched, Sun soon reached the monster's height level, the same in appearance including his eyes since transforming back into his current form which wasn't a choice as he was still cursed during the night, but now a giant once more.
"How can he do that?" Knuckles asked from his and Shadow's hiding and resting spot, bewildered.
"I'm certain he will tell us later." The black hedgehog muttered, stunned by this terrifying and impressive ability and curse.
'I guess he still can do that, but it still won't be easy. Sun, I'll put in as much compassion as I can and help you win this fight. I know we can do it!' Sonic thought to himself as he witnessed the Werehog now a giant as well. It was luck that he can tell which is which, since the Werehog-Beast was slightly darker in colour and it's eyes were red. None the less, the fear inside his own heart still held a firm grip and unless he did something about it, it was a losing battle.
The Werehog-Beast, a bit surprised at first, then grinned evilly. "SO, YOU STILL CAN GROW INTO THIS SIZE. PERHAPS YOU AND I SHOULD RULE THIS WORLD TOGETHER; WE CAN FORM A BRAND NEW SPECIES AND BE SUPERIOR OF ALL THINGS SMALLER THAN US! JOIN ME, SUN, HERE AND NOW!"
"NO THANKS. I'M MORE HAPPY BEING NORMAL SIZE AND BE WITH MY FRIENDS, WHETHER I SURVIVE DARK GAIA OR NOT. ONCE I GET RID OF YOU, I'M NOT GOING TO BE A GIANT WEREHOG EVER AGAIN!" Sun responded, glaring hatefully at his dark counterpart, his newly made scar still bleeding slightly but it was slowing down a little. He just had to be careful not to get sand into it or else it will be infected.
"YOU STILL FOOLISHLY BELIEVE THEY ARE YOUR SO CALLED FRIENDS? THEY FEAR YOU, ESPECIALLY SONIC. WE BOTH COME FROM HIM AND IT IS OUT DESTINY TO DESTROY HIM. YOU ARE A CLONE, SUN. NOTHING MORE, NOTHING LESS." The Werehog-Beast pointed out.
"That's not true!" Sonic shouted, racing up before he stood near Sun's side and glared at the monster they were facing despite that he was increasingly terrified of the Werehog-Beast. "Sun is everybody's friend, and he has every right to live his own life! The choice is his and his alone!"
That only irritated the monster, before it grinned. "AND WHAT OF YOU, SONIC? YOU ARE THE REASON FOR ALL OF THIS TO HAPPEN. YOUR FAILURE TO STOP DR. EGGMAN FROM SPLITTING THE WORLD INTO PIECES, THE NEAR RE-AWAKENING OF DARK GAIA, THE DARKNESS THAT SPREADS AT NIGHT. YOU ARE THE SOURCE OF IT ALL, HEDGEHOG, THE HARBINGER OF OUR CREATIONS!"
That struck Sonic hard right into the chest, gasping sharping, his eyes widening as the message was clear as day and dark as night. He squeezed his eyes shut and placed his hands on his head to try and block out the guilt and words, despite knowing that the Werehog-Beast was right.
"NO! I'm not a harbinger! It wasn't me!" The blue hedgehog shouted, but it rang so deeply in his mind that it began to bring him to tears.
Sun in the meantime, despite that Sonic's support was comforting, couldn't hlep but feel like that maybe everybody did fear him just like they feared the monster they were facing. It didn't help that despite what they found out earlier, there was a chance that he will still fall for the same fate as all those before him. He was just a clone, despite that he had his own soul, and it hurt so much.
Seeing that it's words distracted them, the Werehog-Beast laughed evilly before roaring and it made to attack again. Yet somehow both Sonic and Sun, hearing it roar, looked up and gasped before the blue hedgehog sped away while the giant Werehog blocked it's attempts to punch him and attempted to punch it back, but his dark self blocked it and the two were quickly met in a wrestling match, digging into the sands with their heels while trying to overpower one another.
"SUN!" Sonic screamed when he saw this, before quickly used his Homing Attack at the Werehog-Beast's chest and then face, which caused the monster to roar in pain and distracting it enough for Sun to lift it over his head and thrust it to the ground after tossing it. The blue hedgehog in the meantime landed on the ground as he looked up at his friend who nodded, silently telling him that he was alright.
