Chapter 10

Dora peaked from the side of Danny's tent and after double checking that the coast was clear, she walked right inside. She leaned in close to Danny's ear and began whispering, "Wes defied you….he insulted you…he even laughed at your map!"

--

"My….map…." Danny repeated sleepily.

--

"And if Wes is laughing to your face, just imagine what he's saying behind your back." Dora continued, smirking the entire time.

--

Danny was coming close to waking up and kept repeating what Dora was whispering to him. She continued as she began heading towards the tent exit, "He's a loose cannon. He's out of control and I mean who's really in charge here? You or Wes? Wesley…..Wes!"

--

She quickly jumped out of the tent as Danny woke up and shouted, "Wes!"

--

He looked around and saw that there was no-one in his tent. He shook his head and mumbled, "Must've just been a dream."

--

With a yawn, he laid back down on his camp bed and tried to get some more sleep. But Dora was just outside behind a tree, creating scarecrows that would look like Wes and the three princesses by the shadows created by the moon. After making her voice sound like Wes, she got into position. She moved the scarecrows over to the side of Danny's tent and began moving the Wes puppet around.

--

"General Danny? General Hardhead! That's what they should call him." Dora began, speaking as loud as she could so Danny could hear her talking. "I mean come on! Why does everything have to have a strategy?"

--

Danny groaned and sat up, looking at the shadows at the wall of his tent and said in confusion, "Wes?"

--

He continued to listen in as Dora continued, "I bet he wouldn't even brush his teeth without a backup plan. I blame myself. I fell for those broad shadows and those blue eyes. I didn't realise there wasn't much sitting on top of them. And as for that garlic breath…."

--

Dora's voice broke and went back to normal as she finished, "Whooeeee! That boy could peel paint!"

--

Realising her mistake, she covered her mouth and quickly ran to the bushes with the puppets. Inside the tent, Danny covered his mouth now afraid of his bad breath. He then glared in annoyance and decided to give Wes a piece of his mind.

--

He noticed Wes at the perimeter of the camp with Cujo, helping him to keep watch for any intruders and continued to march right over. Dora sat in the tree branch and grinned as Wes whispered, "Dora, you are good."

--

"Wes!" Danny called as he walked up behind him.

--

Wes smiled as he turned around and said, "Hey Danny. Out on a midnight stroll?"

--

"General Hardhead? Brushing my teeth?" Danny said with annoyance.

--

Wes looked at him, really confused and asked, "Is something wrong? You're acting a little strange."

--

"I heard you Wes. Every word." Danny said, before suddenly covering his mouth remembering what Wes AKA Dora, said about his apparently bad breath.

--

However the real Wes had no clue what Danny was talking about and asked, "Every word of what?"

--

"Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about." Danny said, getting annoyed at Wes apparently pretending he didn't do anything. "I saw you outside my tent."

--

"What?! I haven't left my post since my watch started." Wes said, frowning a little bit.

--

"And I suppose you weren't gossiping about me with the princesses? Huh?" Danny continued to press.

--

"Okay, did that little dip in the river make you water logged?" Wes asked, now really confused to his fiancés behaviour. "And why are you talking with your hand over your mouth?"

--

"I wouldn't want to peel your paint!" Danny snapped before storming off, leaving a completely shocked Wes and Cujo.

--

Dash then came over and reported, "Time to change of the guard."

--

Danny then turned for a moment and shouted at Wes, "And next time, DON'T LEAVE YOUR POST!"

--

Wes crossed his arms and growled, glaring at Danny's back as he headed back to his tent. Dash looked at Wes and asked, "What's with him?"

--

Wes said nothing and simply groaned in annoyance and anger once again, before storming off to his own tent, leaving a baffled and confused Dash Baxter behind.

--

"What's with you?" Dash asked, before realising there was no-one around. "Who am I talking to?"

--

Cujo followed Wes as he stormed into his tent and threw his sword to the floor. Dora was sitting on a chest as Wes then snapped, "How could he not believe me?! I wasn't even outside his tent at all."

--

Cujo barked at Dora, trying to get Wes to see that it was Dora all along, but Dora played innocent and sent Cujo flying out of the tent as she said, "I don't know Wes, but I do know this; without trust there can be no relationship and that man don't trust you."

--

"Maybe he was just confused." Wes suggested, trying to make sense of Danny's behavior.

--

"Oh please! First you fuss about the arranged marriage, then you two fought about which direction you should take to get to Qui Gong and now you're both fighting over nothing. Seems pretty clear to me." Dora said.

--

Wes then started thinking that Dora was making sense. He sighed and then asked, "What do I do Dora?"

--

"It's simple. Drop that boy like a hot-pot sticker. Kick him to the curve! Burn his letters and dance around the fire yelling, happy days are here again!" Dora answered, smiling as she could just picture the break up.

--

"You make a point there. If this is the real Danny Fenton, I don't like what I'm seeing." Wes said, frowning slightly as he remembered Danny's behaviour from earlier.