The Werehog-Beast, not impressed with their fighting spirits and that they are toughter than it thought, before realizing the reason why; they were both it and it was them; it and Sun were from Sonic and part of Dark Gaia, meaning that it was easy to take out Kaiser, Knuckles and Shadow, but the only ones who could fight it were the blue hedgehog and the Werehog. Growling in anger and determination to re-absorb Sun and devour Sonic, it stood up much to their shock and it tossed near by large boulders at them, forcing the two of them to dodge or block the attacks with punches and kicks.
Sonic then jumped and leaped while using the rocks to his advantage to reach to higher level and as the huge monster stretched it's arms out to grab him, he jumped and ran along it while Sun scratched at it's other arm to stop it from getting to his brother. The hero of Mobius then Spin Dashed into it's chest and face again, forcing it to stumble and fall, added by the Werehog's punch. But not before it slapped Sonic and Sun back, making them crash onto the ground as well.
"I HATE THIS THING." Sun grunted.
"There's gotta be a way to stop him!" Sonic exclaimed, only for him and his brother to gasp when the Werehog-Beast, injured, stood up again, still strong and getting just as angry. To add to the shock, some of the monster's fur turned solid and grew into huge spikes before they shot out towards them.
The two stood up quickly and dodged the attacks before the blue hedgehog kicked and punched some back towards it while the Werehog knocked away more aside and towards the Werehog-Beast. To their horror, rather than giving it a taste of it's own medicine, they were absorbed back into it's skin and it laughed evilly and in delight.
"Okay, this is a problem." The blue hedgehog muttered worriedly, with a sweat drop as he landed again.
"EVEN I CAN'T DO THAT." The Werehog blinked, dumbfounded.
Seeing how it had the advantage, the Werehog-Beast grinned before punching the ground and it created rock formations that began trailing straight towards them like an earthquake, which decreased Sonic's chances to run even as he leaped and ran with Sun behind him, punching and smashing the rocks, but it began too fast for the latter and the tremors too strong for the former. So much so that it threw them both off course and they were sent flying as they cried out in alarm before crashing once more on the ground, the tremors and rock formations still too strong for them to recover in time. Sun was briefly knocked out and hissed in pain, forced to move but was hit on the side and fell to the ground, grunting in agony.
The blue hedgehog over his shoulder and gasped in horror as the rock formations were catching up to him. If he didn't move now, he would be turned into a Hedgehog-Kabab! To make things worse, the Werehog-Beast stretched out it's arm to grab him with a twisted and hungry look. Sonic tried to get up and only managed to move out of the way to avoid in getting hit by the rock formations, but was clasped by the giant monster, just like in his nightmare.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Sonic screamed as he was being lifted off the ground, much to the horror of his friends who cried out his name, his two oldest friends way too far to reach him as they were more far away now that it was a long distance for Knuckles and Shadow. The blue hedgehog, now terrified beyond belief and losing whatever courage he gathered, then tried to pull himself free to avoid in sharing the same fate as Kaiser.
"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! I HAVE YOU IN MY CLAWS NOW, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!" The Werehog-Beast bellowed, grinning with an insane, monstrous look as it's mouth began to drool in hunger as it was looking forward for the taste of the helpless hedgehog within it's grasp.
"Let me go!" The blue hedgehog cried out, becoming more and more scared by the second. The terror and reality of being eaten dawned and engulfed so quickly that Sonic whimpered and shook. "Please! Please, don't eat me!"
But the Werehog-Beast refused to listen and licked it's lips. "MMMMMM...YOU ARE MORE DELICIOUS THAN THE FOOLISH MYTH HUNTER. SO SWEET AND FEARFUL, PLUMP AND FRESH. YOU ARE MINE!"
Sonic shivered in horror, memories of his nightmare coming back with a vengeance; his death, the deaths of his friends and family, Eggman taking over the world, Dark Gaia ruining it, the Werehog-Beast devouring the evil scientist and leaving the world in nothing but metal, rock and death. Then the blue hedgehog's re-death in the same way he was about to die now.
And it was all his fault for failing.
'No! NOOOOO!' Sonic thought tearfully as he renewed his attempts to escape the horrible monster's grasp, screaming out in absolute fear. "Help me! HELP ME!"
Sun, struggling to recover, gasped in horror when he saw what was about to happen and, fearing to lose his best friend, his brother who he was created from, who had tried so hard to save the world and had been one of the most honest people in Mobius, caring and brave, the Werehog, remembering their times together, hissed while attempting to ignore his pain and raced over as more rock formations attempted to attack him.
"GOODBYE, MY LITTLE TREAT. NOW YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF ANOTHER DAY." The Werehog-Beast declared, before opening it's mouth wide open with it's teeth shown, saliva dripping as it drew it's prey towards it's jaws.
Sonic gasped in pure horror as he could see the inside of the mouth, all the sharp fangs and teeth, all of the saliva, right down the throat that lead towards it's stomach. This is it; this was the end of him. He was going to be eaten!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Sonic screamed in pure terror, squeezing his eyes shut as he was unable to see his upcoming death, tears falling while the giant monster, unlike with Kaiser, decided to gobble him whole and was just about to place the doomed hedgehog onto it's awaiting tongue.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Sun screamed, stretching his arm out and punched the Werehog-Beast in the chest so hard that it roared in agony and was being forced back, dropping and flinging the blue hedgehog who, not even being tasted by the monster, was flown into the air screaming before being caught by the Werehog's free hand and drawn back quickly.
Unfortunately, one final mind-controlled rock formation caught Sun by surprise and thrust right into his chest, sending him flying backwards in agony and hit several more times by more before finally crashing onto the ground, dropping Sonic who screamed and landed onto the sand, rolling and tumbling before coming to a stop on his front. Groaning and panting at such a close call once he found that he was lying on the sand, safe and alive, the teenage hedgehog pushed himself to his hands and knees while spitting out the sand that got into his mouth. But when he turned to see that the Werehog-Monster was briefly knocked out, as he turned to see his brother, horror mounted onto horror as he saw the Werehog...unconscious.
Or dead.
"Sun!" Sonic cried out in devastation, ignoring his pain and traumatizing experience of almost being eaten alive, stood up before racing over, reaching the giant Werehog who looked defeated and lifeless. "Sun? Sun! Sun, wake up! Pull yourself together!"
There was no response, making the blue hedgehog try to shake him as the Werehog was lying on his side.
"Sun, please! Speak to me, man! Say something!" The fifteen year old pleaded. "Wake up! Please, wake up! Please! Don't give up! Don't leave me!"
But Sun said nothing, and did nothing. His eyes remained closed. This soon drew reality onto Sonic's face and into his heart which began to break in sorrow and loss. He didn't care if Sun was his clone, he didn't care if his brother still turned into a Werehog at night, he just wanted his brother back. The reality of Sun the Hedgehog being gone too soon...he didn't want to believe it.
"No...NOOOOOOOO! Sun, you can't die! SUN!" Sonic screamed in anguish, falling onto his knees and buried his face into Sun's fur, his tears damping it. Sun had just sacrificed himself to save his life, and now he lost one of the people that he loved again. One of his two new friends, and one of two new brothers...he was gone.
As he cried, really crying, his tears and heart unknowingly glowed in green light, which soak deep into Sun's body which also glowed, the light from Chip's necklace, which was also glowing unknowingly to Knuckles and Shadow who both now couldn't see what was going on due to the two of them and the Werehog-Beast being too far, glowed as well.
"Sun...Sun, I'm so sorry...! Please come back...!" The fifteen year old sobbed. "I wanted to cure you. I wanted you to live your own life, your own freedom. I wanted the two of us, Tails and Chip to go on another adventure together. I didn't want you to be me, or anybody else...I wanted you to be yourself...! You're a very brave hedgehog, caring in your own way. You stopped me from doing anything reckless to find and save Chip. You saved me. You saved others. You're a strong fighter, whether you were a hedgehog or a Werehog..."
As Sonic was becoming overcome with sorrow and loss, the Werehog-Beast, groaning in pain due to the unexpected attack from Sun, stood up and began approaching the two, snarling in anger due to having had it's meal delayed.
"You mean everything to all of us, buddy...I...I love you. I love you so much, bro. It's all my fault...!" Sonic continued, vaguely aware of the quaking footsteps getting closer and closer, yet unaware that his tears, his compassion that flared up deep inside, his love for his fallen brother as well as his other brothers, Tails and Chip, and even Knuckles, and everybody else, just as strong as ever before, sparked the light and life within Sun who in reality was unconscious, but so still that he looked dead.
"ENOUGH OF YOUR PATHETIC SORROW, HEDGEHOG." The Werehog-Beast growled, making Sonic shakily and tearfully look over his shoulder with heart-break, guilt and fear, and soon anger towards the monster who killed his brother. "HE IS YOUR CLONE. THAT THING HAS NO SOUL. HE WAS BORN TO SERVE ME, TO SERVE DARK GAIA, CREATED BY YOUR SHAPE, QUILLS, EMOTIONS AND THE POWER OF THE DARKNESS AND THE CHAOS EMERALDS. IT IS YOU WHO HAS CREATED US, SONIC. YOU HAVE DESTROYED THE WORLD ON YOUR OWN. YOU ARE THE TRUE MONSTER! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! AH HA HA HA HA HA!"
That shook the blue hedgehog straight to the core of his body, heart and soul. He lowered his gaze, starting to believe that the Werehog-Beast was right. It was his fault that this mess started. He destroyed the world. Everyone was doomed-
Suddenly Sonic cut those thoughts off as he softly gasped. Wait, did that thing say it and Sun were created by him? It called him a monster. Yet, he soon quickly remembered, he didn't do it on his own. He hadn't intended on it. Plus everything his friends told him came rushing back almost instantly.
Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Chip, the Chaotix, even Shadow, and Sun...neither of them blamed him. They repeatedly told him that it was all Eggman who caused it to happen.
Eggman. He planned this all along before Sonic even knew of it, created that trap, wanting to use Dark Gaia's power to create his Egg Empire. He used a machine to absorb the darkness from Sun's body which inadvertently released the Werehog-Beast who...unlike Sun who was given a heart, mind and soul of his own...was the blue hedgehog's worst inner fears, creating something he for a long time feared in becoming himself, and was born like the other creatures of Dark Gaia.
It was a monster he didn't want to become. Given life but only living in darkness of the imbodiment within the world itself.
'Of course. A being born from the body sample of a human or a mobian or an animal of a pure heart along with tears, a great power that is drained and anger and sorrow will appear, both as a creature of darkness, and a heart-given new life form with a heart and mind of their own. That's it! Now I know where that thing really came from!' Sonic thought to himself in realization. Unlike Sun, the Beast was just another one of Dark Gaia's minions trapped within the dark-blue hedgehog's body. It was feeding off Sonic's fear...
Because it was his self-fear towards himself, due to being so powerful when it came to the Chaos Emeralds, and how he didn't want to hurt others. The blue hedgehog narrowed his eyes, and while he couldn't feel the intense fear, he still felt terrified, but now he knew the answer to the riddle.
"You're wrong, fuzzy. I am not a monster. YOU are." Sonic grunted, wiping away his tears, standing up and glared at the Werehog-Beast. "Answer me one question. I can't feel that intense fear like I had before I saved Sun from Eggman. Why is that?"
"I THOUGHT YOU WOULD ASK THAT. YOU SEE, WHEN YOU FREED SUN THE HEDGEHOG, YOU ALLOWED YOURSELF TO BE TRAPPED IN THAT MACHINE OF DR. EGGMAN, WHICH IN TURN NOT ONLY ABSORBED SUN'S DARKNESS, BUT IT ALSO ABSORBED ALL OF THE TRACES OF DARK GAIA'S DARKNESS, WHICH FORMED AS YOUR FEAR AND MY STRENGTH TOWARDS ME, BEING THE FINAL KEY TO BE FREE." The Werehog-Beast grinned evilly.
Rather than feeling shocked despite that he felt stupid for not realizing it sooner, Sonic just muttered. "Well, that explains everything. No wonder I felt lighter than usual. I'm back to normal, in some kind of sense. But that doesn't change the fact of what you really are, Werehog."
"WHAT?" The Beast questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"It all makes sense now. I feared you, because you're just another monster from Dark Gaia, one of that thing's lackies doing all of it's dirty work to try and cause fear, destruction and chaos all across Mobius. Not only that, you're my fears towards myself; the fear of hurting others, not caring for anybody, only for power and destruction, or in your case, a coursed meal. You're the darkness and negative thoughts I myself was so afraid of all along, for four years ever since I first started learning how to use the Chaos Emeralds, only for emergencies." The blue hedgehog explained, his fear and sorrow slowly ebbing away.
That shocked the giant monster who's eyes widened, making Sonic smirk a little. "Unlike my buddy and new brother Sun, who was given a soul, a heart and a mind of his own, learning to experience life and already having his own feelings, being his own person despite having been born from my quills like you, you don't have soul! You don't care about anybody but yourself! You're just a beast living on for instincts of hunger and darkness!"
The Werehog-Beast growled, before stating despite that the blue hedgehog's own words shook it, it's vision beginning to fade as light began to dawn from Sonic's heart. "EVEN SO, YOU ARE THE CREATOR OF DESTRUCTION, SONIC!"
"You're wrong! The only reason you two guys were born was an accident! I was trying to save the world like I normally did, and landed into Eggman's trap in the wrong place and the wrong time! He's the one who created you, even if he hadn't meant to! He was just focused on his usual taking over the world scheme's, and he doesn't care! He's the creator of destruction! I'm a hero of Mobius, and even heroes make mistakes! And you know something else? I'm already fixing up the world with the help of my friends and family!" Sonic declared, to which Sun's eyes began to open, his words and warmth from his heart awakening him.
Sun could feel the warmth, the compassion from the blue hedgehog, his taunting words towards the Werehog-Beast weakening the monster who became more and more furious.
"Sun, Chip and I are only two continents closer in saving and restoring Mobius, and when this is over, I'm going to cure Sun, make him into a true Mobian like he is deep inside, even though the body with flesh and blood doesn't really matter, like Shadow for example, and help Chip get his memories back. Then, after relaxing, the three of us and Tails are going on another adventure together, as best friends and brothers! Everybody knew all along I was only trying to do the right thing like I normally would, and I'm atoning for my mistakes!" The blue hedgehog continued.
'SONIC...' Sun thought in his mind, eyes full of tears as he heard everything that Sonic had told the monster, even within unconsciousness.
"Sun belongs into this world, because like me and everybody else who aren't robots, or Dark Gaia monsters like you, he was born here. This is his home. It's my home. Everybody's home. Mobius is the greatest gift we were given since the days we were brought here. His heart and soul exist...whereas you don't! You're nothing but pure darkness, hairball! And you're going right back where you came from! Back into darkness, where you belong!" Sonic added.
Sonic's words, and everything that Sun experienced on this journey with him and Chip, and even with Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Shadow, everyone in the blue hedgehog's life, touched his very soul, remembering how, before learning the truth, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Chip, and Shadow both told him words that while his body was from the blue hedgehog, his soul and heart were his own.
"Sun, listen to me!" The blue hedgehog told him firmly. "You're not my clone! You're nobody's clone! You're not even a robot! You're you, and I'm me! We're different, and you have your own heart! You're Sun the Hedgehog!"
"There's gotta a way to save him, isn't there?" Tails asked pleadingly. "I don't care if Sun came from Sonic. He's our friend, and since Sonic calls him his brother, that makes him my new brother too!"
"You're right, Tails! It's not fair that Sun has to go just because of Dark Gaia! He has so much to live for, and he's part of our family now! He's not a clone, if you ask me! He's a Mobian and our friend!" Amy agreed, tearfully.
Chip nodded in agreement, "Yeah, even my necklace must've thought so! Because when Kaiser shot him after he saved Sonic, when it made that shield, some of the light healed up Sun's wound like it wasn't there at all. Plus, it even felt familiar to me, and I can't remember why. Maybe it was...Light Gaia that lady in Holoska mentioned that saw it too."
"By trusting the people who did not treat me any differently." Shadow answered, making the younger hedgehog glance up at him again. "I will admit, I questioned my existence and why I was created. But Maria, and then Rouge and everybody else, especially Sonic, they treated me as one of them. Just like how they treat you the same way, Sun. Sometimes it's best not to question how you were born, but how you should live your own life."
'MY FRIENDS...MY FAMILY...MY BODY MAY HAVE COME FROM SONIC...BUT NOT MY HEART, MIND AND SOUL!' Sun thought to himself, finally seeing that everyone was right. He was his own being, because he didn't share Sonic's personality or skills and he was just learning the Spin Dash attack, not having known how to use it already.
"YOU IGNORANT LITTLE FOOL! I AM SUPERIOR! YOU ARE ALL FOOD! YOU BELONG TO ME NOW!" The Werehog-Beast roared, wincing as Sonic's words hit home, but still made to grab him again and this time Sonic was ready for it and was about to attack to protect himself and Sun.
Only for Sun to roar and stop his evil-self's hand with his own by stretching it out, using another to punch the monster squarely in the face and remarkably sending it flying backwards. The Werehog-Beast, shocked and caught off-guard, howled in agony before crashing into the ground. Gasping in surprise, the blue hedgehog looked up behind and saw to his shock and relief, was Sun who, glowing in light which it faded, standing up tall and glared at their opponent.
"LEAVE MY BROTHER AND FRIENDS ALONE!" Sun roared, while his opponent sat up and stared in shock and horror.
"WHAT!?" It bellowed in disbelief. How could this be?
"SUN!" Sonic exclaimed happily. "You're okay!"
The giant Werehog looked down at his hedgehog brother with a warm smile. "THANKS TO YOU, SONIC. I HEARD EVERYTHING YOU SAID. YOU'RE RIGHT. YOU WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG. MY BODY MAY BE CLONED FROM YOU, BUT MY HEART, MIND AND SOUL WERE NOT. WE'RE BOTH DIFFERENT ON THE INSIDE OF OURSELVES. YOU AND THE OTHERS HAVE SHOWN ME WHAT COMPASSION REALLY IS, LET ME SEE THE WORLD AND EXPERIENCE LIFE, ADAPTING INTO IT, MAKING ME WANT TO STAY. YOU SAVED ME FROM THE DARKNESS."
That made Sonic smile warmly in return. "Oh, Sun. You're the best. I knew you had your own heart and soul. You always did from the very beginning."
"HOW CAN THIS BE!?" The Werehog-Beast demanded, causing both Sonic and Sun to look to see the monster stand up, panting. "YOU ARE AN ABOMINATION! A CLONE! YOU ARE NOTHING!"
"WILL YOU SHUT UP? MY BODY MAY BE A COPY, BUT YOU CAN'T CLONE A SOUL! MY SOUL IS MY OWN! YOU'RE JUST ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE ANNOYING PESTS FROM DARK GAIA, AND JUST LIKE THEM, YOU'RE ABOUT TO BE TAKEN DOWN." Sun growled in irritation.
The monster growled, only to blink in shock as both Sonic and Sun's body gave out the same green glows which finally caught their attention, surprising them both, making the Werehog-Beast wince and shield it's eyes. It wasn't until it remembered how it lost control over the Werehog earlier and it's eyes widened in horror; the combination of Sonic's compassion and love towards his friends and family, including Sun, towards Mobius, his tears of caring and kindness that always broke Sun free from it's control, that inner battle back in Chun-Nan, and when Kaiser shot him, the shield that awoke the light within their hearts, and Chip's necklace's light flowing into Sun's hedgehog body, healing his wound and driving away the controlling dark power.
Plus Sonic's positive Chaos Energy, his heart full of pure light, and the Chaos Emeralds' true power...that's what made Sun's soul choose the dark-blue hedgehog as it's vessel.
"NO! NO! THAT HEDGEHOG'S LIGHT! LIGHT GAIA'S LIGHT! THE...THE LIGHT OF THE CHAOS EMERALDS!" The Werehog-Beast bellowed in horror, stepping back in fear.
Sun smirked, feeling like this may be the final blow. He looked down to Sonic and asked. "MAY I FINISH HIM OFF?"
"Be me guest. Show this guy what you're really made of!" Sonic granted with a smirk and a thumbs up.
Nodding, and with Sonic moving out of the way, Sun then stretched his arms out and grabbed the Werehog-Beast's head, to which his enemy tried to pull off, but unlike the times when he absorbed the darkness, light flowed from his body and to his and Sonic's amazement, flowed into his arms and right into the monster's face, shining it and covering it as well as the rest of it's body, causing the beast to groan, grunt and scream in pure agony and horror. The power of Sonic's compassion and Chip's light had given the Werehog the strength he needed to finish the beast once and for all.
"LET ME GO! WE ARE ONE! ONE WITH DARK GAIA! CLONED FROM SONIC THE HEDGEHOG!" The Werehog-Beast screamed.
"NO. YOU ARE FROM DARK GAIA, AND SONIC'S FEARS. I AM A MOBIAN! SONIC'S BROTHER! YOU'RE THE TRUE ABOMINATION, WEREHOG AND YOU'RE GOING BACK TO WHERE YOU BELONG! FOREVER!" Sun declared, squeezing the monster's head and forcing his will power into the beast until it's body was completely covered in light and it began to disappear into a mist of darkness that was vanishing as well.
"NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" The Werehog-Beast roared for one final time, until it vanished completely, nothing but dust of Dark Gaia's power which vanished into the light which soon disappeared into nothing.
All that was left was the silence of the desert, the night sky which stars shone, twinkling brightly with the clouds moving away, and Sonic and Sun, with their friends in the safe distance away, and while Knuckles and Shadow didn't fully know what just happened, they saw that the giant Werehog had done it. He destroyed the Werehog-Beast for good. The threat of the monster was now gone.
Panting in exhaustion from having used so much mental and physical strength for the battle that seemed to take all night, Sun then winced as he felt some darkness leave him and disappear before he shrank automatically until he was back to his original size. He fell into one knee and used one hand to support him. Sonic softly gasped in worry and hurried to his brother, gently helping him up.
"Sun, are you alright?" The blue hedgehog asked softly.
"Yeah. Just exhausted, but nothing like a good sleep to fix it, right?" The Werehog replied tiredly, before closing his eyes as he tried to experimentally grow back into a giant, only to find that he couldn't, and blinked in a bit of disappointment, but also relief. "Huh. I guess my giant form was linked to the beast too. Now with that thing gone, I lost that ability. But...I'm a still a Werehog at night. Not the end of the world, though."
"Glad to see that you're looking at the bright side of things, and boy that stunt you pulled sure was bright!" Sonic half-joked, smiling in relief.
That made Sun chuckle, allowing the hero of Mobius to help him stand and the two smiled warmly at each other.
"Thank you for saving me, Sun." Sonic said wholeheartedly.
"And thank you for saving me. My brother." Sun replied.
That made Sonic smile emotionally, relieved that they actually did it. They defeated the beast within the Werehog, and despite that they still had to find a way to save him from Dark Gaia and make him a real Mobian, to cure him from being a Werehof once and for all, things were finally looking up. While the blue hedgehog still felt guilty for what happened, like all of his previous adventures, things were starting to become brighter once more, and soon Mobius will be saved once again.
Not resisting the urge to do it, Sonic gave Sun a brotherly-loving hug which the latter returned and the two nuzzled into one another. So drawn into their emotional embrace, that the sun began to rise, meaning that their battle really did take all night, because the Werehog was transformed back into a dark-blue hedgehog, but that didn't ruin the moment for them. In fact, it made a whole lot better.
"Huh. Guess it's morning already." Sonic thought, as he and Sun moved away, still smiling. "But that means it's the beginning of a brand new day."
"Looking forward for the brighter future, and I believe in you Sonic. I always will." Sun replied.
The two smiled once more, before the blue hedgehog slowly hugged his brother once more, the two of them cherishing it.
They then heard Knuckles call out to them, then the voices of Amy, Tails and Chip surprisingly, making the two hedgehogs stop their moment and saw their friends approach them, the red echidna with Shadow close by, and the other three flying towards them in the Tornado 1. Sonic smiled happily and waved at his friends as he called out to them, while Sun just waved with a smile.
"They did it! They stopped the monster-guy!" Chip cheered happily.
"Way to go, guys!" Tails cried out happily, tears in his eyes in relief that his two big brothers were safe and sound.
"I knew they could do it!" Amy happily and tearfully cheered.
The moment the group approached them with the plane landing, Chip flew over along with Tails with his namesakes and the four brothers laughed as they were happily reunited, hugging each other, with Amy joining in even though she was mostly hugging Sonic and trying to kiss him(much to his discomfort but he was enjoying her hug none the less).
"Nice work, you two." Knuckles congratulated, before smirking. "But I could've handled that thing head on."
"Whatever you say, Knux." Sonic chuckled, smirking knowingly before remembering something. "Oh, hey, can I have Chip's necklace back?"
Blinking in confusion at first, the red echidna then realized what the blue hedgehog meant and nodded, handing it back to him and once the hugging feast ended, the hero of Mobius slipped the necklace carefully back around the pixie-dog's neck, surprising him.
"Thanks for the help, Chip. You and your necklace really saved us." The fifteen year old said.
"Thanks a bunch, squirt." Sun added, smiling warmly.
"Aw, it was nothing." Chip replied, sheepishly rubbing the back of his head.
"And guys. Thanks for cheering me up. It was thanks to all of you I got back to my feet, and helped me and Sun to take out that thing even through your hearts." Sonic added, bringing Tails and Amy close to him, making his little brother and self-proclaimed girlfriend beam at him happily.
Most of his friends smiled, while Shadow just shrugged before Sun approached him, whispering with a warm smile. "Shadow...Thanks a lot. You and Sonic helped me understand what life really is."
The black hedgehog blinked in surprise over the younger hedgehog's gratitude, before looking away slightly and then looked back with a small smirk, whispering back. "You're welcome, Sun the Hedgehog."
The dark-blue hedgehog smirked back, and the two shared a hand-shake, which would forever symbolize their own rivalry. And friendship.
While Shadow decided to return to Shamar to meet with Rouge with Knuckles joining him, Sonic and the rest of his friends, seeing that they were closer to Empire City, which reminded most of them of Station Square and Westopolis, thankfully still daytime, decided to rest there for a little while and went on a little bit of exploring. They rented out a room for a few hours for Sonic and his friends to catch up on some sleep, with the blue hedgehog, dark-blue hedgehog, pink hedgehog, two-tailed fox and pixie-dog sharing a huge King-sized bed and sleeping peacefully, all snuggled up without a care in the world, waking up said hours later feeling refreshed and ready to relax a bit more before they would return to Shamar.
The group of close friends toured around the city, catching glimpse of a movie production which had to be put on hold due to one, the writers were scrambling in re-writing the story, and two, the world being split apart but close to being restroed. Surprisingly, as this was supposed to be a giant monster movie, Sun walked over and while he knew he wasn't allowed to join in, suggested in making a story about giant Werewolves with one of them being friends with a teenage boy(either a human or a Mobian) to bring peace and showing friendship and harmony, and the director welcomed the idea, before the dark-blue hedgehog rejoined his three brothers and friend.
Afterwards, the five of them were at the Central Plaza at the food stand, sitting at the table enjoying their lunch. Amy had some chicken salad, Chip had a hamburger, Sun decided to try a cheeseburger and instantly fell in love with it to the point of ordering two more, and both Sonic and Tails of course had Chili Dogs.
"Isn't this perfect? It's almost like the world isn't in a crisis right now." Amy sighed happily.
"Yeah! Now with only two more continents left, Mobius will be back to normal in a few more days!" Tails added happily.
"I can't believe the world's almost back to the way it was! I'm so excited that I'm getting nervous!" Chip said, munching on his burger.
"What's there to be nervous about? We handled a giant Werehog monster, and if we have to, we'll handled Eggman as usual, before Dark Gaia wakes up." Sonic replied, gobbling down his third Chili Dog in a matter of seconds. Or maybe it was his fifth. It was hard to tell with him.
"Yeah, that loser is such a whimp, and an idiot." Sun said, taking another bite out of his third cheeseburger, already deciding that cheeseburgers are his favorite food. Still worried about his fate with Dark Gaia aside for a moment, the dark-blue hedgehog felt like he was a lot more happier and free now that the beast was gone for good.
They all shared a laugh while enjoying their meal, before Sonic popped the next question that formed in his mind. "Speaking of continents, any idea where the next Temple of Gaia is, li'l bro?"
"Yeah, actually." The eight year old kit replied. "Before Knuckles called about Eggman yesterday, Professor Pickle found out that the next Temple is in the region of Adabat. By the time we get there, it'll still be daytime."
"Sweet!" The blue hedgehog cheered, pumping his fist into the air above his head. "After that, we can figure out where the last one is and then it's saving the world, helping Chip get his memories back, curing Sun and kicking Eggman's butt!"
Even though Sun still felt uneasy with the upcoming confronts, he couldn't help but join the others in cheering on. Despite that he still wasn't sure if he will be able to be a real Mobian, he was glad that Mobius was almost fully completed.
Plus Sonic always believed in a brighter future, and even though they still have a long way to go, things were finally looking up.
But there were still challenges and other revelations up ahead.
A/N: Yay! The Werehog-Beast is gone, and in the next chapter Sonic and his friends will be heading to Adabat! Not sure how that one will go. Might be shorter than the previous Gaia Temple visits, but now we're one step closer in this story being finished! Might take a bit of a break for a little while until I find time and ideas on how the Adabat visit will turn out along with another emotional scene which I'm sure you guys are aware of if you have already read it's completed sequel "Sonic and the Power of the Wisps."
